Rajmoni in Brentwood

This restaurant is a real gem. Beautiful Indian food. Superbly cooked with friendly service. The Chefs specials are terrific and unusual. Highly recommended.

Convenient location 2 mins walk from Brentwood Station. Warm quiet friendly comfortable. Excellent quality food, reasonable cost.

We ordered a takeaway from this restaurant on the 9th of February. Several parts of the meal were sub standard ( seemed like last nights food recooked ) I contacted the restaurant direct and asked for a partial refund. I received no reply from the restaurant so after a week ( I was out of the country ) I telephoned the restaurant. My first call was answered by a member of staff who refused to take my complaint and hung up on me. I telephoned a second time and asked for the manager, the person that answered said he was the manager, Ali, I detailed my complaint regarding the quality of the food supplied, he stated that he could not issue a refund as I had ordered through a third party. I tried to explain that no matter who I had ordered through, the unsatisfactory food was supplied by his restaurant, he refused point blank to listen to my complaint. No way to deal with customers, I will never order from here again. If there is a head office, feel free to contact me to discuss !

Very pleasant meal, first time for quite a while. Service was good and welcoming - welcomed back as old friends. Food was very enjoyable. Pity that it was so quiet, hopefully more people will go back and give it the atmosphere it used to have.

Ordered our food. After 1.5 hours still no food. Lied and said it had left the restaurant 5 mins ago. Then said they were cancelling our order. Then said via Just Eat the order was completed, thus telling lies again and blocking a refund. No food, no refund, no customer service. DO NOT USE THIS RESTAURANT! Totally unreliable.

We have just had our first dine-in meal here since a refurbishment, and are pleased to report the food is up to the previous high standards; unlike so many Indian restaurants, the food is never swimming in oil and still deserved the accolades received for being healthily prepared and cooked. We have also now signed up for a delivery service direct with the restauant rather than use any other local Indian through Uber Eats or Deliveroo, purely because of the quality. On the Friday evening we attended, the service was absolutely first class - our waiter was polite, efficient, knowledgable and charming. The food arrived in good time and piping hot, and you can see everything from the linen to the cutlery and crockery is scrupulously clean. Combined with a wide choice of 'traditional' and unusual dishes, we have decided we need not lok anywhere else for a curry.

This is our favourite & go to Indian restaurant which we have been visiting regularly as a family for several years. Food & service always excellent.

Horrendous experience. Phoned the restaurant to book. The guy I spoke to on the phone was rude and very quick to end the call. Got to the restaurant took ages to take both our drink order aswell as our food order. Even though there was two waiters doing nothing. Starters took ages to come and service was slow even though there was only 2 other lots of customers inside. When taking our order the waiter actually LAUGHED at our order! I then heard him taking another girls order and say ‘is that all for you?’ Disgusting! After our starters the restaurant experienced a power cut which was no fault of their own. Another gentleman from out the back did his very best to serve us and brought us out what they had left after about a hour of trying to get the power back on, we had some chips, rice and a chicken tikka main between 3 of us but granted this was the best they could do for us and did not charge us for this main. We thank that specific man for this. However the other man the main waiter was rude. Spoke to every other table in there and explained about the power cut but nothing to us. Luckily for the others they had been served their mains before the cut. Which the waiter kindly kept repeating to them saying how lucky they was for timing. Almost rubbing it in that we hadn’t had ours. We could also hear the waiter explaining how many times they’ve had power cuts before. The same waiter was shouting at a younger boy who was working in there to rush the food out as the power went. If that was my son working there I would NOT be happy with how he spoke. Absolutely vile. Our bill was £69 this was 4 vodka and cokes. 2 normal cokes and 3 starters. Never again. Stay away.

As a vegetarian and lover of curry who could not find any Indian takeaway that didn’t provide just barely detectable vegetables in a greasy soup for a takeaway meal, the Raj Moni was my saviour when it began to offer Quorn dishes and other food cooked in a conservative amount of olive oil. Alas, notwithstanding the very friendly service, it has now fallen back into the ranks of most vegetarian Indian takeaways which are far to oily; not only that but having gone in to order and with only two people in the restaurant, the onion bhajees were still oily and cold when I got them home (obviously pre cooked and not properly warmed up). My wife and daughter, who are meat eaters were equally disappointed. What a shame.

Booked a table for 6 but when we arrived and till we left restaurant was very quiet, so could have walked in ....but Boxing was on tv and a lot of Christmas parties on as close to Christmas could be reason. Drinks and popadoms arrived promptly. Food was very tasty and good portions. Service efficient and friendly Our friends local Indian so if we go out and don’t have a takeaway this is a favourite. £210.00 for 6 including drinks

My sister-in-law is a regular at Rajmoni's, so whenever I stay with here on holiday, we also visit Rajmoni's. The staff are charming, welcoming, and the food is excellent.

Have dinner here on and off for years. I especially like it as they cater very well for us vegetarians by serving all dishes with the option of Quorn. The service is great. It’s definitely not the cheapest Indian in Brentwood but the food is good.

Very good even though there was only one waiter on duty. The food as always was excellent. However it’s a lot smaller than before the renovation.

Rajmoni is still our date night favourite. They have recently had a big renovation to the restaurant and have cleverly made it feel more spacious. They've also brought the kitchen upstairs to the restaurant level and you can smell the food cooking which is lovely. Rajmoni are very focused on healthy eating and in all their meals they now use Lo Salt and a minimal use of ghee and butter and they are free from additives and colour and there are not more choices for vegetarians. Having recently discovered Parathas we found this a less filling choice to a naan bread which meant we could eat more of their delicious dishes. I highly recommend the Onion Bhajis and Chicken Makhani (Butter Chicken).

After being told we could only eat in another brentwood indian if we were quick as they were closing soon my friend and i moved onto the rajmonie as they were open later . We rang ahead and they were there to greet us upon arrival. Ive eaten here before and as always the food and service were excellent and with its recent refurbishment the whole evening was very enjoyable most definitely worth a visit

We visited Rajmoni tonight and had a fabulous time. The food was absolutely amazing, every dish was tasty and fresh. The guys there were so helpful, lots of recommendations and really good service. We’ll be back very soon!

Our daughter and partner have always good food here as has my husband but since reopening something is wrong.My chicken tandoori was really dry,the cucumber raita was thickened and did not taste of anything.The prans were ok.The mushroom rice was greasy.Our grandson asked for chicken nuggets which were on the menu but they didn't have any.The prices were a lot higher than the same food elsewhere in Brentwood.We also had to pass our food across to our friends instead of having it served individually by the waiter.Shame a birthday celebration was spoiled.Hopefully this is just a blip!

We love the flavour and style of the food here. Great taste and not greasy. Plus great vegetarian options and do Quorn options too. We recently tried the Sunday buffet, rally good will definitely be going again soon. Friendly staff too.

Staying in Brentwood for business , spotted this place on trip advisor thought I’d give it a go . I went in early on a Monday tea time with only 2 others in their i was worried I’d made a mistake. I need not have worried it was excellent and well priced.

We have eaten here a few times, and being Indian curry lovers, we can safely say this is the best in town by far! Super quality food, excellent service and a nice ambiance. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed! Enjoy!

Just had a great meal at Rajmoni, yet again. This is our favourite Indian in Brentwood, and for good reason - excellent food, great ambience and marvellous service, especially from Saddiq. I had an amazing tilapia fish dish and my husband had the Rajmoni mixed special. We can definitely recommend it here!

We love Rajmoni. The food is excellent and the service is brilliant. Attentive but unhurried by friendly waiting staff. There are a wide variety of options on the menu, including Quorn for vegetarians. It is very reasonably priced high quality food in stylish surroundings.

Walked in tonight after a couple of drinks in The Essex Arms because it was raining and couldn’t be bothered to walk to the high street! What a find! We both thought all our dishes were excellent, the staff looked very and unhurried and there was quorn on the menu so bonus for me, a vegetarian . £40 for 2 mains, 2 sides, 2 rice and 2 drinks. We’ll definitely be back

The quality is consistently high - service is always good and we enjoyed our takeaway. It would help sometimes if the dishes were marked - telling the difference between a Passanda and a Makhani (when you are not an expert) can be a challenge.

I’ve very high standards when it comes to food and am regularly disappointed, but Rajmoni is absolutely amazing!! The dishes tasted fresh, fragrant, healthy and tasty. I literally cannot recommend it enough. We’ll definitely be coming back to eat in!

Absolutely love this place. The best take away curry I’ve ever eaten. Amazing vegetarian options including quorn dishes. All curries made healthier with no compromise on taste, in fact they are incredibly tasty and not swimming in ghee/oil. Highly recommend and love having a take away from here when I visit my brother.

My husband and I go to the Rajmoni every month for date night.

We were the only ppl in here so the service was fine. I had chicken dupiaza but it was super bland and not very hot to eat (as in oven hot). My partner had lamb Hamzun. You could taste the orange but again no spice and not very hot.

Been here twice now with a family party of about 12 and both times had an excellent experience. The food was very tasty and well presented and staff very friendly and attentive.

Maybe I’m out of touch but I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the bill. £74+ for four people for very basic, average tasting, small portions and (even smaller) sides. It’s not like we did it all on booze as we only ordered a few halves of lager and a soft drink. They couldn’t get us out of there fast enough to close either. But seeing the breakdown of the bill - £9 for for poppadoms - has the world gone mad?! Won’t be going back.

Hadn't visited Rajmoni for few years so booked a table for Sat night. Arrived at 7.30, took ages for orders to be taken, food didn't arrive until 9pm after we had chased. We ate meal as we were hungry but everything looked and tasted the same. No difference between each veg dish or my chicken dish! Will not be going back.

Visited with friends for an evening meal, staff are friendly and service was good, food average for an Indian and only has a 4 star hygiene rating.

While on business in Brentwood, needed to escape the usual hotel restaurant food and get a change of scenery. Following looking up online for restaurants in Brentwood, found the Rajmoni, a short walk from Brentwood centre. The friendly staff wasted no time welcoming me in, finding me a table and serving me a drink and poppudoms. The restaurant atmosphere was relaxed and really nice. The staff and service is excellent as was the food. The mixed meats platter starter was served sizzling in a skillet and was excellent. The house special main was recommended by the waiter and was also excellent. There is nothing I can fault at all about this restaurant and I look forward to visiting again. Thank you.

Nice little restaurant. Slightly dark inside, but I guess thats the look they are going for. Staff were attentive and food arrived promptly. Tasted good. No problems.

Went with foreign work colleagues for a quick meal and was impressed. The staff were helpful and made sure our vegetarians were well catered for. Only criticism amongst some superb flavours was that the food could have been hotter both temperature and spice, but some unusual and delicious dishes with mint, lemon and other ingredients that made dishes shine.

Haven't been here for a long time but remembered it as being a good contemporary Indian restaurant with a very interesting menu. We were not disappointed. We both had fish dishes and they were equally delicious, really fresh tasting and well cooked. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and plan to return very soon!

Not knowing the area the recommendation of Trip Advisor for this restaurant was first class. Smallish restaurant tucked away but the food was delicious and the service was very good. It wasn't particularly expensive and I would recommend it.

Great food and great service always. I love that the Rajmoni offers healthier options and has great choice for vegetarians. I had a Quorn tandoori dish which was superb, a lot of popular dishes are offered with Quorn as an alternative. The vegetable based dishes are equally as good. My partner who is a meat eater was equally impressed. Brentwood has a good choice of Indian restaurants but this is the one we return to again and again. I ordered a glass of white wine and there was only one choice when ordering by the glass, it was not great so I probably would not order that again....this is the only thing I can fault though (plenty choice by the bottle). Good value for money also, you will not leave hungry!

We held a buffet meal for 60 people and have say the service and food was extremely good. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was hot and plentiful. We explained the event was in aid of a charity and there generosity was most welcome.

Always go here first, though after our last meal I think I maybe literally going straight across to the curry house on the other side of the road! Meat dry and over cooked. Was a little ill from a few days before so was my own fault I didn't complain a little more. The service it self though was better than ever and all the waiters were looking sharp. Shame food let it down.

Ordered a takeawy last night. The food was low average. My son had chicken and chips which was terrible. However. having been through the menu we reckon we were overcharged by at least £10. There are so many quality and reputable restaurants around. We know for next time.

We were taking part in a 2 day running event and we booked in advance and send our food choices through about a week beforehand. We arrived in the restaurant around 10.15 and all 25 of us had food and drink in front of us within 30 minutes.The food was excellent, and very well priced.The staff were superb, efficient, polite and very smiley. I am lucky enough to live near this restaurant so have been many times. Food is always good. Staff are great. We often have a take out / delivery from here too.

Love love Indian food and I personally have to say Rajmoni is just perfect for me. Am a regular customer both take out and eating in. So far I have had no complaints with this restaurant, my food is ontime and perfectly cooked. Everyone I have taken out to Rajmoni or I have recommended it to all speak highly of it. The staff are all very polite and helpful, they make you feel welcomed and comfortable at all times. My kids and husband also love going here as the atmosphere is so relaxed. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I visited Rajmoni with a group of mates on Saturday evening and wasn't disappointed. We all really enjoyed our meals, the food was fresh and full of flavour and fairly priced too. The staff are very welcoming, attentive and friendly. I've eaten takeaway from here before and that was lovely too. It's also good for vegetarians as they use Quorn in their curries rather than just veg!Parking is a nightmare but it's what you'd expect as the restaurant is so close to the station.Would definitely visit again!

I have come here countless times with my family and we have always been impressed. Very friendly and welcoming staff who are very attentive. However for the first time in my memory service was at snails pace but wasn't due to waiters. It seemed kitchen staff were having a nightmare and all customers recieved late food (some of which walked out). When our food came it was excellent and very fresh, we also recieved a complimentary drink due to the delay. Lovely people, excellent food, just a shame on the delay!

My Bangladeshi boyfriend and I (a Brit with a good tolerence of spicy food) thought we would order a Valentine's Day take-away. We found the customer service very polite, warm and accommodating when we asked for slight modifications with certain dishes.Unfortunately; the dishes were bland, and tasted very much like microwave meals. On the plus side, the chef cooks with oil rather than ghee, so we were pleased that we didn't have to worry about cholesterol. The portions were also very generous. The order came with a complimentary red rose, which was a nice touch, but we won't be going back there any time soon. The Jaboraj across the road is far more expensive, but has much tastier cuisine, although they do not deliver.

As a frequent visitor to Indian restaurants, this has now got to be one of my top 3. It was my first visit to this restaurant but it certainly won't be my last. The service is first class and the food even better. I can't recommend this highly enough and I certainly don't have an opportunity to say that often nowadays. See you again soon. Mike

This is our "regular" Indian and, nine times out of 10 it is very good. The service is usually very friendly and is also good for home delivery. Recommend the mixed Tandoori platter and, if booking, ask for a table up on the banquets as it's more comfortable. Not a great wine selection if you are into your wines but my husband says the beers are good. Good value for money.

there's plenty of Indian restaurants to choose from in Brentwood, but I always find the food here decent, not too expensive, and the service is friendly.All the food is fresh and tasty, and it's where I go back to if I need a curry fix!

This is my local curry house and must say it's the best in the area. Not the greatest location for some as it's not near the high street but worth the walk. Keep up the good work all!

this is my favourite Indian restaurant in Brentwood, as the staff are always friendly happy to help. I have ordered from here many times and they never let me down. So today I decided to eat in their restaurant and was not let down. The waiter that served us was cheerful and when we asked questions about how spicy or how big the portions were he was very honest and gave us helpful feed back. The food was lovely and hot and we even took some home to enjoy another day .

Nice restaurant on Warley Hill in Brentwood. Attentive friendly staff. More effort required with food. Chicken Tikka Bhuna consisted of pre-cooked chicken dropped in an over sweet and over orange bhuna sauce for a few minutes. Decent flavours though. The coriander nan was again just a plain nan sprinkles with a few leaves of coriander and stuffed in the tandoor for a minute. Food needs to cook in the sauce to infuse. A lazy effort at an Indian and nowhere near as good as my first visit. A short walk will find better

The food in the restaurant was great it had all the explosive flavors as well as the spicy kick which i ordered. The atmosphere in the restaurant is calm and relaxing also the A/C was great making it comfortable to sit and eat. From my time at Rajmoni i will visit it always, great food, great service.What Else Do You Need ?

Well after the performance finding this place as our driver from the hotel which wasn't at all far away took us to another place. We eventually found it after the phone call to the restaurant and them talking through where they were, we was impressed on how friendly and clean this restaurant was nothing was too much trouble the food was excellent and would defiantly return

Working just around the corner it's a nice stop. Given the number of curry houses available on the street they are my first choice each time.

For the first time I have found an Indian restaurant that serves quorn dishes . That in itself was amazing but even better the curry was delicious. It was such a treat to be able to have a meal other than just vegetables as a non meat eater. .

We had our Christmas works meal here on a Tuesday evening, which offers three courses for £12. Tremendous value.Food is top draw, really delicious and the staff are great - really friendly with wonderful customer service.Highly recommended.

On a Tuesday night there is a special offer were by you get 3 course for £12. You can't choose form the full menu but is it extensive and great value for money.

Cannot praise this indian enough. My third Vist to Rajmoni it was amazing. The decor is beautiful and the atmosphere was fantastic. But best of all the food was so tasty and always hot and fresh. Salik made us feel very welcome. A+++++ ++++++++defianately coming back

The Rajmini is quite a find. Behind its unassuming shop front is a modern resteraunt which specialises in Bangladeshi cuisine rather than "curry". The food is great and the menu lists how healthy it is; something I haven't ever seen on a curry house menu before. If you are looking for something teeth numbing to guzzle down after a night on the beer then the Raj Moni will probably be wasted on you but if you are looking for great asisn food then you will be delighted to have discovered this treasure.

We chanced upon this restaurant one night earlier this year and thought it was amazing. Since then we have returned a further 3 times - taking the chance to visit when we are down in Essex visiting family. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and although it's quite small, the clever use of mirrors on the back wall gives the illusion of space. The staff are always very attentive and polite without being over the top. The food, however, is what has kept us coming back. It's absolutely delicious and not oily like some Indian food can be. The only minor problem we had with my husband getting the wrong sauce for his biryani was dealt with very swiftly and courteously and we were then offered a round of complimentary drinks. Over the years we have eaten at many Indian restaurants, and this is currently our favourite.

We regularly eat "Indian" cuisine and find both the food and decor refreshingly different. The staff are very friendly and the menu is varied with healthy lower fat options. Give it a try!

We've been here a few time. Loved it every time. Good food, smiling staff, nice and clean place.Went as a family of 4, had the usual mix, nan, bhartha, makkhani daal, butter chicken. Happy with the food.

The food was nothing special. The restaurant filled with smoke so our eyes stung and everything was far too expensive. I suppose average is generous.

Excellent food and we had plenty of it! The service was excellent, and the place was comfortable. We will be definitely going back there again and will recommend our friends and relatives. Our favorite dish so far is the Dum - Ka - Murghi band we hope there is more to add to our choice of favorites. It is definitely a worth of try, so don`t miss it........

First time here early on Sunday for myself, my wife my son (an outrageous foodie!) and his partner. The service and food were great, the selection broad, and the explanation of the dishes accurate. An overall very good experience. We will use it regurlarly in future, living within walking distance, as we do.

We visited the Rajmoni on Saturday night. The service was good and the decor very nice. I couldn't complain about this restaurant we had a lovey evening and great food. Well worth a visit...
