Excellent quality one of the few gems left in Reading

Great variety of food and flavours excellent service.

This was my first visit to the Waterfall which had been highly recommeded by several friends and it didn't disappoint in any way. The food was delicious, generous portions, excellent, friendly and efficient service throughout and great value. I will return.

disappointed is an understatement. I made an order online and instead of letting me know that they can’t deliver it straight away. I waited over 30 minutes for no reason only to get a text message saying they can’t deliver due to unforeseen circumstances

Nice to have a local Indian restaurant.. they don't have a booze license so bring your own .. the waiter was a bit miserable maybe just having a bad day .. food is good and well worth a try

Got a takeaway from here for a family birthday- ordering online was convenient, didn't take too long to deliver and the food was very nice! Great selection of vegetarian options.

Fab full English cooked breakfast! Freshly grilled bacon, sausage & tomato, lovely not greasy at all. Was very impressed. Service was great, lovely and very friendly staff.

Came in with my family, had some lovely pancakes with bacon and syrup. Peaceful music, friendly and nice staff. Was raining when we came in and found that I forgot about the rain as we sat with a nice tea and chatted.

Update what a difference a month makes went back after a great experiance it went from 3/5 stars to 1/2 to be honest i should of left as soon as i sat down but having had a pleasent experience previously gave them the benifit of the doubt table cloth dirty and stained order king prawn starter notice cut in half so me and my son had a bite tasted funny so opened it to find raw prawn very dissapointed then staff said would take of my 80 pound bill like doing me a favour then at the end that the cheif new but didnt cook it more and should of rest of food was ok didnt want to leave as son very excited still think they charged me for it the buffett price is a con with all the extras such ashame thought it was going to be our new regular be warned as obviously didnt check food temp befor

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This restaurant is now my clear running favourite within Reading. The portions are generous, the food is very fresh. Flavours are the best. I fully recommend this as an Indian restaurant to deliver around and within the Reading area. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a really beautiful Dahl Soup and their own fried bread for lunch. Was truly delicious. Lovely staff and a very calm, peaceful environment. Would eat here again

This restaurant remains as good as ever if not better! Fourteen of us dined there on a Friday night for a birthday celebration and all food was excellent, tasty, piping hot and brought out in really good time. Several first timers commented that it beat their previous favourites. Thank you for a great evening Waterfall crew.

So we decided to give the waterfall a try and the staff were super friendly and the food was not disappointing the buffet was a good value and food was really good quality and tasteful

Good atmosphere. Food was ok. Staff member was very unstable explaining about the buffet items we can order, finally charged extra for the starters which is unfair. He was speaking fluently in English when he gave the receipt, but not while explaining about the buffet menu. Not sure if it is there business strategy, if so, it is worst though

The best Indian Bangladeshi food

Went there with a large bunch of friends (15+) for a boys evening dinner. While the place felt congested, the staff more than made up for it with excellent service. The vegetarian options were dismal though. However, the bring your own booze did help keep the costs down (there's a Tesco right next doors). Overall a slightly positive experience.

We’ve lived close to the Waterfall for 25 years and recently we’ve notice how good the food is here. Each dish tastes different to the other and is extremely well cooked. The service is very good too. This should be a destination restaurant.

First time had a dinner there with friends. Place was empty with us only there. I am vegetarian and can only say about vegetarian food. Panner and mushroom starters were good. In main course , again a paneer and dal tarka was ordered which was ok. Overall experience was good.

Absolutely disgusting service ordered first via Uber eats and received someone else’s order they were helpful at first and said they would send my original order again which when arrived they sent one of the correct curries and the other one was wrong and then to top it off my glaring naan had grated garlic on the top and that was vile! And the man who was apparently the manager was very rude and unprofessional and said there was nothing he could do and that it was my fault. Many times I have ordered from here as my first go to I will not be ordering from here again after tonight. So unprofessional and take your money without a care in the world!! Avoid!!

After having issues with takeaway we tried in the restaurant and had a lovely meal. Good service. Great food. Seems to be the problems are with takeaways!!

There was six of us. Had the most tasty meal. Served with a hot dinner plate. Well presented and hot. We had chicken shashlik and lamb tikka. Chicken tikka masala and lamb madras and vegetable biryani and lastly shaahi chicken. With some side dishes and rice. Would highly recommend. You can take your own alcohol in saving you lots of money. Good food and saving all round. Great staff

Always been my go to Indian but this meal was the blandest Indian meal I have ever had. Korma so so bland with no taste at all and rice just tasted like normal boiled rice. Such a shame and so disappointed

After having yet another beautiful meal from the Waterfall restaurant I felt it was time to share my experiences. Easter Sunday I ordered a meal for 7 people, 6 different main courses and numerous sides and as always the quality was outstanding. Very generous quantity’s of chicken with each meal, full of flavour and thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. Thanks very much for a delicious meal again.

Had a delivery tonight was not very good .. onion bahgi was burnt.naan bread under cooked and the two sauces were runny IE mango chutney and mint sauce very disappointing

100 to 0! The waterfalls use to be an excellent local Indian, always kind, now their service is appalling with the new ownership! We ordered a takeaway from them for delivery which took over an hour to receive. When we received it it was the completely wrong order and when we called to inform them the order was wrong they said it was Uber Eats fault and yelled “BYE BYE” down the phone (very rude!). The food is tasty but the staff have gone down hill! I miss the old Waterfalls which was loved by all - the new owners need open google and start looking at their reviews!

We went for a night as not been for a long time I’m so glad we did. The food was excellent really good service and you can take your own alcohol. We will definitely be going back.

Took family to Waterfall as a treat. Was first time we had been there since lock downs. We had always had a good dinner there and had good expectations. I love a nice Cobra or Kingfisher beer with my curry and was told as soon as we sat down that They didn't serve alcohol now due to Covid... Um. Yeah come again? This is 2022... I did wonder why the restaurant was not busy at all. I guess they dropped alcohol license and focus on takeaway gigs these days. I almost had family walk out but we decided to stick in. A round of soft drinks and a grumpy dad. Food came was lovely. Succulent prawns, lamb and chicken. Sauces were not greasy so the chef knows how to cook. All dishes had different flavours which is also a great sign. Side dishes were also nice. 3* awarded due to lack of beer option, lacking ambience and the dishes were all on the pricey side. You won't get much change out of a tonne for a family of 4 or 5 dining in. To conclude, the food was good (4*) and I would certainly order takeaway from there. But dining in... Not convinced. Other options nearby would top my list based on this experience.

Visited here with my parents in their 70’s who previously visited pre lockdown. Was a bit apprehensive after some of the reviews. It’s bring your own booze now instead of licensed but there’s a Tesco express within a minutes walk. Food was gorgeous. I went for an option from their own speciality list, it was described as barbecued chicken with a creamy bhuna sauce. Not sure how they barbecued the chicken but it was so fragrant tasting, everyone tried it and was blown away by the flavour. My partner had a lamb knuckle dish that was gorgeously seasoned and tender, the pilau rice was fresh and not heavy and the spinach side dish was the perfect complement to all dishes. Only sad we don’t live closer, it’s walking distance for my parents but a drive across town for us. Have already recommended to colleagues who live closer. Thank you Waterfall, we really enjoyed your lovely food.

Five of us shared a lovely eat-in meal. The food was excellent. The vegetable dishes were prepared with fresh vegetables, most unusual for fast food these days, and there were heaters on the table to keep the food warm. The portions were generous and the service excellent.

Had a takeaway recently. Afterwards both my wife and I were ill. This was after a restaurant visit about 5 or 6 weeks ago where my son was ill afterwards and we gave them the benefit of the doubt for the recent takeaway visit. Unfortunately that’s us done with using them.

Lovely restaurant, food and service was spot on! We were travelling on a busy Friday night, they were full house, yet they were able to give us a table of 8 within 10minutes of waiting! The service was delivered by a lovely chap, starters and mains were delicious! It’s been a while going to a curry house and the food brought back good old curry house! Will be back again!

The food and service was amazing! The lamb curry was so tender and cooked perfectly. We also ordered the chicken tikka jalfrezi which was tasty. The drinks were a great treat. Loved the atmosphere. Social distancing was practiced and very good hygiene. Our host was very friendly and we’ll definitely be going back. Our team enjoyed this lovely restaurant!

Awful experience from start to finish. Ordered 2 main meals plus the usual extras through Uber Eats for the food to be delivered and a main meal missing and it wasn’t even ticked off the receipt showing the quality control of sending out orders without fully checking everything was present was very bad. Once checking through the order to find the main meal was missing we proceeded to call the restaurant to report the issue only to be greeted by a very unhelpful and rude member of staff which was very unclear over the phone and not helpful in the slightest. We were told it was an “Uber Eats” problem and they needed to sort it etc etc. I told them this wasn’t good enough of which they said they could have the main dish delivered back to us but it would take 30 minutes as a minimum, bearing in mind we had the other main dish and sides getting colder every minute that went past. We decided to go out of our way and go to the restaurant to pick up our missing dish which completely defeats the object of delivery which we paid for. We were met by the same unwelcoming and unfriendly member of staff who again wasn’t very helpful and argued rather than rectify the issue and made out I was in the wrong rather than them. This was very poor customer service Once we eventually sat down with all of the food it was cold and not enjoyable. The meat was extremely chewy and lacked flavour, the poppadoms were stale and the dips lime pickle were like water and overall not enjoyable in anyway. All in all a very bad experience and the food is not worth going for as the overall quality of food was very disappointing. I think one star is generous for the lack of customer service on offer.

Collected family meal .got home food was missing .rang numerous times only to be told food was on its way .over hour later we were still waiting .the rest of food was cold by the time the full order arrived .I actually ate noting sick of waiting...they were very rude on phone ..we asked to be refunded but knowone will answer us ....

Ordered food collected it got home half was missing .Rang the restaurant they said driver is on his way 1 hour later still no food .Was refereed to on the phone as you people panic .I take that as a racist comment .won't refund the food won't answer the phone and still no food .I will never ever buy from these disgusting people again .I actually can't believe what I have had to experience to get an Indian. I have no refund no food .

We ordered various meals from Waterfall and one contained a piece of wire in the Chicken Biryani, our daughter felt something sharp poke her gum and was shocked to find what looked like a bent staple. we ordered though Uber eats and they issued a full refund, we also contacted Waterfall aware via there contact form and still haven’t had a response. once the metal was found we couldn’t eat the rest of our meals. We won’t be using Waterfall again.

Treated ourselves to a take away having been customers for a number of years, having collected on time and going the 5 minute journey home having to reheat as it was lukewarm to find an over seasoned chicken dish, watery mushrooms and stale naan. Sadly won't be returning.

A local Indian restaurant that no longer serves a beer! Food is so so but as they are no longer serving alcohol to go along with it we will not be back.

We visited this place once lockdown was over and the eat out scheme was running. We were extremely nervous as it was the first time we had been out as an entire family to eat. The service did not feel personal but that was because they were very busy. The food was delish. We ordered a mixed grill for starters and lamb curry and chicken korma for mains. My husband did not enjoy the mixed grill but I found it to my taste and I'm quite picky! My kids LOVED the korma The atmosphere was a bit awkward as the staff were wearing masks which I loved but it was really hard to hear them! They have stopped serving alcohol but that wasnt an issue for us as we dont drink. Parking is ok in the evenings (we went on a tuesday so wasnt busy at all) Would I recommend? Yes Would I return? Very likely

Really delicious food, BUT this is now the second occasion that I’ve ordered online only to have the restaurant close 2 hours early. On a Friday night? Really? And the money has left my account. Not impressed.

I have been using the Waterfall for almost 20 years and was my favourite local restaurant. Over that time I have only had one meal that I wasn't happy with. During the COVID pandemic my last two takeaways have been poor. The first was a Chicken Tikka Masala and it turned up brown and burnt. The second (yesterday) was for 6 main dishes plus normal accompaniments, two of the mains were the wrong meal and my chicken balti turned out to be a vegetable balti with very little sauce. I picked it up and there was literally nobody in the restaurant, ie not busy. Absolutely terrible and I won't be using them again. Two poor meals in a row tells me either the cook has changed or the management has changed.

Excellent staff and best quality food.

Quiet, brightly lit, attentive staff, short wait for food (probably because of very few diners even that close to Christmas). Ordered lamb biryani which looked and tasted strange: not like the dry but spicy and aromatic combination of meat and plain rice; thought there was too much veg in it. Limited variety of beer.

We went here on a friday night to mark my eldest passing her driving theory test. We arrived about 7.30pm and we were shown to a large table from which two settings were removed. This gave us plenty of room. We had ordered white wine, poppadums, Tandoori mixed grill, chicken balti, Prawn Naga masala, peshwari, garlic and plain naans, pilau rice and sag aloo. The food was plentiful and well presented. We all enjoyed the meal, although my wife's dish was too spicy for her to finish. The staff were very attentive throughout the evening. Would definately recommend.

Ahh the Waterfall, where to start? The waiting staff are all incredibly polite and engaging, the resteraunt has a great atmosphere and is beautifully decorated and the food is simply delicious. My personal favourites being the monk fish in ginger sweet sour sauce with a side of lemon rice and garlic mushrooms, and for the desert, by far the best cinnamon pear I have ever tasted! And to top it all off you can take anything you can't finish home to have another time. I have never tried the takeaway but I am almost certain it is up to the same standards as the resteraunt. I will certainly be coming here again!

Been going here for 18 years nothing but love for this restaurant, big up the waterfall massive

We have visited this restaurant regularly for a lit of years and have always reccomended it, that sadly has now changed. On our second to last visit our takeaway took over an hour to come out of the kitchen, my husband asked several times where it was but the staff were rude and wouldn't check. It had actually been given to another customer, but no apology and tbh the manager didnt really care. We got the food home eventually and the mixed started for three was crammed into one box so it was just all mushed together in what looked like a brick! The children waited so long they fell asleep thankfully as their food was inedible. We visited again last week (we had never had problems before so thought it was a one off). The food was so burnt when we got it home it was inedible, the prawn started consisted of one prawn rattling about with nothing else. We did not bother complaining again as the staff didnt seem to care first time, even when my husband complained to the manager tge next day.Sadly after many years of being regular customers we will not be visiting again

Food is tasty and portion is good. However service was a bit of a let down as we were attended to by a rather oldish, bored & unfriendly waiter. The rest of the waiting staffs & the cashier were friendly.

Staff spoke broken english, very difficult to order. Staff were cold and and uptight. Food was very average. Onion bhaji and tandoori chicken was old. Tables too small and crammed in. Was pleased to leave. Would not return.

Really disappointed with the Waterfall tonight. If you want to order a takeaway I would not recommend using their online ordering system. If you call them you will get your food delivered within the time given, albeit there will always be at least one dish missing. However, they are very good at getting the missing dish/dishes delivered pretty pronto. We used the Waterfall online system tonight and received a confirmation that our food would be with us within 50 minutes. After 1 hour and 10 minutes my daughter gave them a call and they only then looked online to see our order. We were told by the manager 'well that's just what happens innit!' Customer service at its best hey?!

Sensational! Delicious food, great service and beautiful decor. Great place for eating in or take away. Some of the best Indian/Subcontinental I've had in a while and staff are lovely. I can't recommend this place enough.

food average no poppodums - rang to query - answer is if you want them buy them. arrogance that is not warranted when you look at the quality of their food, wont use them again. I urge you to do the same
