City Spice in St Albans

Yet another great meal from city spice, never disappoints , top food at good prices 👍👍👍

It makes me sad to leave this review. City Spice used to be really good: good food, good service and delivery. This has gone downhill over the past 6 months. Delivery now is predicted 1 hour after ordering and arrives 30min late or more consistently. The food has lost some taste (used to love the garlic bread but the garlic is now nowhere to be tasted...) What's happened???? I'd be happy to pay a delivery fee if it makes it a lot better!!!!

Highly recommend I love this place for the biryani

Didn't bring my bottle of coke. I phoned up and the man said he can't deliver it back but if I call back he will add it to my next order. I asked are you sure you'll remember "yeah sure, I'll put a note". 2 weeks later I make a order and call up and they said they don't remember and they normally add a note and there's no note saying they owe me a drink. So I cancel my order and never going to come back. I've ordered from this place many times before and the fact that they'll loose a customer over a bottle of coke is pretty pathetic and nice one for lying to your customers!!

Place is dirty. Food is left on the floor in buckets and has given a few people I know food poisoning. Would advise to find elsewhere. Already been reported for poor hygiene by someone. Advise either sack staff and replace or just avoid in general.

My usual and regular takeaway order . Chicken tikka biryani’s, chicken tikka saag , takka dall , chips and Garlic nan . Very tasteful . Thank you city chef .

I was encouraged by the staff to join them for Ramadan during their time to break fast, where they had prepared comforting meals and gave me food to take home!

I have eaten all round St. Albans, every curry house and takeaway since the 1970s from the days of the Koh-I-Noor and onward, and all I can say is, this takeaway is right up there for service, and curries. It’s now my option for every takeaway when I fancy a curry, their food is simply superb. I can’t fault it, and I’ve had several since I started using it this year. Highly recommend 10/10

Well it was nice I went about a year ago

Really good food & reasonably priced. We ordered from here for the first time today and we very impressed. The food was pipping hot and delicious (generous portions too) Highly recommend!

i have ordered via Just Eat several times from City Spice, food is tasty and good value for money, always get an additional free poppadom which is a nice touch, lamb chops are delicious as is the chicken chat. the house salad could be more onion based, but my food arives promptly and warm and fresh

Hot fresh and well presented. large portions too.Tried to order on line but wanted something bespoke.... no problem. Staff very helpful and attentive.Went to collect, price on app was slightly different to what was asked for, but maybe that’s because I asked for something bespoke. That aside, food hot fresh and absolutely tasty and large portions. Would return and would recommend.I was unable to order chicken tikka dansak on line, hence the confusion.Great to find somewhere good and fast during lockdown3:0.

This is definitely the best curry I've ever had. Tried a few other places since moving here and this is still the go-to. A good level of spice and flavour and they also have the option to make everything vegetarian which is amazing. Lovely chaps too on the rare occasions I can get off my couch to go and collect the food. My personal recommendation is the chicken tikka jalfrezi, *chef kiss*

We have tried almost all Indian restaurants and take always over the year in St A but city spice is the best we've ever had, we have been using them a while now and they never disappoint consistently delicious.

This place was amazing, it has now changed hands. They are now serving up smaller portions of poorly cooked food. I could not recommend this to you 😡

My favourite takeaway in St Albans! Get the same thing every time but that’s because it’s just so delicious! I’d recommend City Spice to everyone. Great service and very friendly.

As a regular customer this take away never disappoint. The food is delicious and a varied menu. Great quality and value - chicken shaslik and the lamb biryani were incredible! The staff are always helpful with recommendations as well. You'll definitely go order again and again!!!

Honestly the worse takeaway I’ve ever had. Ordered through Deliveroo. Driver couldn’t find my house and spent 9 minutes outside despite me offering to come out and meet her. Food therefore lukewarm when it actually made it to me. Food completely tasteless, sauce had curdled, and the rice was so wet it left puddles on my plate and washed away whatever flavour may possibly have been in the food. Give it a miss.

The food is not fab. Please don't waste your money. Gulsham is 10 times better and chilli Raj is good. tasteless food No flavour. Also the cook is not a professional chief.
