Baranda Restaurant in Wokingham

Ordered the set menu and Poppodums were forgotten but the restaurant quickly rectified and sent them quickly. However chicken in the tikka masala was very hard. Again, called the restaurant and they sent another portion out but they were the same, hard overcooked chicken. Unfortunately probably wouldn’t order again based on the chicken. Answered the phone quickly however.

Very disappointing - Sunday evening buffet Chewy chicken and the Nan bread was so dry and overcooked it resembled a pitta bread.

Starter was very tasty. Cracking flavours. Nice helping of popadoms as well. But it quickly went downhill on opening the mains and sides. Every single tin was half full. Chicken tikka masala had 6 small chunks of chicken in. Over £60 spent on half full tins and bread half the size of what we’ve had elsewhere. Food was tasty but portion size mean we won’t be going back.

The mild curry that I ordered was too spicy for me to eat. Think someone got carried away with the chillies. Shame because everything else was ok.

Was disappointed with the food 1st time I ordered the food was very nice tasty, but this time no flavour cold not like a tikka masala bombay potato not cooked enough very disappointed

Arrived that quick can only be left overs reheated, the chicken korma had the consistency of water and a taste to match The nan bread burnt black Appalling food Totally ripped me off NOT HAPPY This is not the first time i have used them BUT certainly the last They think the customers are idiots !!

Took the staff nearly 2 hours to serve the main courses. By the time the final dish arrived the first 2 so cold and had to be sent back.

From the moment we walked in to the minute we left the service was fantastic. We were greeted by friendly staff and did not have to wait long between courses. The food was delicious - very fresh and hot. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again soon.

Probably the worst buffet I have ever had. I tried to swallow a piece of chicken. However it was so dry I couldn't swallow it and thought I was going to be sick. Will not be going back there. £20 for a piece of dried chicken.

Second time ordering from Branda I thought I would have the same dish chicken vindaloo,this time it was very poor the chicken was dry and the onions in the sauce were not cooked.First I had it was amazing this time yuk I like consistency and if you haven't that then I wont order again.

Great food, full of flavour and authentic!

Really poor, this isn’t one of our favourites but we like to try different ones from time to time. That was a mistake. Ordered online and 1hr 30 goes past so I call, they say “the machine didn’t beep” and acknowledge their mistake, I say we can go ahead but there will need to be a discount for lateness, no offer of any kind and they just say cancel it through Deliveroo. Absolutely shocking, do not recommend.

Tasty food, hot and well packed. Also received complimentary salad and nan with mixed grill. Nice. Will order from here again.

Chicken Jhalfrizee was very poor!!!! Mushroom rice had about 3 small mushrooms wit boiled rice?? Samosa was burnt with no fillings.

Food delivered at the start of the quoted delivery slot, piping hot. We both had a chicken dish, with plenty of very large perfectly cooked chicken.

I chose the Baranda because their service is swift and my usual place is not. The food was pretty tasty and the portion size generous. Think they’ll be my go-to quick order in the future.

Food quality wasn’t what I expected my Keema Nan wasn’t what it was meant to be food was cold on delivery not impressed at all

Fancied something different as my partner was away. Called me as I made a mistake on my order. Really helpful. Driver polite and friendly. Food arrived piping hot. So much flavour. Really enjoyed, so ordered again tonight.

Have to be honest we didn’t eat here but had to share our experience of bad customer service! We recently booked a table for dinner on a tribute night, despite having a booking confirmation, a booking reminder on the day when we arrived we were told there was no table for us. We had a half an hour drive to get to the restaurant so were not very happy to be turned away. The manager was insistent that they had tried to call me to get a £10 deposit per person but despite telling him this was untrue as I have had no missed calls or messages left he was really rude and unhelpful. He kept saying that the emails are automated and nothing can be done. I find this really poor customer service as I had emails agreeing to the table and there was no way of paying deposit online so we were totally in the dark. I finished work early to make this tribute night and was really looking forward to it so left very disappointed. We certainly will not be returning and urge anyone else who has booked a table for one of these nights to ensure you confirm the table is definitely there for you before leaving home.

Food was cold and squashed. Papadoms were broken into small pieces. Very little flavour in the rest of the meal.

Not many Indian restaurants are open for lunch mid-day during the week but we found this one was. The food was excellent and I very much enjoyed their King Prawn Goa . (A very mild dish with large prawns) With two beers ., rice and aloo chat the bill came to £63 excluding gratuity. The only downside was that the restaurant looked as if it didn't expect lunch time customers and it was freezing cold and laced other diners.

The Best Indian takeaway I’ve had in a long time.

Food was very flavourful- delicious all round!

Ordered a Chicken Tikka Malsa and it was water like consistency. It's supposed to have a nice thick and creamy Red sauce but was very runny and pink.

Enjoyed the meal, fresh and warm when delivered, just a bit late this time but won’t stop us using them again.

Last time Nann was missing, this time one of the 2 rice I ordered was missing. Have to wait for it to come and then the rest of the food is cold

We often go here for a Sunday lunch curry, It is a very pleasant place, not so busy on a Sunday. They offer a self service meal with a choice of curry, from Korma to the spiciest, I don't know the name because I never have it! The Korma is always delicious.

Food was slightly later than expected guess restaurant must of been busy, but well worth the wait as was great tasting as always.

Met with friends who have not seen each other for 3 years. Wokingham was a great choice of market town. I selected this restaurant because of its TripAdvisor rating. A nice restaurant with a wide choice on the menu. Good quality food. Overall good choice, good food and well spaced out between tables.

We ordered Korma, tikka and Madras with various sides and appetizers. The food arrived within the 45-55 minute delivery time. It was hot, well packaged and tasted great! The flavours and consistency were perfect. 10/10 - curry night will definitely be replacing pizza night!!

Fantastic take out as usual. The restaurant is lovely as well if you want to dine in.

Delivery was 1.5 hours and food was overpriced. Food was cold, food was poor, bag and containers damaged.

This was the first time ordering from Baranda and may unfortunately be the last. The curry I ordered was very different to how I expected it to be, with it being very watered down. The pilau rice was also very overcooked. I ordered onion bhajis and samosas, and they came in brown bags that were soaked in oil. The naan was really nice though! It was definitely edible, but there are other restaurants in the area I'd rather go to from now on.

In my opinion the best Indian restaurant not only in Wokingham but for miles around. Faruk, Ripon and their team look after you very well. A friendly restaurant, with a very good selection of dishes. Always delicious. My family and I eat here often, we also order take-away food and have never been disappointed. Thank you Baranda.

Once again an enjoyable visit to my favourite restaurant. There were nine of us and the atmosphere was good with friendly service and enjoyable food. Thank you to all the staff for a good evening, Regards from Peter, family and friends.

Everything was great other than the fact we didn’t receive one item from our order.

This was sadly a really unpleasant meal, it was delivered on time but the food was cold and almost inedible. Such a shame as we were really looking forward to it

All 3 mains were bland and my lamb curry tasted like beef. We've tried Baranda 3 times now. The first time was great but the next 2 haven't been as good as other takeaways in Wokingham, which are also a bit cheaper. Also, it only took 30 mins from ordering to delivery at peak time on a Friday nigh so I wonder if the food is reheated, which may explain why the mains were so watery. They do the best takeway Naan though so not all bad.

Can always be relied upon for delicious food and great service. Spacious so not sitting too close to the next table. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Consistently good. Also a great take away/sdelivery service, much used during lock down.

I was very impressed with the order tonight. First time trying here, the food was early, hot and full of flavour. The delivery driver was very friendly and polite. Overall, very happy and would recommend to others.

Food was cold. Curry was congealed. Chicken was tough. Cheese nann actually had no cheese in it !

Nowhere near as good as the previous order and we were suprised it came from the same place. Sag panner and Bombay aloo were bland and the diggerent main dishes tasted the same. Positives were lots of chicken and very good Naan.

I took my two sons to this very friendly Indian restaurant in Wokingham on a wet Monday night. The service was first class ( mind you we were the only diners) and food well presented. However the food lacked taste, it was bland, not in a bad way just in an Asian cuisine way. The chef didn’t seem to to use the spices or condiments that make great Indian food great ! Something was missing ! Apart from this culinary point, I’m sure that the weekend chef would make this food tastier. I look forward to returning on a Friday night !!

Very bland and disappointing. Lamb rogan josh has virtually no spice, in other dishes the lamb and chicken were tough and dry in and nan's were undercooked. Very disappointing takeaway, we won't be back

Wouldnt order a curry from anywhere else. Perfect service, perfect food!

We've used most Wokingham Indian restaurants in the past and gave Baranda a first try. Everything was really tasty. The meat was tender. The naan breads were the best we've had from a takeaway. Baranda is our new number 1 so we'll be using them again very soon. Thanks!

The food was lovely, but delivered a bit to early.

All good except for the extremely rude delivery driver. Not the restaurants driver but Just Eats. Knocked the door, took me 20 secs to get to the door due to the dogs. By the time I opened the door, the driver was back in his car and was flipping me off when he realised he had to get out his car again. He said I took too long to answer and that he was extremely busy. Not impressed with his attitude. The food was 10 out of 10 as usual

Meh, ok. Nothing special. Lost it’s former glory, Baranda used to be to the go to Indian in Wokingham but now overpriced and average at best. Come on, you can do better. You’re only as good as the last meal.
