Indian Lounge in Mid Devon

This has to be the poorest excuse for an indian takeaway i have ever known the food is vile, The chef needs to go look at the recent reviews. When we walked in it was a cold unwelcoming experience waiting for the slop to be cooked. Tasteless watery, hardly any chicken and what there was was disgusting. How this place is still trading is beggars belief. Used to be a great place now the worst takeaway restaurant i have ever known.

I've eaten curries all over the UK from the Shetland islands to the Isle of Wight but this has to be the worst slop that has ever spilled onto a plate. The Tikka Massala tasted like it has soap in it, the chicken (??) was hard and dry, the Korma was so disgusting even my dog wouldn't touch it. The rice was over boiled, the nann bread was like an old slipper and the service was so disgustingly rude. Everything about this so called food experience was wrong. Avoid at all cost or waste your money and get an inedible excuse for a curry.

I’d had takeaway from here about five years ago and it was very nice, tonight I have bought takeaway here again and when I paid with cash the cashier put my cash in his wallet and gave me change from his wallet. Who is he ripping off? Was he the owner tickling his books? Or was he just staff and diddling the owner? I thought I’d probably not mention this unless the food was really awful and it was. The chicken was very pink and very stringy and rubbery, it seemed more like Turkey to me. My meal cost five times as much as a McDonald’s and I’ve had to throw it away because I’m not going to eat something that certainly doesn’t appear to be what I intended to buy. I will not be eating here again!

Being local and ordering on the phone regularly to collect, I thought the staff would be more pleasant. Every time they see rude and unattentive on the phone, even when paying they seem to find it an inconvenience. The food is good, but everytime I go in prices seem to change so much. I’m sure there are better establishments out there so I’d probably avoid, and look for somewhere a little more friendly.

Utterly revolting! Food was way too salty. The chicken was over cooked and chewy. Half the order was missing. Avoid at all costs!!

First experience of eating here and food was very disappointing indeed. Visited with friends who said it used to be good but the whole group agreed that it was not up to usual standard at all. Would not return or recommend to others.

this used to be a very good restaurant, but unfortunately it has gone down hill now it has different people running it. the food was ok, but the service and presentation was poor and drinks were very expensive. needless to say we will not be using it again.

Great place, food excellent, clean, family friendly. I will advise they do home delivery, good value buffet on the Sunday.

Lovely food and staff were friendly. But the place was very plain, no music no atmosphere. Didn’t feel like a restaraunt at all especially an Indian one. Felt as if staff were listening to your conversations are it was very very quiet.

From riches to rags, don't bother! The poor Hygiene rating is one reason to not bother. How I wish the old team were back, it was top class then.

Once unquestionably a really good Indian restaurant, now a good takeaway that also has tables should someone ask to eat in.Food was good, everything else pretty poor. No staff with a clue how to wait tables, no heating on until we asked, had to beg for drinks, ask to order.Such a shame.

Lovely restaurant, staff pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Service was excellent and food delicious. Good value for money and not rushed. Sat having drinks after the meal was finished.

We've had a couple of takeaway from here, but both times they arrived luke warm, we had to re-heat them in the microwave and oven, so we thought we would pop along and eat in to see if it was any better. The food is very nice, nothing outstanding though, we had quite a wait to order, and our food took a very long time to arrive, and again it wasn't very hot, we sat downstairs and the kitchen is upstairs, so wondering how long it took to get to our table once served from the kitchen, and if this was the reason our meal wasn't piping hot, perhaps this is a contributing factor to the takeaways too? We'll use the other Indian in Crediton in future for both takeaways and dining in.

My husband and I stopped by here for a meal on a Saturday night and whilst the staff were friendly and the food was good, we had to wait an age for our food to arrive. It became very clear this was because the kitchen was prioritising its takeaway customers - there was a constant flow of food coming out but none of it to us! I would suggest the staff either pay more attention to guests dining in or consider going 100% with the takeaway market.

ordered a take away over the telephone,for me to collect,produced my debit card which was snatched from my hand from the manager behind the counter and was swiped without asking.had to take food back to restaurant as the starters where still frozen and un cooked,used to be a very good place to eat in and takeaway but changed management has seen its sad demise....

La India Lounge, nuestro Restaurante indio local y para llevar. El menú es excelente, con todos los favoritos usuales y algunas sorpresas inusual! ! Prueba el pescado al curry y champiñones arroz o Paneer Tikka Masala y cebolla Arroz - increíble. Todo lo que hemos comido ha sido genial. Siempre comer en como el personal son siempre tan educado y realmente no quiero que disfrute de su experiencia.

Esta fue nuestra tercera visita y en cada ocasión tuvimos una comida muy sabrosa. Todos los estándares están en el menú, pero hay interesantes de pecials imaginativo y'. Proyecto de cerveza es en cobra. El personal es amable y servicial. No llevar así, que también era muy popular en el que demuestre la noche de nuestra visita. Altamente recomendado.

Tuvimos una gran comida en el salón indio y lo que era genial era si pedir al personal para condimentar cualquier salsa que están dispuestos a hacerlo y con un servicio de 10 / 10

Comida agradable con la familia, todo era perfecto en todos los caliente y un servicio estupendo, el personal muy amable, no podía hacer lo suficiente para nosotros.

Mi esposa y yo hemos disfrutado cada vez excelente comida y servicio que nos han visitado india de salón. Mi esposa es vegetariana y sus necesidades están magníficamente atendidos.

Ordered takeaway to eat for three people plus some to freeze for one other person to have another day.

La nourriture est correcte mais peu épicée. Cadre moderne pas du tout dans l'ambiance indienne. Éviter la salle du bas.

I ordered a chicken curry , came 20 minutes early Its was one of the worst ever Flavourless, watery . I called the restaurant for a replacement okay I've been asked to return the Curry ... I was really disappointed and no value for money.I believe Tesco take away will be a better choice for my next order

Such a great visit, they always give 100% service every time, I was not sure what to have this evening but Ryan came up trumps again. If he every says "leave it to me" never doubt him, his choices are amazing... Thanks to everyone for a fab evening!!

Just had one of the best meals in a very long time.Buffet night on Wednesday night is thoroughly recommended.The staff could not have given a warmer welcome (which seems to be so hard for many restaurants these days) The food was delicious and the service was really great.Superb value and can't wait to go back.

My wife and I were entertaining my daughter and son in law and decided to go here as it's just up the road from us.and as we have had there takeaways quite alot and loved them sounded a good bet .we arrived to friendly staff with welcoming smile and hello our meals did take a while to come to us but we waited patiently. And we really enjoyed them when they arrived. We just thought that it was a little rushed to the final bill arriving and would have likedone to have had more time to savour the meal..but nice enough place and would recommend to everybody who enjoys an Indian curry night..

I've eaten here many times and have always had an excellent meal. I just wanted to also praise the staff for making my experience even better with the attentive way they make sure that you get the meal you want by taking the time to go through the "strength " of each dish and making sure that my dietary requirements were met. I've been eating at Crediton Tandoori for more than 5 years and never have they disappointed me, however one night God knows what was going through my head I decided to eat at the Indian Lounge. This restaurant. I was so so disappointed. The place was busy and the staff greeted me very nicely but after I sat down, their main priority were the takeaways. I could see other customers (who were sat down, not takeaway) around me getting rather restless as the staff were too do used on the takeaways. However as it got busier and busier they even started getting the takeaways wrong and 2 even came back complaining and had their money refunded back to them. After 15 minutes wait the waiter finally comes to me and asks me what I would like for a drink. More takeaways come and by this time everything is a havoc. Yes the Crediton tandoori gets super busy aswell but somehow they have that magic in them that makes there work go smoothly. They prioritise both their customers that are eating in and their takeaways. Another 15 minutes went past and I still hadn't got my drink, which was just a lemonade. I stood up and walked to the waiter and said complained and went out as I could not stand being there anymore. Walking down the road I went to the gem Crediton Tandoori and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. They were very busy aswell, but after a minute of me sitting down the waiter came and asked me what drink I would like and in 45 minutes my food was busy (which is a good time, as their takeaways were flying in and all tables were filled up) to everyone new in the Crediton area, if there is a restaurant you want to go to then Crediron Tandoori is the one. I'm not saying you shouldn't go to Indian Lounge as many of my friends have had good experiences, but Crediton tandoori is defo worth the money and the service is excellent

Delivery was 15 minutes quicker than advised, very nice food.

Got a takeaway from here ... starters of salmon and fish kufte both dry and bland. Mains both very oily.....prawns chewy and all very very salty. Disappointed as very expensive too.

Its a really nice restaurant and take-away, quite modern, no dodgy wallpaper and no sitar twanging. Food was nice, reasonable portions, the nan bread wasnt so good but the girls enjoyed the poppudoms.

this is a great curry house. we visittted last week with friends and it was yumptious. we had there little daughter with us and they could not have done more to make her welcome too. only surprise, at 8 pm on a Saturday eve we were the only diners

Went here last week for a second time. The food was so amazing just like the first time I went here and my family all enjoyed it a lot too. The staff were friendly and helped us to choose different dishes, all the recommended food was spot on. I will be returning again :)

We thought we would try this local restaurant for a change. Friendly staff and warm welcome. Food however was not great given the chicken dish was semi-raw.

Kept waiting 10 mins. Food,very tasty but too much sauce in each dish. Did not enjoy Tara daal as bland. Would order again.

Really disappointing. So much liquid and seriously bright red that it looked disgusting, like blood. It must have been full of artificial colour. It tasted awful, truly bland and now I have an instant headache which I'm convinced is the added colour. I've eaten many curries, and this was poor. It was not good value for money, and threw most of it away. Crediton could really do with a decent curry house.

This was the worst curry I have ever eaten!! Water filled with no taste!! Rubbery chicken with no resemblance to the dish it is meant to be. Full of water!! Would strongly discourage anyone from going here

This place is fantastic regardless of eating in or having a take away the food is fantastic.We had a boxing day buffet here and releyed on Ryan to do a mix for us and wow did he come up with a cracker,don't be afraid to try something different get his advice and ask your friends what they like.When i had my stag night my stepson contacted Ryan to sort out the food and again it was fantastic so do yourselth a favor call in and enjoy cheers Tom.

Me and my friend recently visited this Indian and we will certainly be returning. It's absolutely amazing, especially the butter chicken which isn't on the menu but they still cooked it for me. The staff were friendly and there was a great atmosphere.

Without the worst curry ever, and I've eaten a lot of currys, ordered a madras with a garlic naan bread,, first the curry was thin and tasteless with tough chicken, the naan was just a plain naan with garlic butter on,, very disappointed with the meal,, well "meal" was probably the wrong word to use perhaps " pound shop value ready meal" would be a better description.

One of the best Indian Restaurants in the area. Friendly service, lovely fresh food, great value. Definitely worth a visit.

First time we've been here, decided to pop in and get some food on our way home. Staff very polite. Food was delicious. So fresh and full of flavour. Well presented dishes. I loved their onion bhajji! Yummy. Will definitely order from here again.

Go here alot as the food is the best I've had. Waiters are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We always go here with our doctor friend who loves this place. Maybe one day I will not drive so I can sample the shots. Ha ha . See you soon

We went for dinner one evening. I do not like Indian restaurants that smell of curry as I only like very mild ones without the smell. This Indian restaurant smelt lovely. It smelt of cooking as expected but not of curry. Just how I like it. The food was lovely and served hot. The staff were very friendly and took time to talk to you. We shall return!

I order from here quite often and don't normally have any issues however the food was delivered 40 mins earlier than I had booked and we were not ready to eat.... the food was good though.

Just enjoyed a very good buffet for a surprisingly small cost at this Indian restaurant. We had poppadoms, a substantial starter, the usual help-yourself buffet and drinks for less than £12.50 a head. We were offered ice cream too. The food was good and the waiter most attentive.

Ordered the chicken tava which we have every week but this evening the curry was so hot that I couldn't eat it. Very disappointed as the only reason I have that curry is because I know it's not too hot. Paid £7.95 for a curry that went in the bin

Terrible food this time round. Microwave popadom, soggy bahji sat in an inch of oil, bland tandoori chicken, watery daal. Utter failure. So dissapointed

We use the Indian Lounge a lot and have never been disappointed, whether we have take out or eat in. Very friendly staff, wide range of dishes and always well cooked. The Indian Lounge is a modern Indian restaurant inside that wouldn't look out of place in the swanky parts of London. Reasonable prices for great food.

Apart from a very rude delivery driver everything else was great.

None of my request's were done. Only asked for extra garlic on two dishes and three pieces of another. Poor show.

My order turned up that fast i think they forgot to cook it, this is my first experience with just eat and more than likely my last , all the food was cold , my onion Bazis had half the content s of the fryer still on it and in the bag , absolutely digesting

The food was amazing. The staff were lovely. My friend couldn't decide what to have and so the waiter said the chef would cook something special for her and asked her what her favourite flavours were. The dish he cooked was fantastic. All our food was delicious and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I came to this restaurant on a Saturday evening with friends. Upon entering the establishment I was greeted by a polite young member of staff named Rebecca. She and her colleague waited on us the entire night constantly making sure everything was in place for an enjoyable stress free meal. The establishment was extremely clean and tidy and the smell of the food was incredible. When ordering, my friend asked for a certain dish, unsure of how spicy it was. Rebecca did ask on preference on spices and made a special request that the same dish be made less spicy by the chef. This was a nice touch. Food was cooked fresh and tasted amazing and the service was very quick and to a high standard. The prices was reasonable for such a tasty meal. When leaving the restaurant the manager on the bar poured free shots for the six of us which was very generous. It's safe to say I will definitely be returning for another wonderful meal here.

Having lived in the South east and Spain, you are extremely spoilt with takeaways and foreign foods. Me and my family have always been regulars to the Indian Lounge for a couple of years and it's definitely our favourite down here. Recently me and my boyfriend came in for the Sunday buffet and the food was delicious! The staff are amazing always happy, even when they're busy with people constantly ordering. They always put customers welfare first. Amazing place and even my boyfriend had always gone to the other one down the road before now and he says he'll definitely be returning to the Indian lounge... Another amazing bonus if you order to collect you get 10% off!

How overrrated the word 'excellent' can so often be but in the case of The Indian Lounge in Crediton it is thoroughly deserved. From Sept to March the 3 league teams representing Crediton Squash having played their home match go to the indian Lounge with the opposing team for a superb curry dinner. The biggest problem being that the opposition know how good The Indian Lounge is and always send out their strongest teams as noone wants to miss out. He might not be the tallest gentleman to greet you but I can assure you that the friendly quietly spoken Rahan will look after you perfectly. From that first taste of the perfectly chilled COBRA to the time you leave having enjoyed the delicious clean tasting cuisine you will not regret a moment and further will soon be impatient to return, just like us squash players, our friends and families. There are many worse addictions and few more healthy. We highly recommend The Indian Lounge ... regular clients for about 3 years.

I cannot say how much I love this place, I use to always go to the other restaurant in Crediton but glad I gave the Indian Lounge a go. The staff are amazing and cannot do enough for you even when they are busy doing take aways. The food is to die for, the flavours are out of this world, and such a big portion too. The best thing I found out as well as they deliver outside of Crediton added bonus. If you have never eaten here, you must give it a go!

Me and my girlfriend Frances went there for change and was not disappointed, great service and food also the price. We was there on Tuesday night which was quite, but we are going back on the buffet night which is on Wednesdays, value for money....

Have always been a regular to the Indian Lounge. Its great for both takeaway and dinning. Great atmosphere and the staff are an absolute delight. Highly recommended!
