This was one of the only local Indians to deliver whilst on Holiday in Northwold ..food was delicious and arrived when they said it would..would highly recommend ..thanks guys

A birthday celebration 7 of us ordered food, all meat dishes tough and chewy, naan breads like ripping leather, all food luke warm. Missed two items off the order. Contacted them and they were very abusive and rude!! Certainly do not recommend!

Credit where credits due. The online ordering system probably wasn't great for our size of order. It was big. The guy perhaps was let down by a staff member or was on his own anyway, but he smashed it. Food was very good. We did wait too long, but it paid off. This was a Tuesday

We had a takeaway for 8. Delivered on time and hot. Curries were delicious, really spicy and just what the doctor ordered after a long drive. Lovely onion bhajis. Would definitely recommend.

Definitely more geared as a takeaway than a true restaurant. The food was plentiful and flavoured, certainly not the best I've ever had but equally not the worst. I've given 3 stars as it was middling in most regards

We ordered lamb biryani and samosas. The food was excellent and it arrived early which was even better! Highly recommend

Poor customer service. Had an collection time of 45 mins ended up to be 1hr 30 mins. Got the curry and had half the order missing. Wouldn’t provide a refund over the phone and wanted me todo a 20 mile round trip to collect the refund!

We rang in an order for a meal for 5 people at 6.00 to be delivered in Castle Acre at 7.15. It was delivered at 7.15 precisely and more importantly every dish was thoroughly enjoyed, starters, mains, side dishes and rice. Well done guys. We’ll have no hesitation in ordering again next time we’re back.

After many meals in "the other" Indian restaurant in town I was advised to try the Spice of Swaffham...we were pleased we did as it was so good..way better ...I will use this one from now on.

We have visited this place fairly often both for takeaways and sit down meals The restaurant is basic but very clean. The bar is a little limited but very nice,but in truth we go for the food and excellent staff (thanks suzi)and the great owner/chef Nothing is too much trouble and the food is fantastic Definitely a place to go again and again

I have been using this Restaurant/Takeaway now for many years and in the main the food remains consistent in quality as always prepared fresh. I sometimes sit in the Restaurant with friends who comment on how good it is and are always impressed with the excellent service from Abdul and his staff. He really does pride himself in preparing you an excellent dish. Long may it continue.

We came for a birthday meal, and went with a friend, who holidays a lot in India, and extremely fussy, he scored the food 9.5 out of 10. Food was superb! We had different dishes, chicken vindaloo, lamb Koriea, and Prawn delight, onion Bhaji, cauliflower alhoo, garlic Naan. It was all faultless. We are going again next weekend! Xx

I'm local and have tried most of the Indian Restaurants in the area.....I just keep coming back to Spice. Been a customer here for more than a decade and can't really recall a problem. Eat in is small, but comfortable and a nice atmosphere. The staff are great and the same chefs have been providing the food here for as long as I can remember. It's a standard if we want to go out for a birthday meal as my family all like a curry - vegetarian options are plenty and good quality.Can't fault the place.

Popped in for a takeaway on Sunday Night visiting daughter in Marham, very friendly staff and very quick service to cook up 3 lovely curries, Chicken jalfrezi was perfect heat and depth of flavour, ladies also loved their Korma and Tikka Massala , nice rice and naan too, all for £25 , even gave us free popadomsThey don't have a website, and facebook/google photo only has half the menu so worth phoning if you're a visitor, as they have a great choice of dishes

I don't live in Swaffham, or have any connection to any curry houses in the area. I have eaten curries on Brick Lane, Birmingham and even on the sub-continent (Delhi, Manali and places in between). This was, without a doubt, one of the best I have had.Proper fresh ingredients, cooked to order and not a trace of the "orange oil slick" that affects so many curry houses.The service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The building was basic, and is hidden from the main road - which may discourage people from visiting. Sadly they will be missing out.Those making negative reviews clearly either went on a bad day, or have some other agenda to that of making accurate reviews. Very happy to answer any questions relating to my meal - and will be driving to Swaffham whenever I fancy a curry from now on.

Ate In Here,Typical Small Indian Restaurant That Doubles Up As A Takeaway. Food Was Ok,Not Spectacular, Price was Ok. Would be a 3 or 4 Had it not been for an awkward Incident. The young Man On Front Of House Was Generally Very Good,Polite,Helpful, He Alone Is Worth An Extra Star! However Whilst Eating Our meal,Another Couple With A Child,who had ordered & just Started Their Meal,with Drinks,Poppadoms & Pickle Tray,Suddenly Got Up & Quickly Walked out, whilst The Young Front Of House Man was taking an order over the phone!! Not Sure Why they left,though may have been because they thought the restaurant was'nt warm enough?? As Soon as the Young Staff man came of the phone he reported it to the proprietor, who came out of the kitchen & did a complete Rant,He totally blamed the Young man for not stopping them/blocking their exit & said the cost of the meal was coming out of his wages!! All This was in front of us & another dining couple,not a pleasant experience & it certainly was not the young staff members fault.

Abdul, the owner and chef is such a nice person and boy does he cook a tasty curry. He values his customers and really works hard as a one man business to please everybody. Front of house Janis is also friendly and has done a fantastic job in stepping in for his sister on whilst she is off on maternity.

Quirky restaurant/takeaway tucked away. Not much ambience but the food and service more than made up for it. All our food came as if freshly made. Will definitely go again.

I have been here many a time over last 4 years (2017) mixed opinion for first 3.5yr. But lately they've picked up the game. Example main lamb meal: keema rice, a specific nam and a beer for £10. Can't grumble

Was looking for a local Indian other than what have used already .... Found the spice of swaffam on line and after reading reviews we ordered a takeaway ..... Had to wait as the guy was cooking on own but when received the food was delicious and cooked fresh to order.

Hidden down a little side street, at first it looked a little dubious, but it was definitely worth the search

Been here lots since working in the area (I'm slightly addicted to Indian at the moment) . And always had a fantastic meal, in fact I'm ruined now for other curry houses as this is by far the best I've ever had. Don't be discouraged by the lack of people dining, I've been several times and we've been the only party in the restaurant... Probably mainly due to location it's set in the back street rather high street. Very much recommend.

We really enjoyed the meal and they dont rush you, which we found to happen at other places, its calm relaxed and the food was great

We were looking for takeaway in Swaffham and spotted this new Indian. It is a restaurant as well as doing take away. The food was very good it was not full of oil as some Indians can be. The flavours were suttle nothing over powering. I will defiantly be going back.

This is a family run business with a small and pleasantly decorated restaurant. The food is enjoyable and excellent value for money. Friendly staff and very happy to have this as a local take away.

New to swaffham i popped in by myself early doors. A takeaway and modest sit in restaurant combined. Food was good quick plenty fresh and hot. Staff friendly and efficient. Excellent value if you are on a budget.

Love my local Indian, usually go every two weeks just two of us, but also with family and friends.The décor isn't brilliant but the food makes up for this. The staff are very friendly and hospitable and bend over backwards. The prices are reasonable, the only downside is the wine choice is lacking.If you want to book a special occasion they will do items off menu and make a real effort to give you a good evening.

Fairly standard Asian fare served quickly by friendly staff at very reasonable prices. We actually prefer our food a lot more spicy than this but it is difficult for such outlets to get the balance right when serving a predominantly English clientelle.Well worth a visit for a quick reasonably priced meal.

This restaurant fails to reach the standards I am used to in Greater London, the ingredients seem inferior and I suspect that a lack of competition allows the restaurant to get away with a standard it might not elsewhere.It could be my taste for veggie food but Indian restaurants are usually good at those dishes and i find this one disappointing.

Enjoyable trip to local Indian while staying isn Swaffham. Restaurant is small-is but was completely empty when we were there. I get the impression it's more of a takeway joint for the locals. Decor is loud and dated but shouldn't put you off. We were told it was the best Indian in the Swaffham area, and I wouldn't be surprised if that was true.

This place is great the food is amazing good service and very good value for moneyI will be back to this place for sure if it was closer to me i would go every week

This is a small takeaway and restaurant tucked down a side street but they serve the best Indian i have tasted..the service is great and staff are very pleasant,,been using this for years never had a bad meal..also half the price of other takeaways but lovely food..a must if you in town...

First day back at work yesterday after the long summer holiday so we spoilt ourselves with a take away from here for tea.As always what we had was first class. I'm very fussy when it comes to the quality of meat but I have never been disappointed with the quality of chicken and lamb from here. The dishes are full of flavour and I always find myself going back for seconds....and thirds!As regulars we are always warmly welcomed and the staff are happy to advise us on new dishes to try.A hidden gem in Swaffham.

I went to this restaurant with my fiancee and another couple. Personally after reading the reviews on this site can't believe I was eating in the same restaurant!The eating area was untidy and cold. The waiter couldn't understand English hardly at all. He had no knowledge of what was on the menu. The poppadoms brought out were slightly stale and the sauces had a film on them like they had been sitting for a good while before we came in.The main course was tasteless and absolutely covered in grease. The naan bread was hard in places and not the soft consistency everyone loves.Overall I felt that no effort was put in. Glasses were streaked, cutlery was dirty and even the tablecloths were stained from the last people that ate here. The upside is that this Indian is fairly cheap. However this should not be in sacrifice of what I consider to be basic hygiene standards. I would not eat here again. If I want an Indian meal I'll go 12 miles down the road to Downham Tandoori where despite the similar price point your are rewarded with a much more professional and authentic Indian restaurant.

Situated in an "off the beaten track" position (50 metres from the market square. This restaurant and takeaway is nevertheless well worth a visit. Try to ignore the fact that this is not the smartest eatery and focus on the excellent service and well cooked food at a reasonable price.

Having walked past The Spice of Swaffham several times and thinking it was just a take away, I spotted tables through the small window and decided to give it a try. I am pleased that we did. It is small and basic, furniture-wise, but attentive staff more than made up for this. With a steady turnover of people collecting their take-aways, it is obviously well liked locally. The menu was straight forward & similar to many restaurants, but when the food arrived it was excellent, well prepared and realistic. Spiced just right for both our palates and served hot to the table; side dishes and pickles were good and enjoyed the cucumber raita especially. Certainly will try it again, either eating in or take-away.

Although this is a small restaurant and hardly ever full it serves the best Indian food in the area and we regularly travel here from kings lynn. The waiter is always friendly and service is goodHighly recommend

Had dinner alone in this Indian restaurant, service was very pleasant and the food was just fine, laminated menus an simple décor but well prepared food, made this a good visit.

Really nice atmosphere, calm and relaxing place, for sure. The experience that I had there will last for a really long time. I like it a lot and have been here four times already. I can not wait to go there again to try out the other courses. The prices are reasonable, I'd say very reasonable and you can have a filling meal from £10+ and the portions are huge! The Service is quick and The owner and head chef Abdul, is friendly and humble and his cooking is amazing and I'd score it a 10/10. Only issue I'd say is that it's not a large, packed restaurant, but that comes with it's benefits too.

Ate here on Sunday night after reading the reviews. We chose the '4 courses for £10' deal and were surprised that it included everything on the menu, although we had to pay £2 extra for king prawn. The restaurant was empty and quite cold so we had to eat with our coats on. The place was nicely decorated and clean and tidy but all the plates were greasy, which did put us off a bit. The menu was straight forward but lacked any description as to what anything was so we had to ask the waiter. When the food arrived it was very hot any plenty of it, so no complaints there. We would recommend this restaurant as on the whole you you wouldn't be disappointed.

I come with my 2 friends at least once every 2 months. Love the food, although it can taste different depending on whether Adul (owner) does the cooking or not. What it lacks in ambinece is made up for with the friendly staff and quality cooking.

Went here end of last year. Not that keen on Indian food but the wife loves it so though i'd give it a try. Glad I did! The Food was excellent, and i mean... EXCELLENT, i ordered seconds despite being very full. Will be returning here again within the next couple of days.

I ate here on the basis of the previous three reviews. Whoops, what a mistake! Sorry guys, but it was close to one of the worst Indian dining experiences that I've ever had and I've had literally thousands. The poppadums were cold and old. The yoghurt dip that came with them was watery and tasteless. The rice was served on a cold metal dish so soon followed suit. The onion bahjee was almost certainly not home made; it was completely tasteless, unless you like chewing cardboard and completely lacked any seasoning. The lamb achari contained small pieces of tough lamb and the sauce was extremely disappointing. The atmosphere of the restaurant was uninviting, far too bright, bland and frankly not so clean. The service was quick (in fact too quick) and I got the impression the waiter wished he were elsewhere. There is nothing at all that I can recommend about this restaurant.

This small Indian 'cafe' has very few covers and does most usiness in take away orders. The cafe style is very agreable with attentive personal service and really excellent food, cooked freshly to order.The simplicity adds to the charm and is reflected in very reasonable pricing. A very good value and authentic meal, from a suitably extensive menu.

This restaurant has a very unassuming exterior but the food is wonderful and tastes the way good Indian cooking should. It is all fresh and cooked to order by a friendly chef with 25 years experience. I appreciated that it was flavoured very fragrantly so all dishes had a different taste (and not overly spiced with a generic sauce as sometimes is the case). We called in on a Thursday evening and again on Saturday it was so good - and the food both times was first class. We are so glad to have found this place which will now be our pit-stop - both to and from - on our journeys from the Midlands to Great Yarmouth. All of the staff were helpful and cheerful.

Only a small place with limited seating, but service and food both first class. Prices competitive. Only criticism is that the staff seem new and lack experience with some of the dishes.
