Always a good night out with great food here. Recommend as highly as possible.

Order a takeaway for collection tonight as no one wanted to cook or go out. Ordered over the phone and was told half hour, arrived on time paid for food while waiter collected our food from the kitchen. Got home with food all was correct and tasted lovely, really nothing not to like well worth a visit or a takeaway from here. Friendly polite staff good tasty food.

As ususal a wonderful meal at the bhujon. Excellent.

Hadn't had an old school style Indian for ages, so nice to have had one. Can't complain food and service was top notch. Portions were reasonable and good vfm.

Had a great meal here over the weekend. There were 6 of us and enjoyed everything about our visit. Food and service was great and food very tasty. Restuarant welcoming and clean.First time we have eaten in the restuarant, normally was take aways. food always been great when visiting the area to see family. I had a large family gathering and opted for a take away from the Balti Bhujon on the strength of its reviews. As this was a very large order I visited the restaurant and pre-paid in full for the following day. To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement. The food was cold and had to be reheated. The sauces where thin and watery almost the consistency of soup. The onion Bhaji’s were small flat and flavourless. The meat in the mixed starter was hard,dry and overcooked,in fact it was inedible and most of it was put in the bin. The Cheese and Garlic Nan bread which I specifically asked for was ommited. This was possibly one of the worst Indian meals I have experienced. I did call and speak to the manager the following day and made my complaints to which he acknowledged but it was apparent from his replies that he would rather not be having this conversation. Very disappointed and underwhelmed and definitely not be going back.I would give zero if possible. Ending on a good note. I am glad to say that there are far better Indian restaurants within a short walking distance of the Balti Bhujon,I would recommend you keep walking till you get to them.

Food ready good, portions great real flavours, service was good and all served together as far as possible 20 of us let down by the difficulty in getting access with my electric wheelchair, they did help but I had to get out whilst the lifted it up 6inch step

Not bad but not as good as the reviews say. The good points are a nice big bright clean restaurant and what we saw of the waiters they were polite and friendly but that's about it. My Jalfrezi was nice and hot/spicy but the chicken felt old and chewy, there was hardly any veg in it other than onion where most others I've had are full of peppers and tomatoes etc .. and my naan was soggy and not cooked in the middle. The best dish was my saag aloo which was spicy and cooked nicely. I know we were there late with no one else in the restaurant but having I guess was a manager talking loudly on a phone in a foreign language and staff in the kitchen talking loud and shouting all of which I could hear over the music was off putting and ruined the experience after a long working day. So I didn't hate it but I will not be rushing back anytime soon sadly

Excellent restaurant really enjoyed the food, great seating arrangement so everyone isn’t too crammed together. Will definitely return.

First class service and food as aways

Appalling. Worst food I have ever had out. The food had ZERO flavour, to the point we assume it must have been out of date because the garlic didn’t even taste like garlic. We refused to eat most of it. They gave me the dry wrinkled end of the cucumber. The paneer was…not paneer texture. The chicken was sus…it looks like Tofu. Nothing had flavour…I have never had that in an Indian restaurant before. I didn’t know it could happened. It had colour…but no taste. Anyone could rustle up something 100 times better in a few minutes. Staff said they have had bad feedback and things will change in future…but didn’t offer to discount the bill. We left in shock.

Genuinely the best Indian I’ve ever had. I moved to Maldon 10 months ago and we have been looking for our new Indian in the area. We have tried 3 other local ones and none were that good honestly one made me throw up. But I won’t name that restaurant. This is the second time I’ve ordered from Bali bhujon and both times have been absolutely stunning ! I get chicken tikka masala madras’s hot and they make it perfectly! Thank you for such a lovely meal xx

Very reasonably priced and really delicious takeaway! It was easy to order and our food was ready quickly for us to pick up! I strongly recommend!

Food here is excellent. They always accommodate us even in large groups. The owner is very friendly and staff clearly enjoy working here. The only frustrating thing is that receipts are hand written with little detail which makes splitting a bill really difficult.

The staff are lovely but very disappointed last night , I got a takeaway for 4 adults . Really disappointed every curry container was half full ! Some reviews say it’s cheap , personally £10 for a dish isn’t cheap and when it’s half full it’s very poor , why not use smaller containers . Also I’ve never had such a hot spicy jalfrezi, that didn’t taste like a jalfrezi it ruined my meal . The lamb bhuna was also not nice didn’t taste like lamb. Sad as it use to be nice don’t know what has happened to it .

We ordered a large takeaway for my birthday party. The meal was ready to be picked up at the agreed time and the sixty guests were very complimentary on the taste and quality of the meal. The restaurant staff were very courteous and helpful in deciding the menu and ensured that we were supplied with very generous portions. This proved a very good choice for providing quality food at a large party for a very reasonable outlay. Thank you Jay and your staff very much.

We arrived on a busy Saturday night, having booked a table, and could see the restaurant was nearly full. It took a little while to decide what we would eat but the poppadums arrived whilst we were choosing. We decided on sorters as well as mains. Everything we ordered arrived together on time, and was really tasteful. Personally I had to finish not only my own dishes but help out m6 colleagues too, the flavour was good. We even had room for desserts. Overall, very pleasant environment, good service, well cooked and tasty dishes but a little pricey unless you watch how much you’ve ordered ! Would come again and choose different dishes to experience the range of the meals available.

Absolutely the worst I have ever had! Curry tastes like water. No flavour or texture whatsoever - avoid this place!

Went on a Friday night with my Wife. Was looking forward to going so much based on the claim of Balti served in a Balti pan. The venue is lovely, very clean, lovely ambience. Staff are courteous and attentive. All good do far. The food. Poppadoms were very fresh as well as the chutney roundabout. Starters Chicken tikka Sheek kebab Both lovely presented, chicken glazed and very juicy, as well as the sheek kebab. However, the chicken tikka despite the good looks was relatively tasteless. But you could sort of forgive it slightly as it was quality moist chicken pieces. The sheek kebab didn't taste anything like a sheek kebab. It was overly salty and seemed to lack the basic sheek kebab spices. Plus the lamb was a very weird tecture, a bit too firm in the mouth, almost slightly chewie. Mains Chicken Tikka Korai for Wifey Chicken tikka balti hot for obviously My Wife's Korai seemed OK, she confirmed it was nice enough but not a patch on our usual establishment. Now the Balti. First of all, it did not come out in a Balti pan. It was cooked on a hob in a pan and transfered to a small balti serving pan. I was fortunate enough to have grown up in Birmingham for 27 years, in the height of the Birmingham Balti Boom, and probably ate Balti on average 3 or 4 times a week with my mates. I also cook my own baltis in the traditional way, see my photo attached. Now in all my time, I have never tasted a Balti quite like the Balti at Balti Bhujon. Unfortunately that is not the high accolade you think it might be. Barely cooked crunchy onion, distinct lack of coriander, sauce was too thick and tasted nothing like in the close premise of a Balti, meat was tender, heat was perfect. But the big issue really for me is, it was not served in the karahi that it should have been cooked in. It also reminded me of a hompride jar curry i had at someones house once. It basically tasted nothing like a balti and barely like a curry at all. So many of these so called 'Balti' houses literally have no clue as what a balti is, the years of history behind it, what goes in it, the texture, and the pan it is supposed to be served in. Although I must say, the naan bread was very nice, and that is all you need to eat a Balti, rather than being pressured for rice a few times. So all said and done. If you are a curry or balti connoisseur and make your own Baltis and naan bread with your huge cupboard full of spices, I'd give the Non-Balti Balti Bhujon a miss. Or if you enjoy a bog standard jar curry from Asda or Tedco, then you will have a great night and will not be disappointed. We won't be going back Or if you like

Really nice Indian restaurant that offer great take away aswell

Meat tender, sauce thick with depth of flavour. Naan was fluffy and buttery. Portions are adequate and prices are average except the drinks which I would say are expensive but that's most restaurants. Air conditioned.

Went here last night with some old friends, venue was clean and inviting and food was at a fair price. Not rushed at all nor were we left waiting around, kept checking we had drinks which is good hate being left waiting for ages just to get a drink. Food was served at a nice steady pace, all correct and tasted lovely. Nothing not to like.

When looking from outside it's a bit deceptive as it looks very small. However, there is plenty of seating. The staff are very nice. The food is tasty, but a little bit milder than we are used to (in London). Prices are very reasonable. We will definitely visit again

We regularly get takeaway from the Balti Bhujon in Maldon. It is the only Indian restaurant we have takeaway from and has a very good food hygiene rating of 5. The food is of a consistent standard and travels well (15-20minute drive). We feel the takeaway for collection is good value and always finish all the dishes.

Some of the best Indian cuisine in the area. Great restaurant to visit and you can order take out with some amazing deals. Only one tiny downside is they do not deliver but if you go to collect you will not be disappointed.

We found this restaurant by chance whilst spending a couple of days visiting friends who live quite close. The food was amazing ! (the best tandoori chicken starter I have ever tasted !). The decor was lovely and the service was excellent. Can't say any more other than I can't wait to go again. Amazing !

Went here with family from America, they have never had an Indian Before and I think a little scared that they wouldn’t like it. How wrong can you be, they tried various curries, breads and rice’s. They were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the whole experience. We were all too full for desert after dinner and even had to take some of our meals home. A lovely evening with great food at a fair price, nothing not to like.

Booked a table for six, first chance to meet up with friends post lock down. Food and service was very good, no mistakes and all the food tasted good at a fair price. We were not rushed and was able to have a good catch up over a lovely meal with a few drinks. Friendly staff and good service what more can you ask for.

Ordered a takeaway tonight for family, nothing not to like. We were informed that it would be 45 minutes before it would be ready to collect. Arrived on time and food was quickly handed over and paid for, food was very tasty and fresh with no mistakes on our order. Looking forward to when we can go out for the night to the restaurant but until then this is the next best thing.

Just had the best takeaway from Balti Bhujon. Rang them to tell them and see if the chef had changed. Apparently not but it has been so good this last 2 weeks. See you next week.

Good food - only people in due to COVID 19.

Food was great but service was slow and there was absolutely no social distancing. Warm, no ventilation, all tables less than 2m apart and everyone touched everything.

As a regular of this restaurant, I can honestly say this is the best Indian restaurant in Essex, not just because I live 500m from it! The warm welcome you receive when you enter sets you up for the evening - a fantastic menu to tempt the senses and the beer list is amazing.The price is kind on the wallet and the portions are generous, so if you're in the area, do visit - you won't be disappointed!

Pre ordered a takeaway tonight, went to collect and found social distancing was being observed. Only two customers at a time waiting in different areas. Once food was ready easy to pay with the new upper contactless payment amount. Upon getting home order was correct and all tasted lovely. Will continue to collect takeaways until they can open again.

Ordered a takeaway due to the current problems, collected our meal with no issues. Food tasted nice and was as ordered. Not the same as going out but the next best thing for now. They are open for business as usual apart from takeaway only.

We have not used this restaurant for many years, can't remember why. Tonight our usual restaurant was closed so we thought we would give the Bhujon a try. We really had a nice surprise on eating our takeaway meal, it was one of the best we have had in a very long while. We shall certainly be back and if consistently good we shall make the Bhujon our preferred place.

Often come here with my friends and the staff are so friendly, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is perfect. A lovely place to grab a bite to eat with your other half or with friends.

We have been here before and have always had a fantastic meal. Tonight was no different the same friendly welcome and service,as well as more delicious food, our server was friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. The restaurant was very quiet but not a problem for me, we will definitely return for more.

Parents in laws local Indian, go everytime we visit, always great service, great food and friendly. Had a massive birthday party in and this didn't detract from their service

Food always good and service however we have a friend who has MS and is in a wheelchair, she has difficulty standing up from the toilet, I've asked at least 4 times whether handles could be fitted to the walls but it's never happened, hence we'll not able to visit anymore.

I love the Balti and have been coming here for years. Waiting for coffee and 2 waiters just on their mobile phones. Ahmed gone home so they just don’t seem to care at all about the clients. Disappointing and guess we won’t be getting coffee

Attitude of staff apart from an elderly gentleman poor. Waited 45 minutes just for them to take our order and when the food arrived it looked like chicken soup with a few pieces of chicken thrown in and this was a chef recommendation. No flavour whatsoever. Seats were dirty. As this had excellent ratings we were very surprised and disappointed.
