The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Indian food

Last night, my husband and I dined here and were thoroughly impressed with both the food and service. We will certainly be returning!

We celebrated our engagement here, and had fantastic food. It is BYOB so brought our favourite wine. Great vegetarian options.

So, I've been here a fair few times now, and honestly, it never disappoints. We booked a table on Saturday – it was quiet, sure, but the staff? Polite, courteous, the lot. Proper nice. I went for the chicken tikka masala, partner had the paneer pasanda – both, absolutely spot on. Delicious. Then, the owner pops over for a chat to make sure everything’s alright, and guess what? Turns out both our daughters are in the same year at school. Small world, eh? And to top it off, he gives us a complimentary drink and starts chatting about how they make their curries – which is right up my street because I love a bit of curry cooking myself. Said I could even pop by one day to see how it’s all done. Honestly, can't recommend it enough. It’s now our go-to in Huntingdon – top-notch curries, brilliant service, the works. Excellent food. Great service. Outstanding value for money. They should definitely sort out the chip and pin/ Apple Pay capabilities. I spent quite a while stood outside trying to get internet service to make a bank transfer to pay! Fantastic restaurant though. Highly recommend.

Just been ripped off by these jokers. Running 2 websites with different pricing and discounts. Avoid avoid avoid

We were visiting the NEC for the day and staying in the town over night, we walked in without a reservation around 8pm and they were packed. Luckily they were able to find us a table after a little wait. The menu is extensive and tempting, we opted for just popadoms and main courses, which was a good move considering the sizes of the main portions are crazy! They are huge. The food was hot when served and remained the same whilst we were eating. The flavours were incredible and it was one of the nicest curry’s we have had for a very long time. The service was a little slow, but they were busy, so I can’t hold that against them. Visiting from down south, we a pleasant shock when we got the bill, as the cost was considerably lower than it would have been at home. A great meal, lovely food and at a great price. Highly recommended

Once again outstanding meal they never fail. We have been using since they opened. Over 10 years now never had a bad experience.

Significant delay with delivery despite ordering over an hour in advance. Restaurant claimed delivery driver for Just Eat hadn't turned up yet even though even though the app said delivery driver was waiting at the restaurant. When I spoke to delivery driver, he said he hadn't been waiting long which confirmed the Just Eat app was not telling the truth. It doesn't help that Just Eat are not contactable.

Ordered a supposed quick takeaway. Took a long time waited considering and hoping the quality of the food would make up for the wait time. The food was lukewarm and oily. We wasn't best pleased as we were all celebrating my friends birthday with a few drinks at home. A few of my friends had upset stomach the next day. First and last time trying this curry house. On my experience I would not recommend it. Lesson learnt. 0/5

I have not seen so many flies since Tarzan took off his loin cloth off

Went with friends for first time. Very disappointing visit. Quite restricted menu. No one else in the restaurant Food was bland at best. Shame as has potential with the outside area but unfortunately won’t be going back as so many good Indian restaurants close. Shame.

Once these guys have your phone number they send spam text messages. It implies they don’t have much consideration for the laws against unsolicited messages or their customers.

Vai's Kitchen offers really great Indian food. There was a good variety on the menu. The food was fresh and nicely prepared.
