Not been for a while but so glad we went back. The food was spot on. Sweet chilli fish was amazing and the roast lamb just melted. Will definitely be going back.

First time eating here, service was great food was amazing! The fish pakora starter was delicious. My husband had the garlic chilli chicken starter and said it was fantastic. We will definitely be back as the main courses were just fab. I would definitely recommend

Been coming here for quite a while. Started to notice the food seems to be going down hill. Had a Rogan Josh which I normally love but was way too spicy. Hotter than my friends chilly chicken for God's sake

We’ve eaten here quite a few times and the food is always outstanding! Super tasty, great service and the prices are also spot on! My personal recommendation is the Rani Special Biryani, it’s the most expensive one but worth the extra *chefs kiss*

Chicken tikka rogan josh again lots of flavours had a really nice kick to it, also ordered salmon starter with side order of masala sauce this was good with lots of flavour the sides vegetable pilau rice and a garlic nan all where delicious I have also eaten at the tamarind table but this just pip it to the post for me!

Plenty of free seats. Great food , good ambience and customer service. Bit pricey but worth it. Only downside could smell the drain. Definitely recommend

Smell of drains! Went for a meal with my cousin around 7pm on a Thu. We were the only ones in the whole night and nobody even came in for a take away. As soon as we walked in there was an overwhelming smell of drains. We were both starving so sat down, hoping the smell would go. It didn’t! The food was good and obviously service was good as it was only us. Not sure what’s going on, I’ve been here numerous times and it’s always had people in. Found it quite sad, but surely they can smell what we could smell?

Been here since I was a child, personally don't think there is anywhere better, staff are excellent and friendly, food is the best!!

we went out for a family meal, the food was very tasty with great flavours. loved their thawa dish and sizzler. The staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to help you. Will be coming back soon

The whole experience was terrible from start to finish. Everything was processed and my butter chicken was inedible as it was just a mass of fat and chewy undercooked chicken. My partner fared a little better but was of the opinion that it rated as one of the worst Indian meals he had ever had. At 9.30pmwe we were the only customers in the restaurant (Saturday night) and the staff were brushing up around us. We will not be returning !!!

Arrived at 5.55pm for a 6.00pm booking, shown to our table and ordered drinks, 6.10 ordered our food (6 of us, 4 adults and 2 kids), poppadoms and chutneys etc arrived, 6.25 starters arrived, at 6.45 we asked could we have our mains, we asked again at 7.00pm and they arrived at 7.25, at 7.50 we asked for 1 ice cream for one of the kids, we asked again at 8.00pm, at 8.10, 8.15 and 8.20 we asked for the bill, the ice cream never arrived, in my opinion shocking service. The food is excellent though

Previous experience of this restaurant, admittedly a couple of years ago, was that it was excellent, so thought I’d give it another try while I was in town. Really quite disappointing. It was pretty empty on a Saturday evening which was probably a warning sign but we went ahead anyway. The popadums and starters were OK but the main course was really poor. Tandoori chicken in a fairly tasteless Garlic Chilli Masala looked and tasted like it had come from a supermarket, probably Asda, where they got the sparkling water that they’d have paid about 30p a bottle but were selling at over £3. Won’t be going again.

Decided to try this resteraunt after having a takeaway previous week which was good and we were not dissapointed we had the salmon tikka and the mix grill garlic nan vegetable pilau rice and masala sauce all these dishes where very tasty and nicely cooked also wine and drinks reasonably priced having tried other indians in Atherton i have to say this is definately one you should try!

By far the best Indian restaurant this side of India. P!$$ all over tamerand table, you won’t get much better than this place for meat quality and the taste of the curries.

Called here with our curry club 23rd march ,great friendly staff and the food was brilliant, one of the best curry's we have had ,will visit again .

Chilli powder overload absolute gut rott I noticed the waiter putting his nose on the nan breads smelling them before serving. I really paid for it the morning after 🤮

It's difficult to try to explain this visit chronologically. Christmas day meal for a family party of 20 + of us. Arrived at 1700 hours to be ushered in with all the other guests like we were a herd of cattle. It was absolute utter mayhem. When we were finally seated we waited for our starters. We were expecting papadoms and dips as complimentary with our starter. This wasn't the case, and we had to pay extra. Fair enough, no big deal. My 84 year old Mum had ordered the English menu, bare in mind this had been booked months ago. She waited, and she waited for her melon, to eventually be told they didn't have any!! I will continue to concentrate on her meal. She had ordered a Christmas meal. When it arrived it was a plate of a couple of slices of processed turkey with cold boiled potatoes and veg. She complained, so they said they would bring out extra hot food. It was squashed into a jug, yes you heard right, a jug. Turkey didn't go to waste as she wrapped it up for her dog. I had ordered lamb chops. They were cold and hard and wouldn't go amiss in a discas throwing competition. Then came pudding time. Christmas pudding, can't go wrong with that can you ? I don't think they understand that Christmas pudding has to be steamed. It came out like a cold brick, with cold custard. We complained again, so due to lack of comprehension they came out with a carton of Ambrosia custard and proceeded to pour it over my Mum's pudding. By this point, we decided to throw the towell in and laugh or else we would cry. Finally bill time. I had told them upon entering that 2 of our party were unable to make it. They knew they would lose their deposit, so no biggy. We literally had to spend the next half hour meticulously going through each item on the bill. Items on the bill that we had never ordered. After a lot of activity on his calculator it was finally agreed on a price that we agreed on. To be honest, I was at the point of just wanting to get out of there. The whole evening was spent on a catalogue of errors and confusion. Next year we will be doing our usual and spend the day at my house with a running buffet.

NEVER AGAIN ! Myself , my husband, my daughter and her boyfriend booked an Indian Christmas dinner from a set menu stating £23.95 per head. We paid a £5 deposit each and thought it was good value for 4 courses and stated you received a complimentary glass of wine. The food arrived and it was ok but no complimentary drinks and we spent around £20.00 on drinks, mostly soft drinks as we are not big drinkers. When the bill arrived it was £171, we couldn’t understand how has on the Christmas menu we received upon booking it stated £23.95 per person which would of worked out at 127.38 with drinks and a 10% service charge minus the £20 deposit so final bill should of been £107.38. The manager told us the price on the menu they gave us was wrong and it was £27.95 a per, well excuse me but that still doesn’t total £171 and they refused to show me the Christmas menu they gave me . I was adamant I was not paying this has they where trying to make money and rip off people who they thought had had a few to many , well you picked the wrong table and if they weren’t going to show me the menu they gave me I was going to go home and get it. The manager soon changed his mind and we paid the price it should of been but this completely spoiled our experience and we will definitely not be visiting again.

If I could do minus I would came here for a set menu. Service was shocking served hardly any food might get live aid involved will never come again. So everyone have a merry Christmas and a happy new year

Absolutely shocked !! Gone to pick my order up and waited whilst I’d seen someone in the kitchen area was cleaning their ears .. yes ears in a so called 4 rated star Restaurant. Absolutely disgusting I couldn’t believe it . I asked the manager what is he doing cleaning his ears in a restaurant kitchen area , and his reply was he’s not the chef, but then chef walked out with his coat on and asked what was the problem I explained and thought REALLY not properly professional to wear the right clothing for the Job. I asked for a refund but he refuses several times. Please don’t go to this DUMP !!!!!

We eat here once before, food was mediocre. Tamarind Table was shut this eve and we ordered a takeaway with no other choice. Backtracked on the 20% off for takeaway orders listed on their leaflets which they said had been withdrawn (but were sat in front of us as we waited). Staff were rude when we asked why were. Then offered half a Cobra to share. Family in front of us sat eating were also not happy with their service either. To top it off my partner saw them take three unused shots included with the bill topped the one that had been drunk with a clean one and set them back out. Please please please go to Tamarind Table.

Came here for the first time with my family. Tried the Arabic special Biryani! It was like nothing I ever tried before! The staff was super friendly and engaged with the children on the table. Over all was an excellent night would recommend everyone to come and try it. Thanks Rani!!!!

Visited Saturday 20th March, booked table for 7:30, was busy so had to wait 20 minutes, but despite the wait very friendly efficient staff, food was really good, would have rated 5 but for the delay which is possibly not the restaurants fault. Will go again

Booked a table for 9 adults & 1 junior for a special birthday meal of a family member recovering from a brain tumour. We were informed & refused Irish coffees & desserts because they did not have time because they were to busy & needed the table. We were not told we had a limited time allocated to the table when booking for this celebration. The service was absolutely atrocious & I will never ever return to this restaurant again for either a table or takeaway. They tried to fob us off with a cheap bottle of prosecco which cost £5 at Aldi which they were selling for £24.95 a saucer with a few chocolates on & a watered down rip off baileys shots. Disgusting! Fortunately there is many other Indian restaurants in this area that will be more than happy to accept a £300 booking.

Usually it's really nice but the service was awful, absolute chaos. The waiter slammed our drinks on the table we was asked twice had we ordered starters which we had...the main took nearly 40mins to come so we cancelled it, asked for our bill 5 times, and was over charged!!! Never again

Great place nicely decorated and good value excellent food with a great choice for everyone - nothing too much trouble and will change things on menu to suit your taste. Staff are really nice and very friendly. We travel from St. Helens to eat here it’s so good.

I went here for the first time tonight. Tuesday to Thursday includes free starters of onion bhajis, meat samosas or chicken something! Fantastic, responsive and kind service. Delicious food which they will put in in takeaway containers if you can't eat it all. Food and drinks all very reasonably priced. I definitely recommend it and hope to go again.

Our first visit to the Rani. The food was absolutely gorgeous and I have had some curries from all over Manchester. This was definitely the best I’ve ever had. Our family tried various dishes the owner recommended and each one was delicious. Well worth a visit. The prices are very reasonable. 👍🏻

Unfortunately our experience was not good, it was incredibly busy, I feel they had taken too many bookings considering it was the first week back after a long lockdown. It was a new and inexperienced team. We waited 50 minutes for our starter, many people were getting angry and in fact a fight broke out in the restaurant and the police had to attend. It was a 2 hour 15 minute experience for 2 courses and the food was nothing special anyway.

Travelling back late and has missed tea so stopped off in Atherton at Rani at about 8:30pm were seated straight away. Waiter was helpful with the menu as I’m a vegetarian and he recommended a vegi version of one of the dishes listed on the menu as a chicken dish. It was delicious. My friend ordered the biryani when it came out it looked like no other biryani I’d ever seen as it was layered with the rice in a fancy pattern. Very unique I thought. Will be back soon I’m sure

Reserved a table for tea here with my family. Drinks came flat and warm(the 2l bottles they where poured from weren’t even kept in a fridge) Ordered a lemonade small coke and small blackcurrant Cordial with tap water- This was £8.50 Just for those drinks...

Dont leave reviews often actually left an excellelent review at another place (casa nostra) so i didnt only write bad reviews (balance an all that). We tried to order, waiter says drinks first. So I ordered drinks, wine was okay, lager was flat and warm....

Went to Rani on recommendation of friends and it completely lived up to our raised expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, the service pleasant and prompt and, although I wasn't paying (lucky me!), the price looked very reasonable. We will definitely be going back.

Had a meal here, the food was gorgeous, definitely worth coming back for, there is a water feature on the wall and I took some photos of it, then the manager asked me why I was taking photos, I just replied that it was a nice feature but I felt uncomfortable after that. Booked in June for Christmas Eve!Arrived at 8pm didn't see any table reserved waiter didn't even check our reservation just hurriedly cleared a table near to the door of the toilets.A table became free over near the window so we asked if we could move to be told that people had booked in advance for the table....6 months apparently is not enough!Eventually managed to move waited and waited for service by which time the restaurant was only half full. Ordered poppadoms and one starter and ordered 3 curries as one of our party was not a big eater and wanted to share, to be told that we had to order a main each as it was Christmas Eve!Ok so waited 1 1/2hr still no starter asked several times to be told it was on its way. By this time we were all ready for our mains but had to wait again Nearly 2hrs later mains arrivedI ordered the sweet chicken just about to start when I pulled a very large black hair out!Called the waiter over to be told "What would you like me to do"Suggested they took it away and knocked it off the bill!Endless people were complaining throughout the nightWill not be returning service terrible staff don't seem interested!

Food was spot on. Problem was staff watched girlfriend and her son constantly. Made her feel very awkward. Not called for and very unnecessary. Shame it spoiled a lovely meal.

The vegetable Madras was beautiful, and the staff were very kind in accommodating us at such short notice on a Saturday night.
