Me and 3x mates tried a new curry house for a change and what a gem we came across!!!! The food was outstanding the service was bang on fast friendly staff who seemed to care about our experience oh and a cheeky little drink on the house to finish would definitely recommend to anyone and this won’t be the last time we visit I’m sure good work all deffo 5 stars for me

Ordered a takeaway on their web site for 19:30 collection but had to wait there until 20:25 before it was ready despite them constantly asking me to confirm my name Waiter said that 50 minutes is automatically added on to the time that you select for some reason! I ordered a Lamb Madras but when I opened the container at home it was chicken in a very tasteless watery sauce although it had Lamb Madras written on the lid To make things even worse my daughter took a bite of her keema naan and it had a piece of plastic in it Avoid this place!!!

Service was good , attentive and friendly, but the food was so bland and when we were asked if everything was ok and we stated that it lacked flavour the waiter said he would make another dish that was hotter and spice it up , which just explained to us that they were very helpful ( hence the three star by us ) but that they did not understand the difference between hot and flavoursome.

Words are not enough to describe just how great it is to be there! The staff is super friendly, very polite and very helpful. They always greet customers with a happy and genuine smile. It's a 5 star rating for everything from food, to service, and to the atmosphere. My husband and I always choose Raj Garden for indian food because it's just such a nice experience. Cheers 🍻

Been eating here and getting takeaway for years now, and the quality of food has never faltered.

We had a takeaway on a visit from London and it was very late! We didn't expect it to be fantastic but it was delicious.

Recently moved into the area, thought I would try out Raj Garden. Ordered collection for 8pm, I arrived at 8pm and the food was ready straight away. Although I was only there briefly to collect my food, the service I received was fantastic. The food was nice and hot, and it was delicious, great portion sizes for what I spent. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely nailed on, 100% the best sit down Indian restaurant in Welwyn GC area. Super friendly, polite, professional staff. A PROPER sit down, with 5* food.

I've been here a number of times with family and we always come home utterly stuffed and well looked after. Nepal Dish is what I always order and it's delightful. Warming spices and a thick sauce. Will hopefully be returning soon. Restaurant options cater to my nut allergy.

We have been to this restaurant several times as my brother lives nearby but we do not. The food and service have always been good and were this time although we did have to wait a while for our food as there was a large party in, but it wasn't a problem as we were chatting. However, when it came to paying the bill, a waiter who had not served us at all that evening brought the card machine and proceeded to tell me that they did not add a service charge to the bill. I then told him that I knew that as we had been previously, so he then proceeded to show me how to add a tip to the bill on the machine and how much did I want to give? What a 'B' cheek! I told him to just enter the amount of the bill, he then hesitated so I had to say it again. We always give a tip in a restaurant if the service and food are good and I had £10.00 cash in my hand to leave, but he didn't get it. Whether he was trying to intimidate me because I am a woman, I really don't know, but we would think twice about returning to the Raj Garden when we are in Welwyn again as tips are earned - NOT demanded.

We have frequently had some wonderful takeaways from here and decided to book for the restaurant. We had a lovely evening treated like royalty by staff and the food was simply excellent! I had a Special Nawabi Balti and my husband had Butter Chicken. Both very tasty indeed. The naan bread we had was also delicious and very generous in size. In fact all the portions were generous unlike some other places in Welwyn Garden and the mango chutney thick and not thin or watered down like another restaurant we have been to. Loved the place and the staff and will definitely be back!

Quality food, well presented and good value for money. Comfortable seating, tablecloths, linen napkins and carpet throughout. No blaring music. Enjoyable place to eat at leisure. The only negative was when it was clearly pointed out that a tip was not included in the bill and that a cash tip would be preferable.

Wow I'm so disappointed! So I always order jalfrezi....wow so hot I just can't eat it? I did expect for the mixed kebab to be a bit of chicken? None!!!! Sagaloo looked like he was cooked with everything else but not spinach! Bread when you bite feel like chewing gum? Sorry but all of it was not edible! Simple! Won't recommend it and won't order again!! SO I ORDER AGAIN.....VERY BAD FLAT ONIONS BHAJI.....NÒ CRISPY JUST SOGGY.....SAME THE SAMOSAS! VERY BURNT NAAN BREAD! I WILL ATTACH SOME PICTURES? Holy cow..lol..I ordered a chicken naga, mushroom rice along with other bits but I have to say, even though I had to wait longer than expected (I was a walk in not a reservation or pre book) the service was excellent and the food I got was exceptional . Cannot say anything negative, one day I look forward to having a site down meal here.

Rude staff bad manners unattractive, some staff do not respect women at all to the extent of being rude. Will not be going back and do not recommend for customer service, but the food was very good

Local Indian restaurant with good menu choice and attentive service

We had a big family meal here, and we have been many times before. Food and service are always top-notch. The best part if my son won't eat curry, they made him and a few of the other kids' chicken nuggets. Very reasonable price and most dishes come with rice. Highly recommended.

The best Indian in Hertfordshire in my opinion, or maybe the world haha. I've been eating Indian since I was 2 and I'm now nearly 25. Amazing restaurant, amazing food, amazing staff.

Terrible service, rude ignored would not recommend, won't be going back for a very long time. The only member of staff I would recommend is to gentleman who sore us out.

Firstly I'm from Leicester and I have worked at 2 of the top 5 restaurants in the late 80s. We walked in and the first thing we were told was we close at 2.30. ( man with stubble) From the start we were felt rushed. Then on asking if they do hot drinks I was told no but I'll come back to that later. He bought a straw for my granddaughter, after dropping the straw he still gave the same straw. This leads me to believe, if dry food was dropped it would still be served. I'm a reviewer and I do review good or bad. We had a different person taking our order ( older chap with less hair. He was more helpful and did not rush us. Food ranged average to below average. Prawns were very tasty. When we finish the first person bought my granddaughter chocolates. I paid at the counter to the third person. Just before I left I saw a coffee machine. I asked him if they did coffee and he replied with a yes. Originally I was scoring a 1. The person who took our order improved the score. If they don't want customers in the last hour they should close the door.

I have eaten in the restaurant here and had takeaway. The service is excellent and the food is literally the best quality I have ever had. It is a bit pricey but you always get what you pay for. Manager and staff are very accommodating and friendly. I would always go here for a treat!

We have always used this restaurant for special occasions throughout the years and always had takeaways. My dad decided he wanted to have a sit down meal for his 60th birthday. The food was amazing and the care and hospitality top notch. I am very grateful for the team here making my dad's birthday special!

RACIST BEHAVIOR I would have never imagined that an Indian restaurant would do racist behavior with an Indian. Been in UK, Ireland , europe etc and have always felt welcomed everywhere. This time we were refused serving and were differently treated the moment we entered here. This is criminal in today's progressing world.. Waited 2 hours for my chicken tikka and finally when it came out I cut into it and it was pink!! Honestly the worst experience. The only thing that was good was the kind helpful staff apart from the chef who was extremely rude. I was very disappointed with this experience. Please don’t go here unless you want their desserts which are surprisingly good. But other than that I would suggest going to another restaurant of this genre like the Sizzler

Ordered takeaway for a family Christmas dinner...really helpful, prompt service with a smile, plus free beer! We had chosen some favourites and some new dishes, and all the food was amazing...the meal was a highlight of our Christmas! Thanx to all at Raj Garden...warm wishes for a happy and healthy 2023!

The meatballs were delicious and the tarka dhal excellent. Food had a decent level of spice, not just heat. Ingredients cooked well and dishes well differentiated. The place looks like a thousand other indian restaurants but is perfectly okay. The menu is pretty standard but has decet choices. Good value. Service was a bit over-enthusiastic - we were asked the same questions by different waiters. Overall, recommended.

We’ve started to come back after Covid to enjoy a night out with the family (Grandad’s 88th 👴🏼) every couple of months - The food’s really good (I had the Lucasam Special Nawabi Shashlick Balti from the midweek menu 😋😋😋), service was exceptional and the staff are so attentive.

Great choice of dishes, quality food, great service. A nice touch is the hot towels and complimentary liqueur and chocolate with the bill.

Food is always brilliant. Fresh toppings for poppadums for example, and lots of dishes I haven’t found anywhere else. Lovely, lovely staff every time. My Dad and I have been going here for years, the staff always remember us even when it’s been a year since we’ve been in. We once left a pool cue there and they held on to it for ages to return it to us, which was so nice of them. Really great service, super fast and warm people. Raj Garden sizzler (lamb) is a great dish I order every time; soft lamb, served in a way I haven’t encountered elsewhere. They serve things on a wheelie ‘hostess’ counter that is so traditional and particular to them. To top it all off, it remains very reasonably priced.

I frequently visit my mates who live in this town. This place is the best curry you can get locally BAR NONE! I know what I mean too my mum was born and brought up in India. I’ve grown up eating curry from a young age and this is authentic and VERY GOOD! Food and service excellent and unlike a lot of their competition they have not put prices up too much after coronovirus. VERY good place and nice people too.

Superb food - everything tasted about as good as it gets. The meat samosas were full of flavour. The chicken dhansak and saag aloo were up there with the very best. Atmosphere and service were great, too. I look forward to trying other dishes. Highly recommended.

Website said it was open today, but when we tried to order, there was no reply. Decided to drive there and it was closed. Really not happy as it was a celebration meal

The Raj Garden was closed for a short time in wave 2 of Covid and I had to swap to the Don. I have to say it reaffirms just how good the food is from the Raj. I can not recommend this restaurant enough the best Indian in town

The best Indian restaurant! It's always a delicious meal and worth travelling back to now we no longer live in Welwyn Garden City.

Staff are rude and unhelpful.. literally watched one of the chefs walk out the back spit and piss on my car management didn’t want to know.. even tho I caught the whole thing on cctv!!! I would literally starve myself then order from here... god knows what happens in the kitchen!!! Honestly i would not class this as a Indian restaurant... the staff are not interested unless your spending over £25.. even asking for a menu I was greeted with ‘ what do you want ‘ it’s disgusting!!

This place has been excellent for years. Still is. I have yet to have a bad meal here and I doubt I ever will. In the week the service is excellent, personalised, not rushed - in short perfect! At the weekend get in early - it gets packed!! Food and service still good but it’s not possible to hit the high standards of the week. I love this place
