wrong order delivered. rang up and was told it was delivery drivers fault. paid over £30 for ours and received £19 worth of something we did not want. horrible service and don't ever order from gurkha sizzler ever.

Absolutely cannot fault this place.One of the best meals we’ve had and the service was A++ we polished off all our plates and were happily full.we also had a wine each and at less than£25 each it was a bargain.So much flavour! Highly recommended.

Disappointed, as this is our go to curry place. The saag paneer was completely different to usual, everything felt drowned in cream. Missing pickle tray, hard, cold naan. Soggy, cold chips. Poppadoms smashed to bits. Chicken tikka masala didn’t taste like one, and again was covered in a creamy sauce-each curry tasted as though it was made with the same cream sauce. Portions seemed much smaller than before too, and seemed very expensive for what we got.

We held our Regimental Association Branch night out here in July. What a night great company, great food, great staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them, we had a set buffet upstairs so the room was our own. Santosh, Probi and Rosie were excellent hosts. We will definitely be organising another night out. The food is always great but today as always I asked for no green peppers in either dish but as soon as I opened the lids I could see green peppers. I’m not happy about this. It was even printed on the receipt so why did no one take notice of my request

Four of us had a meal here for a birthday celebration last night & the service was excellent. The staff were also helpful, pleasant & polite. We each had a different starter & main course & all were delicious. Three of our party have an intolerance to coriander so the chef cooked our meals without adding coriander seeds or fresh coriander. Would definitely return & recommend.

Hi we have eaten here this evening! Waited for our drinks (tap water)wasn't offered any bottled ! Waited for food !warm plates arrived but by the time food arrived cold plate Was never asked if everything was OK or if needed another drink! food wasn't hot (luke warm)! Very small portions !!!! we was the only two people in there not impressed at all !! Poor no atmosphere only thing you could hear was the guy bashing all the cutlery behind the bar !!! Never again stay away!!!

Came here for a birthday this evening and was amazed with the quality of the food the nepalese chilli chicken starter an D.C. C chicken momos were absolutely exceptional and the curries are incredible tasty. We sampled quite a large part of the menu as a family,and everything we ate and tasted was delicious.not a single complaint.the portions sizes are huge as well and the service we received was perfect we. Will definitely be visiting here again.thank you for a lovely evening will come back soon

To much slow service Food waiting time 1 hours after order

Disappointing at best. Service was ridiculously slow just to get served drinks, so we should of known the food would be even worse. We waited over an hour for food, when the food finally came it was Poor. We had half the food come out then waited again for the rest meaning half the meals were cold by the time we received the food correctly 2 of the party walked out because of this. The waitress had zero customer service skills, she did not communicate to anyone she did not even crack a smile or say hello.. The whole experience ruined a birthday meal will not return.

Nepalese Restaurant close to Huddersfield bus station. Good mix of dishes from Nepal & Indian and our waitress was very friendly and helped us make some very tasty choices. The food is probably cooked to order as the wait for food was rather longer than ideal but still very pleased we chose to visit.

we ordered chicken and veg manchurian. They labelled it wrong. I took a bite only to realise that it was labelled wrong. Also for the momos, I ordered Veg momos whereas mushrooms and paneer momos were delivered.

Reserved a table and we were the second table to arrive at 5.15pm after opening at 5.00pm Ordered drinks and starters, waited way longer than usual. Then asked for another round of drinks. 10 minutes later, we were watching the waitress still preparing tables and no drinks. Eventually another waitress asked if all was okay and went to get drinks for us. The place got quite busy then. Eventually our main's arrived and definately new smaller dishes and portions than usual. No cutlery, as they took it away after our starters. Couldnt get anyones attention and food going cold so all tried eating with a spoon as it was all we had left on the table. Eventually we got more cutlery. From going in to leaving took three hours to eat two xourses and have two drinks. Told out two friends rhe place was brilliant as it usually is and everything went wrong. It's almost as if it's changed hands.

This is a a very unique Curry experience in Huddersfield. The food is delicious and you have to try the Mo Mo's to start!! We were a party of 9. We we greeted and hosted with wonderful staff who are helpful patient and above all else full of smiles. Not my 1st visit here and will always be going back!

Had a few lovely meals here in the past but on their website they advertise opening hours until 10.30. Tried getting at table at 9pm and told in no uncertain terms that they are closed at 9pm as they are quiet. Will stick to nawaab tonight and in future.

It was very good and staff were very bright and friendly-they love to explain what you are eating. The food looks good too! Would give it a try if you have time and are looking for something new :)

Myself & my partner have had Saturday evening takeaways from here for many years. We have tried elsewhere, but non as good as here. Our order is always ready for collection at the agreed time, staff are polite & efficient, good prices, & most of all, the tastiest Indian/ Nepalese food i've had anywhere. Highly recommended.

It was rainy day. Me and MY friend went to this restaurant when we go inside the atmosphere was very good fill with melodious music with warm environment and the outdoor staff welcome us with lovely smile, they took us on the table and described about the menu and the price of restaurant was good better than other restaurants who overcharged ,despite the restaurant was very busy there were two staff and they handled very well . We took very famous Gurkha beer as a drink and we had momo as a starter and mix sizzler as a main dish. This was worth it to eat. I suggest every one to eat and definitely visiting again.

Visited Gurkha Sizzler today and cannot stop thinking about the amazing food and service. It's been a while since I had such authentic Indian cuisine, and I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Gurka Sizzler is a small restaurant close to the Huddersfield bus station. Parking is in the paid car parks adjacent to the restaurant. Under new management the food quality has not suffered. The menu and style of cooking is based on the north west traditions of India. Some vegetables seem as if they were frozen prior to cooking rather than from fresh. The spices are well rounded without excessive use of chillies. Prices are of the order of £20 per head but rise with alcoholic drinks. There is a desserts menu but these are mostly cold and again based on traditional sweets. For those who don't want to challange their palate there is a limited english menu including for children. Take away and home delivery options are available.

We enjoy visiting Gurkha Sizzlers reguarly for a takeaway or a dine-in on certain occassions. However, it was our Son's birthday and we wanted to book Gurkha Sizzlers for an evening party, its conveniently located near Bus station and has ample car parking space too, plus we were sure food quality. I spoke with the Chef/Owner about number of guests and menu items that I would like to consider for the party. He was extremely polite and helpful advising me on how best we could setup the menu, he also offered few items complimentary. The menu was as follows: Veg Starters: Paneer Tikka Veg Manchurian Non veg Starter: Chicken Tikka Chicken Lollypop Veg Main: Dal makhani Matar Paneer Malai Kofta Non veg Main: Chicken Saag Chicken Makhani Sundries: Butter naan/Garlic Naan Others: Jeera Rice Chicken Nuggets Fries Salads Chutneys For the amount of menu items chosen, he gave a very competitive price so it was win win. We had an expected party size of about 40+ including 15 kids, we were provided the space on the first floor entirely to ourselves with a buffet setup fully managed by pleasant and very attentive staff. Before the party started I was apprehensive about whether the service will be slower due to the restaurant below, however we were pleasantly surprised that the staff looked after our needs and were quick to respond eventhough downstairs (restaurant) eventually got busy. All food items were delicious as validated by all guests and the service was great. As a host, what more can one ask for, we will definitely plan our future parties here and is a place I would wholeheartedly recommend for anyone.

A friend and I went after 5pm on a Sunday evening for a bite to eat. We should’ve guessed as a place was very sparse. We waited around for quite awhile despite giving a drinks so in the end we went to the bar had a word with the turban wearing chap behind the desk…he didn’t know anything about any drinks orders, and didn’t even know The difference between the Indian beer Cobra and the Nepalese beer… at this point, we decided to go to another curry house nearby.

Average food but terrible service Visited Sunday night so very quiet. Took ages till we were greeted and drunk order taken . A party test arrived after were served first and received their orders before us. The waiter was more interested in chatting to an Indian couple than us. Came with hot plates and handed to me to pass to my sister! When food arrived he lent over people to give food, even though plenty of room behind us. Didn’t return to see if we were happy with food. When I complained he wasn’t in least bit interested. If you like good service and good food don’t go there.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had from a take out. The food delivered was very cold and I wasn’t delivered the correct order. After calling the restaurant I received my correct order over an hour later which was also cold. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend getting food delivered from here

Well this has been our favourite restaurant for a while but after Saturday not sure we will be back We went on Saturday without booking asked to sit for 5 mins whilst they cleared a table It was quite busy, 3 guys came in 2 mins after us also without booking - we were then told sorry I have relooked at the bookings and we are unable to give you a table - as we were leaving disappointed the 3 guys were asked to sit for 5 mins whilst table sorted for them !!!

Visited this restaurant for office Christmas Dinner with 11 people. Incredibly polite and helpful staff, delicious food and lovely invarmoent inside. The owner himself came to our table several occasion and asked if we are configurable and enjoying. We needed additional items from menu which was arrived in the table so promptly. We are new residents in Huddersfield and we saw how highly rated this restaurant in on reviews we are glad we booked a table on Thursday evening because we might well have been disappointed had we not done so.everything was well up to our expectations and beyond.the welcome, service,food and drink were all great and we thought that the whole meal was served at just the right pace-not too fast and not too slow.The fact that the restaurant was full is a good indication of its well deserved popularity,as was the number of people coming in for Takeaway.we will return.

This is the second time we have ordered from here, and the quality of food is absolutely excellent. Definitely a cut above the average takeaway curry! All fresh ingredients, including fresh spices, and nothing out of a tin as far as we could tell. Last night, a meat eater, a vegetarian and a vegan all enjoyed their choices immensely! Only one minor grumble, which may be the fault of the Just Eat information: the veg Momo dumplings, advertised as vegan, have paneer (cheese) in them. Sadly no photos, because we ate everything before we thought to take pictures of it !

We ate in took 2 hours to bring the food we ordered for delivery that got automatically cancelled because they took to long and now we try collection and they say 20 minutes 1 hour later we get the food

Our family visited Gurkha last day. The waiting time was like 2 hours and food quality was very poor. We git some old chicken, which had really bad smell and taste. When we told them, they were not accepting it and not even ready to ask to make the food again. They also told us that there are 2 naans instead the cut a single naan to small pieces and gave us. Really bad and worst experience

I felt really unwelcome when we arrived. No one smiled or greeted us. I waited a long time, and no one even came to ask about even a drink order. I could see almost every table was still waiting, so due to how dirty and scruffy the place looked and the waiting time. We got up and left, so I can't comment on the food.

This is rhe 2nd tike ive ordered from here and wow. Really reasonable prices, stunning, stunning food. Literally perfectly cooked, bursting with flavours, super fast depivery on JE, staff lovely and piping hot. The 1st time was great. This evening was better. Restaurant quality, and superb quality at that, delivered to your door. I have no invested intrest in in even leaving a review, but do believe in credit where its due and as this made my evening, hopefully this will make theirs. Cheers. James

Visited Gurkha Sizzler last night with a friend before a gig. I'm not from Huddersfield so relied on Google reviews to guide my choice of restaurant. We did know we fancied a curry though! Anyway, we didn't book, but were accommodated easily by the friendly waitress. I've visited far fancier looking Indian restaurants recently, but appearances can be deceptive, because I couldn't fault the service and the food was absolutely outstanding. I had the Matar Paneer and my friend had the Chicken Biryani - both were excellent, as were the ice cold bottles of Gurkha Lager. Loved it. Would go again in a heartbeat.

1st visit for some time - Loved it

We usually really enjoy food from Gurkha Sizzler, however today the tandoori chicken starter came with only 4 pieces of chicken, one of which was inedible as it was chewy and hard. The chapattis were also quite chewy. Usually highly rate this place but something was off today.

I visited the restaurant last night with group of 14 people from the company and this was my first visit to the restaurant what can I say my experience was Frist class from being welcomed into the restaurant right though to our eating experience the food was absolutely delicious to look at and tasted divine our guest were given plenty of time between each course I will definitely be making a return visit to the restaurant and will be recommending to all of my friends A big well done to the staff and chefs and not forgetting the all team

After reading the reviews on trip advisor we ordered a takeaway mid week for a birthday treat . It was disgusting from start to finish. The rice was missing and the portion of curry would not fill a child . The chapattis were very thick . I rang the restaurant to complain and all they could say was complaint to just eat ! I did and got my £2:50 back for the missing rice . However we paid £25 for two curry’s , one rice and four chappatis that went in the bin . The chicken in the curry was not edable , it was very cheap and chewy. It may be different if you eat in but if you are thinking of getting a takeaway I would avoid.

The location of Hotel is in most favorable place with peaceful environment. Food is very healthy. I would like to recommend to my friends and family members to visit this place once.

Ordered via just eat, dishes missing and the guy who delivered it, left it on the step and rung me whilst in the car to say he’s left it on the door step. Called the restaurant and said next time I order I can’t get a refund…what about my food now? Rubbish portions and more expensive. Avoid.
