Gurkha Spice in Fenland

Staff were very attentive without disturbing us during our meal. We had a lovely vegan meal which was very tasty. The staff were able to describe the ingredients of each course & guided us through the menu so we knew which foods we could eat.

It was very busy when we went in no tables available. So we waited a while & the waiter fetched a table for me & sat us down in the middle of the restaurant it was great food brilliant service 👍 really enjoyed it

My husband and I ordered a takeaway meal from here. The Chicken tikka starter did not taste like tikka. It was diced chicken in a mixture of spices. The Chicken Tikka main was watery, plain, 5 little cubes of Chicken. We ordered two naan breads "this place makes one naan and cuts it in half to give you one each. The rice was hard and cold. If you want a decent curry in the uk please take your self to Cheetham hill or Wilmslow Road in Manchester. Or Bradford. Dear owner please employ Bangladesh chefs and stop dishing out food that taste like it is cooked from a European chef. Some of us are from predominantly cultural areas.

Absolutely fantastic, the owner is fantastic, I couldn't recommend enough.

Naan bread was like cardboard. Rice was stone cold. Will not order from here again

Bombay potatoes not cooked enough, chips were the same. Food wasn’t hot and had to reheat in the oven. Onion bhaji was full of grease and half the size as normal. Overall not good. Egg fried rice was tasteless. Not their usual standard at all

50 yards from front door, very lucky always warmly welcomed and food and service is great. Friendly although can be a bit rowdy but what do you expect when such a great Place to eat out.

Was in March to attend a Funeral This Place came up as Good Food and Value for Money had The Sunday Meal Deal which was Good a value at £15 With £1 upgrade on various nans and Rices . Nice atmosphere with very Friendly Staff Looks like a lot of regulars as very busy for a Sunday Recommended

A curry house that serves all the favourites but also some nepalese specials. We really enjoyed a previous visit so as we we're nearby visited again. The service was very good and quick, food well presented. Highly recommended and will return.

First time here, well looked after and tried the Nepalese dishes... Very nice and recommend the Kathmandu dish.. Very good. 😋👍

The food simple the best, spice's in the right place's staff made you feel at home delicately spiced

The food needs more flavour although is cooked well. The main issue is that we had to return due to the them not providing 1 item in our takeaway. What makes it worse was that they didn't even provide anything additional as an apology, not even a pompadom. I'm not impressed and I will not be returning.

Did not receive my order at all

Good indian food. We like the the typical Indian food and this came as a surprise. Price is decent and on Thursday dinner and Sunday lunch they have set menu offer.

Awesome place and amazing food and served by the best. You will not be disappointed. Had take away service too which wasn't great, but the restaurant service is 100%.

Ordered one butter chicken and one chicken tikka masala, received two butter chicken instead. Rang them and they promised to bring a chicken tikka masala, but although the chicken was in chunks this time, the sauce on it was still butter chicken sauce! We gave up at this point. The one butter chicken that we did order had very tiny pieces of chicken in it, no more than six pieces and there was far too much sauce to make it look as though you had got a lot of food but in reality the meal was just made up of sauce and lots of rice. Very disappointed.

Portions OK but completely lacked any taste. Chicken Madras, rated 3 chillies for heat, no heat or taste. My wife's chicken Pakora had less flavour/spice than a McDonalds Chicken Nugget, and her Squid was just battered squid, nothing else in it. The Mushroom starter I had said Chilli & Garlic Mushrooms, It was full of onions, no Garlic at all and just tasted sweet. Could not be more disappointed.

My wife and I first ate out at this location many years ago. It was a different restaurant then! But since it became Gurkha Spice it has, if anything, improved. We liked it before. We like it even more now. The food is delicious. The service is courteous and attentive. And it doesn’t cost the earth. What’s not to like? It’s usually pretty busy. At least when we’ve been. But not excessively so. It’s in the Goldilocks zone, ie, just right.

80 percent of the food was binned. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Will not order from this restaurant again

Absolutely amazing like everytime we order, we have no complaints. Once something was missing and they immediately sent missing item out. Always polite and friendly staff and we wouldn't eat anywhere else.

The food was delicious and made up for the fact it was 15 mins late. We also ordered 2x popadoms but they were missing from the order.

We rang to book on Saturday evening and were sitting at our table half an hour later. Mo was extremely helpful with our dietary restrictions and he runs a great team and lovely restaurant. The food was excellent, we both tried Nepalese dishes for the first time and, with Mo's help, we both chose things we enjoyed very much. He was so enthusiastic about the food and his enthusiasm was entirely justified. We will definitely go back as soon as possible, just a pity we didn't have room to have a second meal straight away. The price was very reasonable and we felt the team had earned a fairly generous tip.

I’ve had microwave meals with more chicken and the rice was as bland as anything overall the worst Indian I’ve had ever.

Ordered as a treat as very expensive now, chilli chicken starter £4.75 came with 5 tiny bits of chicken very disappointing. The mixed grill was ok in parts but chicken again non existent. Won’t be rushing back as just ok

Excellent restaurant with good selection and friendly staff. Food very tasty. Would eat there again. Menu also included a comprehensive children’s menu of their cuisine.

Although we did have to wait a long time for our order the food was fantastic and still hot. Will definitely order again, thank you! :)

Really excellent meal. Food perfectly cooked. All four of us eating there agreed it was excellent.

Great food, great service and good value for money. We were lucky enough to get a table without a booking but 3 sets of people were turned away while we were there as the place was fully booked, on a Thursday!. So be sure to make a reservation. Would definitely recommend the Goat Curry and the Kathmandu Chicken.

Wow , what a find .... This place was recommended by a local barman. He said the food was great , service was good, staff are friendly and the prices fair .... He was not wrong .. we had a fabulous meal with great service from friendly staff at a fair price.... Chicken Nepal - I could eat it every week !!!

The worst tikka masala I’ve ever had. No flavour to the curry. More like soup than a curry. Bombay potatoes overly salty

The Madras curry didn't have much taste to it, If it was a blind tasting I could have told what it was. The Sheek kebabs were OK but again could have had more taste. Chilli Garlic Mushrooms seemed more Chinese style inspired than Indian, This was not clear on the menu. Wife was happy with her Squid and Lamb Courgette. So one OK and one disappointed.

Tasty food but it was only just luke warm when it arrived.

Good service. Turned up with no booking but was asked to come back in 30mins. Food was nice and hot. Only criticism was 2 piece's of potatoes in Sag Aloo. Everything else was fine.

Food was an hour late. Called 3 times about this and each time was told on its way and would be 5 minutes, it was 45 minutes. Food was excellent, but they need to be more honest about delivery times so periods can make informed choices. No discount offered.

Food cold, I used to use Gurkha Spice quite regularly until I received a meal which was late and cold and vowed not to use them again, unfortunately I did and have again received a Luke warm meal and have extremely been disappointed. So I will definitely not be using them again, and will not recommend them.

Still waiting from over an hour late. Just east shows it being delivered which it hasn’t. Phoned restaurant twice both times told it was on way and to ring back in 20 minutes. Got hungry young children waiting, not impressed!

Great Service. Amazing Quality food

The food was delicious but unfortunately it was an hour and a half late and the popadoms were missing from the order.

I received a phone call on the evening of Sunday 18th telling me the delivery driver was off & unavailable to deliver my meal. They said they would refund me. I have just telephoned them as I have not had my refund. They said I need to contact you. This was not mentioned on Sunday .

Rogan Josh was more like a thick soup with a few small lumps of lamb . Dreadful Have ordered from Gurkha Spice before and been satisfied but this was poor quality , poor value for money and I won’t be ordering again I would advise any one reading this review to think twice before ordering!

Unfortunately due to the delivery arriving at 9pm (2 hours from order confirmation email. 1 hour after the eta!) food was tepid. The flavour of the curry was absolutely amazing but to be honest the other dishes were average flavour.

Over an hour late after receiving the ‘it’s on its way text’. The restaurant kept saying it would be 5 minutes every time I rang and promised me would be there in a minute when I wanted to cancel, but it was still a further 10 minutes away. Food was cold but the microwave sorted that out. The taste was good and the lamb chops were lovely hence the 4 stars for food quality,

Food was late, and only lukewarm again. Restaurant staff not very helpful, just told me it was on its way. Have had a previous issue with delivery from this restaurant where the food when it was finally delivered was cold. Thought I would give them another try , wish I hadn’t. Will nor use again or recommend them to others.

Food arrived hot and was tasty, for the most part, however the Bombay Aloo was not as it should have been, which was a shame, it’s delicious when cooked properly.

Lemon rice was amazing. Chicken dish was also absolutely gorgeous. Crispy Squid wasn't crispy & a bit chewy, but my bad. I had it delivered & due to the quality of the rest of the meal, I'm sure had I eaten in, the Squid would've been perfect. Great, tasty meal. Not greasy & would definitely recommend.

Was missing chutney set, disappointed with the vegetable curry for the biryani, it was very runny, not much of it and not much vegetable in it. Have had much better meals from this restaurant in the past. Also we had to wait over an hour for delivery and over the time stated.

I was served papadun with source; I was happy to pay for £1 for papadum. But, I was charged £1.65 for the sauce which I believe to round the price to £30.

Expensive for the quantity and ok quality, not bad food just okay food and not a lot of it for the price

Ordered it as it said 35 min delivery. When order went through, it said 45-65 min delivery and actually arrived 90 mins after ordering.

My favourite curry, although a bit pricy it's the best.

It was very good food but I didn’t appreciate having the delivery driver call me 10 minutes before my delivery time saying that he’d been waiting outside my house for 10 minutes when he hadn’t been as my partner arrived at mine 2 minutes before he called and there was no one there. I don’t quite understand why he couldn’t have knocked on the door or rang the doorbell rather than just expect me to know he’s there, especially when he’s 10 minutes early.
