The best restaurants serving Indian food in East of England

We went following a recommendation and apparently, it was just bad luck as main chef not present on a Monday but the food had absolutely no spice to it, it was expensive (as everything is nowadays) and my onion bhajis certainly weren't fresh! I definitely wouldn't return :(

A really quite phenomenal curry. Asked for a chicken tikka bhuna at madras heat and they certainly delivered!

Had a Christmas meet-up with friends. Good service, food was very good and affordable.

The best Indian food place in Hitchin. Hands down (we visited them all). Food is top notch, staff is amazing and super engaging, very fast service. We come here at least once a month for the last two years and never had a bad dish. Beautiful; a must visit

The best Indian food I’ve had in recent years. The prawn puree starter was particularly well presented and very tasty. Much recommended.

Brilliant curry, even made a garlic chilli chicken masala despite not being on the menu and was spot on. Good atmosphere and good price, cannot complain

Highly recommend! I went for a birthday meal with family and the whole experience was a pleasure. All staff were attentive and polite, and the atmosphere was very cosy and relaxing. We had dinner and had all 3 three course and they were all amazing. Will defiantly be returning again soon!!

Amazing food, and amazing service.

We have had a takeaway/delivery a few times. The service is excellent and the food is the best Indian takeaway we have had.

It was a lovely meal, served quickly and with charm. The restaurant was packed, and there were lots of takeaway orders going out, but our food came quickly and was delicious. Thank you Curry Cottage

Chicken pakora, lamb Tikka biriani and garlic nann.....absolutely amazing. Could not fault a thing .

Too inconsistent, quality of food at times is poor? Having to add extra charges to obtain order is a joke! This place has gone downhill this year, and won’t be ordering again, quality matters.

Ordered online via their website, which stated a 40 minute delivery time. Called up after 1hr 15 mins to be told it hadn't been cooked yet. Arrived after 1hr 45 minutes but the order had the wrong curry. I was so hungry i ate it but don't particularly like Bhuna's, rather dissapointing to wait all that time and not get what you ordered. On the plus side, the food was decent enough.

I don't normally write reviews but I’ve got to say this, the whole concept work on so many levels. , very authentic and tastes delicious Amazing food, the flavours were the best fresh ingredients are used and you can tell a lot of pride and passion has gone into each dish Pretty impressed I'd recommend THE RAJ at Maldon to anyone to try, you will not be disappointed or hungry!!! One of the curry and all sort of Indian food I’ve ever tasted . My whole family and I love their food and we’ve been a customers for many years as well as most of my mate . Just to mention that all food are cooked freshly by a decent respectful family as they do cook from heart. You feel like you eat at home and what a great amazing customer service if I could give more that five stars trust me I would . Thank you to THE RAJ AT MALDON & everyone at this lovely restaurant specially to the MUM AND DAD for the best food I've had in a long, long time! WE ARE VERY LUCKY TO HAVE AMAZING AND DECENT GENUINE FAMILY WHI COOK CROM THEIR HEART.🙏🙏❤️❤️
