Excellent food, Dev was really nice! I really enjoyed the chicken tikka masala and the garlic nan bread, definitely recommend it.

Booked for a party of 15. We were warmly received by the staff and the table was well prepared. The food arrived quickly and was of excellent quality. A big thank you to Dave for overseeing our orders and ensuring all went well. Overall, great value for money.

Booked a table for our Gurkha Experience. We were well greeted by the front of house staff, who made us feel most welcome. Drinks were ordered and arrived, and a few moments later, we had placed our order. our food arrived very quickly and was piping hot. We throughly enjoyed our meal, and the staff were most attentive and made sure of any of our requirements were carried out with a minimum of fuss. A truly delicious meal.

Absolutely fantastic meal would highly recommend and hello to Dave the waiter we will be back when in Falmouth again one of the best meals we have had

Had a delicious meal here. The food was tasty, freshly prepared and decent sized portions. The price was very reasonable. The restaurant environment was pleasant and very clean. Service was quick and friendly. Our waiter Devendra was knowledgeable about the menu and able to suggest vegan options. The vegetable Thali was flavourful, a great combination of textures and flavours. Looking forward to returning.

Proper good food, top service, felt at home with the friendly staff. Dave was great, made us feel very cared for and comfortable, even had a 15% off for the week which was a nice suprise, will definitely go back!

Went in tonight with my partner for the Sunday buffet, got seated straightaway and offered a menu or buffet option. We chose buffet as can have as little or as much we wanted. Food was piping hot, tasty and lovely presentation, staff were attentive but not in your face like some places. Have been coming here for years and never disappoints.

I hadn't eaten here for over 3 years as the last time I did the food was disgusting the staff rude horrible and cheeky The food was a bit better but still not as good as asha and the other ones in town when I got my order delivered there was items missing and the poppadoms had gone sofa I phone them up and they gave me a load of cheek down the down saying why don't u come down to the restaurant and say it and they said we will send you the missing item if u order something else on the end i said just keep the items I won't be eating in here again no wonder it's all ways empty what a dive the kitchen is dirty as well I remember when it was kfc it was rat infected more likely the same again STAY AWAY

We went for the Sunday evening buffet but have also visited for meals on other days and eaten from the main menu. Each time we have visited, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, the food delicious and not too expensive. The Sunday buffet is an all you can eat true buffet from approx 10 dishes, popadums and a desert so ideal if you have a big appetite or, like me, enjoy small amounts of a selection of dishes.

Delicious Nepalese food, lovely staff and colourful surroundings. Great value. First time here and will definitely be coming back.

Another fantastic meal here last night. I was sad to see how quite the restaurant was again last night considering how great the food and service is. I really hope this place picks up, it would be sad to loose it.

Our go to Indian/Nepali restaurant in Falmouth, never been disappointed by the food or the service. Favourites include the Duck Gurkhali, Lamb Rogan Josh, Thali (meat or vegetarian) and Tarka Dal. Very good value too.

Recommended by our son to go here and we booked by phone; I rang again on the day as I had forgotten the time. First warning shot across the bows when I couldnt get the lady to understand me, she told me we were expected an hour later than the time we had booked at, no problems, these things happen.Went to the restaurant and it was fine, shown to a table and an order taken by an exceptionally polite young man. There were a group of about 8 guys very loud and in the hall like restaurant, their voices carred and one couple moved from right by them to over by us.Then things didnt go to plan; a lady came over with our single starter and a plate of chips (never in my life have I had chips with Nepalese food - I wouldnt eat western food given the choice as I love oriental/asian/middle eastern etc). I told her that we had not ordered them but she was, and this is where we didnt like things, quite insistent that we had ordered them and left them on the table. The young man popped over and took them away but the damage was done, what else could go wrong. I asked for an explanation and was told that the lady didnt speak good english and I can accept that but the insistence that we had ordered a Gurkhali starter (we had, it was a tandoori mixed grill) but not with chips!We then decided with all the noise, the mix up and potential for other things, it was time to leave.Sad as I love Nepalese food and Nepalese people in particular but in these strange times, as we come out of lockdown, things have to align perfectly and not spook customers, whatever the explanation. This is my absolute favourite restaurant in Falmouth. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Waiters are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Falmouth.

El restaurante es grande, así que tienes mucho espacio alrededor de tu mesa. Visitamos en un día laborable y solo había otras 3 mesas allí.No esperamos mucho tiempo para la comida que pedimos.Los popadums eran muy flexibles por alguna razón, así que no los comimos todos.Los platos principales sabía muy bien y recomendaría el pasanda de pollo.La decoración podría hacer con algunas renovaciones pero era simplemente cosmética. Todo lo demás era encantador.

We visited the Gurkha after a thirteen year absence. It was still just as good, if not better. I had the tastiest meal I've had for a long time: the monkfish jalpari (sorry if I've spelt it incorrectly). Excellent service too. Well worth a visit.

Do not be put off, as we almost were, by the climb up the stairwell (lift available) and an empty restaurant at the top (it was on 6 o’clock on a Monday night).We chose the Nepalese specialities but all the old favourites from your typical curry house were available.Lovely crispy poppadums as we perused the menu - 90p each including the pickle tray. We ordered just one lamb kebab starter which they seemed to instinctively know we were going to share bringing 2 plates and putting it between us. It was a generous portion and very tasty.The mains came just the right amount of waiting time later and were excellent - Monk fish in a curry a first for me. Glasses of iced tap water offered as soon as the waiter realised I wasn’t drinking more than my designated-driver half of Cobra. Very attentive but unobsequous service which appeared to be enjoyed by the other 2 tables - both with children- which were the only other ones filled during our visits.

Eat off the menu rather than the buffet which looked a bit ‘school canteen’. Had two different veggie curries and all the sundries and the food was very tasty indeed. Great value and v pleasant staff. Just the job after a few drinks in town. Thanks

Booked a table for five at 8.15pm. We waited for 15mins before my daughter actually got up and asked for some menus. It took over an hour for our starters to arrive. Our waitress was very sweet and polite and apologised but completely hopeless. We got the feeling that this may have been her first night working as a waitress! The main course arrived far too soon after our starters and everything was a bit chaotic. Fortunately the food was overall quite good. My momos didn't seem freshly homemade but steamed from frozen and shop bought. The vegetarian courses went down well with my children. My saag chicken was pleasant. My husband expensive Everest curry was bland and had no green chillies in it and tasted of just tomato sauce. When my daughter went to pay the bill they tried to charge for the popadums and chutney tray which they gave us after we'd been waiting for so long. They did knock them off the bill. This restaurant is clearly a popular place as it was very busy but their service was poor and they did not have enough experienced staff to wait the number of tables. Disappointing.

Big smily welcome, relaxed atmosphere, big choice on a well-organised menu, outstanding lamb, a smoky aubergine dish, unctuous soft naan, and quite amazing value. Staff being trained beside us; good to see. Staff were great with 2 toddlers. Excellent. Wish we'd gone there 2 nights ago!

We really enjoyed the Sunday Buffet. There was plenty to choose from.Naan bread, popadoms, bahaji, chutneys etc. Rice with multiple curries. Noodles and vegetables. Chocolate cake and Eton mess. Definitely recommend a visit.

My wife and I have a lot of curries, and their Sunday evening buffet was ridiculously tasty and good value for money. The dahl was authentic in its depth, and there were several curries meat and not which were full of flavour. Come and enjoy.

I love the food here. They prepare the food according to your taste preference. And the service is very friendly nand warm. I strongly recommend Gurkha to anyone wanting to try Indian/ Nepalese food in Falmouth. All the best

Proprietor is a super guy and the service was excellent. I wasn't blown away by the food, sadly. Nothing wrong with it at all but it didn't inspire me to go back.Restaurant clean and comfortable but again not out of the ordinary. Could be really good if the food were more exciting. I hope it happens.

The food in this restaurant is first-class. The staff are very friendly and attentive (without being overbearing) and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The prawn and monkfish dishes were lovely but my favourite was the lamb saag. Give this place a try, you won't go home disappointed.

My wife and I ate a delicious meal here. First time for Nepalese cuisine. The entire meal was fabulous. The interior of the restaurant is light and airy. Waitstaff is very helpful. Great place.

My Wife and I are not to keen on very hot spicy cooking, but wanted to sample Nepalese Gurkha food. We visited the Gurkha Falmouth last week - great! The welcome was warm, the menu offered a wide selection to suit all tastes. We really enjoyed the meal & were made to feel special by all the staff. On the list to return in the near future.

Allow a longer time to be here - the service is fairly slow but the wait is worth it! Vegetarian food is excellent and plentiful. Do not know about carnivores!

Visited Gurkha Falmouth on the advice of friends and wasn’t disappointed at all, first class food and great service. Would definitely come back and recommend others

This is the best Indian food in Falmouth. The location in The Moor, Falmouth is fantastic. Very Specious. The service was very good. The Lamb Biryani was one of the best I have had anywhere else. Must visit if you are in Cornwall. Thank you Gurkha for such a lovely evening.

As we walked in every member of staff greeted us which was lovely and traditional. The food was top nosh. I had the Koshali Chicken (Nepalese specialty) and My friend had the Lamb Bhuna. Both curries were one of the best we've ever had. It gets busy so get in there early! Very fairly priced too. Thank you Gurkha Falmouth.

Authentic and freshly made dishes. A very good place to enjoy classic Indian dishes and to taste the signature of Nepalese cuisine Especially the Biryani is highly recommendable and clearly outperforms most other biryani dishes served throughout the UK. Flavourful and authentically spiced. Best place on the Falmouth "high street".

All the dishes we ordered were well cooked. Great curries, parottas, chapattis and rice. Restaurant was spacious and the staff were friendly.

Last here and 2012 and soooooo pleased it is still here. Worth checking out the specialities. Son tried Everest dish which was enjoyed.

Spacious and well-lit, offering a wide choice of well-cooked Nepalese food, the Gurkha may not be the ideal venue for an intimate meal a deux, but it offers an excellent alternative to Asha just round the corner. A small group of us went recently after a late afternoon performance at The Phoenix, and everyone was very happy with the quality of the food and the unobtrusive service. Will definitely visit again.

We visited the Gurkha for a meal, and as big curry fans were very disappointed by this restaurant. The atmosphere was not quite there, the staff were friendly but felt a bit stretched. The music playing frequently froze and shuddered back into life every so often which was maybe not the most relaxing of things. The presentation of the food was good, however the food felt very unauthentic. The vegetables were from a frozen bag and the flavours of the curry were bland, uninspiring and underwhelming. The food seemed to have been cheaply done, as oppose to any emphasis on quality or flavour. The food and experience may have differed on another night or if we had ordered different dishes, but would probably not visit again.

We went to this restaurant for the first time and had the buffet it was really nice and had a lovely atmosphere. Also great value for money. We then returned a few times after, service wasn't the best nor was the atmosphere was really cold and the staff we wearing their own clothes which wasnt very professional, we ordered from the menu and had wrong dishes on both occasions! It is also rather expensive for what you get. Will try again in the future but will be going elsewhere first.

Veg Thali as tasty as in Nepal and Gurkha beer. Yay. Charming service. Saturday night. 7.30pm. Good atmosphere. Will return.

We’ve been before and it’s still lovely. Shame the traditional dress is no longer worn but food was excellent and the waiters really helpful.

Although the buffet looked great, we decided to order from the menu for our evening meal. One of us is vegetarian, and the daal option was good. The other two of us ordered the lamb choices, and both were excellent. They're spicy but not painful for non-Nepalese. There was some wait involved, versus partaking of the buffet, but it was worth it!

Not the first time we have been to the restaurant, food doesn't disappoint, but unfortunately the waitress had a very low tolerance to banter which made our atmosphere very tense, a friend added how much he loved the chicken 'tick' a masala which he had a very decent helping too! The same friend went on to say how he walked out with over £6 in change which I found amazing considering he never paid for his meal! P.S it's a boyyyyyyyy

Average at best, if you want a great curry and eating experience in Falmouth - go to the Asha.

Have been coming here for years. Can’t fault the food. This was the first time when the service personnel were not Ghurka people. Spoilt the atmosphere somewhat to what it has been in the past. Will still be back though I’m sure!

We found the atmosphere very pleasant, the food delicious and the service excellent. We were served by Martha. We plan to return next time we are in Plymouth and our granddaughter plans to go back very soon with one of her University friends.

Been here a few times now and the food and service is always great. The all you can eat buffet on a Sunday is worth going to as at just over £10.00 a head is fantastic value for money.

Popped in a Friday evening got a table, it didn't seem very busy, service was good, food was very tasty, the currys were ok but could have been spiced a bit more, other than that not a bad place to visit.

Excited and delighted to be able to return to the Nepalese Gurkha and was not disappointed. Friendly welcome and another truly delicious meal. The Himalayan garlic lamb curry was super tasty and tender, the Nepalese chilli chicken was wonderful and the Sag Bhagi was creamy and authentic. Most of all, the Bullet Naan was an absolute chilli lovers treat. Already dreaming of our return! Wel een beetje raar, in de hoek van een pleintje een blinde trap op om op de eerste verdieping in een Indiaas restaurant te belanden. Slecht aangekleed. Kaal en ongezellig. Oncomfortabele stoelen. Maar: uitstekende keuken!!!! De ambiance wordt ineens minder belangrijk. Althans. Voor mij. Heel vriendelijke bediening. Vlot en attent. Halogeen verlichting mag gedimt worden, en er mag wat aankleding in de zaak, verder prima genoten!!

Having dined here a few times because we've been invited along as a couple for someone else's celebration, we think that we're ready to leave an accurate review. We are curry fans but sadly not a fans of the Gurkha. We've long given up on the Sunday buffet as we've just plainly found it not nice tasting food. The menu options fare better although still not good compared to other local Indian restaurants such as Asha just around the corner. Not really a place that we'd choose to go ourselves given the far better alternatives.

Reservamos, pero no necesita, ya que el lugar estaba muy tranquilo. . No es un buen augurio. Mi comida era muy normalito y mi marido dejó su puesto que no era de su gusto. No creo que tengan un tandoor, como el pan Naan parecía frito arroz pilau como era mi. No se regresar

Nosotros somos visitantes habituales de la zona y hemos comido aquí antes y me gustó mucho. Sin embargo, en esta visita nos quedamos muy decepcionados. El servicio era muy lento (otra pareja salimos) y aunque era temprano y la comida era muy sosa. Mi esposa y yo tuvimos platos diferentes pero las salsas sabía exactamente el mismo! ! Me sentí bastante engañado - hay muchos lugares buenos para comer en Falmouth y sentimos que nos habíamos perdido 'una comida.

Una vez más tuvimos una comida estupenda en el Gurkha, no hemos sido un poco como hemos estado demasiado ocupados el viernes pasado, sin embargo, llegamos allí. Chili con pollo y cordero nepalí Patia (extra caliente) fueron nuestra principal platos servidos con vegetales chow chow y un naan sencilla. Muy buena comida servicio encantador, seguido de un paseo a la muelle Prince of Wales para conseguir algo de ejercicio necesario. La familia gurkha son personas maravillosas que siempre tienen una fantástica comida y tiempo.

Three of us came for a meal we had a great meal although without many furnishings the noise from other guests was disturbing especially when they were swearing. The food was great I had the Everest curry.

Menu is varied the food is fresh and tasty. The staff are very attentive, well worth a visit, reasonably priced too.

Nos fuimos para el cumpleaños de mi tío, que tenía una dieta especial y requisito de buen grado mi comida preparada donde algunos restaurantes tienen un problema con hacerlo. La comida es auténtica y bien preparados. Un establecimiento magnífico local con una larga historia de buen servicio. Recomendado si estás en Falmouth.

We hadn't visited for a good while but was delighted to find it still has excellent service and exquisitely tasteful food. Can't fault it and can't wait to go again, never been disappointed.

Dos de nosotros ganas de una experiencia diferente de lo usual de la India. El servicio fue muy atento, casi demasiado, pero agradable. La comida era buena pero más soso de lo que esperábamos. A pesar de tener diferentes platos principales las salsas parecía ser muy similares, pero nos hemos encontrado en otros restaurantes indios y chinos. Comida agradable aunque un par de grandes partidos bulliciosos estaban presentes que obviamente estaban gozando y para entretenimiento suave! Vale la pena intentarlo, ya que hay algunos platos diferentes en el menú, y que volvería a ver si más sabrosa con opciones diferentes. La factura final era razonable, vino incluido.

El cumpleaños de mi hija se cayó el 28 de febrero y nos decidimos ir a tomar una comida para llevar.

I'm not sure how many times I've been here when I'm in Falmouth but there is a good reason I keep going back, I have always been delighted both with the service but more importantly that the food is lovely. You won't be disappointed

Great night out both had same fish curry meal which could not be faulted. Small but good wine choice prices ok Menu was definitely Nepalese and good for it. Some very interesting choice and degrees of hotness

Siendo niño gratis por un par de horas decidimos re-probar el Gurkha. Tuvimos una comida para llevar hace muchos años que fue terrible, pero después de oír los comentarios de amigos reciente gran decidimos intentarlo. Llegamos allí a las 5:30 de la tarde cuando abren, y fue sólo a nosotros y otro par para empezar, pero a las 18:00 era comercial. Las camareras era amable, servicial y atento. Empezamos con poppadums que venía con chutney de mango y lima/raita y pickle una ensalada fresca de cebolla. Para los principales, teníamos una cocina múltiple (suave de gambas con ajo y coco) y un curry de cordero con arroz casa nepalí, arroz y un pilau naan de ajo. Para bebidas que tomamos una copa de vino blanco de tamaño y una pinta de Carlsberg. Todo lo que puedo decir es que fue absolutamente deliciosa, mi esposo terminando su cordero al curry y nos dirigimos a comer a mi izquierda sobre Malí! ! El Malí era suave pero sabrosa con un montón de gambas king, mi marido dijo que su cordero al curry fue el mejor que había probado en mucho tiempo. Todo vino a £43. Sin duda volveremos.

El poppadum eran cocinadas en grasa vieja, el plato entrante mixto estaba bien, pedimos una de tamaño (la elección más popular de acuerdo a menú) curry y una especialidad de la casa con un lado de las verduras al curry. No había hierbas aromáticas frescas y especias en la comida, sabía que había sido derramado de un frasco y barato! Nadie nos preguntó si habíamos disfrutado de nuestra comida. . Nos quedamos muy decepcionados.

Food was tasty, but 6 of us had different dishes and they all looked the same orange colour, everyone agreed it was good. I wouldn't rave about the place though. Staff are friendly and yes I would visit again.

Me fui con mi novio mientras él estaba en visitar me en uni. Soy un estudiante y así es él, así que ambos son bastante se rompió, pero queríamos ir por una comida agradable algún día y conseguir vestido. Porque nos encanta la comida picante curry y este lugar parecía perfecto!

Disfrutamos de un buen curry aquí hace unos años y no era decepcionó en nuestro regreso reciente. Bienvenida amable, encantador personal. La Piro Piro de pollo que hacía un poco de influencia china era muy sabroso y llevó a cabo una patada. El Cordero himaylan vindalooed ajo (licitación) era maravillosamente sin cartílago y llena de sabor. El Sag Paneer era sabrosa, delicada y hecho con cuidado. Nos dimos cuenta de muchas personas que nos recibieron como familia. ¿Qué más se puede pedir? , excelente comida y una cálida bienvenida. Esperamos la próxima visita. Curry gana cada vez! El pollo utilizado en nuestra curry era terrible, seco y recocido y probablemente reconstituida. Me hizo sentir un poco enferma y no pude terminar. El arroz estaba muy bien hecha y el pan nan era bueno, el servicio era eficiente. La decoración es antigua, pero el restaurante es cálido y la moqueta de la escalera ha sido sustituida (era terriblemente sucia cuando llegó la última). Por desgracia, no creo que volveremos.

En vacaciones y queríamos algo para comer a las 6 de la tarde. El personal es muy amable y aunque esperamos un poco para comida valió la pena. Tuve la de gambas con champiñones arroz cocina variada. Las gambas eran abundantes y enorme y muy suculento y la salsa estaba deliciosa. Lo recomiendo. Ojalá hubiéramos tenido uno en mi ciudad natal.

Que comer un montón de comida india y para mí dejar un comentario impresionante es testimonio de la excelente comida que se sirve en este restaurante. Usan ingredientes de alta calidad y la comida estaba recién hecha. Este es uno de los mejores restaurantes indios que he comido. Casi tan bien como Restaurante Gay lords en Londres. Siento que es su verdadero nombre. Ojalá viviera en Falmouth ya estaría comiendo aquí un montón.

Estas personas saben cómo cocinar, puedes probar todos los componentes individuales de sus platos, incluso el curry caliente son 100% sabrosa con calor. Vinimos a Falmouth, hace 4 días y hemos comido aquí dos veces. Me encanta el lugar y absolutamente recomendaría en un instante especialmente gambas cocina variada, es increíble.
