The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

Ordered two Chicken Tikka Masla’s (1 mild and 1 medium). Both had plenty of sauce, very tasty. The rice wasn’t clumped together like in the Ripon Indian Restaurants and the chips were well cooked and not caked in oil. Simply the best Indian I have experienced around Ripon/Boroughbridge.

We came for 3 main meals for takeaway. We ordered chicken madras, chicken Jalfrezi and king prawn tikka masala with 2 rice and a portion of chips 2 garlic naans and a plain naan. I do not recommend, portion size of chips was insulting We did not get the £15.50 tikka masala we received king prawn tikka. The Madras, the chicken was dry was swimming in grease. The jalfrezi was pretty much all onion with a few bits of really dry chicken again swimming in grease and no real flavour that you would expect. The Naans apart from the middle missing out of the plain naan their was absolutely no flavour in the garlic naan and the pilau rice was a let down. For £47 I would say there is far superior Indian's in Norwich that you can get more food and better quality for a similar price and that was with a 20% discount

Can’t recommend this place enough. Went last night with my family (5 people) and the staff were so friendly, professional and polite. The food was great, we had a variety of dishes and everyone enjoyed their meal.

I ordered chicken biryani from this place twice before and loved it, but my third order was disappointing. After waiting 10 minutes, I picked up my food, only to find it looked completely different from my previous orders. It seemed like leftover food, so I didn’t eat it and ended up throwing it away. I won't be recommending this restaurant for takeaway again.

Best curry in Shropshire by far!

Have just moved into the area and feel lucky to have a local restaurant as good as this. Despite being very busy the service could not be faulted as everyone was so attentive and everything was served with appropriate pace. The food was delicious and fresh. Look forward to returning!

Living in Arborfield, takeaway options are a bit limited, so we decided to venture out to Finchampstead and try this Indian restaurant for the first time on Saturday evening. We ordered a selection of curries, rice, breads, and sides for five of us and every single person said how delicious it was. Without a doubt, we’ll be returning. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and this fantastic place earns a well deserved 5-star review from me and the whole family.

The food was nice but the service was terrible. Waiter said 10 minutes on the phone. 45 minutes later still waiting for only 2 large chips. This is ridiculous honestly, only for 2 large chips.

Very good staff and very good food

The Rami is my go to curry house, I am there quite often.. This is good because I always know that I am going to have good experience. This is bad, I get bored eating the same meals over and over again (they are excellent meals, but I do need a change). This visit, there was nothing on the menu that I really fancied, and I asked the staff for a recommendation. They recommended a sweet and sour Fish curry, but I do not eat fish.. not a problem, they can make it with chicken.. how hot did I want the curry? WOW - how many places can you get a custom meal! Never had sweet and sour curry before, it was interesting and I would try it again, maybe a little be a little braver with the curry level. The staff provide excellent service, the food is presented an tastes really good, I really like the ability to change the spice levels.

Cuando cortésmente le pregunté si se podía rechazar, el camarero (Johnny – barbudo, con un bollo de hombre) respondió con claro desinterés y una actitud desdeñosa. Mi solicitud fue rechazada, y cuando pedí una mesa diferente —dado que el restaurante estaba casi vacío— también fue ignorada. Cuando lo mencioné de nuevo, Johnny parecía visiblemente irritado. Sarcásticamente me pidió que “escuchara el sonido” y señaló el techo, aparentemente sin saber que la única diferencia era un cambio en la pista, no el volumen. Me acerqué al personal de la planta baja con la esperanza de recibir apoyo. Si bien fueron educados, no tomaron ninguna acción real. Cuando regresé, Johnny parecía aún más agitado, cuestionando por qué había hablado con el equipo de abajo. Su tono y comportamiento eran inapropiados y poco profesionales. Lo que dejó una impresión duradera —más allá del mal servicio— fue la sensación de que mi presencia y mis amables peticiones no eran bienvenidas. No puedo evitar sentir que mi etnia puede haber jugado un papel en cómo me trataron. En un momento dado, mientras intentaba explicar la situación a una funcionaria, Johnny parecía decidido a interrumpir y descartar la conversación por completo, como si tuviera un problema tanto con mi solicitud como con el hecho de que una mujer estuviera participando en la conversación. En general, gasté 60 libras para una comida que me dejó más frustrado que satisfecho. Me encanta la buena comida y la música vibrante, pero también valoro que me traten con respeto al cenar fuera. Es una pena — este lugar tenía potencial para convertirse en un lugar regular para mí, pero después de esta experiencia, no volveré. Mirando otras reseñas, veo que no estoy solo en este tipo de experiencia. Si bien pueden ser la minoría, son lo suficientemente consistentes como para sugerir que el servicio al cliente aquí necesita una mejora seria.
