Nawab in Mid Devon

Excellent as always, cannot recommend highly enough!

Having walked out of the Mumbai Kitchen, headed here for a very decent couple of popadoms, chutneys, a chicken biryani and a naan. Couple of pints of Cobra. All very pleasant. What’s not to like?

food was amazing!! but the delivery was an hour late!

This Indian Restaurant is the best around by far. The food is beautifully cooked with fantastic spices and careful attention. We absolutely love eating here and have done so for about 14 visits now. Highly recommended if you truly enjoy good curry.

Wrote to Maweb expressing our concerns regarding last visit to restaurant and didn’t even get a reply. Dinner for 8 family members one with shell fish allergy. Three times members of the family tried to tell waiter that there was one of the party with a severe shellfish allergy but waiter really did not want to know although one of the party had ordered a prawn curry. This could have been a live threatening incident but management not interested. Be aware if you have an allergy as restaurant does not care about any allergies .

We had a fabulous meal at Nawab as a large party of 14 people, for a surprise birthday celebration. Despite us probably being a bit loud and distracted while catching up with family, the staff were so attentive, welcoming and efficient. Every person at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The food was outstanding, very flavourful and served promptly and with style. I appreciate the chef accommodating a special request with no problem. We can’t have been the easiest table to serve tonight but everyone at Nawab helped make it a truly wonderful visit - massive thanks to all of the team ⭐️

Really poor service. Updated the app to say it was ready for collection 20 to 25 mins before I was given my food.

The food and the service are really great.

We recently visited this restaurant for the first time, and we were pleasantly impressed. The atmosphere was inviting, with clean surroundings and tasteful décor. The staff were attentive and provided helpful insights about the menu, making us feel well taken care of. We started with the prawn puri and then paneer shashlik, both of which were absolutely delicious! The strawberry pudding was nice for dessert. I wasn't entirely sure about the liqueur coffee, as I had asked for brandy but it seemed to have an almond flavouring instead. However, overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be returning!

Whilst the food is not bad the staff here are absolutely dreadful and very unwelcoming! The only person who was friendly was the blonde haired lady with the glasses. She actually talked and smiled at us and made feel welcome. As for the rest of the waiting staff well! Made us feel so unwelcome and as though wee were intruding on their time! Whilst there was 8 of us we were out on a family get together! At one point one waiter was taking drinks order and disappeared before we had finished! No smiles no interaction nothing. If that is how you treat your paying customers then you can go do one!!!! Never been made to feel so unwelcome in a restaurant before!!! More interested in getting us out the door! Even put on the air conditioning to make out feel colder when we were the last table still eating in that section!!!! DREADFUL!

This is my first time in nawab and it Won't be last. Best in town for a reason. Very helpfull staffs. Very attentive. Food was very delicious and nan bread is the best. We spend nearly 3 hour.

Came here with my nan for her birthday. Staff were very patient with how long we took to order and that we showed up a little late. The food is gorgeous I do recommend as a good experience even for those with simpler pallets.

As normal a great welcome and smiling face's. A welcome conversation then offered pomperdoms and a drink. Then a chance to select your food . You have a small wait for your food as it has to be cooked fresh . I always have tandoori mixed grill chilli rice and sagaloo. I can't eat all my dinner so the staff are happy to do me a doggie bag and that is my dinner tomorrow. The floor managers are Curtis's and are keen to help you with all situations. The man that served us was rude, obnoxious and treated us like his sole goal was to get us in and out as quickly as possible. He also served us the wrong order. We didn't complain or ask for a replacement because it felt very much like he wanted to get the customers out so he could go home. We spent less than an hour and a half there and had booked the table at 7.30. We won't go back again!

First time eating here, found the staff rude (apart from blond lady), food was OK at the start! Poppadoms and starters OK. But main courses were far over spiced. My sons dish whilst saying it was 2 chillies was vindaloo hot, my balti was far hotter than it should be which was 1 chillies. Why do some restaurants think everything has to blow your heads off. Then when after we mentioned our concern, we could hear staff mocking us.

Fitted us in at short notice. Restaurant was buzzing. Staff very attentive and polite. Food was amazing. Right amount of spiciness and very tasty. Great value for money. Would eat here again.

Mrs orders her Indian food from here unfortunately I myself don’t like spice so if I order I get fries with a cheese naan which I must say are still very nice but the food she orders for herself she loves & eats it all, whatever she can’t happen to eat she has the next day for lunch or Somthing

We've been regular customers of Nawab for a long time now. Never had a bad meal... never even had a bad dish. Food is delicious time and time again. It's a little bit pricey, and sometimes can be quite loud in there, but these are very minor grievances considering how good the food is and how attentive the staff are. Very glad we have this establishment in our town!

Fabulous food..chicken tikka masala, chicken bhuna, garlic rice, mushroom rice etc!! Absolutely scrummy and very reasonable prices too!! Next time we will go for the dine in experience

This is quite simply the best Indian restaurant we have ever visited. Modern, classy, reassuringly busy. The staff are great, happy to chat and are very friendly. The food is perfect, with a good choice of dishes. When in tivvy you have to try this place.

Absolute gem of a restaurant. Was just visiting Tiverton for one night. The food was incredible - I've eaten a lot of Indian food both here and in India, and this one will stick in the memory.

Always amazing food. Never need to go anywhere else. If the family who visit from Kent are down they always want to go here when they visit.

Lovely food chips a bit cold but no probs would defo recommend

Food is ok but too sweet. Dishes not spicy. Well presented. Staff are indifferent. £100+ bill with no please or thank you. If you’re handing complimentary drinks out to people it has to be all tables, it’s a good touch but needs to be offered to all, at the end of the day it costs pennies. Staff do not make customers feel special but instead feel insignificant. Open the door for leaving customers, don’t ignore them. Little touches mean a lot and go a long way. There are other restaurants!!

Fabulous Menu of entrees, sides, appetizers and more. Friendly staff and great service. Enjoyed the experience to the max and will certainly return each and every time I'm in Tiverton. Personally enjoyed the Nawab Special entre. Delightful!!

A group of us enjoyed an evening here. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. Everyone enjoyed their starters and main meals.

Food was absolutely delicious but when paying our bill there was no thankyou no nothing. Just basic manners didn't exist. Very disappointing

From the minute we walked in it was as if we were completely unwelcome. Not one smile or hello, the whole time we were there was awkward and sadly the food wasn't good enough to make up for it.

Amazing food, great flavours, textures, spices - wide choice.

Below average curry , not fresh or spicy and bland , vindaloo had no heat whatsoever, place was packed so thought it might be fresh at least but must be very old batches made and warmed up , I know Tiverton people don’t usually like heat but this place wasn’t even flavourful and had a funny plasticky taste as tho some chemicals has leaked into the food or some meat has been washed with something it shouldn’t have done

After being placed next to a large loud party , we asked to be moved has noise was unbearable, to only be placed right next to another large party that were worse then the first , they were rudely shouting and very inconsiderate to the other diners . Spoilt our experience has was so loud even the waiter couldn’t hear us properly . We couldn’t have a social conversation without shouting . After 2 ibruprohen and great debate we will sadly not be returning . If you’re looking to go out for a nice quiet meal with family /friends and would like to have any kind of conversation without shouting at each other has so noisy . I wouldn’t recommend you go here .avoid !

An amazing experience. Such kind hearted people. Such a generous place. The entire road had lost its electricity and most places had to close. Nawab stayed open and welcomed in anyone who was willing to stay. They put candles on the tables and the whole restaurant was lit by only candle light. They then took everyone’s orders and went all the way to their other restaurant (dawat) and cooked the food there and bought it back to nawab for everyone to enjoy. It was such a cozy atmosphere with just the candles and of course amazing food as always. This just showed how kind they are and didn’t let a power outage ruin anyone’s night! 100/10

We (7) had a Great evening. Lovely Food (main thing !!!!!!) Friendly, Knowledgeable Staff. Clean. (Inc Loos !) Good Prices. 2 of us are VEGAN 💚 and we were well catered for. The Waiter knew which dishes we couldn't have (ghee etc) which gave us confidence. THANKS 🙏 We shall be back.

Just had a take away delivery to Dulverton and it was the best Indian I have had since I can remember. The chicken was tender, the mushroom rice was perfect and the nann bread was delicious. I recommend this place 100% from someone who has had Indian food in most places in the South West.

Having food delivered earlier than expected was a bonus - thank you! Excellent food enjoyed by all, Nawab is always my first choice for Indian food in Tiverton.

Delivery was running late but wasn't us this until we queried it, new time given still late

Booked for 7.30pm didn't get our meal till 9pm. It was a long time to wait. Didn't get an apology for the long wait.

Order received 2hrs 25 minutes after order. Was told it was in the bag waiting for driver 25 mins before delivered food was nice but cold on delivery had to microwave it.

TAKEAWAY ORDERED VIA THE APP Oh dear. Saturday night and the restaurant was obviously having a very bad time. I ordered through the app, waited the 30 mins it said for the food to be cooked. Turned up at the restaurant to find lots of people waiting (and annoying the people sitting for a meal). I waiting another 20 mins or more (I don’t think they even started to cook my order until after I turned up to collect it). I felt sorry for them as they seemed to be in a little disarray. I was willing to let that go as their food is usually lovely. But the order was no where near their usual standard. I ordered the ‘signature’ Lamb Goan Vindaloo which was ‘cooked with whole green chillies’. However, the pieces of beautifully slow cooked lamb turned out to be swimming in a nasty over sweet soup which i swear hardly saw a chilli let alone a whole green one. I don’t like sweet food and i struggled to eat it. I felt so let down. They were probably having a nightmare of an evening but they managed to pass it on. You’ll probably have a good experience but i shall struggle to go back now.

Ordered, was told a wait time of an hour and 30 mins. 3 hours late no food, when we tried to get our money back they refused to refund us and never delivered the food. Had to go to the shop to get a refund and they still tried to refuse.

It actually arrived at 8pm....They should NOT over promise, just be honest with your customers. I would suggest that this is NOT the place for a takeaway especially if you are hungry as well... We WON'T be using them again so BE WARNED...

Fantastic restaurant, lucky to have this place in Tiverton. Always a good meal.

We had ordered a chicken madras, garlic rice and poppadoms to take away, the rice was overcooked and watery. The madras was bland and watery too. Real shame as usually it's good from here, but from now on we shall be ordering from Mumbai kitchen.

Couldn’t fault the food one bit. Really good and flavourful. Only down side was it took over 1 1/2 hours to get to us, but was a Saturday night and was worth the wait. Would highly recommend.

I hate complaining as the food from here is normally lovely and we have eaten in and had takeaway many times however the delivery is always so hit and miss! Tonight we waited 2 hours for our delivery and I had to call twice. When it arrived it wasn’t overly hot and my partners curry was full of onions which wasn’t stated on the menu as he wouldn’t normally order it as he doesn’t like onions! We also found bones in our curry. No apology or anything in return for the long wait of delivery! It’s really put us off ordering again especially as we pay £7 delivery!

This place is a jewel. The food is beautiful and every mouthful has many nuances of flavour. Staff are polite and aware of your needs. Clean, crisp and welcoming decor. Wonderful relaxing atmosphere. A great experience and will be returning. Service is outstanding.

The food was absolutely fantastic, the service was great and the atmosphere was fab. We went out with friends who live in the local town and this Indian is an absolute credit to the Town, we all had different curries and all thoroughly enjoyed them. Would 110% recommend and actually would say it’s a must that you visit. Well done Nawab - five stars from us!

I don't normally order vindaloo. But Mac recommended it and said that the Lamb Goan Vindaloo was NOT all about heat. I'm just so glad that I had it. Absolutely wonderful. Now my favourite dish here. Staff all excellent and being able to sit outside was a massive bonus. Highly recommend a visit here!

Really tasty food. Went on Tuesday and had the set meal deal which was great value for money. Stagf were very friendly and attentive. They took a long time to bring us our bill which is only a slight issue. Otherwise would highly recommend.
