Had a take away, chicken tikka biryani, lamb madras & naan bread, massive amount of food (3/4 meals worth) really tasty, unbelievable value less than £20?!

Amazing food at a great, great price. The portion sizes are on the generous size, onion bnaji's are to die for. The free fresh salad/onions, two dips and poppadoms a a really nice touch. Where others restaurants have put prices up and cut back on portion sizes, and the complimentries they give, Dhan Shiri have carried it on. The service on phone is both polite and efficient, as is the delivery. We're new customers recently switch from another Burnham restaurant/takeaway, and we won't be going back.

Dhan Shiri is by far the best value Indian restaurant/takeway in the area. Their food always arrives on time and hot. Most importantly, the portion sizes are extremely generous and put nearby Indian restuarants to shame. If you don't want to be ripped off and enjoy some great food, Dhan Shiri is the way to go. Thanks again!

We ordered a takeaway for ourselves and 2 friends. There was no delivery available so we had to collect. In our estimation the food was no where as good as previous takeaways. We were shorted by 1 naan bread, and the onion bhajis were over cooked and dry. Our coconut rice was a different colour to previous and not very good. Sorry but we will not be buying again as very disappointed

Sag panir here is terrible and completely different to any other Iv had ? I feel like they have no idea about the dishes every time Iv ordered some completely different turns up ? I mean who put tomatoes in a sag panir 🤣 my drink was warm ? I mean come on I just spent £35 on a meal for my self waited 1 he and 45 mins for you not to be arsed to get a drink out the fridge ? That’s basics Iv tried and tried but you never even came close to sending me a edible meal ! Worse Indian by far can’t be real chefs in the kitchen

Oh my goodness, so wish we had read some of the earlier reviews before picking up a takeaway from this restaurant. Can honestly say this is the worst Indian takeaway we have ever eaten. So much salt in the chicken tikka masala and sag aloo it was difficult to eat more than a few mouthfuls. The portion of onion bhajees weighed a ton as dripping in oil and absolutely awful. Thought we’d try this restaurant for the first time and it will definitely be the last!

It was far too spicy. Normally have madras but this was insanely hot. Seemed like good quality and big portions but be aware of the heat!

We had a take away from this restaurant ,the food was disgusting. The sad thing is the chef can,t have any pride in what he served up throwing any old rubbish in the containers. Plus if you like spending most of the day in the loo try it for your self.

Phoned 1715 for home delivery order. At 1830 I phoned again to enquire ETA. Was told it's out with the driver. Had to make another call at 1900 as I had still not received my meal. I wasn't very happy with the service, so I requested to speak to the manager, who was now on holiday! Eventually meal turned up. After 30mins with the delivery driver, the meal was of course luke warm. This is one customer who will be ordering elsewhere, I'll stick to a cottage.

The food is always tasty and lots of it too. Always have enough left over for another days dinner. Only downside is, it always takes longer than they tell you. Allow an additional 30 mins on top. I'd they say it will be 40 mins, it is rarely ready before at least an hour

This place is a repeat favourite of mine. It has the best reputation in Burnham because of its award winning chefs and consistency. I almost always have jalfrezi and it is always just right. Not too much green chilli but still heat to that perfect jalfrezi strength.

Tried the Dhan Shiri resently on the recommendation of a friend (drive out from shoeburyness) got to say I was not disapointed large portion makeing it very good value biggest Chicken Tikka starter I have ever had, the main course of Fish masala was a delight, plenty left over so a doggy bag was a must, I suggest if you are going book up as there is not many seats (small) will deffinately be going back

Rice gritty and greasy, tarka dhal ridiculously salty and oily and not tarka'd, potatoes old and chewy, poppadoms tasted like cooked in overused oil, dhansak too too sweet. Threw half of meal in bin, inedible. If can't cook food to acceptable standard, shouldn't take orders.

I have takeaway from the Dhan Shiri about once a year, usually when other options are limited (e.g. Burnham on Crouch town centre closed off for carnival). The food here has never improved and can only be described as hideous. it reminds of the curries my Mum attempted to make in the 1960s. My take away meal was absolutely awful -Chicken Tikka meat that never seen a tandoor, king prawns that look and tasted like gristle, special fried rice that didn't contain a single whole grain of rice and looked like it had been put through a food blender, the dhansak sauce has absolutely no flavour whatsoever. The best thing about this meal was the free poppadum. Never again.

Could not face the kitchen, so ordered a takeaway from the Dhan Shiri which is just round the corner. I went for the set meal and added a king prawn dish for my husband. The prices are reasonable and the quantities outstanding. Taste and appearance excellent, with good sized pieces of meat and a sufficient amount of sauce. Popadoms great and dips and salad plentiful. Would have no hesitation in recommending this to others.

First time visiting for a takeaway after a recommendation from a friend. The portions are huge. Curries were very tasty, rice nice and free popadums also a bonus. I thought the Naan bread could have been cooked a touch more, but we did get three even though we only ordered two. I would like to visit again and try a different curry before passing judgement as the other local restaurants, not matter what you order, the curries always look and taste the same, and in all fairness, cost twice as much. But overall very nice first visit

I visited with a friend on a Friday night, we were the only diners in the restaurant. The restaurant is separated from the takeaway pick up and bar area by a pair of curtains, the restaurant was perhaps too well lit and had several runners on the carpet which the waiter tripped over. We could hear the conversation and bodily noises of a customer in the bar area which wasn’t ideal and created a slightly uncomfortable atmosphere. We asked for a wine list but told they don’t have a choice of wines and served with a fairly unpleasant glass of Pinot Grigio. Not a great start. Our food order was taken promptly and food served in good time. The food was tasty and very generous portion sizes. The texture of the bombay aloo was a little usual, tinned potatoes perhaps, but tasted ok. Staff were polite and service was good. Although not a great dining experience I would definitely recommend the food for takeaway.

Decided to eat in for a Meal, and the Dan Shiri Indian is absolutely brilliant. A small restaurant (with a takeaway counter) that serves the most amazing Indian food with very generous portions, (our table of four ordered a meal each and we probably left more than we ate).

I don't normally write reviews but I’ve got to say this, the whole concept work on so many levels. , very authentic and tastes delicious Amazing food, the flavours were the best fresh ingredients are used and you can tell a lot of pride and passion has gone into each dish Pretty impressed I'd recommend THE RAJ at Maldon to anyone to try, you will not be disappointed or hungry!!! One of the curry and all sort of Indian food I’ve ever tasted . My whole family and I love their food and we’ve been a customers for many years as well as most of my mate . Just to mention that all food are cooked freshly by a decent respectful family as they do cook from heart. You feel like you eat at home and what a great amazing customer service if I could give more that five stars trust me I would . I have only had a couple of takeaways, but when I collect the restaurant always have a very nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly. From a food perspective for me the portions are not very generous, and there is not as much meat in the portion as other local Indian restaurants. So if they sorted that I would maybe buy from there more.

Some of the tastiest dishes I have ever tasted. The chicken melted in your mouth, I didn't need a knife to cut it. The blend of spices and coconut milk was outstanding, especially in the saag paneer, which as a side added so much to the meal. The service was good and everyone was very friendly, and lovely surroundings. It was well worth the walk to the very end of the many restaurants, just wish we lived nearer.

We popped in here on the 15th October. The gentleman showed us to a table and engaged in chatting to my 6-year-old daughter, which she appreciated. Food arrived promptly. Very good service. The food was perfect. The gentleman was very chatty and both my wife and daughter really enjoyed being there. Not noisy and overall a very nice evening. Getting back to the food. All of us really liked it. I ordered a vindaloo, which was perfect. Not so hot it burned me; just right. The gentleman was very accommodating, and we have decided this is our new Indian restaurant to go to. 3 courses for 3 people and non-alcoholic drinks came in at under £100. Superb. David Myers
