A great local restaurant that is very accommodating when it comes to seating and adjustments to their excellent menu when asked. Just remember to bring your own alcoholic drinks (they have soft drinks for sakes)

Awful takeaway Had food from here plenty of times but has gone downhill over the months and this takeaway was probably the last one I will have from here Very disappointed with the takeaway curry from here Lamb Biryani and chicken Jalfrezi onion bhaji Lamb very fatty and inedible and I have never had a biryani look or taste like this one Chicken jalfrezi was overpowered with too many spices Onion bhaji was dripping with grease and oil Absolutely a waste of money and most of it went in the bin

We had a takeaway from here last night and it was amazing. Really tasty, good size portions. We have dairy allergies in the family and the man at the restaurant helped us to choose suitable dishes.

I'm a relatively new customer to these guys as I often order a curry for myself as my better half prefers a pizza or something different, and the 15quid minimum charge policy for a delivery is perfect for me. The food always arrives on time, is always hot, and I just had the balti madras, and it was quite possibly the best curry I have ever eaten. I'm 46 years old and have eaten a lot of curries in my lifetime aswell! Thank you very much, ill be spreading the news to Friends and family!!

Had to call 15 mins after advertised delivery time to chase - told the food was yet to leave. Curry is so sweet - like a pudding. £3 for a naan… Wife’s favourite ever so looks like we’ll be back though.

As a brown person - any curry not made by my mother or possibly my aunt is unlikely to be perfect. However the curries here are not remotely authentic and are anglicised beyond belief. My butter chicken was so sweet(!) - almost like custard. For foodies or anyone brown - this place is to be avoided sadly.

Food was delivered at the requested time but it was completely cold and not enjoyable to eat.

Food was good. Service was average. Very noisy. Wouldn’t return unless I was with a bigger group.

It has no alcohol license so have to bring your own. But great food, party of 8 and everyone commented on how good it was.

Looking forward to a night out for the first time in a while and the waiter offered me a soft drink, I then said can I have the wine menu? The reply was you can bring your own drink if you want, "How are you supposed to keep a few cans of beer cold while you are eating your food?". For some people this would be ok, but for me I decided to leave and wont be going back.

I had a Karachi it was way hotter than normal, and the two chicken tikkas over spicy , from are experience over the years they should be mild not hot, I will think twice next time wather to order again .Maxine .

Lovely front of house, and very accommodating but our food was heavily over-salted to the point that we couldn't really eat it. Update. Food was very good this time! Another update: the curries were really disappointing. Lamb was so overcooked, we could barely cut through it. Sorry, that was a bad meal.

Really enjoyable meal. Went in on a whim last minute and we were greeted and accommodated. Food was easily some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Visited with my wife on 13/05/2023 I've been here many times and usually love the food. Unfortunately this time I was very disappointed, the Karahi Lamb I had was tasteless and bitter. The garlic naan and beer were the best part of the meal. Was the first time I haven't finished a curry. Sorry to have to post a negative review.

Popped in for a quick meal, the food and especially the service was outstanding.

We had a lovely meal, food was amazing but we feel the front of house let them down, feel like we got told off for bringing a soft drink, we were told “ he would let us off this time”! We were a party of 8 and one person bought a soft drink so in our opinion it was unacceptable. Like I said we can’t fault the food just a shame about the young guy on front of house.

Has the best Indian food in years. We all ordered very different dishes and all were superb. The service was excellent too, really friendly. I wish I lived nearer to the restaurant as I would love to go again.

Fabulous food served by fabulous staff

I booked a table for 4 of us for 27th December. We arrived to find the restaurant empty but well attended by waiters. Some background on myself & other family members. We all are regular BIR (British Indian Restaurant) visitors & believe we are experienced judges as to what’s good or bad. I can honestly say the meal we had on the 27th was the best Indian (or more accurately Bangladeshi) meal I’ve ever had the privilege of enjoying. At the age of 70, surely this is a strong statement! Every dish we had was cooked to perfection: Chicken Tikka, Chicken Dopiaza, Tarka Dhal, Veg Curry, Aloo Gobi, Bombay Aloo, Sag Paneer, Mushroom Bhargi, Special Fried Rice, Garlic Naan. The waiters were very attentive. Brought our own bottle of wine which they placed into an ice bucket for us with a large glass full of extra ice, without asking. Thank you guys for making our family get together such a great experience. You deserve the full 5*s!

One of a very few restaurants open for a Monday lunchtime curry. Superb food, loads of meat & not just sauce. Staff were sooo attentive & professional. We brought our own beers, so they provided opener, glasses & took empties away. We shall return ASAP

Went last night friendly staff ,overall food lovely rice a little clumpy and plain microwaved? And massala taste a little like bolognaise otherwise naan lovely and lamb passanda over all really enjoyed nice enviroment until main criticism is football was on staff gathered front of hse round a phone watching with volume on which sort of took away going to a restaurant could of gone to pub or stayed home for football sounds rather then pay for nice meal out Will go back just maybe not when sports on 😊

Simply bad food. Ingredients out of cans, not cooked to perfection. Popadoms cooked with smelly oil. We were charged for pickle tray even though we did not ask for it and barely used it. Stuffed parantha was horrible.

Fantastic meal. Brilliant selection. Chicken madras was a huge portion and of a really good quality. Bring your own alcohol was a great perk here. Lovely staff and very Nice interior too. One of the best curries in Reading.

Fabulous meal but the non alcoholic drinks are quite expensive. Take your own alcohol.

We had an excellent dinner here. The service was attentive, the menu had variety and the food was delicious. It is worth knowing in advance that there is no alcohol license but you can take your own and they provide glasses and bottle openers etc. Looking forward to going again soon.

We had a lovely meal here a year ago, and when we went back yesterday it was just as good. Generous portions, very reasonable prices. Lamb pasanda was delicious. Bright, attractive decor, friendly efficient staff, spotlessly clean cloakrooms. Highly recommended. Just remember - they don't have a licence, so you must bring your own alcoholic drink. I'm not a lager connoisseur, and tried the zero-alcohol Stella Artois. Eminently drinkable, and half the price of the "real" thing. We'll be back !

The meal was beautifully cooked. Service was attentive but not intrusive. An interesting menu with some unusual dishes. The lamb dishes were the best we've ever eaten in a moderately priced restaurant. Bring your own alcoholic drinks.

Wow! Came for lunch with friends, was absolutely beautiful, when others say there are generous portions they aren't kidding! The bhajis are light and crisp, the chicken tikka starter is on another level of flavour. We also had the chicken murgh makhani, buttery, flavoursome sauce and easily enough between two people. Keema naan can be a bit hit and miss in other establishments, not here, it was stuffed with lamb and flavour. All together, £20 a head and we are all pleasantly stuffed. You've definitely found 6 new customers here. Very attentive staff and clean and modern. Couldn't do enough for us all. Can't wait to visit again.

Just had the worst food delivery customer experience of my life with the owner 'Minaz'. I've been a customer since 1997 and this was my favourite Indian restaurant. I will never order from here again, Minaz's attitude is horrible especially given the attitude was his mistake personally.

With out a doubt the best Indian restaurant for miles. We’ve been coming here since it opened. The food and the staff are both second to none! You need to take your own alcohol but for people on a budget this makes more affordable.

Excellent meal. Unfortunately this looks like another local restaurant that has been unable to afford the high price of an alcohol licence, so you have to bring your own.

What a curry, I’ve been eating dhansak since young thanks to my mum and dad and the last few dhansaks from red rose are 10/10 absolutely banging. Thanks Red rose and you’re chef is top draw.

Red Rose chicken is super RED in colour and poor in taste. Naan and Roti Bread is as thick as your cushion and rubber in taste..half baked Very Poor quality of takeaway food fated 21 May,2021 evening. Never ever again going to order any food from here!

Have been going here for years. We're well known, loyal customers. We've made a point of supporting this business throughout the coronavirus crisis. Tonight we ordered a take away. With poppadoms...these came with no accompanying dips. We rang a couple of minutes before they closed to be told that the chef had gone home so we couldn't collect, I'm assuming pre made dips need a qualified chef to pop into a container. Won't be going back.

Just finished eating my lamb dansak and peshwari nan... it's the yummiest I've had. Food is always delicious and delivered on time. If you're around the area, just go for it. I haven't had a bad experience. Plus the staff are very friendly!

Food was very tasty and fresh. Nice ambiance and good customer service. I also ordered for delivery a week after eating in the restaurant, and even though I ordered close to their closing time, they still went out of their way to deliver our food. Again, food was very nice and still hot when it was delivered. If you are looking a nice restaurant in Woodley, I would recommend Red rose. A+++++

We managed to get a booking in on the last day before the second lockdown and had a really lovely evening. The staff are helpful and friendly. The food is delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice.

Ordered Take Away from Red Rose and picked it up. The flavour was incredible! Such a Good Curry!

Ordered online at 6.55pm for three meals, website indicated a delivery estimated time of 7.36pm. Whilst I am sensible enough to know that on a Saturday night this was only an estimate, I did however expect the food before 9.05 pm. Then when arrived only one of the three Pilau Rice was included. Having told Red Rose the extra two arrived at 9.36 pm. No apology, no suggestion that the bill would be reduced, no nothing. That is the last time I will be using Red Rose

El anfitrión recibió una llamada telefónica cuando regresó para decir que no habían puesto todo el arroz. Regresó y le dieron arroz extra. Comí entrantes - salsas con 2 pappadoms cada una - ponga más pappadoms de lo solicitado. Llegó a los platos principales, el mío no estaba allí. Sonó el restaurante que accedió a enviarlo. Finalmente llegó 40 minutos después cuando todos los demás habían terminado. (Estábamos a 5 minutos). Pan naan ahora frío como mi arroz.Parecía muy desorganizado. La comida estaba bien, pero mejor.

Usually good food, but today waited for 1hr 45min for over £50 of cold food!! Website quoted 45 mins. Was advised after an hour it would be another 10-15 mins. Was told website was wrong and many other people had also complained. Not my problem. Will not use again, as not told the truth. Driver said restaurant was busy. And...........?

I don't normally review the restaurant unless I really enjoy it. For Indian, Red Rose is the best in Reading and probably in Berkshire too since I have tried pretty much every place in the whole Berkshire. Either eat in or take away, always deliver the quality food. Some restaurants are not good with take away but this one makes no difference. However there is a language barrier and you do need to make it clear if you are ordering on the phone. Best to order it online. The most important thing is food is delicious. Restaurant setting and atmosphere is also great, welcome, attentive staff and good size portion at reasonable price. I have been there so many times and never been let down. I would happily recommend this place.

Hice un pedido por teléfono ya que el sitio web no me dejaba hacerlo. Me dijeron que el pedido estaría listo en 40 minutos. Apareció para recoger a la hora indicada y le dijeron que serían unos minutos. 20 minutos más tarde cuando le pregunté cuánto tiempo más se aconsejaba unos minutos. Dos minutos más tarde se volvió a preguntar mi nombre. Parece suceder todo el tiempo. Un tiempo de espera total de 45 minutos. La comida era normal en el mejor de los casos.

Been here so many times but sadly it’s takeaways only at the moment, which as still as good but without the great atmosphere and friendly staff. Ashrad looks after us like kings!!! Can’t wait to get back. Korma and vindaloooo are just the best!!

Excellent food, and always served with a smile! Would recommend it as the best curry restaurant in Reading. Love going for a couples date night, with friends or if we take our son (they open at 6pm) they are very accommodating and enjoy seeing him.

Poor. Ordered online in which it stated the delivery time was 45 mins. It actually took an hour and 45mins. Some items were missing, The food was cold but was so hungry after waited so long for it to arrive. Subsequently we are both now ill with food poisoning.

Food was nice. Service not good enough. I do appreciate we were a large party however. One waiter stank of cigarette smoke which was really unpleasant when he was leaning over you to put your food on the table... Sorry.

1. We booked table through online - Restaurant confirmed booking to my mobile and later they called me and said it was system error & they don't have any tables for that day. 2. We accepted it and ordered all Veg menu on 12th Oct and informed we will come & collect. 3. When we received the order and came back home, my son tried one Samosa & said there is no vegetable in this Samosa. They have given Keema Samosa instead of Veg. We were extremely disappointed with delivery - I never thought they will just send an order without even checking it appropriately. I will personally never go to this place again and neither will recommend my friends. I will advise Veg. or Vegans to avoid this restaurant.

Returned after a few months to see if it had improved but unfortunately was still not impressed. Food quite bland. Hot towels given to wipe your hands smelt disgusting. Toilets not clean. There are a lot of better Indian restaurants in the area.
