Fantastic meal on Saturday evening. Very tasty and arrived quickly .The service was excellent

Used to be really good but last 2 visits has been really bad service and we ordered a chicken dish and the meat was showing mould and they refused to give a refund

food was stone cold on arrival one of orders was madras curry that was very oily and wasn't value for money.

Nobody likes fatty meat- nobody! Such a let down to have to remove the neat frim the dish because it is so chewy and fatty. The dhansak taste was one of vinegar rather than spice- have you changed chefs,recipe, budget??

Food sauce is tasty although chicken is quite tough for the masala dish. Unfortunately they don’t answer their emails no matter how many times you follow up with them.

Great South Asian option smack in the middle of Welwyn Garden City. It is also one of the few Asian places open late during weekdays. I grabbed the UK classic, chicken tikka masala with two sides: steamed rice and garlic naan. I enjoyed the entire meal thoroughly! Service was great and the gentlemen’s running the show always checked on my table. Do note that there is a second floor dining area here, so if you pass by and see it full — rest assured that there may still be space upstairs. Just go in and ask! Recommended for Indian in Welwyn!

Unfortunately when I placed the order in error I pressed collection whereas I wanted it delivered. So phoned the restaurant when the order did not arrive and told them to deliver if they could. They said they could deliver but it would cost me £5.00 delivery fee. I thought it was a bit unfair as their delivery charge shown is £1.50! So I guess I won’t be ordering again. This was taking advantage of my helplessness. I told them I am 79 and would be difficult for me to get there.

We visited recently. Excellent hospitality and food as always. We often order delivery as well as dine in with family/friends ever since they first opened. We have never had any issues with the food or service. Neem Tree is one of our go-to favourite restaurants.

In my opinion best Indian in WGC. Update. Sorry but this restaurant has deteriorated and no way as good as it used to be. Well worth a visit but it's now not the best Indian in WGC.

Food as always was fantastic - dansak nicely spicy, caramelised butter rice is amazing (and I have never seen it elsewhere). Unfortunately the delivery was a bit slower than usual, which was made worse by JustEat telling us the food was being delivered over an hour before it arrived! Perhaps we were grumpy after a delayed flight… delicious nonetheless

delivery was almost tonthe second. Not enough meat in the keema naan. Chicken Korma was fantastic and big chunks of meat. Rezalla curry was delicious but the beef was tough and I would have likes cubed beef and not what I think was frying steak. onion Bhajis good and got loads if chutney and an extra poppadum

What nice little Indian restaurant. We only wanted a light meal so both opted for the chicken Biryani. The best restaurant style Biryani we've had for many years. The Biryani had great depth of flavour was fragrant and tasty. All the guys who served were nice and friendly, service was attentive and just right. Prices were also reasonable. We will be coming to Neem Tree again. Thanks to the guys at the Neem tree 👍👍👍👍👍

A nice little restaurant near to the station. A good range of menu options and fresh ingredients. It is quite small so may feel a little crowded if busy but on the night we went, it was half-full and felt comfortable. Worth a visit.

Last time I wrote a review for Neem Tree, it was a 5* one. Now, barely 2*. The food quality (very good) made up for the utterly atrocious customer service… Order placed online. I immediately called to ask them NOT to deliver early - as I was putting kids to bed. This was agreed by the restaurant. The food was delivered 10min early. So, by the time I came to eat it, it was lukewarm and needed a blast in the microwave. I called to complain, but the guy I spoke to wasn’t interested in maintaining my custom, or ensuring I left happy. His short term view, I assume on his profit line, meant he wouldn’t offer any sort of compensation for the lesser quality given I had to nuke it (lamb) in the microwave. An infuriating conversation which could have SO easily been something like: “Sir, please do what you need to do with the food in the microwave, enjoy it, and please call back afterwards to discuss. If you’re not happy, we can discuss how we can make sure you’re happy next time. Would that work for you?” Had he done this, I actually would have called back to say that it turned out ok after all and no compensation required. I wasn’t after a free dinner. I wanted a customer service! So I accept the quality was ok after microwaving it, but the total lack of any interest in delivering a great customer experience has now driven a poor review and a customer who will go elsewhere next time. A real shame as his lack of interest in providing decent service has got us here. Really really poor. And disappointing.

Love this place. Their takeaway/delivery is always hot, and dining in is just a lovely experience. Recently took my dad for his birthday and considering he is the worst food critic, he didn't have a single complaint. Phew 😅

I am typically not so harsh but in this case wish I had an option to rate the guys negative! Not great on food, despite clarifying served something that was highly suboptimal and and contradicted the explanation from staff. Worst of all is the rudeness of staff. In my several years of experience across the globe haven’t seen such rude behaviour. Any last words - simply avoid at any cost. There are some very good alternatives, please don’t fall for this just because it’s convenient / accessible.

Slightly different menu to most high street currie restaurants. What we had was excellent and the service was faultless.

We have enjoyed every one of their various dishes since their opening all of which have been absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the venison dish and lamb Bhuna, however my list so far is exhaustive. We have always been happy with their food and service and therefore will continue to be regular customers.

This is my favourite Indian restaurant in Welwyn Garden City. A wonderful Indian restaurant with lots of dishes to choose from. Whether you want something hot and spicy or something mild, there is something tasty for everyone here. Tonight I had the Phaal which is the hottest dish in the menu. It's so hot you'll be breathing fire afterwards. Make sure you order a bottle of water to go with it. To accompany this I had Saffron Pilau Rice, and a Garlic & Olive Oil Naan. For starters I had the Mixed Platter, and a Poppadom with chutney. The place a beautiful interior design and the staff are welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend. ^_^

Really pleased, expected a longer wait being Valentines night, but the food arrived earlier than expected.

Been here lots of times but on my own tonight so taking the time to write this. Food was well cooked, tasty and fresh. I eat a lot of Indian food and I can tell you that this food is amongst the best. I want to emphasise how fresh the food looked and tasted. Staff were pleasant enough, no big deal and sparked a conversation with me as I was on my own. Don’t understand the negative reviews however each to their own I suppose. Recommend the garlic chilli chicken, mushroom spring onion rice, chips and three cheese nan. Probably shouldn’t have eaten it all but was too nice to leave. Cheers. Craig.

We have been here several times and never had a bad meal. The service is friendly and the price reasonable. The staff don’t harass you and leave you to enjoy your meal. I will be returning and continue to enjoy this venue.

The food is nice and the service good. The place does need a bit of a facelift as it's looking quite tired. Try the Chilli Beef Tawa and the Seafood Biryani. Really good

Had a Xmas meal for 15 in here, service was perfect, food was great. Shame about the company. Lol Would recommend.

We got a takeaway between Christmas and New Year. We are both vegetarian. The onion bahjis were very dry and difficult to eat. We ordered 2 different vegetarian curries. One was a vegetable curry, the other was a paneer curry. The paneer curry was mainly chicken! We were asked to double check the meal, but we know what cooked chicken looks like. They did send a paneer curry out but very little paneer in it and no apology whatsoever. We use this curry house fairly regularly but we won't be back. It's a shame as it's local but no customer care and it was very expensive for what it was.

The food was delicious although one of the dishes was wrong and we received no poppadoms but i definitely can’t fault the food we received.

Ordered from here last night for my mums birthday and I have to say it was the worst Indian I’ve had. I have ordered from here before and it was nice. Gone down hill drastically!!!!!! My stomach has been bubbling all night all morning!! Birthday dinner was such a let down

We always make this clear on the phone when booking, and we often adjust our preferred arrival time to accommodate our needs. So given all the above, we were very surprised to arrive at the agreed time to be told they had no downstairs table, although there was a space. When I questioned why they hadn't contacted us to say they couldn't accommodate us downstairs due a large group - they just asked us to leave - we were shocked they were effectively discriminating against people with mobility issues despite taking yhe booking. Despite eating here regularly, having previously been warned about rude and unprofessional staff, we had never encountered this behaviour before this visit. Sorry but they have lost a loyal and regular customers

Bit disappointed that the sharer starter was so small. Some dishes were nearly cold and didnt get get dips with popodoms, considering amount spent. Have ordered many times previously and always been very happy.

Ordered chicken tikka biryani They gave me plain chicken biryani Not authentic, just greasy and not nice . Lacking depth of flavours . They don’t eat this at home. Give it a miss !

Been today, and I have to say, this is the best Indian restaurant I've been to in years, and I have been to quite a few. I had a lamb balti and it was perfectly flavoured; I highly recommend going just for that. Their caramelized buttered rice is also delicious. Faultless service too. Will be back.
