It was pretty empty on a Friday night which is never a good sign. Seated which was great, room is pretty nice tbh. Then a wait ….. had to call someone to get drinks. When the waiter asked if Pinot Grigio is the white one I should have known Drinks and poppadoms done and then the wait, asked the waiter who was polite and the walked off. To long then the manager came to take order. Food was ok just a bit bland, definition of average. In essence if hungry it serves a purpose, but can do so much better.

Gave 2 stars overall not because the food is not nice... it was as was the service, but the price, is the issue as the portions were absolutely miniscule...Bombay Aloo came on a small saucer, and the main consisted of 4 tiny pieces of lamb (all sauce !) in a tiny dish ! I understand now that when you ask for a couple of poppadoms between 2 people they give you four just to fill you..oh and by the way they charged us for four too !

Food was OK but the service was absolutely terrible. We had to wait 1 hour 30 mins from ordering to receiving any food. When the food did arrive there was dishes missing. Had to ask multiple times just to get a drink and they still took 20 minutes to bring it to the table. I really hate leaving bad reviews but indian restaurants are normally warm, inviting and friendly places to dine but this was the opposite. Rude staff with no personality and bad communication. How hard is it to come to the table and say ‘We apologise it is taking longer than normal but we have had alot of takeaway orders come in, it wont be much longer for your food, can i get you any more drinks whilst you wait.’ Seriously, do better guys, very disappointed. Not child friendly, no disabled toilets or baby changing facilities.

Great food and menu inspired me to get out of my normal starter and either Madras or Dansak maon course rut and so I tried something different from their speciality menu tonight. It wasn't as hot as a my normal Madras but the intensity was more in the flavour than the heat. I'm not into Onion Bhajis myself, too many greasy ones in the past, but I had a taste of my Wife's and it was really really good. Portions sizes were perfect as was the service. A great choice of many cuisines in Newbury and glad to say Indigo Bay is one of the best when it comes to Indian style food with value. The Decor is simple and not over chintzy, some may find it too plain but who cares when the food and service are great. Enjoy!

Absolutely appalling, I ordered a chicken korma and a chicken omelette. The chicken omelette did not have chicken in it but underneath it was white uncooked chips. The korma sauce was like water. This place used to be so good but I won’t be eating from there again.

The menu offers a good choice and we were not disappointed with our food. We felt the service was a bit offhand - the young waiter who 'greeted' us seemed pretty disinterested, although one who served the table was more pleasant. The portion size was good and the food well presented and tasty and we enjoyed our meal.
