Went with family for a birthday meal. Whilst a coiple of people had off earlybird others ordered off main menu, we all ordered drinks and asked if we could have water for table three times, We eventually got some when our meal was finished. Food was very nice however it was quite expensive. Not sure i would return because of the poor service, staff need to be more friendly and welcoming.

This is the first time I’ve visited since I went vegan 4 ½ years ago (I no longer live in Huddersfield ), I’d mentioned on my booking that I was vegan and could thru make me a vegan paratha (their cheese & garlic paratha used to be my favourite thing ever! For my vegan curry option I chose from the veggie curries and they said they’d make it vegan, I had palak - spinach curry & plain rice. They then asked me if I wanted a vegan paratha as they’d seen it on my booking…. So I said yes, they’d offered a garlic paratha and it did not disappoint. Everything we had was presented beautifully. Plates were hot & all dishes were too hot to touch .. so everything stayed hot. Staff were friendly & attentive & we were never rushed despite the fact we hung around after our meal was over. Super happy

Tried Laxmi the other day as we had passed it a few times on the way to Huddersfield,,,looked a nice place from the outside. Inside is even better ,,and the food is excellent,,and to make it worth the visit complete the staff are the best we've met out of a lot of places we've been to. It is also wheelchair friendly with a very well built ramp .

Best curry restaurant in Huddersfield by a mile!! Everything from the waiters to the food was really good. The Young lad that served our table probably doesn't realise how good a waiter he is. Asked us beforehand if any allergies or restrictions. The food was really nice and everything was presented well. Loved the giant plates that came for our main ( if the wife's handbag had been bigger I reckon she would of tried taking them home) Honestly, try the lamb samosa starter. It comes with a chickpea side which is devine. All in all we would highly recommend laxmi to everyone

After initial booking problem which was solved in a professional manner a first meal here didn’t disappoint brilliant young staff attentive and food as good as anywhere I’ve eaten really good small details which enhanced the experience well done laxmi owner/staff can’t wait to come back

I was recommended this place by a friend. The food was amazing!! Will definitely be ordering again. I ordered take out and this was really simply via their own app. I collected from the restaurant, which was very nice inside and looks like a lovely place to dine in too. The staff were really helpful and friendly too.

Got a takeaway yesterday Was disgusting and expensive, The Nan bread was flat tasted uncooked was like a pancake, the actual meal went in the bin after a few mouth fulls. My Husband spent most of last night in bathroom never again.

I called in on a Friday evening and was impressed by the decor snd layout. It was quite expensive, more so as I had a whole pickle tray to myself. I ordered 2 poppadoms which were served broken into 4 or 5 pieces in a basket. The pickle tray had 5 dips. Mixed kebab starter was well presented and very tasty. I didn’t need the raita served in a mini milk bottle. Main course of Chicken Bombay was lovely served with 2 chapatis. There was plenty of tender meat in a tasty sauce with a bit of kick. Total bill including a soft drink was around £32 - somewhere to go for a treat rather than a cheap and cheerful meal.

Upon arrival, there was no record of our booking. Fortunately, I had taken a screenshot of booking confirmation when I made it, over a week since. Our party of four was taken straight to a table. However, our booking was questioned again minutes later with the plausible explanation they wanted to check their system in case further unexpected parties were likely to show. Nonetheless, by now, we were feeling uncomfortable, as though WE had somehow pulled a fast one and that we were - grudgingly - being given the benefit of the doubt. After this unpromising start, service (by 3 young ladies) was provided inconsistently throughout meal. Not terribly but perfunctorily. Two and a half main courses appeared, my BIL received his rice and naan but no curry and my wife received nothing at all, eventually obliged to enquire at reception as to its whereabouts because the waiting staff were so lax and inattentive. This after our order had been read back to us at time of ordering. The food (when it all finally arrived) was wonderful. Delicious and presented nicely. But for a dining out experience to be complete the establishment must be strong across the board - not weak in some areas, stronger in others. Laxmi has been a fixture at Berry Brow for around 20 years. More than enough time to have refined their 'product'. On reflection, disappointed on the whole although I say again, the food was good. Incidentally, when we left 90 minutes later, the restaurant was still only a quarter full and there was no evidence of them table shuffling to accommodate punters.

To the management, The vegetarian food is great and a small request from our Sanatan Dharm, as we have seen the tissues on the table has Lord Ganesha logo which is inauspicious and insult to our Dharm. Could you please consider removing lord Ganesha Logo from the tissues please. Thank you. Apart from that, the vegetarian food is delicious and 5* for that.

Came last Sunday for early bird, we chose the 19.95 option friends all had mixed pakora, I had the fish.. then 2 lots of chicken and spinach, I had chicken bombay and other had keema.. wow! Absolutely amazing food .. Will say the waiting staff need to be a bit more warm and friendlier, but that's the only tiny gripe as I've worked in restaurants myself.. more personality, laughs needed to make this Absolutely a star 🌟 🤩 definitely come again though! Planning a revisit very soon xxx

ordered a takeaway we had dopiaza,tika masala, madras meals all meals tasted exactly the same bland and tasteless the chicken was chewy and the lamb fatty also the rice was over cooked the best thing was the chappatis very very expensive for below standard food shameful really

Nice restaurant but the food was slightly disappointing. Fish starter was over cooked and dry. Mixed pakoras were lovely and the two mains were fine but a little bland. Thought £4 for a small bottle of alcohol free Heineken was a bit steep.

Starters were lovely and fresh. Mains were left on the pass for too long and came out " warm ". Flavours were fantastic but the chicken was thigh and not breast in the main curry. This really let the place down. Serving cheap cuts of meat for high prices. Don't think I'll come back due to slimy thighs. Disappointing.

Quite delicious and flavourful food! Early enough to enjoy the delights from the early bird menu. We had onion pakoras and chicken kebab to start, which were presented very nicely and had some decent flavour. I also ordered some additional fish pakoras from the full menu - was a little disappointed by these, have had FAR better elsewhere, but the batter was light and the fish succulent but under seasoned! Then for mains we opted for Chicken Karai - sensational, full flavoured with tender pieces of chicken. Also a chickpea curry, which was very nicely spiced and delicious! The naans were rather tasty and the poppadoms were lovely and crispy and served with some tasty pickles and chutneys! Overall a decent evening out, the staff weren’t massively engaging at all, but it was a very busy night for them! Would visit again to try more off the early bird menu !!

Clean and modern restaurant. Starters weren’t the tastiest, but the mains were lovely and made up for this. There is a car park opposite.

So much potential but a few problems Sri Lankan fish curry sauce great but spoilt by fish being battered. Chapati bread really greasy

Although Laxmi is usually a good place to experience something more unusual, my meal was very disappointing this time. I ordered lamb biryani which on the menu said lamb, vegetables, rice and a curry sauce. The veg turned out to be frozen sweetcorn and peas, almost as much as there was rice. I don’t like sweetcorn and wasn’t expecting to find it in the dish, definitely not in the vast amount there was. Way too much to be picked out. To be fair, they recooked it but just replaced the sweetcorn with extra peas. They definitely do other dishes well, but this one is not one of them. Take it off the menu if it can’t be done well.

Faultless in every way. Mum is 92, and we were looked after with kindness and respect. Our lamb korma was tender and DELICIOUS😁😁

Always a good welcome from Anita and her staff at Laxmi. It's a bright and stylish restaurant which never has let us down in the years we have been patrons. They have some twists on some popular favourites but keep things honest.

Our usual takeaway for Saturday nights was disappointing this week. Ordered the fish pakora starter which is usually lovely, however, tonight the fish was grey and rubbery. My curry, chicken bombay was also disappointing and very different from the ones ive previously had. Maybe there is a different chef on?? Hope this is a one off.

We tried to order a chicken madras and a lamb masala. The waiter pushed us to order chicken Desi and Lamb Desi (did they have loads to shift?) we accepted chicken Desi madras hot but I said we liked one spicy chicken curry and one creamy lamb curry so I stuck with lamb masala. My lamb one was spicy and had never seen cream. Just was so similar to chicken one and not what I asked for and neither were nice. The naan breads are weird. It’s like they’ve been soaked in oil. They’re not like bread. They’re like oily rags. Won’t return. Spent £60 and photo is what we left. Huge waste of money.

There was plenty of vegetarian and non vegetarian options with famous indian dessert. They were also serving drinks, juices and lassi and many more things. Even they have a lighting stand to make your food warm for many other minutes.

We went for teatime sitting, 5.30pm. I thought we’d be the only ones in but by 6.30 it was busy. I’d been told by some friends it wasn’t very good but wanted to try for myself as did my husband. Well top marks!! The food was delicious 😋 we will return. Ok it’s not the cheapest but I’d rather pay for quality than cheaper less quality. We will be returning.

We've had takeaway from here a couple of times which has been spot on. Dining in the restaurant is even better. We made it in time for the early bird which was a nice bonus, and wow was the food delicious! So tasty and the meat very good quality. Definitely recommend this place.

Most authentic Indian food in Huddersfield! It's about 10min drive from town centre, but totally worth it. Brilliant ambience and amazing service. The food is always fresh and flavourful not swimming in oil like many of the fake Indian takeaways! There is free parking just across the road. Just attended an event hosted here and it was just soo good. Me and many of my friends are regulars here!

Cant believe I am saying this lived in this area for 35 years and I have never been until today and omg it was an absolute delight all my family have been before and as a treat my Mrs decided to make me go and so glad we did as the Service was a real joy the food was to pardon the pun to die for we even shared a desert hoping they do Christmas Day that will be a big bonus for me got my menu for a take away which we will be trying real soon thank you a new fan

Always excellent food either take out or sit in 👌🏼 the staff are really friendly and the place has a good atmosphere around it. Plenty of parking across the road which is owned by the laxmi. The restaurant is very clean and there always seems to be plenty of customers in. 👍🏻

All the way down from Scotland to my uncles birthday party that was held here had a fabulous time. Food was delicious the atmosphere and staff spot on. Would highly recommend.

After reading sonereviews on here , we were slightly worried about being invited here by our family. We shouldn't have worried. The food was excellent, the staff were all absolutely charming and the restaurant is stylish , clean and perfect, We had a lovely evening and will definitely be returning very soon.

This is a lovely restaurant, which could easily be missed due to its location outside of Huddersfield centre and close to Berry Brow. The food is beautiful and, I would say, one of the best Asian restaurants in the Huddersfield area. I would recommend a visit to the Laxmi.

Visited here numerous times both in the restaurant and as a take away customer over about a 10 year period. We arrived about 5 minutes before our booking time and we was immediately shown to our table. There was about 20 customers in so it wasn’t over busy. It took over 20 minutes to take our orders for drinks and a pickle tray. A basket of popadoms arrived charged at £1.50 for the poppadoms which just about contained 2. Overpriced. The food started to come out and was tasty but we found the staff didn’t really know there product too well. Extremely disappointed and to round it off when you pay by card it asks you if you want to tip which personally offends me. Won’t be returning. There are restaurants of a similar standard but at about 60% of the cost.

Me & my husband went to laxmi last night, we waited 20mins waiting for our order to be taken then another half hour for the food, When the food arrived we was given the wrong food. A Total mix up, we was given keemer peas instead of the chicken Karachi asian style that I ordered, told the waiter but they wasn’t interested so asked another one who then brought chicken makhan instead of chicken Karachi. They were reluctant to change this. We never ended up with the food we ordered. Due to the wrong food I had food before my husband so we was sat watching each other eat. At the end we was told we wouldn’t be charged for the keemer peas when we never eat it & never ordered it. No offer for discount for compensation Finally, the bottles of water and mint sauce lids were rusty Won’t be going back. Poor customer service

Although a bit of a distance to travel when we want something a bit different on a special occasion we are happy to travel here! Firstly a good car park opposite and a lovely decor inside with clean toilets and pleasant staff. Now the important matter of the food; we have never been disappointed and found the food as good as any Indian we have been to.

Visited with a group of curry enthusiast friends. The place is well decorated to a modern standard with pleasant and attentive staff. The quality of the food is superb, but the menu lacks inspiration containing mainly what would be called old school classics elsewhere. Towards the top end of acceptable pricing too at £25 per person for stater and mains excluding drinks.

Didn't dine there as it was booked solid so enjoyed the take away experience !! And it was very nice if not a little light on the portions for the price we paid !! All in all enjoyable but a tad expensive and not quite as good as the pink elephant at meltham which is better value and better quality .

Had a take out, never had a korma so spicy, food was cold and a long wait passed collection time, first time eaten from here and sorry not again 😢

Really pleasant staff, excellent quality food. It was even packaged with flair. There's always room for improvement but I'm extremely happy with my experience this evening.

Only had a small bite to eat, staff were friendly, mango lassi was perfect. Tikka masala was one of the best I've eaten, the dansak was middle ground. They are missing some staples found elsewhere such as sharing jugs of lassi, family naans etc. Overall I would return but would really like to see sharing jugs of lassi and family naans.

If you order for a takeaway don't bother It must be new management because they were a good curry house

The currys and selection were pretty standard with nothing particularly interesting on the menu. It was nice though and filling. Glad they had an early bird but it was still quite expensive for fairly small portions (5 poppadoms in a basket is actually 5 quarters...

Had a fantastic meal here. Service was decent, and the food was brought to our large group in good time. My group all enjoyed there meals, which says a lot. Not sure why its taken me so long to give this place a try, but glad i did. Will certainly go the next time my group meet here.

£28 quid for 2 currys and a starter you make your mind up. I have to say though it's one of the best curry's I've ever had so probably worth paying it was really nice.

This has quickly become our favourite 'Indian' restaurant in the area. Whether its eat in or takeaway the food is always superb and of very good quality which is important. I tend to judge an Indian restaurant by its chicken, you can tell right away...

Fabulous as always' if anyone suggests going for a curry in the whole of Huddersfield and beyond I ALWAYS make this the place to go. Staff all friendly and welcoming which is part of why I always come back. Food is spot on every time and just the right amount. I'm here now and just finished and had to share how wonderful it is here.

Simply the best curry I’ve had in the UK. I’ve been here every time I come to Huddersfield and I haven’t had a poor meal yet. The portion sizes are spot on, the prices are super reasonable and the staff are lovely. Keep it up, I’ll definitely be back 🎉
