My family loves this restaurant, especially my 9yr old son who always asks to come here when he gets a reward. The staff are fantastic, the food comes out at a fast pace but always cooked to perfection even when we ask for things to be hotter than what is on the menu. When we want to eat out, Manzils is always one of our main places to go.

The service was excellent. The food was a little bland, which was disappointing. No traditional Indian music playing to add to the experience either. It is possible that it improves as the night goes on, but we're unlikely to return to find out.

Fined on a special menu night. Food was nice but service was not as nice. Some of our party were 2 minutes late and waiter was asking where they were as they had our table booked out after us which gave us 1 hour exactly to dine. Hot plates were dirty too we noticed. Put us right off. Won’t be back

We went into restaurant late Saturday night The food was Awful The service was Rushed The curry sauces where like Spaghetti sauce Will never go again.

Food standards have dropped. The flavour isn't the same or the portion sizes. To ask about the food and the quality to be told its all to do with the quality of spices, not the customers problem. It is still a good establishment, but the quality and quantity have dropped. Hopefully, it can get back to what it was like years ago..... I wait to find out.

I'm coeliac ,so lack of choice in the menu.My onion bhaji was tasteless,they couldn't make raita properly,over westernised,green peppers in most of the curries for cheap bulk. Not a good experience,shan't be going back

Went for lunch. 3 courses for £9.95. Excellent service and value. It’s a smaller menu than evening but something for everyone. Main course with rice are a smaller portion but perfectly adequate for a normal person at lunch time

When for a collection takeaway tonight staff where very busy with new year day evening meals but they give everyone the time of day the staff have always been amazing however tonight food wasn't the best I bought a chicken korma with side their was hardly any chicken in the korma their was only about 4 pieces of chicken and the onion bhijijs where very oily and the meal was cold by the time we came to eating it yes I understand it was a collection but it to be as cold as it was by the time i came to eat it is was disgusting normal when I by a takeaway like this is at least warm

Reheated food despite asking for time between our starter and main course, served with little or no enthusiasm by the waiter Very disappointed

This is a lovely venue great location nice staff. However the food is ok but lacks the feeling of being freshly prepared.

I was visiting Morpeth for the first time and went here with my partners family. I was very impressed with the service and the quality of the food. There were plenty of vegetarian options. Very good surroundings with plenty of atmosphere. I would recommend for sure.

Situated just off the main street, on Old Gate in front of the imposing clock tower, the nondescript entrance hides something truly special. On entering, I was greeted immediately and seated at a table. The style and surroundings are intimate, with around 15 tables, but in no way does it feel cramped! It has smart/casual vibe, something that takes me back to my childhood. The sound of instrumental jazz at just the right volume meant the restaurant had a charming atmosphere. The like the pickle chutney, if I'm being honest I could have eaten that ALL night! The onion bhaji were quick excellent, crispy and not too heavy but very flavoursome. The Jelfrazi, the chef's special was equally sublime, though a bit more source would not have gone amiss, still, it was not too spicy, and the veg was cooked to perfection! It's at this point I would like to say, the staff were very attentive, never letting the table fill up with empty plates. Despite the full meal, I gave into temptation and endured in a cookies&cream ice cream... I would recommend this tasty little sweeter anytime. Here's to another 40 years, A true hidden gem.

Took my son out for a birthday meal and what a disappointment.Chicken korma looked insipid and prawn dish not very good.Rice luke warm and mushy.Only good thing was the wine but it was very expensive. My diet coke was flat.Will not be back

The service in the restaurant is excellent. Kind, informative and very attentive. I was disappointed with my Dhansak. Neither sweet or sour. The rest of the food was delicious. The view is lovely. I would go back. I would have the achari next time.

Didnt make a reservation, but they made up a table for us. It was very busy which is always a good sign. It didnt disappoint either. Great service, beautifully cooked food. Portions on the large side. 1 order of rice is enough for two people. Starters were big too. Would definitely recommend having a meal here

I have to admit this is my favourite Indian restaurant of all time. I don't live in the town anymore but whenever I visit Morpeth I always have a meal here. Obviously, it helps if you are recognised when you pop in but the staff have changed over the years and yet there is always a continuity of friendliness and excellent food. All their dishes I have tried are really tasty and in my experience they serve the best Tarka Dahl I have had anywhere. Christmas 2022, everything was as good as it has always been.

A good old fashioned curry house

Have given this place the benefit of the doubt on numerous occasions now, hoping the quality of the food would improve. Sadly this has not been the case. The level of cooking is pure guesswork and amateur. There is no play on taste with herbs and spices. The meals are either completely bland, or too hot with no taste. Have been eating Indian cuisine for over 40 years, and cooking Indian meals for over 20 years. Come on Manzil, sort your chef out.

Went here on Saturday. Friendly, efficient staff and absolutely tremendous food! Lovely location in Morpeth, great views over the town from their window seats and extensive menu. Food was fabulous in both quantity and quality. And not overly expensive which is a bonus! Wholehearted recommended.

We’d not been to Manzil for a while until last night and I’m not sure we’ll go back. The “pickle tray” was served in plastic pots (??!!), the chicken in both our mains was tough and chewy, my curry was very hot as advertised but other than that it was flavourless, and the restaurant lacked atmosphere.

Visited Manzil last night with 10 friends for my 60th birthday meal. Service was excellent and the food absolutely fantastic. Great night.

5 stars just for the naan.... damn

Could be so much better. They forgot to get our drinks, TWICE. The pickle, chutney etc that came with the poppadoms were in takeaway plastic tubs and just plonked on a plate! No nice pickle tray here.....They gave us our dessert menu and after dinner mints BEFORE our mains. It's a shame as the food was actually quite nice. Please sort yourselves out on the service front and we'll come back.

Pickles arrived on table in plastic tubs with lids on ! We did not ask for a take away - chicken dhansak was tasteless and tough no pineapple in it -.would not rush back !

Lovely food and friendly service

Being a restaurant, there's a bigger selection of different dishes, makes a nice change from standard takeaways. Staff always welcoming and helpful, food very tasty. Restaurant is normally quite busy most nights, delivery not available but collection always available and on time.

Absolutely outstanding takeaway tonight! Super busy in the restaurant, the quality of the food never waivers! Been using over 20 years and never disappoints.

Fantastic Indian! Shame we weren't local, it was wonderful. The staff were so incredibly friendly and amazing to the children in the restaurant. They clearly would tailor any dish to how you like it.

It's was my first time dinning with Manzil tandoori the staff was fantastic helping out with dietary needs and nut allergies they cooked the food we required with coconut milk. It tasted fantastic. The staff was friendly.

Pretty tasty food and very organized, as soon as the last bit of food is in your mouth, the bill is on the table. I hate going to places where you need to send up a flare to get some attention just to request the bill.

Went here with a group of friends, I ordered chicken madras. The chicken was very dry and as a madras goes was not that spicy. My friend had the chicken dansak and said it had no taste.

Visited 17th July 21 . Really enjoyed the whole experience, great seat with a view of the lovely clock tower. Onion bhaji's were perfect with plenty of sauce which was lovely. I had lamb tikka butter and the lamb was lovely and tender. Probably the best Indian I have ever had. My husband really enjoyed his too. Staff were very attentive and friendly.

My Husband and I had a Takeaway meal last Saturday and were very disappointed. The onion bhajis were very dry as if they had been reheated several times. I had King Prawn Passanda. They were the smallest prawns I have ever seen and certainly not King Prawns, so breaking all trade description laws. Sauce which was described as containing mango and nuts was tasteless and doubt it had any mango in it. My Husband's Chicken Jalfrezi was slightly better although again rather bland. Will not be returning for further Takeaways.

Of all the Indian restaurants in the area, Manzil is by far the best. Got a takeaway on NYE that was ready promptly for collection and food was as good as eating in the restaurant.
