Wow I'm so disappointed! So I always order jalfrezi....wow so hot I just can't eat it? I did expect for the mixed kebab to be a bit of chicken? None!!!! Sagaloo looked like he was cooked with everything else but not spinach! Bread when you bite feel like chewing gum? Sorry but all of it was not edible! Simple! Won't recommend it and won't order again!! SO I ORDER AGAIN.....VERY BAD FLAT ONIONS BHAJI.....NÒ CRISPY JUST SOGGY.....SAME THE SAMOSAS! VERY BURNT NAAN BREAD! I WILL ATTACH SOME PICTURES? AND THE NEED OF THE DELIVERY DRIVER TO ARGUE WITH ME WHY HE DIDN'T BRING THE YOUGHURT? WOW! I DID REALLY CALL AND ASK FOR IT?! BAD EVERYTHING! SO AGAIN A VERY BIG NO!

Holy cow..lol..I ordered a chicken naga, mushroom rice along with other bits but I have to say, even though I had to wait longer than expected (I was a walk in not a reservation or pre book) the service was excellent and the food I got was exceptional . Cannot say anything negative, one day I look forward to having a site down meal here.

I've been here a number of times with family and we always come home utterly stuffed and well looked after. Nepal Dish is what I always order and it's delightful. Warming spices and a thick sauce. Will hopefully be returning soon. Restaurant optipns cater to my nut allergy.

Rude staff bad manners unattractive, some staff do not respect women at all to the extent of being rude. Will not be going back and do not recommend for customer service, but the food was very good

Local Indian restaurant with good menu choice and attentive service

We had a big family meal here, and we have been many times before. Food and service are always top-notch. The best part if my son won't eat curry, they made him and a few of the other kids' chicken nuggets. Very reasonable price and most dishes come with rice. Highly recommended.

The best Indian in Hertfordshire in my opinion, or maybe the world haha. I've been eating Indian since I was 2 and I'm now nearly 25. Amazing restaurant, amazing food, amazing staff.

Great place to eat and the foods really good

Terrible service, rude ignored would not recommend, won't be going back for a very long time. The only member of staff I would recommend is to gentleman who sore us out.

Firstly I'm from Leicester and I have worked at 2 of the top 5 restaurants in the late 80s. We walked in and the first thing we were told was we close at 2.30. ( man with stubble) From the start we were felt rushed. Then on asking if they do hot drinks I was told no but I'll come back to that later. He bought a straw for my granddaughter, after dropping the straw he still gave the same straw. This leads me to believe, if dry food was dropped it would still be served. I'm a reviewer and I do review good or bad. We had a different person taking our order ( older chap with less hair. He was more helpful and did not rush us. Food ranged average to below average. Prawns were very tasty. When we finish the first person bought my granddaughter chocolates. I paid at the counter to the third person. Just before I left I saw a coffee machine. I asked him if they did coffee and he replied with a yes. Originally I was scoring a 1. The person who took our order improved the score. If they don't want customers in the last hour they should close the door.

Great friendly and helpful staff. Could not get better service. Food amazing, family members have been going to the Raj for 20 years..... that should say it all!!

I have eaten in the restaurant here and had takeaway. The service is excellent and the food is literally the best quality I have ever had. It is a bit pricey but you always get what you pay for. Manager and staff are very accommodating and friendly. I would always go here for a treat!

We have always used this restaurant for special occasions throughout the years and always had takeaways. My dad decided he wanted to have a sit down meal for his 60th birthday. The food was amazing and the care and hospitality top notch. I am very grateful for the team here making my dad's birthday special!

RACIST BEHAVIOR I would have never imagined that an Indian restaurant would do racist behavior with an Indian. Been in UK, Ireland , europe etc and have always felt welcomed everywhere. This time we were refused serving and were differently treated the moment we entered here. This is criminal in today's progressing world.. Waited 2 hours for my chicken tikka and finally when it came out I cut into it and it was pink!! Honestly the worst experience. The only thing that was good was the kind helpful staff apart from the chef who was extremely rude. I was very disappointed with this experience. Please don’t go here unless you want their desserts which are surprisingly good. But other than that I would suggest going to another restaurant of this genre like the Sizzler

Ordered takeaway for a family Christmas dinner...really helpful, prompt service with a smile, plus free beer! We had chosen some favourites and some new dishes, and all the food was amazing...the meal was a highlight of our Christmas! Thanx to all at Raj Garden...warm wishes for a happy and healthy 2023!

Had a take away which was pretty decent. Just a curry and bread but will try more and does look like a nice place to eat in.

The meatballs were delicious and the tarka dhal excellent. Food had a decent level of spice, not just heat. Ingredients cooked well and dishes well differentiated. The place looks like a thousand other indian restaurants but is perfectly okay. The menu is pretty standard but has decet choices. Good value. Service was a bit over-enthusiastic - we were asked the same questions by different waiters. Overall, recommended.

The food was good as was the service up till we wanted the bill, as has to wait 20 minutes for it.

We’ve started to come back after Covid to enjoy a night out with the family (Grandad’s 88th 👴🏼) every couple of months - The food’s really good (I had the Lucasam Special Nawabi Shashlick Balti from the midweek menu 😋😋😋), service was exceptional and the staff are so attentive.

This place is so accommodating and the food is lovely. Would highly recommend.

Great choice of dishes, quality food, great service. A nice touch is the hot towels and complimentary liqueur and chocolate with the bill.

Food is always brilliant. Fresh toppings for poppadums for example, and lots of dishes I haven’t found anywhere else. Lovely, lovely staff every time. My Dad and I have been going here for years, the staff always remember us even when it’s been a year since we’ve been in. We once left a pool cue there and they held on to it for ages to return it to us, which was so nice of them. Really great service, super fast and warm people. Raj Garden sizzler (lamb) is a great dish I order every time; soft lamb, served in a way I haven’t encountered elsewhere. They serve things on a wheelie ‘hostess’ counter that is so traditional and particular to them. To top it all off, it remains very reasonably priced.

I frequently visit my mates who live in this town. This place is the best curry you can get locally BAR NONE! I know what I mean too my mum was born and brought up in India. I’ve grown up eating curry from a young age and this is authentic and VERY GOOD! Food and service excellent and unlike a lot of their competition they have not put prices up too much after coronovirus. VERY good place and nice people too.

Superb food - everything tasted about as good as it gets. The meat samosas were full of flavour. The chicken dhansak and saag aloo were up there with the very best. Atmosphere and service were great, too. I look forward to trying other dishes. Highly recommended.

Website said it was open today, but when we tried to order, there was no reply. Decided to drive there and it was closed. Really not happy as it was a celebration meal

The best Indian restaurant! It's always a delicious meal and worth travelling back to now we no longer live in Welwyn Garden City.

Staff are rude and unhelpful.. literally watched one of the chefs walk out the back spit and piss on my car management didn’t want to know.. even tho I caught the whole thing on cctv!!! I would literally starve myself then order from here... god knows what happens in the kitchen!!! Honestly i would not class this as a Indian restaurant... the staff are not interested unless your spending over £25.. even asking for a menu I was greeted with ‘ what do you want ‘ it’s disgusting!!

The only place l for a great Indian meal

This place has been excellent for years. Still is. I have yet to have a bad meal here and I doubt I ever will. In the week the service is excellent, personalised, not rushed - in short perfect! At the weekend get in early - it gets packed!! Food and service still good but it’s not possible to hit the high standards of the week. I love this place

Afriend and I had lunch here yesterday - we both had Himalayan Chicken which we have had before - it was as good as it always seems to be. I had vegetable rice and Bombay Aloo (why isn't it now called Mumbai Allo?) The vegetable rice was particularly nice and is interesting enough to be eaten on its own as a main dish. The poto dish was pretty good too.

We went as a group and we each chose something different to what we'd had before and everyone said that their dishes were the best they'd tastest anywhere! High recommended. Not sure if they were a little short-staffed on the evening we went but the service seemed a bit disorganised and rushed but the waiters were very polite, nevertheless.

Been going here for years. Always get great food and excellent service.

The best Indian in WELWYN garden CITY

Our go to restaurant for a curry close to home. The food is always excellent, especially the vegetarian options. The staff and management are always friendly and genuinely pleased to see you. We've been coming here for years enjoying dining in and takeaway service - both are excellent.

Polite and welcoming staff and cracking food

Took a 30 min walk into this little suburban area. We were warmly welcomed, had the sheesh kebab (good) and keema puri (ok). Lamb saag was good and the chicken tikka biriyani was delicious. It was slightly salty/heavy for our personal taste but very filling and full of flavour. Service was excellent, and prices were very reasonable. No issues - though I was hankering for a lassi which they don't offer :)

Great service and fabulous food. Staff are attentive but not invasive. Friendly atmosphere. Very clean throughout. The cleanest restaurant toilets I have ever been to. Good portions and freshly cooked food. Worth the wait. Recommended.

Lovely food and great service as always

I found, what was to me, a new dish - Himalayan Special Chicken. It was not particularly hot but had a wonderful depth of spice; somehow different spices seemed to come through as I ate. The dish contained a lot of red and green peppers with copious onions which I always enjoy in a curry. The helping wwas generous and thoroughly enjoyable with rice. Definitely a dish to savour again... and again! Service was friendly and the otherwise deserted restaurant had a nice feel.

The best curry house in hertfordshire

First time at this restaurant and really liked it. Service was attentive without being pushy, and the food was excellent. Portions are large so next time we’ll know to share dishes. My brother had a dansak and devoured it all, I had a creamy, chicken dish which was delicious. I always have a saag aloo and that was good too, although more spinach in it would have been nice. The peshwari naan was something else. Really can’t fault it at all, and not because the young waiter gave me extra chocolates when we were settling the bill. Thank you for a nice night.

Me and my boyfriend visited this restaurant and the food and service was excellent. I ordered lamb korma/pillau rice and my boyfriend ordered raj dinner special with pilau rice. The pricing was very reasonable. I would highly recommend it and would visit many more times again.

We have used this restaurant many times a year over the past nearly 30 years. the food has always been excellent and we have never had anything to complain about. Tonight I needed to look up the telephone No and was very surprised to see a couple of adverse reviews. It turns out that in both cases the parties have turned up without booking and are complaining about the table they have been allocated and in one case the speed of service. We have never had these problems even when they have been busy, but I would say you are lucky to get a table if you turn up without booking. Don't knock it when they have been good enough to try and accommodate you.

Always use Raj Garden as our standard of excellence. Where ever we go we always compare with this Indians excellent food and service. We travel widely in Uk and Spain. Never beaten, few on par. We have eaten regularly here since it opened as we then lived nearby. We shall continue to use until we cannot. Mr Robb as we know him, is a very experience restauranteer. Great front man with well train staff. Excellent chefs. Very clean restaurant
