After a long and painful period in intensive care, this restaurant has now closed. It had a good run and for a while was THE place to see and be seen, but alas no more.

New Apurba is always our go to Takeaway Indian restaurant in Melton Mowbray. The chicken tikka masala is by far the best in the area in my opinion and I have tried them all! Pashwari Naan, always tasty with lots of coconut and the king prawn starters are also always tasty. Other great dishes include Chicken Korma, Lamb Rogan Josh and chicken Bhuna. Only thing I would improve would be the speed of being able to collect/deliver on a weekend but that shows how good they are! After the most recent visit I thought I had better leave a review 😋

The guys here are amazing had to wait a little bit for my order which is understandable but always make you feel welcome gave me a beer for the time I waited absolutely amazing!

Second time we have ordered and had items missing and promised a better experience next time. Will update for our 3rd time lucky. This was after they gave our food to someone else and we had already waited 40mins longer than expected

Great to be eating a good curry in Southfields again after over 25 years absence,lovely little place if you are a fan of Goan cooking (coconut,aromatic,tangy spices) the triphal in quaint old southfields doesn't disappoint we shall definitely be returning to explore some Goan fish dishes on Fridays !

An absolutely gorgeous meal. Service second to none, food was so fresh & tasty!

We decided to book a family Diwali meal which was booked over the phone. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely waiter who took us to our table. The tables were separated which we were a little annoyed about as this was not mentioned before. Another waiter came out and abruptly told us to be seated so we can order our starters. I explained we were waiting for one more family to arrive. Within minutes the same waiter came and said exactly the same thing! I was quite shocked and to be honest we should have left at that point. The rest of the family members arrived and a nice waiter took our orders. The food came out and dishes were mostly different however they had the same sauce and tasteless. Curries had big chunks of green chillies. The chicken curry was awful. The portions were small. We went on to order desserts but were given one menu between 14 of us! After a few minutes past, the same rude waiter appeared and asked us to order our desserts now as they need the tables. This was the icing on the cake for us, we paid the bill and left without ordering desserts. This is not how you treat paying customers. On top of that, the food is not great at all and we are shocked with these high rating reviews. Shocking service, shocking food and shocking communication. The only good thing was the young waiter that treated is with respect. I wouldn’t bother people with this place, we will stick to where we know!

One of the best Indians I've ate. Food was amazing on point, was a true flavour exposition. Staff were amazing and friendly... service was on point, fast and quality! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and anyone! 💯🔥
