A wonderful find. An unassuming frontage, but a warm welcome inside and clean, smart well-presented decor and a positive vibe. The menu is extensive and imaginative. The chef knows exactly which way is up - delicious dishes, freshly prepared and tastily garnished. Don't hesitate, go inside and have a lovely evening. We did. And we'd go again. Thanks, team!

The food was delicious . Flavours were perfect. We were spoilt for choice because of the numerous vegan options. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to eat here again!

We have been to most of the eat in Indian restaurants in the area and Maldon Spice is tops. The food is excellent, the vindaloo is absolutely delicious, it had wonderful flavour and was hot like a vindaloo should be, I can't rate the food high enough. The staff were very attentive, the owner has a great eye for detail and regularly checked his standards were met. He showed us to a table where I would feel most comfortable, he has a good sense of humour too. The atmosphere was relaxed, the restaurant was very clean, fresh and nicely decorated,our entire experience was very pleasant, we will make this our 'go to' restaurant for our Indian meals out, our search is over 😊

Very chaotic restaurant!! One table were asked to move to other end of the restaurant, as they had been put on the wrong table. Food was average. Waiting staff were polite, except for the manager. The manager was very rude to the two young, waitresses. He spoke to them very disrespectfully!!

Fantastic food and service. The chef will adapt dishes according to your needs/likes and they are very aware of dietary requirements, food allergies and intolerances. They will do everything they can to come up with a dish that suits you. Well done!

Have been a couple of times before and had very nice food and service in the past , went again 25/8/23 and was blown away more than usual , boss man was entertaining and very pleasant guy , food was wow , Lamb really did melt in my mouth , I cannot rate this place high enough , even my other half's words were "that is the best curry iv had" and we do eat a few 😊make sure you visit this place and keep lovely restaurants like this alive.

We turned up, the previous place we booked were full and overbooked and didn't take us so we ended up last minute at Maldon Spice to our suprise! Party of 3 They had 2 tables left, asked if we booked, we said we hadn't, our fault, but still found the availability and space to sit us down and serve us, took our drink orders which came out immediately, ordered food came out within the space of 5-10 minuites, was attentive throughout the whole meal but not over bearing, best Indian food I've ever had, had the Tikka Mousala and the spice was just right, nice and creamy, I ate until I was full and still had a little bit of rice and Naan left on the plate, haven't been as fed well by a restaurant in ages, quality value and quality cooking I would give them 10 stars if I could, props to all the staff!

Came on recommended reviews and we found it small , friendly and inviting , friendly owner , my husband had the king prawn vindaloo and was very impressed with the flavors I would of liked a sag paneer, which is my favorite but they only do it with cheddar so skipped that , but very tasty nicely cooked food and was nice.y presented

Honestly can not rate this place high enough, a warm friendly greeting and were made to feel really special. We had our teenage son with us who is an extremely fussy eater, we ordered him nuggets and chips, he (the owner?) said- I have something for you to try. He appeared later with a piece of marinated chicken on a small plate and gave it to our son. I was convinced he wouldn't try it or, if he did, wouldn't like it. He ate it all and liked it, it was chicken tikka honey. Top class service, caring, personable and had a really great sense of humour. Our table of five had a fantastic evening. I've never experienced such above and beyond service in a restaurant, ever. Thank you.

This was our first visit on a Saturday night with no reservation but they found us a table..the food was superb and the staff brilliant..we will definitely be back

Best Indian in Maldon by far can’t believe it’s taken us so long to try this place” the food is perfect and the staff are so friendly and great with kids the manager is a very nice man made our family feel very welcome and the bar man was such a lovely young man would highly recommend this Indian. We have just come back from an amazing evening at Maldon Spice. The food was incredible. The service was excellent and the Manager is the most lovely guy. Ignore the bad reviews and definitely give this place a try. You really won’t be disappointed. Thank you so much. Eid Mubarak.

Thought we would give Maldon Spice a try as it has been revamped. The usual suspects were on the menu plus some chefs specials which we tried. The interior of the restaurant was nicely decorated and the table tastefully set. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. The food was nicely cooked and presented well, the meat in the dishes were of good quality and all the portions of a good size. We had a very enjoyable meal. The only criticism l have is the prices, for local Indian it is rather top heavy and I have paid less for the same quality hence giving four stars.

We have been to this restaurant before years ago and the experience was the same good quality. The staff are friendly the minute you enter. The food was really nice, well presented. The lamb garlic tikka balti was beautiful. Thank you.

It was our anniversary so booked a table for 2 the attention we received from all the staff was fantastic and although the restaurant was busy the owners made a big deal of our anniversary wanting to know how long we had been together and our children,the food was the best Indian I have ever had and the wine was reasonably priced when we finished and was ready to go more wine free of charge and a anniversary card what lovely people well worth a visit 10 out of 10 thank you so much.

worst experience iv had in a restaurant ever, manager is very rude!

We thought we'd try Maldon Spice for the first time as there are lots of restaurants to choose from in Maldon. We had a table booked for 7pm however when we walked into the restaurant no one acknowledged we were standing waiting for our table, given the size of the restaurant this was a tad awkward standing amoungst all the other diners. They didn't take out order for over half and hour and our food took well over an hour to arrive, by this point we were both a little frustrated (especially as my husband's chair was constantly being knocked into). When we did finish it was impossible to get the attention of anyone to get the bill and pay! I would also like to add that the owner/manager was being extremely rude to the young girl working there, calling out demands in front of the whole restaurants and appearing to loose his 'cool' a little. We were left very disappointed and we certainly won't be returning.

Owner Juhal cooked for me spicy lamb chops with roasted vegetables. Excellent flavours and spicy how i like it. Well Done.

Great food. They have vegan options on the menu, as well as vegan specials. The vegan specials are well worth it, very tasty. We love the staff, they have a great sense of humour and are welcoming.

Every time we eat here we are thoroughly impressed. The king prawn jalfreizi balti is out of this world. The breads, rice and other sides equally good. Can never find a curry house that lives up to this one.

I have only been in Maldon for a matter of months, but have tried out all the curry restaurants in the high street and Maldon Spice is the stand out winner. Great food, attentive but not over bearing service. I would highly recommend.

The food is always delicious and good quality. Best onion bhaji ever! Never disappointed. The owner is so lovely and even though our children are now adults he still recognises them whenever he sees them. We always recommend this restaurant to others.

The owner made a special dish called Kacchi Biriany - lightly spiced lamb slowly cooked in spicy, but not hot, rice, and topped with an egg garnish. The taste was amazing and we struggled to finish it. We'll definitely ask for that one again. Well...

Superb array of Curry's and chef specials, definitely the best curry I've had in the last 2 years. We were celebrating a birthday and we were made to feel very welcome and the evening was very enjoyable and relaxed. Will be back to try more authentic Indian dishes sooner rather than later!

We had an evening meal here and the food was excellent. Most of the staff were excellent, one waiter going above and beyond, but the manager, who was also taking orders and bringing food, was fairly rude and unprofessional (giving unasked-for political views) and they overall seemed quite short staffed. This made the meal less than relaxing.

We've spent much time in India inhotels and with my indian friends family...and eaten in Indian restaurants all over Britain...and this is definitely upgjete with the best. Exceptional food. Beautiful decor and amazing staff.

Booked a day before for my sons 13th birthday Was pleasantly surprised the staff had got him a 13 birthday balloon and card. Thank you!! The food was delicious and the staff friendly and attentive. Just had an Indian. I can say it was very very nice. The lamb and chicken was very tender. It’s quite rare to get a nice lamb dish, but I can say this was very good. I can say probably one of the best in maldon if not the best. The reason for my 4 Start review, The portions are quite small bearing in mind the food is quite expensive, £50 for two people I would hope I would have a lot but sadly this is not the case; in particular the chicken tikka masala only had 5 chunks of chicken. I would say if you could make the sizes bigger this would be amazing!

Just popped into this restaurant whilst visiting family..Warm welcome on arrival. WOW - This restaurants service, staff and menu is excellent.!! We have been here a few times. Now under new management since March 2021. The tacky ‘Elvis’ decor has long since gone and has been replaced by a lovely soft sage green. The new manager is very welcoming, helpful and comical and his staff are also very pleasant too. Overall I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this gem of an Indian restaurant (with its takeaway service too) to any lover of good quality spicy food.

We've been traveling to Witham for Indian food having failed to find a good source in Maldon previously. However we really wanted a local place so last night decided to give Maldon Spice a go. Glad we did, we had three meals (2 specials and a basic bhuna). All were excellent, very tasty, good levels of spice and good portions. The specials were a bit more pricey but the quantity of meat we got was around double what we have been used to so good value. Service on collection was very friendly although they were having a busy night apparently. We won't be going anywhere else now, glad we've got a "local" again.

Food was top notch. Venue is contemporary, clean and welcoming. It was really busy, always a good sign. Price is on the more expensive side, but it was worth it.

Had a takeaway, everything tasted fresh,excellent.
