Rude staff…. Disgusting taste …Because they make everything from scratch…What nonsense are you talking …. Order for and wait for 45 minutes to be served…

We went here for a meal when we were on holiday and the food was so good we went back for another meal. The staff are lovely and the food delicious. Will be back.

Once again, had a most delicious dinner and drinks. My husband and I had the Goan Fish curry and chicken Kashmir, with pilau rice, Sag Bhaji, Mango Chutney and TANDOORI ROTI - bread. To drink a Kobra beer and red wine. Will certainly be back very soon. Service was absolute fantastic and of course the most stunning view of the coastline.

Had a takeaway from this restaurant while on holiday in the area. Service was good, swift and polite. The choice on the menu was as expected and when the food arrived it was all well prepared and hot. Will definitely eat here again.

Well, where do I start with this other than saying it’s an absolute gem! First off we arrived early (Google has here opening at 5), we parked on the next street a short 2 minute walk away (car park stops charging at 4pm which is perfect), anyway, we arrived at 5 and the place looked closed, I’m so glad I looked inside and saw people inside, I shyly popped my head in and asked if they was open a they said they open at 5:30 and we could wait in the waiting area which was a lovely gesture, we told them we wanted a table for 2 and we didn’t have a booking, and they happily obliged, and even nicer they sat us right in the window in the conservatory with a sea view which was truly beautiful. We could see as service went on how busy here gets and how much these tables are wanted so it was such a lovely gesture to lac us here without even asking. We was firstly asked if we wanted any drinks and if we would like Poppadums and sauces to which we opted for two each, and the selection of sauces were EPIC, and the Poppadums were warm and fresh and not overly greasy like some places. We were given some more time to look at the menu and when the Poppadums arrived we was asked for our main order, we ordered a main and rice each, a bread each and I also got a start to be sent with the main which was fine. The food was absolutely FANTASTIC, I had meat Samosas with Mushroom rice and a mixed Balti which was chicken prawn And beef and it was delicious. I also had a keema Naan, the wife had buttermilk chicken and pilau rice and a garlic naan; and again it was absolutely beautiful. The service was polite and didn’t overly bombard us asking if we wanted anything else or if we was ok which is what I prefer. Overall, we enjoyed beautiful food whilst enjoying a beautiful view and it was the perfect end to our holiday and if we are ever back down there we will certainly be back. Thank you.

Family meal out, I ordered four curries when they arrived at the table they only brought out three I asked what about my daughter’s curry they said I didn’t order her one obviously they hadn’t heard so they apologised and went to make it we had half eaten ours by the time it came out the curry was very nice couldn’t fault mine but the wife’s was a bit bland Large was expensive they had a good mark up on it…

We ordered a takeaway having arrived in Cornwall for our holiday this evening. When my husband ordered he was advised it would be 20 minutes, this actually took over an hour to arrive and even then the order wasn’t complete, and he had to wait even longer. When we eventually got the food back to our holiday home, the garlic naan was burnt to a crisp and rock hard, the chips were soaked in grease and very overcooked, the Biryani rice was very brown and tasteless, the alleged Butter chicken was very dark red and very spicy and NOT a bitter chicken by any stretch of the imagination. The staff were running around like headless chickens with many customers and Just Eat collection guy complaining that their orders were incomplete. Please consider carefully purchasing a takeaway from this establishment, particularly if you want decent food. We have completely disposed of this food and had absolutely no intention of eating this rubbish, and will be reporting this restaurant to Trading Standards.

Popped in without a reservation and was shown to a table overlooking the sea, beautiful view! The food was very tasteful , we had poppadoms, starters and mains ~ all very nice. The staff were very friendly and had time for you. Definitely will return here when next in Newquay!

Food was average and lacked flavour... I haven't been for a while and recommend two dishes to my work colleagues, both really lacked any taste. The Lamb Sahrjan, an old favourite of mine, was dry and tasteless, it seemed old like it have been heated up in the microwave. My colleague only eat half of it and offered the rest to me, which I declined. 'Authentic' fish curry also lacked taste. Very disappointed and was embarrassed that I'd brought my colleagues here. Tarka Dahl was tasty. Sag Aloo had plenty of sag, hardly any aloo. I hate leaving a bad review but today guys, it wasn't great!

The food was outstanding. The service was excellent despite them being very busy. The staff were friendly and very efficient. It’s a good thing we only went on out last night. If we’d gone earlier in the week, we’d have been back every night!

Visited this good restaurant a few times during my recent visit to Newquay. I particularly enjoyed the tandoori chicken and the vegetarian dish Undhiu. The staff are friendly and professional.

We have just returned home after a fantastic meal at the Maharajah. We have frequented this restaurant many times over the years that we have visited Newquay. We didn’t use the restaurant for the last couple of years until this evening as it hadn’t met our expectations. I’m so glad that after reading the reviews we gave it a second chance. The food was excellent and coming from the Midlands we know our curry’s !!.. I can honestly say if we lived in the area it would be our first choice. I must also compliment the first class service, even though it was so busy . If you love Indian food then do not overlook this place as I’m sure you will not regret it !!

We came here for my 30th birthday after booking elsewhere in Perranporth (wasn’t our vibe) and couldn’t have made a better decision! Food 10/10 flavours every dish had so much flavour and good portions! Coming from a fussy eater and 2 kids we all thoroughly enjoyed every dish! Highly recommend the mixed grill!! Staff 11/10 they went above and beyond had great banter and brought me a birthday treat out wnd sang to me! which made it even better!! The view alone is spectacular and I just wish we lived nearer so we could come back more! Thankyou for having us!!

Positive - Food tasted great and staff were were efficient and humorous and made us feel very welcome. It has great views of the sea. Food is reasonable price and portions were good. Negative - Prices of items that they don't advertise - I asked for a drinks menu and they told me they didn't have one. We ordered 2 beers, 2 glasses of house wine and 4 half pints of coke through out our meal and they came to £40.50 which I thought was high. I then asked for a dessert menu which they also said they didn't' have as my two small children wanted an ice cream but they said they had vanilla ice cream £5.25 each (£10.25 total) they charged me for 2 small scoops. Our meal was nice and I would recommend this place and the food but for a quick family meal I wasn't so happy with the over £100 bill at the end so just be aware.

I’ve had my fair share of Indian meals over the past 35 years and I must say this was probably the best Indian meal I ever had. This was complemented by the stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean from the restaurant. I thoroughly recommend it!

We had a spontaneous mini break to Cornwall and wanted to eat out. The restaurant was super busy with many regular customers and a thriving take-away service. It was Saturday night and (foolishly) we had not made a booking. Despite that, the team could not have been more welcoming and we were seated within about 10 minutes. Our order was taken quickly. Our food was delivered quickly and was superb! I overheard the main member of staff explaining to another table that they were short staffed but I can honestly say their service was continuously attentive to everyone. If I lived in Newquay, we would be regular diners here. Excellent!

This has become our favourite Indian restaurant even though we travel an hour from Devon. I’m Asian so fussy where we go but we consistently get great food and good service. I’ve booked to come back this Monday with my family who are visiting which shows how much we rate it.

Food was fantastic and staff were very welcoming, each waiter greeted us as we walked in and were clearly very hard working - they couldn’t do enough for you, the service was great. The menu had lots of choice and some interesting dishes that was unique and I hadn’t seen before, I.e masala chips!! Very tasty. The portion sizes were also very generous, and the chicken was soft and of good quality. I really recommend the chicken tikka masala, the sauce was divine - so buttery and creamy. A fantastic Indian cuisine in the heart of Newquay. A must try.

This is our fourth visit and we love it. I’m Sikh and fussy about Indian food but the meals we have had are consistently good quality. Service is also excellent and friendly. Driving an hour from Devon is worth it and we will be back soon.

Popped in on a Tuesday night, thinking it would be a quiet affair, only to find it was packed like a Saturday night (due to restaurants in Newquay being closed for the winter season)... a little wait for a table, but wow was it worth it! Seen to promptly, and served drinks and poppadoms with a dips board.Ordered the chicken and lamb tikka biryani for myself and the missus, garlic naan with a side of Marsala chips (a MUST do!) The food was faultless, generous and hot, what more could you ask for....£40 bill was very reasonable, and worth every penny.Onto the service....As a deputy general manager of a leading pub chain, I was watching the FOH team run around like chickens, in tandem with one another, Justin taking the time to speak to guests and ourselves with humour and enthusiasm, I'd be stoked to have him part of my team, and is a credit to the Maharajah Newquay! Will be coming back again!

The greeting by staff was very unwelcoming and made me feel as if I were a real inconvenience. Very quiet with no atmosphere and deathly quiet dining area. All staff speaking in foreign language even when dealing with me. One individual, the Manager was extremely rude when entering. The food was pretty bland compared with other Indian restaurants and the staff didn’t know what to recommend when asked. Suggest another restaurant. Not worth the tension or the taste.

Second visit in 4 weeks. The first time was ace, this time even better. Fab food, lovely service. Best pickle/dip tray I’ve ever had.
