Food is good. The ambience is top notch too.

Found this place by chance..so glad we did. Had the buffet menu. Not the traditional help your self type. Set menu with different starters and mains but can have as many dishes as you can eat. ( we had 2 starter plates then the mains-plenty) Food was delicious and we didnt wait too long. Service was great. Would happily drive 40 miles to eat here again. £16.95 each. **sorry, didnt take photos Was too busy stuffing my face 🤣**

As with Indian restaurants. No matter what you order, it all tastes the same. It may be hotter or milder, but tasting the same.

This place is massive inside. The food was excellent and I shall be returning again in the future.

I went for dinner with my husband to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, we were greated by a nice waiter who invited us to sit in the foyer and gave us the menus, ordered a drink while choosing the food, we had poppadoms, starter plate, Iranian inspired dish and lamb biriani rice and a garlic nan. We went to our table and food was served soon after, everything was absolutely amazing and fresh, full of flavour and really good portions. Service was impeccable. In the end, the manager came over to ask us if all was to our liking. Will definitely come back many more times and recommend it to everyone.

The last time I visited Agra was year's ago as a child and even though it's literally on my doorstep I've never seemed to visit as I have always gone to the one Indian restaurant I have been used too as it's always guaranteed to be amazing! Last night we went as I thought I need to try it and see what it is like! All I can say is I've certainly missed out on such amazing meals all these years by not going! I definitely recommend this restaurant and we shall return here again! It is pricey compared to what we pay but the quality of the food and the taste makes it worth while. The staff were welcoming and the food service was great. No long waits, food came hot and they don't rush you. Thank you!

Excellent food, had a variety of starters folded by a balti dansak and a lamb samber. Very nice blend of flavour and spiced as described. Very good attentive service, felt like a valued customer. It was a Sunday night and was a little quite so no real vibe. Well worth a visit

In the past four months, have been to this restaurant twice for an evening meal, both times on a Friday, table booked for 6pm, very good atmosphere and warm welcome when entering the restaurant, staff very attentive to your needs,service superb, friendly staff that can't do enough for you, if you are not sure about a dish on the menu, ask a member of staff,they will be more than happy to help, as for the food, can't fault it, absolutely outstanding, from starters to mains I have not had a dish that was not superbly prepared, and equally enjoyed, on both visits there were four of us, all of the same opinion, superb Indian restaurant, we will definitely be visiting this restaurant again.

Pleasant comfy place, went last Sunday we had a choice of buffet or alcart menu. Warm clean, quite busy for time of day on Sunday? Chicken tikka, chicken coma, chicken tikka Jalfraze and all ways poppadoms onions ect to start. Food was good and hot. The most obvious thing was there was plenty of staff and everyone was really polite and helpful. 10/10 for Hospitality.

I went for the Sunday all you can eat 3 course banquet for 16.99 The starters were excellent full of flavour. but slightly disappointed with the 3 main courses which I and others in my party thought was a bit tasteless. Maybe it was because it was the banquet and not a curry from the main menu 🤔 I use the agra quite a bit over the years and always have a brill curry off the main menu so maybe skip the banquet

Great food great service, always a little quiet when we go but I suppose it depends.

We're so lucky to have this restaurant on our doorstep. Its the best Indian restaurant around by a long way. We go regularly and the staff are always engaging and attentive, they cannot do enough for you. We tried the Agra this year for our Christmas family lunch and we had a lovely meal and despite the restaurant being packed to the rafters we got good, timely service with personal touches. Great place to go for a curry and the Sunday buffet is brilliant.

Visited the Agra today (25/12/23) as a party of 5 adults and 4 kids. We have eatan at this restaurant periodically for years and years. Today was pretty abysmal. The starters were lukewarm at best. Kids had soup served with a hot dog roll - not even a nice, baked bread roll. The staff then asked if we would like 10-15 mins before the mains arrived, we kindly accepted. Not 3 minutes later our mains arrived. We had all chosen various set meal options so we all had different. The curries were not hot and lacked taste. The staff appeared to be rushed off their feet and lacking real organisation. We did not complain as we could see they simply did not have the time to replace 9 meals. The meal was just short of £400 which was pretty expensive for what was in short a main, a curry and rice to share between three people. Other than the lack of taste and heat we made the most and had an enjoyable family meal. We won’t return for Christmas next year, we will likely try to dine elsewhere.

Quick 2 hour works xmas meal, absolutely fantastic

Extremely polite staff who can't do enough for you. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Easy parking close to the door (for those with reduced mobility, there are a few shallow steps). It wasn't busy when we went, which perhaps affected the atmosphere, but we would definitely go back.

Food was delish, the staff were very efficient, friendly and professional. I was genuinely surprised by how attentive they were and how good a night it was there. Would definitely recommend checking it out. I love the way they bring out the candle powered hot plates before they bring out and put your food on top to keep it warm.

On our latest visit they have renovated the front and now it is smooth assess to the front door, no need to use a portable ramp, as my husband is in a wheelchair. As always the owners and family staff members were kind, funny and made our meal and visit there so much nicer. The food as always was great. Really enjoy coming to this place. We would visit weekly if we could.

Food and service exceptional.. We had the Sunday buffet at £16.99 per person, so varied and very tasty, you can order extra at no additional cost, though I never had you just get so much. Wines start at £13.99 a bottle we had the chardonnay at £16.50 very good wine. If you enjoy Indian food you will enjoy going to Agra Indian Restaurant. Good parking facilities and wheelchair friendly. 😍

Had a lovely time here for my 50th the waiters made me feel very special, there was 15 of us and all food come out together give ir take a nann or 2 😁 over all a fab time

Visited for the Sunday buffet and was very impressed. The Sunday buffet changes every week so gives you chance to try starters sides and mains you may not usually choose. I’ve explored some currys I really enjoy that I wouldn’t have usually picked by coming to the sunday buffet. The mains come as a mild medium and hot so something for everyone. If the Sunday buffet isn’t to your taste , you can order from the normal menu. It is excellent value for money the Sunday buffet especially if you’re hungry. The food is always extremely tasty when I visit here. we ordered takeout for collection. Food was fantastic and portions were great. It was prepared quickly as it was midweek and they were quiet.

My wife and I eat out twice a week and moved from our usual haunt (Usha) to our second and last visit to the Agra. My wife was served a dish with lamb chops that was supposed to be the chefs speciality. We know when we are served leftovers that have been reheated. We of course complained and had an argument with some idiot manager who tried to convince us that meat cooked on the bone was tough meat. These Indian restaurants have no shame, you go for a meal out spending your hard earned only to be served re heated inedible leftovers shame shame shame on you.

The food is absolutely delicious, it's always service with a smile, the staff are friendly and welcoming I would highly recommend The Agra Indian restaurant, my wife and I go as often as we can, it's our go to Indian restaurant!!! ;0)

Called here the other evening and it was very quiet. The draught Cobra wasn't the best. The service was false, unfriendly and quite arrogant and the food wasn't much better. The restaurant is very tired and cramped seating, the carpets are filthy and there is an unpleasant odour throughout. The sticker on the window upon entering says, illegally, hygiene is 'five' but if you check the official hygiene website you will find that it is in fact 'three'!

Ordered Ajebaje, lamb bhuna and vegetable curry. This is a really nice place. Everything was freshly cooked and tasty. Service was friendly and quick. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend.

Very disappointed with our take away from here tonight! The lamb bhuna & chicken korma was pretty tasteless & bland & the meat not very tender. Salad was served in a plastic carrier bag ! Definitely will not be ordering from here again!

What a lovely place not been here for years. Don't know why but am glad I went my mum fancied going for an Indian and I work down the road for this place driven past it so many times. Had a table booked for 4pm got there early which wasn't an issue. The staff were warm and friendly service was awesome. Knowledge of the menu which is great had poppadoms and chutneys and cauliflower bhaji on a puri it was delicious. The I had grilled fish my mum had a dopiazi with chapatti the food was piping hot and tasty. Value for money absolutely. Will i go back again definitely as it was so nice. The staff were born on so thanks guys will see you again. Keep up the great work.

We have been away from the UK since covid and our Family and best friends have always had a tradition of coming to Agra to celebrate our visit. Once again we were well looked after, the Menu was extensive and once again the Onion Bargies were to die for. We opted for a Butter Chicken which was a little milder than what we have at home but it was still very nice.. The rest of our party ordered better and had a wonderful time. Hope we can come back sooner than the 3 years we have been missing this time..Thx for a wonderful night AGRA

Beautiful location and restaurant decor to match. Excellent service and truly delicious food. Our first time here. We had lamb chops with a minced lamb curry and a boiled egg. Wonderful. 4 lamb chops 😊. King prawn Rangoon had a spicy onion, tomato and capsicum sauce and there were lots of prawns on the shell. Pilau rice was good but …. The garlic Nan was exceptional. Freshly cooked, beautifully thin with just the right amount of butter. The best I have ever eaten - and I’ve eaten a few! Nothing to improve, wonderful meal. Thank you.

It was our first time at Agra , I we weren’t disappointed, the staff very polite, helpful and nothing was a problem to them! The atmosphere was great but most of all the food that we had was fantastic and a very nice cold beer awesome!! 100 %we will be going back! Thanks for a lovely night everyone!!!

Food was quite nice though a little bland and the chicken was pretty dry. I wasn't blown away by the food but would probably go again as it was decent enough and close to where I live. Ample parking, friendly staff and good service

Great food as normal, but it's got very expensive for actually very little food that you recieve. food was excellent but for a naga mixed lamb chicken curry 17.95 plus extra for rice , chapatti and only a small dish it's actually dearer than a curry on brick Lane London.. why? I appreciate food prices and energy but sadly that's the last time I'll be going to agra, just to dear... shame even a customer for years before the fire and upto thus week... Just cannot justify that expense on so little a food dish.. Since the pandemic I have been enjoying making curries at home, seeing how much it costs to make curry at home I can see that the cost in a restaurant is highly expanded and not warranted.. yes great food but now over priced.. We should have good quality food at a restaurant for the price, but the chicken and lamb was megre, I had 3 pieces of lamb and 3 pieces of chicken and to be fair £17.95 it eas not worth the cost but the enjoyment of eating and dining with friends was great... For £194 and change for 4 for a curry and starters ..its a lot.. sadly too much .. its a great place, I would recommend you go it's nice food but it's just too dear for us and we are in a good financial position without sounding modest.. but its a review and this was mine.. Sorry Agra after 20 plus years we have to say good bye your a great place to dine but I cannot justify paying your prices in todays expensive world. Just add the prices in London are actually cheaper and you get more food, so really no excuse to charge these new prices...

Visited here pre-booked our party. Lovely & inviting staff on arrival, & friendly throughout our time here. Bar & seating area situated at the front, & a cloakroom available for coats too. We sat with our drinks until all parties arrived here, taken to our table, a very large restaurant with lot's of customer's tonight. Lovely food, from starters to main, service was fantastic 👌, large car park area outside, easy to find off main road. Lovely atmosphere, very warm deco & lighting, & it was lovely & warm inside, definitely recommend eating here.

I like a good Indian and have ate at many. There was once one in Bury which was amazing but has gone over a decade ago, none since have been quite as good, until I came to Agra, it's superb! Service spot on and food as good as I've ever had.

The Agra was buzzing it was busy with a good atmosphere. Staff were lovely and attentive. The food was delicious and all 10 of us enjoyed ourselves.

A few of us ate here but found there was more sauce than meat it was very crowded and l think they overbooked as we had to wait nearly half an hour after our booked time to be taken to a table

Takeaway tonight very disappointing! Definitely won't be ordering from here again. Salad was served in a plastic carrier bag ! As for the food, both lamb bhuna & chicken korma was tasteless ( lamb not tender & not a great deal of chicken!!) Not recommended

There are not many Sunday Indian buffet options left these days. Agra do a very good one, though you order it and it brought to your table. You can still eat as much as you want though. The food was very good indeed and the service was exceptional, fantastic friendly staff. Wonderful.

First ever visit for the wife & I having recently moved to the area. Faultless, great food, fair priced, wide menu, very clean, friendly staff, huge inside, big car park etc etc. Highly recommend. Already looking forward to our next visit (LOVE THE PLACE)

We are very much seasoned regulars at the Agra. It’s great. All the staff are very friendly and the food is always delicious. Highly recommend the Balti Madras. Have some great weekly offers on and the Sunday buffet menu offers superb value. Their pint of Cobra is the best in the land! Love it, will always return.

Myself and my husband have been previously and the food and service has always been absolutely spot on, however we attended on fathers day with our two toddlers and my father. We booked a table for 17:45, however the table wasn't ready so we sat and waited which was tough with two young children but we coped. We sat down and we had to then ask a guy if we could order, he took our order and as you do we waited... and waited.. and waited.. an hour passed since our original booking (bare in mind the kids are screaming by this point) we was waiting for poppadoms.. around 30 minutes passed and a guy came over took an order for some drinks and told us he will find out how long our poppadoms would be... 10 minutes passed.. still no poppadoms and then the starter came out (cold may I add) so we waited 40 minutes for our poppadoms to be forgotten.. whilst the table next to us was empty with two poppadoms sat there on the table waiting for the customers to be seated? As for our starter it was cold.. not to mention it took a good 20 minutes to recieve the second round of drinks. And then the main course arrived and again some of the food piping and some of its cold. The bill costing near £100 when the experience was just nowhere near worth that. Yes I'd Attend mid week when it's quiet and the staff aren't rushed off their feet but any other public holiday no definitely not, it seems as though there's as lack of communication between the staff. You're crammed into the restaurant like sardines but then the staff struggle to keep up with the service.. so my question would be why take so many bookings if you're understaffed and cannot fulfill the service? There just seemed to be absolutely no organisation whatsoever, Staff seemed extremely stressed because of this? I understand a busy period but surely each member of staff should be prioritising different sections of the restaurant? The guys were sweating buckets, so yeah I definitely feel like there's a massive lack of organisation in busy periods. By the time the food arrived I personally wasn't hungry anymore.

*****As you can see from below the management have wrote a reply stating that we ate ALL the food when infact we said to the waiter we felt really rude leaving it as there was a lot of left overs, WE DID NOT order seconds at all infact the waiter actually asked us whether we would like to try the balti and the jalfrazi to which we replied "yes", how dare you lie about a customer this!!!! Absolutely disgusting customer service and very very rude!!!! I seriously cannot believe they have LIED in the reply rather than trying to make the customer happy. We don't normally complain about anything as we don't like to offend anyone but they offended us with a bad attitude, also may I point out that a buffet is something where you go up and help yourself, what the restaurant is serving is a set menu. Perhaps go to the following restaurants instead ANAZ IN DARWEN WHITECROFT IN OSWALDTWISTLE FARMERS GLORY ON THE WAY TO HASLINGDEN At least it would be money well spent!!!!! ORIGINAL REVIEW!!!! We haven't been here for a very long time and decided to go for a nice family meal. We were greeted by a lovely chap who was then our server for the duration of the meal. Unfortunately the rest of the experience wasn't as nice, the curry was tasteless with no flavour and we ordered from the buffet menu so had 3 curries to chose from, we had 1 of each curry and all had no taste even the "hot" curry, the chips were undercooked and the beer was flat. When we got the bill we decided to speak with management who told us that unfortunately because the curry is made in a stock pot the quality changes but if we had ordered an individual curry this wouldn't have been the case. They didn't offer to even knock a small amount off the bill and very confrontational when we explained we weren't happy with the meal will not be coming here again which is a shame after previous enjoyable experiences.

Went on a Saturday night and it was very quiet. This place used to be heaving. We haven't been for a while and always had to book...or be prepared to wait. But we showed up and we were shown straight to a booth. we were given plenty of time to peruse the menu and the waiters answered any queries patiently. we had poppadoms to begin, plus shared a selection of starters...then shared a curry. All the starters were excellent. We had chicken korai which was very, very mild (as mild as a korma), not even a 'medium' curry...it could've done with more spices. however, it was tasty and beautifully presented and we left the restaurant full to bursting! The place looks a little tired and the rows of tables in the middle looks very school canteen!! - management should definitely change this and only put them in rows for larger groups as and when needed, it would look so much better! Great service, great food, great company.

Staff was very unfriendly, not even a smile.. food was forgettable, the restaurant's design is so old and nothing look like its an Indian restaurant. Big disappointment, definitely not going there again.

Firstly. Somehow I have reviewed the Agra previously with 2 stars. So apologies.. Service was generally good, prompt and all as we ordered. Quality of food was good but my lamb not 100%. I always have lamb and this was the first time. So didn't make a fuss. Still love the place. Good to be back👌

The restaurant is housed in a barn conversion in a rural location with great views of the surrounding hills. It has a large carpark. We have visited on previous occasions and really enjoyed the food. Sadly on this occasion the food was not up to the previous standard. The chicken Tandoori lacked flavour and the prawn dish was chewy. I’m not sure what has gone wrong here but hopefully it is a temporary issue.

Fantastic fresh food! You can tell this is freshly cooked and authentic. We had the Sunday buffet and left feeling very full! Great staff were always on hand to check if we wanted more food and if everything was OK. Brilliant service. Definitely worth a visit!

The Agra was great.Staff were very helpful and light-hearted and the food was good - but maybe just a wee bit off the standards of their hospitality.
