Always had good food and service but last night we booked a table for 11 people got there only a table for 6 so they wanted to split the party up but in the end asked people to move tables to make room for us (good for us not them ) service very slow , food was very nice as it always is Go to pay as couples what a nightmare then they tried to over charge us Unorganised chaos

Had a great curry Thursday night. As a group of seven we were looked after. If you’re in Whittlesey and want a curry you must try it. Top drawer!

The food was lovely, we all had different dishes and everyone enjoyed it. The waiter was exceptional, remembered people's name's and had a great sense of humour.

We had a really great meal and evening last Saturday night, the Naga chilli chicken was outstanding and I would recommend the Sonargoan special chicken breast, well worth a visit, keep it up guys, thank you all.

Probably the best curry I've had

Absolutely insane - have had takeaway twice from here and have been more than impressed. The food is of such a high quality and is so tasty. I would highly recommend!

We asked for mild curry and it was spicy, it was £16.50 for a mixed grill which contained a chicken leg. The atmosphere was non existent and the service was terrible when approached about the concerns raised. I was told ‘ I read the menu before ordering a mixed grill’ it doesn’t state one piece of chicken. Furthermore the gentlemen dealing with my concern pointed at me repeatedly and got louder almost to embarrass me in front of the restaurant. I moved to the bar to be away from majority of people. The second he realised my boyfriend was behind me. He was listening. Who I assume was the owner told me the cost of everything had gone up and put that on to me and that I cannot complain. He stated he doesn’t accept my complaint. I would not recommend the restaurant.

Poor service, waited 1hr40mins, for a delivery, rang up numerous times, with no answers to when our food would be delivered, no apology, just got, we’re busy, eventually got our food, lukewarm, and not worth the money, tasted like microwave food, will not be going there again.

Great food and great people. Been using this restaurant for a long time now and always had lovely friendly welcome. Food was excellent four of us and we all enjoyed it. Only one thing the boss gave us complimentary night caps and we still had our drinks on the table, went out for a quick vape came back and young waiter had cleared it all away, even though our coats were still on the chairs. Ordered takeaway, came quickly but quality of the curry was awful, lamb samosa might aswell have had dog meat in it. Chicken in Currys was really really dry. Naan wasn't bad to be honest, but I binned the rest. Worst curry I have had.

New year's eve meal booked. The food was not as good as previous times ive been, seemed very rushed not the best service. Orher tables seemed to have been waiting over an hr for food. Maybe dont book so many people in or take so many takeaway orders if not the staffing capacity to cope with the demand

Excellent cuisine and superb customer service. My family were visiting from Hampshire and we were looking for a take-away on Boxing Day. On arrival the manager gave us a very warm welcome and even offered us some drinks whilst we were waiting for our order. When we got back home with the takeaway the quality of food was excellent and my family, who have an abundance of Asian cuisine in Hampshire, said it was very good quality and tasted great. Highly recommend !!

Excellent place, been once and fell in love. Since then I was three times there with family and friends- we all love the atmosphere over there, feels like home. Staff is friendly, they do small talk with kids-making jokes and small chat with them makes a difference. Lovely food for a good price.

I recently ordered from Sonargaon Tandoori restaurant and unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. Despite road closures in the town on a busy Saturday night, I was willing to wait for my takeaway delivery. However, the service provided and the quality of the food left much to be desired. After an initial 20-minute delay, I called the restaurant for an update. They assured me that my order was on its way, and although I understood the challenges they were facing, I patiently awaited its arrival. Another 20 minutes passed, and with no sign of my food, I reached out again. This time, I was informed about the road closures and a parked van causing difficulties for the delivery drivers to find suitable parking spots. They assured me that my order had just been dispatched and would arrive shortly. Trusting their word, I continued to wait, hoping for a satisfying meal. Regrettably, when the food finally arrived, it was disheartening to find that it was cold. Despite their claim of sending out fresh food, it had been in transit for an hour. This lack of attention to maintaining the food's temperature was disappointing. What further exacerbated my disappointment was the fact that I had been misled on multiple occasions. Instead of being transparent about the challenges they were facing, the restaurant provided false information about the status of my order. Had they been forthcoming, I would have considered collecting the food myself to ensure its warmth. Considering the significant amount I spent on the order, around £50, I had expected better customer service and a higher level of care. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend Sonargaon Tandoori. It is disheartening to say that I won't be returning to this restaurant in the future. My encounter with Sonargaon Tandoori was marked by poor customer service, misleading information, and the delivery of cold food. It is my hope that the restaurant takes this feedback constructively and works towards improving their service to provide a better dining experience for their customers.

Fab food, great service and sensible prices

We tried this place last night service was good they advertised buffet eat as much as you like so we decided to go for this then finding out this consisted of about 3 mains there own starter which was like a flat onion bargee and 1 piece of chicken with onion I had chicken madras chicken was almost none existent and didn't even remotely taste like chicken madras my wife had a dunsak small prawn which we where charged extra then charged again because was small prawn asked for more and was told thats it said eat as much as you like staff where pleasant food wasnt all that wint be going again

Staff were kind and helpful, I cannot fail them, however, i went there Friday 24 Nov 2023 with a friend. I didn’t say much not to offend my friend who took me there. Sauces were very nice! but my main food was disastrous!!!! We were charged £17 or so for a “King Prawn” dish that had a couple of extremely chewy disgusting small pieces of twisted prawns - I think were about small half 4 pieces in a bed of onions. It was somewhat insipid and greasy. Worst food ever. I lived in Birmingham for 10 years. I have eaten good “English/Indian curries. That was a disaster. Sorry cannot recommend it and will not ever set foot there again. If you want to avoid disappointment and to be charge a ridiculous amount of money for a platter with onions, avoid this place!!!

This restaurant used to be really good but the last two occasions the food was of a lesser quality and the portions were much smaller. The heating was in when we went in but soon went off and despite us telling the staff the temperature didn’t improve so I actually had my meal with my coat on! Never again.

We went here 3 times in the last week. So many choices! It's the best East Indian food we have ever had and the staff was so friendly. It has been our favorite restaurant in the UK.

Went for dinner with family. I ordered lamb biriyani. It was delicious 😋🤤 I told them to make in bangladeshi style. Their pickle tray is nice. We enjoyed the starter as well. Chicken with saag was okay. Staffs was really friendly.Will recommend 9/10

One of 5he worst curry houses I've ever visited. Chicken vindaloo had so much oil that needed to be drained off and had very few pieces of chicken in put surprisingly chucks of potato in it ? Service was good and friendly but I'd suggest if you want a half decent curry travel a few miles into peterborough

Service has gone right down hill here… we have been using Sanargaon for over 15 year and have always rated it.. best Indian. But ordered a delivery as normal was waiting and messed around on phone as was huffed at for paying by card and they said would call back and hung up.. about 20 mins later I ended up calling them back and the man on other end phone quite abruptly said would call back.. about 30-45 mins to pay.. then half order was missing..called up and all I got was.. we have not charged you for it.. Sorry to say we will be looking for another Indian takeaway

My visit here was accompanied by 15 work colleagues as a reward for a job well done. Some of my colleagues have been to this restaurant before but, for me it was a new one I was keen to try. On arrival, we were met by the really friendly staff who showed us to our tables. The decor of the place was clean and fresh, and our tables were immaculately set. Once everyone had arrived, the staff went through our starters, and everyone was happy with that choice, then ordered drinks and poppadoms. The service was speedy, but not rushed, the staff were having a laugh and joke with our party and this helped to create a great atmosphere. Once the food started arriving, it was very obvious to see why this was on my companies list of top restaurants to go to for any celebration. The starters tasted amazing, and the onion bhaji was huge, compared to some other Indian restaurants I've eaten in. I ordered the lamb tikka jalfreze as my main course but with 16 orders going in, plus lots of side dishes, there was plenty to go round and allowed everyone to sample a dish they had perhaps not tried before. One dish I tried was the lamb chops, which one of my colleagues said was the best he'd ever had. They certainly lived up to the hype, as they didn't last long in the dish. Everything looked and tasted so good that it was obvious why this was a hit with everyone who's been there before. I'm already looking forward to our next works party but will be going there with family in the immediate future. I dare you to try it and not come away wanting more. I can't recommend this place enough.

Food is always absolutely delicious, never had a bad meal here . Only slight issue was the wait times however they said sorry with a free bottle of red wine. But the staff are so friendly and this is a hidden gem in Cambridgeshire .

Fantastic food and amazing service

A warm welcome. Pappad very fresh & relish tray outstandingly good. Chicken korma was tasty & fruity and lamb dhansak great with fresh mango as opposed to usual tinned pineapple! Great value and well worth a trip out

Lovely food although portion sizes for curry were very small on takeaway. Friendly staff and a nice cosy environment. So many options that it's hard to choose at times. Prices are a bit steep but so is everywhere else in the area. A decent place overall.

Not the best Indian I've had. Not great presentation, the starter came with onions hanging over the side of the plate. My dish was bland the others were ok but nothing amazing. It is stifling hot inside and we couldn't wait to leave. The service is friendly though.

Wasnt very happy, 2 dishes pulling out a few long human hairs in both meals and wasnt the first time I have phoned because of long black hairs in the meal. When arrived with a replacement the man was calling me a liar and started being aggressive at my door as if I was making this up instead of an apology. He was lucky my kids were in the house ill tell you that much. I will never order from them again. Discusting people.

Restaurant smells bad. And staff and management are argumentative with guest. Guide dogs and assistance dogs are not allowed, despite Equality Act of 2010. Manager is above law and if you eat there you are supporting this. What else does he feel entitled to be above law on? Food safety codes? Don't chance it. Plenty of other safer choices.

This restaurant used to be fantastic!!! However it has gone downhill rapidly. We ate there last year and the food was unrecognisable from previous meals. So we left very disappointed and said we wouldn’t be going back in a hurry. So roll forward a year and decided to give it another go yesterday evening to be even more bitterly disappointed. I had chicken bedam passanda and it turned up greasy with hardly any sauce the tiniest bits of cut up chicken that were dried out. I called the waiter over he made a grumbled comment and took it away and brought it back a min later with sauce poured over the same dish, the sag aloo had no flavour and extremely greasy my husband’s meal was also dreadful the only enjoyable part of the meal was the poppadom’s. When we paid (£60) they asked if we had enjoyed the meal! When we said it was the worst we had ever eaten the waiter said I suppose you won’t be coming back then?? We said no we wouldn’t. I very rarely write a bad review but this was so shockingly bad.

Tasty food. Very busy when visiting. Brilliantly chaotic.

Not as good as what the reviews suggest for me. I had a Jalfrezi, it was very oily and ok tasty. The naan was very heavy and doughie. It was an ok meal but I’ve tasted much better.

Starters good...nan good rice very good...main no heat at all...lamb tikka bhuna two stars for chilli ..no chilli at all in it no hotter than a korma...and the lamb was tough...so either over cooked on slow heat or mutton.....no air con way way too hot....at those prices an Aircon engineer should be a priority especially with so many tables...

Very disappointing visit for an early fathers day meal . Hottest day of year and air conditioning advertised restaurant was not working according to management but was told it's too costly to run by member of staff . So on to the food , starters were lovely n tasty , that's where it ended for us ! It's one thing putting up prices to claw back lost revenue during covid and another to compensate for rising utility prices I can cope with but to cut down on portion size aswell I believe the owner is now trying to take the pi%#.£7.50 for a chicken korma containing 4 yes 4 pieces of meat is not good for repeat business. Added to this after plating said curry it was noticed the plate was cracked in several places to the point you could move both halves of the plate in different directions. The waiter was called over and after explaining the above asked if we wanted another plate?No I mentioned it because I always like to eat off broken Crockery that could be harbouring germs!! Now bearing in mind he took away the cracked plate with the korma and pilau rice , he then returned with a new plate and 3 extra pieces of chicken to compensate for the small portion and no rice but in the end was only 1 extra piece of chicken as he had taken 2 pieces (half) on the cracked plate ....keep up people pls. After this saga I lost any appetite I had left and gave up on my meal . Came the bill time and yes you've guessed it we were billed for everything! I/we never dine out looking to pull a fast 1 and seek a discount and if good I will tell you and the same if not . This was not to a good standard and the owner was made aware of this . To his credit 50% was taken off the bill and a complimentary drink after a few choice words but more importantly for him , as a result of his greed in charging over the odds for what is served up he has lost customers . Shame really as food is descent.

Was really looking forward to lunch here as the reports were really good. Unfortunately today was not a good experience, the onion bhaji starter was soggy and very oily. We ordered the buffet lunch and there was plenty of it but it was all overly sweet and badly cooked . The only thing that was really good was the nan bread and the service. Sorry but on my experience today I would not recommend this restaurant. Maybe just a bad day for them. Let's hope so.

We used to eat there a lot before lock down but haven't really got back in to the habit of going out. We got a takeaway from there on Saturday for the first time in 2 years and it certainly did not disappoint - it was absolutely delicious. We are going to get another one tonight :-)

Good friendly staff, clean an tidy.

I was one of a party of 15 at this restaurant and cannot praise it enough. All staff were attentive and friendly and all of us were served quickly despite the numbers. The food was delicious and the staff even went out of their way to make me a drink that was not on the menu. Will definitely be going again.

We visited this restaurant for my Birthday. The food was extremely good and very tasty. The atmosphere was a bit plain as there was only one other couple and no background music. The staff did not speak very good English at all so you could not communicate with them. We only had a starter each and a main each with two drinks, this totaled to £65 which we thought was really expensive. There was also no option for a pudding or coffee so once you had your main, it was just the bill to pay.. it was good food but poor atmosphere and very expensive.

The person taking the order was rude.Paid 16 pounds for a balti,pilu rice and a keema naan.portions were small,naan was burnt.the lamb balti had 6 small,tough and grisly bits of lamb.i will not be going back.a 5 pound deal at tesco would have been better.

The food we recieved today has been absolutely delicious. The food tasted homemade and you could tell it had been freshly cooked. It is, by far, the best Indian meal we have had . It's an amazing restaurant but needs alittle more waiting staff.. the food is amazing. Not too expensive and really authentic. The choice on the menu is vast and they really know their stuff. We go there often and if you go early they will always get you in. Fills up quickly so advise pre booking. Great choice of drinks too. 5 stars but needs another waiter on the floor. Best Indian I've been too.

First of all if I could give this a 0 star I would!! We waited 1hour to be asked if we wanted a drink menu, further half hour went by still not asked for food!! After waiting in there 2hours!! We finally received our food...
