Dalchini Spice in Central Bedfordshire

This was our first visit even though we’re local… we normally go to an Indian restaurant in Baldock we’ve visited for years, so we were interested to try somewhere very local to our house. Overall we had a good experience and great food…. The restaurant is very nice inside, warm & cosy on a cold March night. The 2 waiters appeared stressed so that reflected in the very slow service and lack of friendliness to us compared to other reviews complimenting them. On reflection, I think we’ll stick to our Baldock place next time we fancy a meal out.

First time visiting. Really enjoyed the great food and service. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a great curry in Shefford

Excellent service, very well looked after and the food was full of flavour. Our favourite place to get curry! We were not rushed and we always feel welcome.

We often visit this establishment and the staff and always so friendly professional and helpful the food is amazing very tasty and fresh the restaurant has a great atmosphere which is very peaceful We will most certainly be back again 5 stars is definitely well deserved

Food was cold again and I only live around the corner

Ordered delivery at 930 (was due to arrive for 1030) was called and asked if I could collect (I don’t drive) Told them I couldn’t and this was ‘fine’. I was not told there would be any delays with my order. Didn’t arrive till 11:30 and was cold

The food was cold, lamb was chewy and no flavour. The mango chutney was bitter.

Came here to try a different local Indian restaurant. Staff were ok. Food was average I wouldn’t say great. They brought over starters that we hadn’t ordered and seemed confused when we said it wasn’t us. Was all a little disorganised. I’m hoping it was just a bad evening and things aren’t always like that.

Don't bother booking a table in advance as they are surprised when you arrive. Miserable service, just not engaging or interested. Cold plates and then cold food. When we tried to address issues, we were informed "maybe this is not the restaurant for you". We will NEVER return.

Normally we’ve had a good meal but tonight the chicken was chewy, the poppadoms were stale and not crispy. Not very hot either. Very disappointing.

Great place for dinner! We had the onion bhaji, veg dopiaza and chana masala. All were excellent. 10/10 would recommend!

Lovely meal and experience as always at dalcini spice!! As a party of 6, we were well cared for and felt very comfortable in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious.

Portion size was really generous and delivery was really prompt however was quite cold when it arrived.

The food was very cold and it was really cold, the garlic nan was cold was hard by the time I received the order, really not happy with the delivery and the food.

We’ve ordered from here a few times and usually it’s delicious however this time the chicken was very dry, the rice was dry, the Dahl was very watery and the food just didn’t taste as good as it usually does!

Earliest delivery time was an hour, it came on time an hour later - the naan bread was stone cold and tasted really odd and the lamb jalfrezi was swimming in oil when it arrived. I stirred it up but it wasn’t the tastiest. The chicken tikka masala wa

meal I was inedible due to ordering it mild( offered at hot, medium or mild) it came so ridiculously spicy noone could eat it. I'm talking eyes watering, nose running, sweating after 1 bite. I dont know if they missed the spice level]8it, or was a mistake or if they deliberately ignored it as had some pre prepared at that level and couldn't be bothered to cook a whole new batch from fresh. but this was definitely not 'mild' by any stretch-it was a lamb biriani -a mild dish wherever u get it

Food was not to the usual quality, food was cold and the curry was very watery. Shame as normally the food is very good here

Spot on as usual! Take out or eat in...never had one reason to complain! Highly recommend! Try it and enjoy yourself! 😊👍

This has been a regular spot for me and my family for the last 15+ years! As well as me and my friend group! The food has always been brilliant, and the service is unmatched! From knowing my parents names and asking after my sister, to a Wine Spritzer on the house for my 18th, Dalchini has never disappointed and will continue to see my custom for as long as they stay open! Couldn't recommend more!

Meal was very tasty apart from the chicken in the curry was stringy and overcooked so unable to eat it.

Visited this restaurant as a group of four . Our order was taken quickly & we didn’t wait long for our food to arrive. Portions were good , food was tasty , for a Saturday night it was not busy . Would visit here again

This is the second time I have received the wrong curry. Today I ordered two chicken balti’s and I received one chicken balti and a chicken dansak.

Absolutely awful chips tasted like cardboard. Everything over spiced. Food was horrible last time but gave them another chance tonight and it was even worse. Used to be nice but not anymore. Won’t be ordering from here again

terrible food!! I was a weekly customer until my last order last week. the food has been going down hill for a while now. last order was terrible, all seemed pretty heated. rice was dry, chicken was hard and dry. GREAT WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS, SEND TERRIBLE FOOD AND LOSE CUSTOMERS 😑 🙄. WONDERING HOW LONG THIS RESTAURANT WILL BE OPEN!!

Delivery was scheduled for a reason, arriving early put us in a difficult position getting our toddler to bed. Food has been much better previously, was disappointed today unfortunately chicken was chewy and potatoes were overcooked

First time coming in after a recent takeaway - a great restaurant with good atmosphere, excellent service, and incredible food. We already knew the food was great from the takeaway, but it’s an even better experience to eat in!

Would have been 5 star but the Garlic naan’s were disgusting, they didn’t taste of garlic just salt. The rest of the food was lovely. Chicken Momo’s were fantastic as always.

Food was lukewarm and quality wise was very disappointed- I had the tandoori mixed grill which is my usual choice but this was one of the worst I’ve ever had. The lamb tikka was so tough it was inedible and the Sheek kabab was almost cold (and so dry). Sorry but won’t be ordering again.

Onion bahji’s were re-heated old stock by the taste/texture. Rezala was far too sweet (have had before and was ok) this made my teeth itch. Cheese Naan had the cheese added as an after thought and was heated a second time. Totally disappointing this time.
