The best restaurants serving Indian food in East of England

If anyone was is looking for an Indian takeaway or sit in meal then I promise you this is the place to go, we moved here 2 years ago and I swear you I will never eat at another Indian restaurant again, I will also never order a takeaway from anywhere apart from here! The food is absolutely unbelievable and the staff are amazing, attentive, helpful and friendly, I cannot fault this place in anyway shape or form, everything about Indian moments is absolute perfection, if you are looking for either and nice meal for 2, a family meal or a party then do not look further than here, and if you decide to chose another Indian after reading this review then I’m sorry but you are stupid. I will forever sing Indian Moments praises because I absolutely love this place, I have honestly tried every single Indian restaurant in Harlow and hand on heart there isn’t a better Indian here, even in Essex, this is 10000% the best. Everything about it from walking in the door, atmosphere, food, drink, tables, chairs, EVERYTHING is bang on, hand on heart this is absolutely perfect for any occasion!!!! It has actually got to a point where me and my partner don’t just crave or fancy an ‘Indian’ we actually crave and fancy INDIAN MOMENTS, seriously I could talk able this place all night!!!!! Thank you for such amazing food and service guys, me and my family love it and will continue to return, even if we live an hour away, we will not ever go anywhere else! See you soon! 💪🏼🙏🏼

We called at 7:20 Friday on the odd chance we could get a table (not exp anything). They happened to have a table that was free until 8:30 and stated they had served the current tables and could serve us in that time of we were happy to eat in that timeframe. When we arrived the waiter seated us and took our drinks order. He then returned and stated that he'd informed the kitchen to expedite our meals to ensure we had as much time as possible to eat. The service was lightning fast, but didn't feel rushed. We finished up after around 40 minutes and spent the remaining time finishing our drinks. The consensus at the table was that the food was excellent. It was ideal for our group that just wanted to have a nice meal, at short notice and get back to drinking! Great food, excellent service and very accommodating. Will certainly visit again (booking ahead next time!)

Fantastic food Fantastic service the best

Had a takeaway king prawn shazlick yesterday evening. It was fantastic. Really tasty and nice and spicy. Not too hot. Have eaten king prawn shazlick at other Indian restaurants, but none tasted as good as this. Please let me know which chef was on, so when I return for the same King prawn shazlick, I can make sure I order from the same chef. Many thanks. Delicious

It may be in need of a bit of love and care, but Curry Tandoori consistently delivers excellent food. I've been eating here for 40-plus years and I honestly haven't had a bad meal. There are other very good curry houses in Colchester, which I occasionally visit, but Curry India is my go-to.

We moved from Stotfold to Cornwall 6 years ago. My parents came down to visit this week and bought us an India Lodge take away. Still amazing quality food, by far the best curry we have had in 6 years. We miss the India Lodge and the staff, especially Parvez. Thank you, we will be back for meal when we are next in the area.

Update in Sept 2024: After a 3rd visit, I have reduced my 5 star ratings to 3 stars for food and overall. The main reason is a decline in the taste of the food. The chicken dhansak was borderline OK. The meat samosas were small and almost certainly bought in frozen, pre made. The keema naan was good. Previously from visits in 2022 and 2023, I gave 5 stars on each of food, service and atmosphere. Food was excellent with very nice flavours. Service is very good. Atmosphere, even midweek on a Wednesday, was great because the place was almost full.

We had a wonderful meal on Saturday evening, the food was really tasty - big portions and great money for the value. The lamb bhuna was particularly nice!! The manager even came over to us to check the food was ok. The waiters also made sure the food came out quickly as we had booked the cinema quite soon after our meal. Thank you for a lovely evening, we will be back for sure :)

Great service great food even at late hours

Consistency is key. The Shapla in Attleborough serves the best Indian food my partner and I've eaten, consistently. Cooked by the owner so every interest in getting it right. Very friendly and personable staff. The portion sizes are no different to any other. Best in Attleborough by far. Keep it up

Great food and attentive staff (only downside was spice slightly lacking on vindaloo). We were surprised at how low the price was compared to the other Indians in Hitchin. Definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic food, brilliant service, Will definitely be making a return trip

So very disappointing from start to finish. We were a table for 2, empty restaurant apart from one other table, after a 30 minute wait we politely asked about our starters & why it was taking so long, the staff response was extremely rude. Won't lie, I've had better ready meal food from Iceland (the frozen supermarket store,not the country) We left upset, disappointed ,& still hungry Will not be returning OR recommending this establishment No star rating from us Total waste of money and time
