The food on their Thali nights is exceptional and reasonably priced too. I would definitely come back.

Went as a big group for a celebration. Got told off by the waiters for being up out of seats trying to talk to our friends seated further up the table. Made to feel like we weren't allowed to get up. Food was ok, nothing special for me. Meat in my main course was tough. Restaurant was cold and staff not particularly welcoming. I'll not bother returning

Visited Friday evening about 7:30, we didn’t book but on arrival that wasn’t a problem. Was asked to wait for a couple of minutes whilst they got a table ready, was then shown to our table. Restaurant was busy which we thought was a good sign. We waited for at least 10 mins before anyone came to ask what we would like to eat, we knew what we wanted so ordered everything in one go, didn’t have a starter but asked for some poppadoms, we waited approximately 20 mins before someone bought them which was not a good sign, then they bought something to our table which we hadn’t ordered!! Eventually they bought our food which was actually ok but we did wait a while again. Never had to wait that long for food before so won’t be returning.

Staying in the area and went for a birthday meal as my partner loves curry. We had read reviews and looked at the menu prior to going. Walked in and asked for a table. We were pleased to see it very busy for a Friday evening, which made us think it must be good. Were taken to our table and we chose what we fancied but had to wait ages and ages before someone took our order. The lady wasn’t familiar with the menu though she did say she was new. About half an hour passed and I was bought a dish which I hadn’t ordered. I asked if our poppadoms were ready. They left and returned with the dish I hadn’t ordered and asked if they could leave it with me. Again I said no, we haven’t ordered it. Cold poppadoms eventually arrived but it was clear that service wasn’t quick or smooth. People around us were waiting ages to have plates cleared or another course served. We were there over an hour and 20 mins before our main course was delivered, having had no starter except the poppadoms. We had to ask for another drink, and ask them to clear away our pickles. When the meal finally arrived, it was tasty and full of flavour. Disappointed compared to similar restaurants where we live, where you’re treated well and served promptly. The food is good, but sadly we wouldn’t return.

I have been meaning to put a review on since my birthday in June, I would just like to say service and food a brilliant as always. We lost something while there and realised afterwards they went above and beyond to help us and located our missing item thank you so much!

We went as a large group of friends....service was excellent from the start.... loved the food especially for the price would definitely recommend

Absolutely fantastic as usual. The staff, especially the lad with blond hair was so friendly and professional. Never had a bad a bad in all the evenings we have spent there.

The naan bread was soggy, the pakoras were overcooked, the curry was hot and full of tomatoes despite being a mango based curry. Staff were rude and asked us to leave our table after 2 hours we were not made aware of this when we booked. The young lad with strange haircut (blonde on top) was the rudest of the staff members. He sat us down and didn't ask if we wanted any drinks or anything just walked away. He also served us later on and he was clueless (I understand that the menu is not in English and he is English but at he could have tried at least to learn some of the names of curries we couldn't pronounce) - not sure if he was new or not but he's clearly never been trained. Just a typical rude teenager looking for cash in an easy job. - it's not exactly hard raking orders and serving drinks. The bills are handwritten by a lady at the bar - Why not just invest in a till that prints? She was nice and very fast with the calculator - Probably the most impressive part of the night. The pink elephant leaves a lot to be desired and the staff that work there need a lesson on how to smile and be friendly to the people who are paying their wages.

The best in the Holme Valley? It may just be that!! Great food. Great service. Great prices.

I’ve been to and ordered from pink elephant probably 15-20 times and never been disappointed. At this point I’ve tried most of the dishes on the menu and been impressed with the vast majority. Friendly staff whether you’re eating in or taking out. My go to Indian/Persian place in Huddersfield.

The restaurant itself is dark and feels a little bit ‘grubby’. Our experience started by the rather grumpy waiter plonking a load of glasses on our tables for our drinks and each one was filthy.. one of the half pint glasses you couldn’t even see through. The older waiter was inattentive and looked like he didn’t want to be there. The younger waiter was brilliant and a real credit to the place! We came for the Tuesday Indian tapas… The food was cold the curries were bland and flavourless. All 5 of our party agreed that they wouldn’t come back and the food was very poor! The price was great i cant fault that however id much rather pay more for a clean restaurant with nice food rather than bland spice less food and a dusty glass to drink from. We wont he returning, meltham balti just on the road is a much better option than here.

Excellent gluten free options on the menu for those that are that way inclined, (including the samosas). A good authentic selection of curries and side dishes, our food was delicious, side salad was slightly anemic but overall reasonably priced! Well done Pink Elephant 🐘

Becoming our regular place to go for a curry. The food has always been spot on. So many choices that dont disappoint Compliments to all of the staff who are all so lovely!! Would highly recommend

Regular eater here we really love the food and service here. We eat in and take out and it is always so so good!

Having booked a table for four we turned up 5 minutes before the required time only to see every table full and a large queue waiting. 15 minutes later we were still sat waiting not even having been offered a drink. we enquired of the less than helpful woman behind the counter when we might expect to get our table only to be met with a disinterested " No idea". This prompted us to leave and seek a table elsewhere. The foods usually not bad but to book and not get the table shows a terrible approach to service Don't bother.

Really enjoyed the food at The Pink elephant everything was beautifully cooked and presented. I have the Lucknow lamb chops and it was served on a sizzling dish. The onions and spices were delicious. What really stood out was the service. Really lovely staff who were genuinely interested in you enjoying your visit to their restaurant. The only improvement I would make would be to refurbish the loos as they were a little bit of a let down compared to the overall ambience of the restaurant. Although they were clean. Just a bit shabby. Overall we had a great meal and will definitely be going back there for more.

Went there last night with some friends, table of 6. First time me and my wife had been, but it came recommended. We weren't disappointed! We had 3 sizzling sharing platters to start with. The meat was very tasty and tender, with lots of fried onions, which you can't have enough of can you? I ordered the hottest thing on the menu, the Bishnati Jalfrezi, and it was just right. Hot but not so much that it overpowered the taste. Fresh chapati's - job done. We had quite a few drinks, spirits and bottles of wine, and it came to £190, so very reasonable as well. Will definitely be going back.

I googled it and can see the address and pictures of the staff...... how stupid and immoral can you get? Reported via phone, email to police and phone call on fraud line. --------------------------------------------------------------- It wasn't Saturday night..... you can see I posted this hours ago at 12:51 (you don't open until 5pm) and it wasn't to my land line, it was my mobile. Its obvious that no one was cloning anyone ....... 🤦‍♀️ ....... that was obviously the lie, when I started questioning the scammer "where are your "o2" offices based? they said London.. ...... when I could clearly see it said Pink elephant Huddersfield on my incoming call screen. Its also pretty damn amazing that your incoming land line is saved on my phone logs along with the business name. 🤔 but thanks for the reply, I read your other sarky, defensive comments to the other low star reviews, so predicted this. Just want others and yourselves to know that scam phone calls are being made from your landlines.

We have been going to this restaurant for years and after the visit we won't be returning I don't know if they have a new chef but every dish starter and main meal was absolutely terrible All 3 curries were not pleasant the madras had never seen a madras and was overpowering with vinegar or lemon juice was so sour, and another just tasted of burnt oil The paratha was uncooked and the rice was more like cous cous I don't know what's happened but they need to rectify it Sorry to write this review

Food was absolutely amazing! Came here for Tapas tuesday and it’s safe to say it’s one of the best curry’s I have had in a very long time. £10.95 for the chicken tapas and this came with rice, choice of naan, tikka starter and , curries! Absolutely amazing😍

Food was spot on! We shared onion barjis with mint sauce and popodoms with pickle tray! My girlfriend got chicken korma and i had chicken jalfrezi! Wow i did'nt expect it to be quite that spicey had a sweat on lol and had to neck some cobra lager which worked well till my next mouthfull! Ended up going outside to cool down! 😝 Did'nt finish my curry but was totally my fault as i thought that if i could eat morrisons jalfrezi id be ok here! Great food and relatively cheap! Will definitley be going again in the near future but will ask for a slightly less spicey jalfrezi!! Highly recommended and staff very friendly and helpful

Have visited both restaurants in Exarxeia and Halandri, more than 30 times in between 2019 and 2022. The food is beyond good, however the the portion of meat started getting smaller and smaller over the years. For the first two years I was only visiting the Halandri restaurant. The reason I stopped going is that when I booked a table for two for my birthday in Halandri, they gave us a very small table, we didn't have space for our food there, the water on the floor. So we asked for the bigger one next to us that was free as we had ordered a lot ( planned to take home as well) and the lady, the owner I think, not the waitress, said "no, sorry, more people might come, this is for three " and she took our naan basket/ plate and put it on the couch where people sit! The restaurant was still almost empty, As we were regulars there, we expected at least fir them to try to have decent customer service, as we were spending at least 30 Euros per person every time we went there. So we started going to Exarxeia restaurant. ( different review) Prices are decent, but as I mentioned the meat portions could be a bit bigger, the meat in the curry plates is not enough in my opinion!

Called tonight for the 1st time after friends recommended it, and I have to say the Madras was so sharp as if there was so much lemon in it it was very acidic and not much heat. My wife got the tikka masala, and it was as red as a tomatoe which was very of putting, to say the least. We will call again to see if any other Curry's are better but overall I have to say it was ok.

Lucky I have giving 1 star !!! Came here for a date night! When we arrived we was put a table for two people we was cramped there was a birthday party next to use some members came and it was that cramped we had a man’s arse so close to your food and drinks as he past through to sit down ordered starters one came straight away the other nothing to be seen 30 minutes later my partner had to get up and ask where his was they soon brought it out our mains we asked for chicken tikka it came and they was like tomato soup/ korma style and when a waiter came to the table and asked if everything was ok they ignored my views and took the plates away and gave us the bill to say lots of people have said this is the best Indian restaurant ever! not impressed one bit and will defiantly not be recommending this place or coming back !

Booked a table , wasn’t asked for name when we got there , ordered a meal , bones were in the curry didn’t state that in the menu , chocked on a bone , ruined the meal , wouldn’t recommend as the curry wasn’t that impressive and the service not very good , they gave us minimal Deduction on the final bill but wasn’t worth the price Wouldn’t recommend

Absolutely superb! Great food, great atmosphere. Very busy but managed incredibly well by the owner and staff. No delay in the food to say that it was so busy. Will be back again. Our new favourite spot. Well done and Happy New year guys.

I wouldn't know we booked for 7.45pm and even rang them to say we was running late by 10 minutes waited until 8.30pm and then obviously the owner sat someone else down that was booked in at 8pm the owner was argumentative saying people was still finishing there food they was obviously far too busy and didn't know how to cope so will never go there again I actually traveled up from London to spend time with my wife and have a lovely meal but I was left extremely disappointed and ended up walking out and having a takeaway from somewhere else

Superb food served by lovely, attentive but unobtrusive staff. Never disappointed, whatever we order, but personally, highly recommend Goan Prawns, Nawabi Tava and Biriyani dishes.

Living locally to the pink elephant but never having visited gave good reason for a special occasion visit. My middle daughter is coeliac and I called to check menu options. Dillan rang me back to discuss and assured me they could accommodate our requirements. We had a lovely evening, friendly and efficient service, amazing food and all reasonably priced. Looked forward to a repeat visit and booked table online for a special occasion - Quandoo system. Received confirmation message and encouraging second message on 'booked' date. Unfortunately restaurant had already closed more than 7 days earlier due to a kitchen fire but no contact to let us know this and causing not only a totally wasted journey but also ruined the occasion.

Pink Elephant has been a staple of ours for a long time, and has remained so even now we live a little further away - it's definitely worth a drive for the quality. I think they've managed to get even better through lockdown and restrictions. The hospitality is first class if you eat in, but we have had the most fantastic takeaways from them as well. The specialities are our go-to, but there's something for everyone - even our 4-year old loves it! Great food from lovely people. Get a meal here as soon as you can - you won't regret it.

I was looking through the menu and the starters were remarkably similar to a favourite curry house of mine so I ordered a takeout. Chicken Jalfrezi, boiled rice, chapatis and veg samosas. Pastry on samosas was a bit thick and there was a spicy sauce drizzled on them but to be fair I enjoyed them. Chapatis were nice and thin, I hate doughy chapatis. Jalfrezi wasn’t quite there for me. It was ok but not quite there. Having said that I would go back and have a sit in meal to give it another go.

Staying locally for a holiday and the family voted for Indian takeaway for Sunday dinner. I mean why not. This was close to where we were and looked well turned out. The menu looked to have a few unusual items which appealed and set the place apart. We phoned an order in for collection which took 30 minutes. There's some on street parking round the area but no dedicated parking we could see - not an issue (I think they've moved location recently and the map on the menu is out of date). I was met by a man at the door who was polite and courteous, he gave me the food and a free bottle of 1664 to boot! Many thanks. The food was really tasty and had decent portion sizes. We had a mix of vegetarian and meat dishes, I ordered a mixed tandoori (unusual for me). It was ever so good, with a pleasant lemon tang coming through from the marinade on some of the pieces. We have only had takeaway and I absolutely recommend the food. The interior of the restaurant looked clean and maintained so would expect eating in to be as good as the takeaway.

**edited** Tried the pink elephant for the first ime in years last night. Staff very friendly and great atmosphere but our food had a salty taste. We did raise this with staff but not when the food first arrived and I'm sure this would have been addressed. The head chef took our feedback on board, so we will return and hopefully have a better experience. I updated the review after reading the restaurant's response to my original comments. Certainly worth a visit!
