The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

I really enjoyed the food and it is a lovely building. I would only give 5 stars in rare circumstances but they come close. The table position was not great but I suppose I could have asked to be moved and a slight mix up on serving a side as a starter but minor issues. As stated, the food is really nice.

Visited 9th March. Large party of 12. Staff were friendly, helpful, efficient, and welcoming. The food was hot and beautifully presented and came out at the same time. We all enjoyed the food as it was delicious. The garlic and cheese naan was a real hit! The restaurant was clean and tidy and wasn't that busy being a Sunday evening, but several customers in and takeaways going out. If in the area we would eat here again

Best Indian food I've had in a long time

Unfortunately, quite mediocre. Table of 5, all currys were very similar in taste and also spicy heat (bearing in mind we had a range from butter chicken to madras). All dishes were very underseasoned which was strange for an Indians, although salt and pepper was on the table (the first time I've seen that in an Indians too, and perhaps due to people requesting it frequently). Indian beers served in Carling glasses (not too fussed about that, but it's the details). I would say that their poppadoms and chutneys were very nice, as were the Tia Maria coffees. But the main event is the curry, and they were a bit of a let down. The service was also a hit 'heavy', items were sometimes slung down on the table which was unnecessary and unpleasant when you're trying to have a relaxing evening. We went here due to receiving a gift card, but now that's used I doubt we'll be back anytime soon as there are other excellent Indian restaurants and takeaways nearby (e.g. Stannington to sit, Stakeford to takeaway).

Our meal was delicious,as always.Such a shame,this gem of a restaurant, is closing.It was very busy,tonight but great service and everyone was having a great time.Thank you to all the lovely staff,you will be missed.

Shop opening time is not up to date

Had my wife’s birthday here last night. Second time we have been and it really is fantastic. Food amazing and staff really friendly and attentive. All in all you must try this place. I hope they are successful in the future.

We have just had a takeaway from Zara. Absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The service whilst we waited was friendly, welcoming and professional. Discovered they do Sunday lunch too, will definitely be booking for that. 100% recommended. There is a reason why they have won so many awards.

I buy samosa chat for aftari, first he took 20 mins to prepare, When I opened the box, ufff it was too smelly looks like prepared before 15 days. I experienced this restaurant 3 times, it's the worst of all.

Happened across this place whilst visiting the area. I wasn't lured in by the photo of Boris Johnson and the claim of '4th best ' in the country but the favourable reviews and I wasn't disappointed. I'd like to try the three restaurants that beat it 😉 cos the good was so nice and plentiful at reasonable prices with very attentive staff.

Just had the best curry, Chicken Tikka Pathia from Bombay Longe Excellent and value for money 😆
