I don't normally write reviews but I’ve got to say this, the whole concept work on so many levels. , very authentic and tastes delicious Amazing food, the flavours were the best fresh ingredients are used and you can tell a lot of pride and passion has gone into each dish Pretty impressed I'd recommend THE RAJ at Maldon to anyone to try, you will not be disappointed or hungry!!! One of the curry and all sort of Indian food I’ve ever tasted . My whole family and I love their food and we’ve been a customers for many years as well as most of my mate . Just to mention that all food are cooked freshly by a decent respectful family as they do cook from heart. You feel like you eat at home and what a great amazing customer service if I could give more that five stars trust me I would . Thank you to THE RAJ AT MALDON & everyone at this lovely restaurant specially to the MUM AND DAD for the best food I've had in a long, long time! WE ARE VERY LUCKY TO HAVE AMAZING AND DECENT GENUINE FAMILY WHI COOK CROM THEIR HEART.🙏🙏❤️❤️

ordered a lamb bhuna delivery and was delivered a different dish instead. called up and the man said they would give us 2 free ones next time. next time we ordered they refused this and only gave us some vegetarian dish. never received the lamb bhuna that I ordered and paid for.

Poor tasteless, inedible food. Waste of time and money. When rang to discuss, no interest given.

I have had 3 or 4 takeaways from here now (over the last few months, not just today) and every single one of them has been absolutely tip top. With the 30% off of collections makes it unbelievable value for money.

DON'T EAT THE FOOD, IT WILL MAKE YOU ILL. WILL NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL

The veg jalfrezi was the best I have ever tasted and their lemon rice made a perfect combo. Plus we turned up just as they were closing and despite having started locking up, they let us in and were super friendly. Highly recommended.

Best chicken or lamb Naga around, delivery is always fast and food is always hot despite us living a few miles from Maldon. Keep it up guys !

They came highly recommended from the pub next door (right next door !!) apparently couldn’t find me ?? Will never use again ( can’t comment on food as not delivered!!) had an amazing Jeck chicken from Chelmsford in the end , that amazing found me straight away ????

On fathers day in lockdown wanted something special- ordered from the Raj - portions were huge - food arrived on time, hot and all correct- tasted FAB one of the best takeaways we've had - fresh indian spices and lovely onion salad - Biryani was so big and fragrant- will not order Indian from anyone else now 🙂 thoroughly recommend

Lovely Indian take away from the raj. We got delivery and love the Indian from here. It was quite busy on Saturday night but well worth the wait. The food was really good. We ordered king prawn purée, which was so tasty. If you like tomato, onions spicy sauce with prawns on a thin pancake. Definately order this from the starters. Ordered chicken tikka masala, chicken jalfrezi, pilau rices and peshwari and keema naans. Also poppadoms with onion salad and dips. All was so tasty and piping hot when it was delivered. Reasonably priced too. You got 20 percent off and then if you go and collect you get 30 percent off. Definately the best Indian take away in maldon. Definately be ordering from there again. Like always really good quality food and full of flavour.

If you like old school Sylhet cuisine, you will love this takeaway. The food is rich and spicy and the portions are big. Exceptional food at a great price, with reasonably quick delivery too

The Raj offers quality food at reasonable prices. Lots of variety on the menu all cooked extremely well.

Have had some good takeaway meals but of late can only say they have been average and even poor. The premises also leave a lot to be desired, very scruffy and not exactly clean or welcoming and makes you wonder what the kitchen is like! Staff are friendly enough but prices seem to be increasing, nearly £30 for a meal for two, consisting of 4 papadoms, 1 Nann, 2 Main (Standard Dishes) 2 Pila Rice & 1 Veg Curry. Veg Curry was disgusting and looked like frozen mixed veg fried up in a sauce. We are going to try the competition in Maldon and see how it compares.

A superb Indian take-away with the added bonus of home delivery. Great menu with plenty of variety, food is well cooked and represents BIR style of cooking wonderfully. The prices are really good and are my first port of call when looking for a local curry. Add in the fast friendly service and you cannot help but leave a 5 star review.

The first port of call for me when it comes to a local Indian take-away. Good menu, good food,good prices. Very accommodating staff. They also do a home delivery which is very efficient. Why should I go elsewhere? My tip?..I give it to the delivery driver.

my granddaughter and I fancied an Indian takeaway and I phoned up just after opening. I ordered the dishes we wanted and they were delivered within the time stated by the Restaurant. lovely food.

just had take away set meal for 1 for a 10quid . food was really good tasty. unfortunately I don't live locally but will go back there again. service is good

Arrived over an hour late, barely warm, the driver (who said he was the boss) lied about why it was late - lots of completely illogical excuses and then expected full payment. He wouldn't give a discount and took the tepid food away again. Lies and late food.

The Raj was always our first choice for our curry night. We've been away for a couple of years, and our experience of our indian has not been the best to be fair. So following a 30 mile round trip we made it back to the Raj, today and just the smell alone had me salivating!! Wow this is possibly the best indian food we've ever had. There is no way we'll be going anywhere other than The Raj. Service is always fantastic and even at busy times the food is served without delay. I defiy anyone to find a better tasting curry, for the price!! Five stars from us.

We have this once a week, it is so amazing! Never had a bad meal, and i'm very fussy! Half price on collection too, fantastic.

Never had a bad meal here and doubt I ever will. There always seems to be an offer of half price food if you are paying cash which also makes the Raj great value.

My girlfriend and I regually attend this restaurant for dinner.The service is always great, the food is very reasonably priced and the atmosphere is great I would recommend this place to everyone and my girlfriend and I will continue to return here!

The restaurant is nice but, i wasn't impressed by the food, could be more cleaner but the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Situated bang opposite Maldon's promenade park it's easy to find. Food is always of good quality and hot . We are lucky this is very local to us. Good value too.
