Had 2 takeaways from here in the last month when passing through Nantwich on our boat. Both meals were ready at the collection time stated and were both delicious. Will definitely order from here again when we're in the area.

Best Indian restaurant by far. I’ve never had a bad meal here - dine in or takeaway. Chicken tikka masala is tdf.

We sat down and ordered a drink then when it came to ordering the food we asked what vegan options there were… the response was ‘we do not cater for vegans’ so no options… what not even a popadom, mango chutney, chips even?? No ‘we don’t cater for vegans’. So they made us pay for the drink we only bought because we were eating and leave. I’ve been vegan for 13 years and have never ever had this response from any restaurant. It’s ridiculous in this day and age to not be able to cater for varied dietary requirements. Really awful service.

Great food (loved the onion bhaji); very efficient service (one to greet us, one to show us to a table, one to bring our drinks, one to take our order, and one who wheeled it in on a cart); nice and warm (we were cold and soaking from a rainy day on the canal). All in all a great experience. Wish we had Indian restaurants like this in Texas!

We arrived late with no reservations, but we were still seated at a nice table. We had onion baji, chicken tikka masala, sag paneer, and a prawn dish which name I cannot remember. The food was outstanding and the service was also very good.

Not been here for a while and have to say we won’t be back in a hurry ,prices have risen a lot , food wasn’t the best I mean chicken nuggets is NOT an Indian starter ,we had 3 different curries yet they all tasted the same , garlic Nann was nice but the rest was average at best ..

Haven’t been here for a while until last night and I will be going a lot more frequently now! I had a lamb tikka saag with extra garlic and it was the best curry I’ve ever had!

Really lovely place, me and my partner order and go in and honestly would suggest it to anyone. Ordering in, price is really good and food is always great qualit. Eating in - the staff are really helpful and attentive. I have also tried a handful of their dishes and haven't found one, I've not liked so far.

Only ever had a takeaway from here so can't really comment on the service or atmosphere, other than the service is very quick. Food is very good quality, not had a curry I've not enjoyed thoroughly yet.

Well very disappointed I was warned but it was convenient. Plus points Nan bread very nice crunchy with cheese. Beer magners out of bottle cold . Minus points Lamb chop starter over cooked tough as old boots chewy. Rice sloppy over cooked mush don’t know what it tasted off . Chicken balti didn’t resemble any balti I’ve ever had ! The chicken over cooked and grissly either hadn’t been dressed or was thigh and leg meat . Atmosphere dull staff ask a question walks off obviously didn’t under stand the question . Not for me I’m afraid !

Been a fews times and never had a bad dish all really tasty especially the bhuna, staff are really friendly and service is quick and painless don't mind paying a bit more than usual for this as it's definitely worth it

First visit to the Indian Ocean. Couldn't fault it. Nice inside good service and lovely food. Will definitely go again and recommend it.

Came here for mine and my boyfriends graduation with our families! It was absolutely lovely. My mum and dad are vegans and the menu is incredibly big and full of lovely food. We had exceptional service. Wonderful place and it will continue to be our favourite Indian restaurant!

Excellent all round. Had Afghan Chicken and it was amazing. All the curry’s were lovely. The beer was tasty and the staff we exceptional. Could not fault the evening. Massive thanks to the lovely staff.

The Indian Ocean has been our regular Indian restaurant for years, we always receive excellent service and the food is consistently good. The meat used is always excellent quality and the sauces authentic, we travel around the country quite a lot but have still to find an Indian restaurant to match up.

Good food. Was not expecting to find actual spicy indian in Nantwich. But was pleasantly surprised. I got the Afghan tikkah with garlic naan, and was very good. I asked the staff and they said it was halal. Not sure but thats what they said. A bit cosy, but maybe there was about 20 of us. Overall pretty good.

Great food but received and charged for unordered items and left off some ordered items. Friendly enough though.

Thank you for fitting 5 of us in after a local pub never took our booking down and were left with no where to eat on a Saturday night. Food was delicious and service was great. Glad we ate here now.

Been going to this place for years and years and it's always been fantastic food and this time was no different, absolutely no complaints about the food, however the drinks pricing are complete robbery! And to top it off when we got the bill they had quite obviously added extra costs to the drinks, I'm no fool and quite good at maths, the drinks didn't add up close to what they should have done, quite poor really as we only had 2 drinks each so it was quite obvious to spot the fraudulent activity they where doing, I won't be returning after this, they have spoilt a great experience. I urge everyone to check the bill and the breakdown and I guarantee you that the prices won't add up! They put an extra £6 on top of the 4 drinks! It's not about the money, it's the deception, if they are this doing this with the drinks then it makes you wonder what goes on in the kitchen!!!!

Lovely service and delicious food. Felt ABIT rushed and drinks very expensive. But on a whole would definitely return. The mushroom pilau was delicious.

Never a bad curry from here, don't feel the need to go anywhere else.

This is the best Indian we have tasted in Nantwich. We have only ever collected and the food is amazing. The only criticism that we have is that the staff can be a little rude when collecting the food.

Food has been very oiley recently, swimming on the top of the food. Also, last time I went the staff tried shouting me back after paying and leaving the restaurant because they thought I had not paid which was very rude. Head to the Naaz, much better nowadays.

Some of the food was terrible and when told staff about it they still tryed to charge for it even though we never eat it. We offered to pay for what we did have and they became very aggressive

I’ve never had an issue getting vegan food at Indian restaurants before but the Indian Ocean is not accommodating to vegans or those with a dairy intolerance. Nothing on the menu is vegan (everything has cream in it) and they weren’t able to make a dairy-free version of any of the dishes. This was disappointing as many of the dishes on the menu should be vegan! In the end we had to leave and eat elsewhere.

Very nice, portion sizes were a little smaller than expected, but food quality was excellent.

During a narrowboat holiday we stopped at Nantwich and had a take out from the Indian Ocean after reading the positive reviews. We have to say the quality of the food was fantastic! Would definately go again and would recommend to others to do the same 😇

Tried to eat here after reading the reviews, but we were told that non of their meals were gluten free, they are all made with the same base gravy which contains gluten. Never had this in an Indian restaurant before so really disappointed.

I was introduced to this restaurant about three years ago, since then I have all my takeaways from there and eaten in three times. Every single time I have been more than satisfied with my meal, the staff and price. Its not the flashiest but its one of the best in town and around.

Our first visit to Indian Ocean last night. We had a lovely meal. The service was excellent. We will definitely be returning again and would recommend it. Thank you to all the staff.

Normally very good food but first time takeaway since lockdown . Disappointing on taste and hardly any chicken, more sauce than anything . Average pilau rice and cold nann bread , don’t know whether it had been sitting on the side .? Was concerned about cleanliness of the place when departing towards the carpark at the back , the chefs were outside smoking and didn’t look particularly clean with grubby uniforms !! It always bothers me when I see chefs doing that , as to how spot on their hand hygiene is post smoking .. I think while preparing and serving food , smoking breaks should be banned until service is complete!! Think I will try other Indian eateries in nantwich in future !!

Ordered a take-away two nights ago. Food was excellent as always. Young lady took my food order over the phone and served me when I arrived. Very polite and courteous young lady, a Good addition to the Indian Ocean staff.

Very disappointing. Overcharge on bill, food not great and bad service. Will give this a miss in future.

We had prawns which came out in such small quantities and lacked flavour. Perhaps there is a dire need to cut down on the spices to reduce costs but is this the way forward? Again would get more flavour from a proper jar of Tikka Massala from Tesco or Sainsbury

Couldn’t fault the food and would return again. However, we were on time for a seven o’clock booking for a party of ten. We had to wait ten mins or so for two of the guests to arrive, by this time we were being quite seriously hassled by the staff to order as they had rebooked their table again at 8:30! We ordered mains( waiter never asked did we want starters), food arrived very quickly and was good. As soon as we finished hey presto a bill! No coffee option or ice cream or anything was offered, clearly wanted us out ASAP! Strangely it didn’t seem to be full as other tables had finished..... no chance of a relaxing meal and chats with old friends at Indian Ocean!...... Shame on you

This is a consistently good restaurant with lovely food and service. The balti dishes are excellent.

First time trying this restaruant & it did not disappoint. Great service, very tasty food & an authentic atmosphe. My boyfriend loves a butter chicken curry, however it was not on the menu :( but when we asked the waiter he said the chef would be able to cook one for him.. he said it was the best butter chicken curry he has ever tasted!!! Only thing this restaurant menu is missing is chicken pakora's. Wouldn't go for an Indian in Nantwich anywhere else!

Consistent high standard of food and friendly service. We’ve never had a bad experience in many visits. Fresh poppadoms, lovely authentic curries and always a welcome smile from front of house.

We were a huge group of 20 and the staff did not fail to bring all of our orders correctly and quickly! The service was amazing from the waiters/waitresses and even the management that regularly asked how the food was and if we were enjoying ourselves, which we greatly appreciated! Also the food was beyond compare I had the prawn puri, garlic chicken, prawn biriyani & lamb chops with an amazing cheese Naan, over all the service and food were amazing would definitely recommend this fine establishment! It was too mouthwatering so I couldn’t capture pictures of all the food!

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food at this Indian restaurant. As I live in the West Midlands where we have more Indian restaurants than Chip Shops, I was surprised by this establishment as it has no real competition.My friend and I ate there late as we had attended a social evening elsewhere. The choice was a bit over powering or at least the Menu layout was!The food was very tasty and not over spiced.I had a Chicken Korai which is never the same at any restaurant . This one was very good.

This is my favourite Indian restaurant! We have been visiting this restaurant for over 30years, the food is excellent as are all of the staff.

My wife and I have enjoyed several meals here over the years, and were looking forward to another good evening. However, on entering, I noticed a poster on the wall referring to dietary intolerances etc., which concerned me, as we had a similar experience at Indian Garden in Crewe. When the waiter came for our drinks order, I asked about wheat and gluten in the menu, as my wife is a coeliac, and was told that there were no gluten free options. There was no choice for us, apart from leaving. I guess if Indian Ocean is doing it right, all others are doing it wrong. It's a pity, as it used to be good.

Went for meal with friends the a bunch of young local farmers came in. Staff continued to serve them food and alcohol getting them more drunk. Farmers insulted customers, shouting and making everyone uncomfortable. Staff not interested in calming them down saying nothing. Complained to manager in leaving and he wasn’t interested in the slightest terrible behaviour and attitude by staff. Food was average for the size of the bill !

I have been going there for over 30 years and have never had a bad meal. I think it used to be called Monsoon when I first started going but whats in a name eh :)

Went for a quiet meal with friends and a bunch of young farmers ruined the evening by being served too much alcohol by staff who did nothing but help get them drunk. Terrible language and behaviour, insults to other customers and staff did absolutely nothing to calm the situation. Complained to manager when paying bill and he wasn’t in the slightest interested. Never again. Food was average !

Went for a meal here last night, will not be going again. 7 of us went, spent £150 and only one meal was up to scratch. One was a pasanda, I've never tasted anything so disgusting. It tasted of blackcurrant juice, truly vile, when my brother complained they just laughed. My friend paid just shy of £15 for a curry that had 4 (yes 4!) Prawns in. That's £3.65 a prawn, when my friend mentioned it, the manager said 'we have to make money!'. My sagwaala was burnt and only half of it was edible. My mums balti was so full of green peppers I wondered if she had ordered a pepper balti and not a chicken balti. Considering the service, being laughed at and most of it being truly terrible, they didn't even offer a discount or apologise.

Not been to this restaurant for some years. Huge portions and excellent curry. Busy restaurant but not kept waiting.

Nicely laid out restaurant with attentive staff. Poppadoms and pickles were nice, sadly everything else was poor. Starters were average at best and very expensive compared to standard prices. Main courses were the real let down with the curries way too heavy, also being bland with little flavour.

I just love my food from here. Always tastes so good and my takeaway is always ready on time. Don't have takeaways very often, but when it's takeaway day, Indian Ocean does not disappoint

Ordered takeaway foe myself and wife. We live less than 5 minutes from there. Upon getting out my vindaloo it was cold. Rang them up to ask for a refund upin return of the food. I was told the manager was not there and they replace it. Left hungry and feeling very dissapointed. Avoid this place. You will be fobbed off at some point

Called in this evening had poppadoms and chicken jalfrezi and chicken saagwala rice and naan bread .Poppadoms ok meals bland rice seemed as if it was days old Naan passable. We had liquor coffee. At no time during the meal were we asked how our food was, we were given the coffees and without asking for the bill it was thrusted at us, we felt as if it our business was not needed, I wish we had walked a little bit further to Basmati. We will never return !!!!

I’m in the area on business and a few colleagues recommend this Indian restaurant. The meal I had was excellent, apparently you need to book in advance for Fri/Sat night... I can see why, I would definitely recommend and return again next time I’m in town.

Granddaughter's birthday treat, chosen by herself. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Food was superb, atmosphere great, nothing too much trouble for the staff. We bought the cake the staff brought it out at the end of the meal, nice gesture.

This restaurant surprised us as the food was extremely good. We were welcomed by friendly well groomed staff in matching outfits looking resplendent with ties. It appeared that we ordered too much food as we couldn’t eat it all. The staff happily packed it into containers for us to take home.

Awful, If you have any food intolerances at all, avoid like the plague. They seemed to not know the differences between lactose/dairy and gluten allergies. Do not trust them when they advise about allergens. It's useless putting an intolerances page in the back of the menu if you don't know what they mean. I was told I can basically eat nothing there, and got boiled spinach and plain rice. If the chefs can't cook something without certain ingredients, from scratch - it proves that most dishes are pre-prepared, not the sign of a good restaurant. Most other Indian restaurants in the area are happy to accommodate dishes to cater for allergies. To top it off, they're unfriendly and don't listen. Terrible.

Turned up an masse. Hadn't booked but they found us a table quickly. We ordered drinks and food which arrived promptly . One of the best curries I have had in a long while. Food was hot and tasty and portions were good. Really enjoyed it and would definitely return if we were visiting up there again!

Easily the best curry I have ever had. There’s a lot of vegetarian options that made me happy. The service was also excellent, very friendly and fun staff.

Popped in for a takeaway staff very polite when taking my order ....I ordered tandoori mixed grill which was fantastic and very tasty and full of flavour would definitely recommend

Now and then we venture out of Crewe to sample the delights of other Indian restaurants, and this time, it was the turn of Indian Ocean in Nantwich. There is a large car park at the rear, which is so rough, you need a Land Rover to drive on it. When we got out of the car, the smells from the different restaurants in Welsh Row were absolutely wonderful. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated, and the staff are excellent. Our meals were both very good, but beware, portions are large, and being of somewhat senior years, it is a bit of a struggle. Very good restaurant.

While I was in Nantwich on business I called in to this restaurant and what a nice welcome we received by a nice man who showed us to our table were we had some drinks and our starters and our mains which followed by coffee it was very good the price was reasonable and service excellencd very helpful staff and polite Notting was to much well worth a visit if in Nantwich or just passing by IL be calling back very soon

Ordered a collection they got the order wrong we realised when we got home in Crewe. Ring the lady who was argueing saying we didn't order 3 chicken Tikkas when we did. They wouldn't deliver the missing item to us and didn't even apologise for £30 order this is disgusting service im never going here again the naan bread was soggy and the rice is hard.

Booked a table for Easter Sunday , knowing the restaurants would be busy during the Easter weekend celebrations. We were very disappointed to find that despite booking 4 days prior to the meal we had been squashed into the corridor right in front of the reception/ bar area. Meaning that every person coming to the restaurant had to walk past our table. All of the people sat on one side of our table had their chairs repeatly banged into as people struggled to get past our tables.

This was my second visit, both have been good.
