Great food, delivered quickly in the village. Glad to have a decent old fashioned curry house so close by. Definitely recommend getting a selection of different dishes as they are all excellent!!

Food was wasted even the prawn cocktail is rubbery and inedible. Waste of £20. Will never order from here ever again so disappointed the chef let this go out the door never mind the restaurant.

Food was very late and once it got here it was cold. Had to reheat the food in the microwave. The popadum was stale. I’m guessing the food was with the driver for way too long as none of it was warm.

Honestly such a good take away service. Their food is great quality and tastes amazing. They were prompt on delivering too which is always a bonus on a Friday night. 100% recommend and will be using again!

We went just last Saturday with my wife and kids and in-laws. Everyone had a really good meal with great naan breads and the rice was really good. This is a BYO which was fine. I know this place has had a bit of stick over the years but we have been twice in 6months now and been very impressed. Should be far busier than it is for a village curry house. Give it a go

Fantastic food except onion bhajis which were dry and too crispy

The delivery time was in line with the expectations when I ordered, however when the confirmation came through this gave a later time. The food was delivered in line with the initial expectations which was great

When we ordered, we were told that the order time for delivery was 30 to 35 minutes. This was about 19.10. When the confirmation came through, it showed 20.15 which is 1 hour 5 mins. It was subsequenly delivered about 20.47 which was 1 hour and 37 minutes after ordering.

Live and work in the village and always heard mixed reviews for our local curry house. Decided to try it as it was our turn to host a venue for our curry club. 5 of us had dinner there Thursday. I can honestly say it was terrific. Why this place is not rammed is beyond me. Great service and excellent quality food and really good size portions. Read the review on here about the onion Bhaji only having two. They are the size of a cricket ball each not the usual flat hockey puck size from elsewhere Do yourselves a favour and drop in you will be pleasantly surprised.

Food is really good normally but the delivery was extremely late and I was told after asking on the separate phone calls where the driver was. I was third on the delivery . Food arrived warm and needed to be put in the microwave. This I hope is a one off as we order from then regularly and this doesn’t happen.

Dumped at the hotel reception. No receipt as requested so couldn’t even ask the guy to get me one. ANNOYING!

This really is an under appreciated establishment. The staff work so hard to provide genuinely freshly cooked, individual dishes at amazingly low prices. They have no licence so you need to go to the Coop nearby to get your tipple. The place is very clean. The naan bread is fluffy with a fresh bottom crust and the bindi Is not mushy but freshly chopped and delicately spiced. Even the poppadum accompaniments and mints are perfectly presented. How they make a profit I will never know.

Food is usually really good from here. This evenings meal was awful. Went in the bin. Paneer not cooked. Rice was dripping in oil. Naan was both over cooked and undercooked! Really disappointed. Tried to call restaurant but couldn’t get through.

My family and I have eaten curries from Indian Nights for the past 23 years. The food is superb, never a disappointment and always delicious. I have not once had a bad meal from here. The vegetarian curry is superb. Its a family staple. The proprietors are kind, generous and caring.

Excellent food. Friendly service. Mint sauce a wee bit spicy. Would've been good to have gotten an extra pappadum. Also, no lime pickle. ☹️ Apart from that, excellent.👍

We have had take away from Indian nights and eaten in the restaurant several times. I personally prefer to eat in as I think the service is excellent and friendly and I think the food suffers slightly when ordering take-away. I feel this is true of most Indian restaurant take-aways. The quality of the food here has always been excellent and as a fun evening out with friends, I can't criticise. The portions are perfect and the quality of produce seems very good. Too often in Indian's the meat, if ordered, can be tough and not of the best quality. I have not found this to be the case when I have eaten in. I would love them to re-decorate as it is very basic inside, like a dated front room in someone's house, and although top priority should be food and service, the decor and lighting leave me underwhelmed. Where some restaurants go too far with Neon lights and water features, there is a happy medium out there and I wish they would invest just a little to modernise. That's the only thing stopping me rating them excellent. If you can overlook this, which is easy, the food and service are very good. You won't be disappointed there. Also, you can't buy alcohol, so bring your own.

The service is very friendly and attentive. It wasn't my most enjoyable meal experience however. The BYOB was also a positive given there is a well stocked newsagents next door.

The food is always great here and the staff are always friendly. I travel from Hemel to get a take away as the quality and value can't be matched in Hemel. They don't provide free popadoms but that's effectively charged for in other places anyway. If you want great food in Hemel, you'll have to pay much more, even just for 2 people.

Really disappointing as we’ve moved to the area and love our Asian food. The spinach ‘paneer’ had what looked like mushed feta cheese- not the texture or taste we’re used to with paneer- didn’t eat it. The naan bread was gooey soggy pappy texture like it wasn’t cooked. The rice looked old- never had green coloured mushroom rice before. Popadoms burnt and chicken main meals sauce was a horrible texture with too much sugar. For the price and food we will never go back. If you’re looking for a nice deal with the best customer service try Markyate spice 8 minutes away!!

Rubbish service they cancelled my delivery without telling me!!! I had to call them after waiting for them to say it was then cancelled!! Happy to take my money in the first place though weren't they!!

Made an order through just eat at 8:30pm to be delivered at 9:15pm. I called at 9:40pm to ask where it was and the man told me it would be 20 minutes. I called back at 10:05pm as it still had not arrived, an older man then told me it had been cancelled and that I should 'go and get my money back from Just Eat. I called again 10 minutes later in the hope of getting through to the first man I spoke to, which I did. He said he never spoke to me, even though he did for 1 minute on the phone!! He also said they weren't doing delivery to harpenden that night, even though they accepted my order and I spoke to him at 9:40pm for an update on where it was!! Rubbish service, kept me awaiting around for almost 2 hours and didn't bother to tell me that it had been cancelled, and then tried to deny that they spoke to me in the first place! AVOID!

We have been to this Indian for many many years, there is no better in the surrounding area, whether it be eating in or taking away. The food is always fantastic and the staff are always a good laugh and very hospitable. As a Redbourn resident I am proud to have the Indian Nights in our village.

This was simply a choice of driving by and find the nearest restaurant. It’s an old pub converted into an Indian restaurant. It’s a clean establishment and appears as though it’s under new management which would explain a few concerns... The menu offered is the usual dishes along with the chefs specials. I ordered my usual signature dishes of sheekh kebab starter and a chicken korai main with plain rice and thin buttered naan. To start I has two popadom with chutney and pickle tray. This was the first issue... the onion salad looked as though it was a few days old as the onions and tomatoes had wilted. I asked the waiter to replace with a freshly chopped and he obliged and returned a few mins later with a nice fresh pot and redeemed on that point. The kebab was served hot but sadly they add red food colouring which tends to mask the seasoning and give kebabs a bland taste, the only saving grace was the added green chillies which made it ok. The main dish was served with plain rice which looked as though it had been reheated but in taste it was soft. The chicken korai was actually not bad as the chicken pieces were tender however the spice and seasoning was a little bland and the onions and capsicum were slight under cooked. The thin and crispy naan came out as rather think and doughy bread that had been burnt on the edges, the tandoori chef needs to improve his skill in making naans. I didn’t have the heart to return and only managed a quarter portion as it was simply too heavy. Overall not a bad but it can improve on ensuring that it serves fresh salads with popadoms and that the chef puts in a little more tlc when cooking the dishes and using the right level of seasoning and spices. Just for reference I have worked in the trade for some years and I have a certain expectation of how dishes should be cooked, hence my criticism.

Found the mushroom rice very greasy lamb bhuna was tough and had a funny after taste. The chicken Masala my son didnt like which he loves them

I am down in Hemel Hempstead on business. I went into this beautiful village for a meal and chose Indian Nights. This was a bad bad bad choice! I have had lots of meals in various locations this week and all were very good, until tonight. As I mentioned above: I love Indian food, but this is the worst Indian restaurant I have ever been to!! The starter was dry and tasteless, and my lamb tikka madras had lots of gristly bits of meat in it! In fairness the garlic naan bread was very good. In conclusion, if you are desperate for quick food go to one of the good takeaways on the same street for a different type of meal (Pizza, kebab or fish and chips). If you are after a quality sit down meal in this village then don’t even think about it and go to the cricketers pub down the road (awesome high quality food). I have never had such a bad and disappointing Indian meal in my life. Please take my advice and avoid!!!

Today my delivery order arrived close to an hour early, and the free delivery and £0 minimum order cost (and beautiful food) makes this place absolutely perfect. I'm very lucky to live so close to this restaurant.

Pedimos desde aquí el viernes por la noche, tenía una comida magnífica, probablemente la mejor comida hindú para llevar que hemos tenido y normalmente nos pide de lugares por lo menos dos veces al mes. La comida era tan fresca y limpia, no grasienta y fantásticamente entrega rápida! Me encantó y volveré a pedir de nuevo pronto.
