Ordered before but this time the Malayan was completely flavourless with a watery sauce. Really disappointing after previous good dishes.

Excellent food and very friendly people working there. I recommend this place as price and quality of food is very good. Had Lamb Biyrini, and it was amazing!!!!!

I've been a loyal customer of Taj Mahal for over a decade and they haven't disappointed me once. Such lovely service everytime I call and the food arrives piping hot on time, everytime. I would highly recommend the Jelfrazi they do. You can tell with the decades of experience they have perfected the dish. My only go to. Great work guys. Keep it up

Ordered from here with my family last night. We ordered the meal for for with an extra lamb madras and some more poppadomd. Delivery did take a long time but it was a Saturday night so that’s to be expected. Food was all lovely. Madras was rich with tender lamb and a decent spice. Tikka masala was really tasty and even the added vegetable curry that most places slop up with no care at all was really well cooked and seasoned. Will definitely be ordering from them next time and if it’s as good as that, this will be our new regular.

SERIOUSLY These people know how to cook good food. Lovely staff too. They sent me a nice message and some poppadoms because it was my birthday :) I will definitely order again.

We ordered at 8.00 pm, and had children eating. I rang the resturant as just eat said the delivery wouldnt come until 9.30 pm earliest. they got to the food to us by 9.00pm, probs before, was delicious, was all hot, one of best indians we have had. the roads are icy and we are really thank full for them deliverying quick and for the great quality of food. thank you everyone there!

Hi I tried this take away for the first time and was mighty impressed. The wait time was exactly what I was told and the food was piping hot still.The food itself was wonderful,full of flavours and good quality meats had been used.I have worked as a chef in my past and I was impressed to say the least.I will use them again and recomend them most highly. This place is well worth the money!

This was always our go to take away for Indian, the customer service used to be superb as well as the food. This evening has changed my mind. We made an order for collection for a birthday get together. After driving 20 minutes to collect, we were told everything was in the bag and the receipt was read out to us. On returning home we found one of our meals was missing. We called to ask if the missing item would be brought out as we’d already made a 40 minute round trip and the missing item wasn’t our fault, but one of the restaurant to correct. We were told we’d be waiting for 30 minutes. We’ve now received another phone call arguing that they shouldn’t have to bring out our meal to us as it’s slightly out of delivery range. This is the restaurant’s mistake to correct and it’s ruined a birthday meal ruined now. Everyone else has finished and the birthday person is still without. Finally another phone call to tell us the meal is now on its way and some half-apology that we, the customer probably make mistakes all the time too and blamed the cashiers age…a mistake I could accept and forgive however how it was dealt with I cannot. One very late curry on now cold rice this evening. Very, very surprised as this place used to be amazing with superb customer service. A shame.

WOW! From starters to main this place did not disappoint. I had a Onion bhaji and boy could you taste the flavours crispy on the outside! For my main I had ch jalfrezi with a mushroom rice and it defo hit the spot! Thank you Ali for looking after us and for the free poppadoms. Will be back again soon!

Ordered food from here so I could enjoy the boxing 🥊 and when it arrived the food was cold, chicken madras was cold and sauce all runny and way too bloody hot 🥵 unlike other times from here and other places and all it’s done is give me the 💩💩💩💩💩😤🤬😡🤔😳😨 and I won’t be ordering from here again. This place has gone down hill big time !

I had a chicken tikka rogan Josh, it tasted like they had poured a tin of tomato soup into the tray and threw a few lumps of chicken in, no way on this planet was it authentic, no onion, fresh tomato,or capsicum, bombay aloo is ok but would be a whole lot better if the potatoes were soft fully cooked, not half raw and hard, my chapattis were half cooked and the keema rice was cold, the only half decent part of my meal was the tandoori chicken starter, tasted good but very small portion. delivery driver was sat outside the shop for quite some time playing on his phone, this place is going downhill fast.

Not very nice Indian at all, especially considering it was £40 for two people!! Chicken tikka masala was bright red, lamb madras was just all burn with no fragrant flavours or nice spices, naan bread was freezing cold had to reheat it in microwave and mixed staters was also cold. Then takeaway phoned me up asking why I had left a bad review. The poppadoms where nice though 👍

The food is consistently very good, the sauce is never watery as other takeaways seems to suffer from and their Saag Aloo, which can be a decider for me, is always excellent. Our main go to.

Been very disappointed of late. We used to be real regulars here and always said it was the only Indian that was consistently amazing and never let you down but the last year or so has really gone down hill. Food is often late with no explanation, hit or miss and tonight the chicken tasted like it was still defrosting. We are living in past glory and still keep going back in the hopes they come good and when they do it’s hands down best curry in Norwich but unfortunately those are getting fewer and farther in between. Til we disappear for a while and get a text offer then it seems they pull out all the stops, can’t help but wonder if they save the best for new or older customers and get complacent with the regulars and can’t be bothered. Very disappointing as we would order so much more often if they treated us as new customers every time but based on recent experience tin no hurry to return whatsoever

1st time I've been here. No complaints, really good food, picked up, ready on time, polite staff.

We religiously use a local Indian however decided to venture out and ordered from here for the 1st time last night. We were really impressed! The initial delivery time advised was slightly concerning however the food arrived much quicker which is great. We had a chicken bhuna, madrass, rise, garlics naans, popadoms, chips and sagaloo and it was all absolutely delicious. Will definitely use again!

When ordering a takeaway on a Saturday night a delay in delivery is expected. What was unexpected was the lovey gesture of an extra side with a note to apologise for the delay as well as the drivers apology too. Food was delicious as always.

Very good food, cooked quickly. Cash only.

Firstly, the main thing, the chicken dansak was very tasty. It had a nice little kick but could've been fierier and not spoiled its rich and sweet flavour. On the whole, very nice indeed. The naan was a lovely soft one and a good size, perfect to go with the main. Their rice was colourful which was a nice touch too. Finally their chicken bhuna (my partners dish) was also good. A rich and thick sauce, which was somewhat oily but still tasted very nice. This separation likely occurred in transit. With takeaway some things were inevitable, the bhajis had softened so although having a lovely flavour, were not very crispy. The papadum was a bit moist too, though still crisp enough to enjoy. Overall a really tasty meal, I would definitely order here again! Perhaps if we were closer to the kitchen those criticisms would not have occurred.

The food and flavour is 10/10 however the delivery is terrible. Had to wait over 1.5 hours for delivery when told it would be under an hour. I would gladly give you guys 10/10 if you sorted your delivery times out. I only live 1/2 mile down the road!

I just ordered takeout after arriving here from the US and I ordered the tandoori mixed grill, butter chicken, and lamb curry dishes.. Honestly these were the some of the best tasting Indian dishes I’ve eaten since living in Singapore. The meats were cooked perfectly in the Tandoori spices and marinated to perfection. I highly recommend this Takeout for the quality and taste! Thank you!

Having been a takeaway Customer of the family who own the Taj Mahal for over 30 years, I can confidently report that this takeaway produces some of the tastiest, most succulent and luxurious Indian and Bangladeshi dishes in the UK. I've been addicted to Indian cuisine since the mid 1970s and have enjoyed Indian food at restaurants all over the world, so I can speak with at least a degree of objectivity and experience. I can therefore highly recommend the delicious food which is always freshly prepared by the Taj Mahal.

Was plenty but cold when delivered first time I have thrown left overs out £25 waste of money !

Not bad. Not much difference between the different dishes, but we were hungry, so it did the job.

I have given this take away several chances due to it being local to me. But each time the food has been substandard. I paid around £17 for three dishes boiled rice this week. When we opened them up we found only the rice was a full portion. The meat dishes where half empty a real lack of meat and sauce. My partner and I were both left hungry and annoyed. No more chances will return to the merchant of spice next time!

I have developed a taste for indian cheese paneer, and really love the paneer garlic curry, tastes divine. With a kulcha naan and coconut rice! Nom! I wont go anywhere else for a take away curry now. We've ordered through the website twice this last week or so and both times I have had paneer garlic with extra Coriander, the other half had malayan last time and murgh marsala tonight. Both were amazing and definitely the best take away curry we have had in the last 10 years. We rang to say how much we enjoyed it, and found out Dad is the chef. Well Dad you are an amazing chef and thank you for feeding an NHS staff member. Also thank you for keep adding lots of extra Coriander each time for me, it is my favourite herb. The best curry I’ve had and I’ve tried a lot! After turning veggie I thought I’d never find a curry I like until I tried Taj Mahal! Orders are always processed quickly & the staff are lovely, I would 100% recommend.

Ordered on just eat however it’s not set up properly. Be aware that they will call you and ask you for cash on delivery for the delivery charge. When you are spending £60 surely the delivery charge should be free! Bad service and bad attitude from the guy I spoke to. Not the customers fault if they have not set up their just eat account properly. They need to get their act together.

I popped in at 4.30pm on the way home from running a marathon (they open at 5, but the door was open because they were inside prepping). I asked if I could order now and come back at 5 and they said "of course, not a problem". I ordered the set meal for one. Came back 30 mins later and there were several people inside (a good sign!) food was ready in less than 5 minutes. Got home and the food was piping hot, and the quantity and quality of the food was excellent. The poppadom was crisp, the chicken tikka starter was tasty and moist. The 2 curries a Tikka Masala and Vegetable Curry had excellent flavours and the pilau rice and nan were also very good. I couldn't fault the meal at all (which is unusual for me...I usually have something to grumble about!) And despite being very hungry from the marathon, lasted 2 servings - one that night and again for breakfast the next day. Absolutely 10/10 and looking forward to ordering another takeaway from them again soon.

Pregunté si podía ordenar ahora y volver a las 5 y dijeron "por supuesto, no es un problema". Pedí la comida preparada para uno.Regresé 30 minutos más tarde y había varias personas adentro (¡una buena señal!) La comida estaba lista en menos de 5 minutos.Llegué a casa y la comida estaba muy caliente, y la cantidad y calidad de la comida era excelente.El poppadom estaba crujiente, el entrante de pollo tikka estaba sabroso y húmedo. Los 2 curries, un Tikka Masala y un Curry de verduras, tenían excelentes sabores y el arroz pilau y nan también eran muy buenos.No pude culpar a la comida en absoluto (lo cual es inusual para mí ... ¡generalmente tengo algo de qué quejarme!) Y a pesar de estar muy hambriento del maratón, duró 2 porciones, una esa noche y otra para el desayuno del día siguiente. .Absolutamente 10/10 y estoy deseando volver a pedirles otra comida para llevar pronto.

Tenemos muchos restaurantes indios encantadores en Norwich, pero las versiones para llevar cerca de donde vivo no están a la altura, pero este fue perfecto. La comida estaba muy caliente, no grasosa ni seca, los naans eran absolutamente divinos y el tarka dhal como me gusta, no como la sopa líquida. El personal del teléfono era muy atento. Lo usaré una y otra vez ahora.

Esta noche, mi familia y yo tuvimos un indio increíble del Taj Mahal, la comida estaba caliente, que es algo que busco como comida para llevar cuando apenas están calientes. El sabor era excelente y de buena calidad. Mi niño pequeño ama a su korma, fue una delicia. El personal era muy amable, el precio no era tan malo y porciones decentes de tamaño. Definitivamente ordenaría de ellos nuevamente y lo recomendaría a cualquiera que quiera una buena comida india para llevar.

Recientemente me he vuelto intolerante a la lactosa, por lo que pedir un curry se ha convertido en una pesadilla, con su restaurante tienen un menú increíble que establece claramente lo que tiene lácteos, gluten, etc. en cada plato. . . también cuando pedí que el pollo balti viniera con un naan gratis (que no iba a comer) me llamaron para avisarme que el naan contenía una pequeña cantidad de leche y me gustaría que lo reemplazaran con otra cosa que no contiene lactosa? servicio encantador muy servicial, gran menú y comida muy sabrosa. . . Si tuviera que decir una cosa, el orden de los minutos podría ser un poco más bajo para ser realista, pero aparte de ese gran restaurante muy feliz.

La comida era excelente y de muy alta calidad no acuosa, como muchos restaurantes de comida para llevar en Norwich.Pociones de buen tamaño y la calidad de la carne era excelente.Le recomendaría encarecidamente que use su sitio web directamente y no ordene solo por comer, ya que se beneficia.El servicio fue excelente y se entregó antes de lo previsto, lo que siempre es mejor que llegar tarde, prueba que son un negocio bien organizado.No tomes mi palabra, pruébalo tú mismo.

Placed an order with Taj Mahal this evening for collection and it was ready bang on time. As expected for the area, parking is difficult if busy but we were lucky and got a space pretty quickly. The food was lovely, we had a good selection from the menu which everyone enjoyed. Lovely big chunks of meat and cooked with lots of flavour. Unfortunately our order was not complete and we were missing a rice. If you place an order with Taj Mahal, be sure to check everything is there before you head home.

Second time we have ordered from here. Wonderful flavours. Only thing advised 1 hr 20 mins and actually took 1hr 50 and order not fully fulfilled didn't get nan and no appoligy for delay.
