Royal King Grill Restaurant in Kirklees

Did collection, always like to try somewhere new but overall not impressed. Waited for food but it was only luke warm when home, only 10min journey. Curries lacked depth of flavour, tasted like water based and icing sugar sweetness. Chicken was small dice, lots of it but it was dry in texture and lacked any flavour.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside. Was quite sceptical. Ordered food for delivery, and it did not disappoint. Food was absolutely immaculate. Ordered several times after and every time it has been a hit. Thank you for the amazing food.

Went here last night. Absolutely lovely food. Their starters were just sublime. Genuinely the best I've had. But more importantly, the reason that's made me write this review was the service. There was this one lad who served us and made sure my family and I were well looked after. Making sure our water was topped up and cleaned up nicely after so we could sit and have a chat without the mess there. He spoke fluent English, unlike the person who sat us down. I couldn't really understand him. Think he just came from Pakistan or India recently. Honestly, the service in this place was brilliant, that as well as the delicious food, definitely deserves 5 stars. The lad who served us had a small beard was tall and I believe if I can remember correctly he said his name was Sufyan. Definitely made us feel welcome and comfortable.

Originally gave this place a 5 star rating a few years ago. It has gone rapidly down hill.. either that or they really don't care about delivery orders!! All customers should be treat the same In my opinion. Didn't listen to any notes added to order and food was very poor. Everything from the starter to the main course, bland, greasy and honestly quite disgusting and very disappointing.. its not cheap and sadly there are much better places around offering much better value when it comes to delivered food. Won't be ordering from here again. Please note my photo is from years ago and can't be removed

Had the takeaway. Don't know what everyone else has been eating as had lots of recommendations for here but it was like a bland ready meal. So disappointing.

Food is average compared to the rest of the curry houses. Service was very good and quick. Has been refurbished internally. Must have forgotten to do the toilets and washrooms and looks tired! Does have a good sized car park outside but it is a pay and display. Free after 6pm. CASH ONLY!!!

First time going for works do and the food was unreal, fast service, the chicken tikka masala was gorgeous perfect spice the peshwari nan was perfect will definitely be going again 😍

My only reason for not 5* in this place is there so quick,no other takeaway says an hour an turns up in 20mins. Like how can they be so fast maybe they have these dishes prepped as they are a restaurant. Other times I've just finished paying online and theres the familiar knock of the driver. The lamb tikka and the wraps are great if you want something quick and easy. The food quality has been VGood an I've taught the staff not to put salad an coke in with hot food😆

First of all the staff are so welcoming and friendly .we were served respectfully. This place is family friendly and my daughter was very happy.The food is 10/10 and well presented and tasty. The environment is clean and fun .i would highly recommend recommend and visit often .

Four of us went to watch an away game at Liversedge FC, to make more of a day of it I'd googled 'homestyle curry restaurants' in the area, and this one came up with good reviews. It's also a bring your own beer place. Well, we weren't disappointed with Royal King Grill, a great menu including homestyle dishes. All our curries were absolutely fantastic - especially mine and Pete's, we'd ordered our Handis 'Asian style'. Mix kebab starters were spot on too, particularly the seekh kebabs, which were really juicy, very tasty. Service was really good, and the staff really friendly. A really nice touch, the owner came over at the end of our meal for a chat. A cracking meal, and super value at well under £20/head. We'll be going back on our next West Yorkshire away day for sure. You go - you'll not regret it. You may well be better booking a table, and it's CASH ONLY.

Never had a bad meal from here, everything we've tried has been lovely, hot and tasty - definitely our go to for Indian takeaway. Also delivery drivers polite and friendly.

Service was good, however I was disappointed with the food. We ordered a TAWA and with in 5 minutes it was served which we were very surprised. Starters were not fresh at all, very chewy and no taste at all. Donner was burned and saturated in oil. Curry was spicy but tasted nice.

Lovely food. We ordered the tawa for 2 with chicken tikka masala and makhani. Just wish the tawa included a bit of rice too. We’ve had takeaway a few times too via the app. Will definitely return to the restaurant in the near future.

Decent food with great service. Food isn’t in the level as Bradford.changing review to 1 star. Ordered food from Uber took 2 hours. The nan was filled with oil. The lamb karhi on the bone meat was cheap quality and not like the one you have in there restaurant.

Hi .. felt slightly dissapointed tbh food felt really rushed on our 6.30pm booking … ordered the tawa thing for 4 ppl .. it came as we were still eating poppadoms and pickle starters .. but it was lukewarm at best .. … food coming that quick should be sizzling hot … I really wanna try again to hope it was an ‘off night’ … feel let down .. and am really gutted to leave this review as was so looking forward to our first visit

Went yesterday 19/03 took family for the tawa they do but .. the currys were OK..the rest was disappointing the fish was under cooked so were te chicken wings which were pink inside.. It was ramadan and we was hungry So we ate as much as we could.. My daughter got home during the night woke up puking .. went to doctors and they said it was food poising.. It used to be so good we travelled 30 miles just to go to this place.. but I think its just going down.. No disrespect but prices go up with quality.. that wasn't quality..

Food was beyond expectations, full of taste and flavours. My chicken pathia was delicious, the naan bread was the lightest naan I've ever had. And the house sauce with the poppadoms pickle tray was amazing. If I didn't live 5 hours away I'd be here every week. Very good value too.

I have just ordered our 2 usual curry meals without the starter as the prices have shot up , the chapattis are thick and can’t soak or pick anything up and there is no curry sauce it is just gee . Really disappointed as we have ordered from you since you opened

Staff very friendly ..Tandoori Mixed Grill , Wow , loads of food on a sizzling skillet , perfectly cooked , Bhuna , Tikka Massala , all said were fab ..Due to amount of food on the mixed grill a Doggy bag was required..Looking forward to that later ..Very trasonable prices too. . Some days it's omg beautiful food and then other days it's just standard.

Went down for my daughters birthday, disappointed with the waiters just staring at us making us feel very uncomfortable throughout as if we didnt belong there. The starters were avery disappointing no flavour or spice at all (maybe we are judging from Bradford's very high standards?) However the chicken masala was nice and the meat curry. Wont be coming back!

It was the first time that we came to dine in. We heard the food was good, so we went to see. Well we didn't expect it when the food was served. The food was okay, it's not wow, it is the same as home made food as we cooked at home. For the price, it's very small portions. My kids ordered the burgers. One bite, they left it, my kids never leave their food unless there is something wrong or dislike and they love burgers, but the R K G Restaurant burgers weren't what they expected, it wasn't made by the chef but it was a ready made from the shop. We weren't pleased about the food. The milkshake was more watery, and my kids didn't finish it. Overall we weren't satisfied with our meals.

We came for the first time on Friday night and wow the food was just smashing. Top notch service, tasty curries and my dad didn’t stop talking about it all weekend. Always enjoy the food at RKG. My husband likes his curries hot but when it came he was disappointed but as soon as he mentioned this to the owner he immediately went back to the kitchen and came back with another, hotter curry.

Hiyya just to let you guys know I’ve been ordering here since about 2 weeks ago and I’ve ordered a good couple of times. The food is absolutely beautiful and came warm. They always be on time if not earlier. The staff over phone and delivery driver are very kind and have nice manners. You should try this takeaway. Highly recommend ed.

Came here with friends, a lovely place to dine if you enjoy Indian cuisine, good choice on the menu, no drinks licence so take your own, would highly recommend and will be coming here again.
