Came here for the first time tonight and wow soooo impressed! Place was immaculate, staff were so welcoming and friendly, great atmosphere and the food was absolutely AMAZING! Can’t wait to come back 🤩🤩🤩

We have eaten here before and been disappointed. I read the recent reviews and decided to give it another chance. We weren’t disappointed. The decor has been updated tastefully since our last visit. The welcome was very warming and drink orders were taken swiftly. We were given enough time to look over the menu before making our order. The Karahi and bengal special were both very nice as so were the naan breads. I hope this continues as I am keen to visit again very soon.

Lovely staff. Food is great and inexpensive. South Asian food. Excellent. Redcar is a good holiday destination. Wine cheap and French.

Had an amazing experience eating at Bengal Spice. The food was incredible. The staff were also amazing, very polite and helpful. I can't believe we've seen this place for years and have never visited it. It is now our go-to Indian restaurant for our family.

Food was generally quite good. Naan was very nice. Onion bhaji too. All very nicely presented. Service was fine, no complaints. Seemed expensive. £30 per head with a single drink. Music was too loud for me.

Don’t believe anyone that gives this place less than a 5 rating. This place is amazing, the food here is crazy good. It is your loss for not trying this place

I attended a group get together at this establishment and can say for 100% fact that this is THE BEST place I have ever eaten. The food was so delicious that I had to take some with me, I simply couldn’t get enough of it not to mention how nice the atmosphere was and how hospitable the staff were. Would give it 6 stars if I could. Top quality restaurant.👍👍👍

recently revisited Bengal Spice after several years, and I was absolutely delighted to find that it has maintained its exceptional standards. Each dish was meticulously prepared, showcasing a perfect balance of spices and fresh ingredients, making every bite a true delight. The service was truly first-class, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. The interior was nice. The menu theu had pit outside the restaurant was different from what we git when we were seated. The internal menu was more expensive, but i didnot mind that as long as i enjoyed the food. We ordered an appetiser and 2 main curries all three tasted the same. They had the same base on all 3 it was not bad it tasted good actually but it was the same thing one had only chicken, the other had bell pepper aling with chicken and the third had prawn but tasyed exactly the same.

Went for a birthday celebration. Poppadoms and pickles were the best part of the meal. Starters were warm so passable. Main course was barely warm. I had to go and find a member of staff to say, and was told, "Well it has just come out of the kitchen ". He eventually came over to the table and took my food away. He came back with it but it was still not hot. No apologies and I was made to feel I was being a nucience. I certainly won't be going back.

Bought for two. Food came quickly and was very hot and bloody delicious. Service was polite and efficient. Excellent value and large portions, will definitely come back in the near future.

2nd time now first time was delivery poor Keena naan too doughy kebab and massala poor. I've just ordered mixed kebab and Sikh kebabs said it wasn't enough for delivery he could've walked round himself so now I have to walk round myself

Freezing. They had heating on warm at best. Service none existent, nobody asked how anything was, staff seemed annoyed they had to serve you. Food was as cold as the temperature in the restaurant. My chicken was hard, I could not eat it. Will never return

We have visited this establishment several times over the years when visiting family from the US. As a curry lover and person who cooks a great deal of curries, I find the food excellent and the menu expansive. The garlic Naans were impressive and my garlic chilli balti was flavorable. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The staff were personable and friendly.

Very nice interior to the restaurant ; staff were pleasant and efficient. I only had a simple meal but the beer came promptly and cold , the rice was perfectly cooked and the garlic chicken was delicious with just the amount of heat promised on the menu. Nothing here not to like.

Very delicious curry. I had sag lamb. Deep deep flavours. Plus mushroom bhaji...nice side dish good flavour. Great.the only shame was they only accepted cash so I was limited to just a main. Would have had more with a card.

Cash only, which is strange, Full priced menu when we visited on a quiet Wednesday night, the food was acceptable, not wow or amazing but the base level, I'd expect from an Indian restaurant. Asked for one dish to be fairly hot, menu advice is to ask what level you'd like, it arrived and it was like a pasta sauce, not a hint of spice. I can accept that as everyone is different.What causes the two stars is the behavior of the next table, they were allowed to swear, make other diners feel uncomfortable and when they left an argument how they had short changed the restaurant was heard by all. When paying my bill in full- I passed comment to the manager?? How he'd given them too much rope and their behavior was unacceptable,I felt it had made others and me and the wife uncomfortable. He replied he'd told them twice before we arrived to quiet down/stop swearing and acknowledged they had underpaid by £20. Overall based on my visit I couldn't recommend.

Ordered Takeaway from here after reading some of the reviews off trip advisor, how wrong were we to do so. Chicken Jalfrezi and rice, the curry was very red in colour and thick in consistency spicy with plenty chillies hot but tasteless chicken very rubbery Husband had mixed kebab starter, which was very average & chicken Bhuna, same not very taster and sauce dry and thick £34.00, complete waste of money

We were on a family holiday and due to last minute plans, couldn't get any hotels in Whitby so stayed in Redcar. Being few days away from home, started missing Indian food so searched for Indian restaurants. Based on reviews chose this restaurant as a closest option to what we wanted to eat.Good ambience, nice staff but our high hopes for good/decent Indian food were shattered. Food portion is very less. Whatever we ordered (daal, rice) quantity was strictly 1 measuring cup literally. We were starving so finished every bit. Ordered one paneer curry for which portion was good but then ridiculously priced. To summarize, do not expect authenticate Indian food or any closer.

We ordered a set meal for 4 people given that our teen children wanted to experience a sit down indian meal. It didn't dissapoint. The food was lovely, great choice and something for everyone. Service was great and the interior decor is mesmerising let's say. It was a Wednesday night an pretty quiet. It is cash only so that could be a problem for people. We would recommend.

We had a lovely meal on Thursday for our friend's birthday. I was wary as I'd read so many reviews about being overcharged but in all honesty, we couldn't work out the handwritten bill so we too could've been. My husband, who loves curries, said it was the nicest meal he'd had and he chose a chilli, garlic keema nan stating it was the freshest, tastiest bread he'd ever had. I'm thinking the alcohol prior to the meal was the reason he kept repeating this sentence to anyone who'd listen! I had saag aloo as a side dish with vegetable samosas and boiled rice. It too was lovely. We'd definitely visit here again and recommend.

Massively overcharged and the food was much spicier than anticipated. Too spicy to the point none of us could enjoy it. One of our party even said can it be as mild as possible as I can’t handle much spice and hers was one of the spiciest going. I can usually handle a lot of spice but it was close to being unbearable. When we questioned the bill as it seemed much higher than we anticipated the server even tried to say yes I’ve checked it and that’s correct. We then got a menu and added it up ourselves and he had overcharged us by £30. Oh yes I added double the amount of naan accidentally, oh no I didn’t mean to add that extra rice, added our drinks up to be £10 more than they were. All very nice for cash in hand for them!

Lovely food and very good friendly staff, only thing that let it down was the toilets was upstairs and no toilets for the disabled people I couldn't go to the toilet as I'm disabled

Collected takeaways on previous visits to Tedcar. Food always ready for collection and hot. Meal portions good size and extremely tasty. Recommend Bahia’s. Bit odd that you have to pay cash for takeaways?

We sometimes get a takeaway from Bengal Spice and the food is consistently great. This was only the second time we have "eaten in". The service was excellent. Attentive and preemptive without being in your face. The food was delicious too. The Keema Naan was the best we'd ever had, and my fish and potato dish was amazing. Highly recommend 👌

Was told on phoning lots of dishes gluten free. Well I had stomach cramps for four days following the meal. We were charged £5 over the menu prices and told we could only pay cash. I stupidly also left a tip before the pain started. I won’t be going back.

Staying at Redcar Rugby club for new year ordered takeaway on two occasions over weekend. Four of us had various meals off the menu consisting of starters mains and sundries. Food was excellent tasty hot and quality ingredients delivered in very good time and packaged in heat bags so food arrived piping hot. Delivery driver polite and courtesy call on arrival HIGHLY RECOMMENDED will be back😀😀😃

Had a set meal for two delivery on Saturday 7/10/22 my friend confirmed this morning she was fine after her meal,as I rang her to tell her I was up through the night horrendous tummy pains with awful diohrea at 2pm the stench of it was horrific. Definitely food poisoning ,always ordered from here but no more after what I suffered

The food was amazing. Think we had about 7 different dishes and every single dish we couldn't fault. Flavoursome and decent portions. For an Asian to say that food was tasty in an Asian restaurant says it all. Service was good as well.

We have used this restaurant many times and have noticed the quality starting to drop but tonight was an absolute disgrace, The lamb was inedible it was so poor quality, it was stringy and mostly fat, The chicken tikka was bone dry and burnt, The entire dish was more oil than food, We couldn't finish the food and binned most of it. This is a real shame as this used to be one of the best.

Ordered for collection. Picked up at the time stated and it was perfect!. I can genuinely say that it was the best Indian takeaway we have had. One thing is for certain, we will certainly be booking a table to eat in at some point in the very near future.

Had to travel to Redcar for work found this restaurant on Google thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I had onion bhajis to start followed by a a chicken dansak and keema rice with a peshwari naan on the side and a couple of pints of cobra...

The food here is always top notch in everything they do. The biryanis are amazing and proper thought goes into the food. Top marks all round. Superb

It's so hard to find decent food when your passion is cooking. Ordered a delivery from Bengal Spice after going around in circles and we were very impressed. Quick delivery, very reasonable price, onion bhaji came as two large fritters with sauce and salad, chicken shashlik, curry sauce, pilau and garlic and coriander naan. 26 quid and we ordered one meal because there was more than enough to share. Keep it up and you will win our vote for the best in the area. Thanks.

The staff are polite and welcoming. The food is so tasty and fresh. Eating in the restaurant beats ordering a takeaway any day of the week! The restaurant is clean and has a nice relaxed atmosphere. Toilets are nice and clean. The only negative is that the tables are a bit small so it was a squeeze to get everything on.

Food turned up cold contacted the restaurant they said the food had been delivered for half an hour even tho my phone log showed different as the delivery driver didn’t have a clue where he was going ( that’s what happens when you hire people...

Went tonight and after we ordered the starters we both knew the place was filthy, I told owner / manger and he got six members of staff to intimidate us, I started to record them and my phone was taken from me and smashed on...
