Great meal last night with family

I threw it up straight after eating it. It smelt off and tasted funky but I thought because it's meant to be sour that was the way it was meant to be. Stupid me. Spent all evening throwing up. The pashwari naan was burnt but nice. The other four dishes we ordered were ok. One dish was essentially plain yoghurt with melted peanut butter then some chicken in it. Another said not spicy but it was extremely spicy. Lemon rice was nice.

We are glad ! The food is very tasty, the service is fast, the atmosphere is calm and pleasant, I recommend it! 😊

Food was cold when it arrived.... again. Items missing from the order... again! We have so many issues with Tava we are just going to give up in future. We spend £50 a time and it's just not worth it. The food isn't even great when it arrives. A watery Jalfrezi and a Chicken Tikka Korma that was just plain chicken breast and tasteless. Wish we could get a decent Indian in the village.... but after 4 years, we just give up now. What a shame!

Excellent Xmas meal with family today : prawn cocktail starters / Turkey was tasty with all vegetables / Xmas pudding / mince pies / vanilla ice cream / chocolates. Friendly staff served quickly good value did not dissapoint. 👌👏🍽 Catered for children & nice atmosphere there. ✅️

First time and very impressed. Not quite the same as our usual favourite dishes but every bit as good. Portions are large, good quality ingredients and piping hot. Recommended.

Really couldn't fault this restaurant. Decor modern, clean and tidy. Staff are responsive and helpful if you struggle with what each dish is . The menu is clear and helpfully indicates how hot or mild the dishes are. Food is well presented and hot. The portions are generous and I came away rather full! Although it was early evening midweek there was a steady flow of customers and by the looks of it they also do takeaway. Prices were reasonable. Yet another place to recommend.

I made an order for delivery and was told 1hr 20mins which I accepted. After 2hrs I tried to phone but couldn't get through I eventually spoke to someone after two and half hours and was told the order hadn't been put through to the kitchen and they would do it right away. Although the person on the phone was very apologetic the person he spoke to for advice was very arrogant and not at all apologetic! I received my order a total of 3hrs later and did expect at least a free item for inconvenience but to no avail. As always the meal was good although the Naan bread was burnt but the attitude of senior staff who could be heard on the phone has really put me off ordering again!

Honestly the best biriyani I've ever had plus the curry sauces were amazing. Even smaller things such as the condiments for the poppadoms were far better than anything I've had before. Highly recommend Tava and will definitely be returning!

I come here every weekends. Great food and atmosphere. The staff Danny, Farhan, Mez and everyone else are are always friendly and there to take care of the customers.

An extensive food menu, but no low/no alcohol beer or lager on the drinks menu. The dishes we chose were tasty, but served like warm. Our naan and others we saw had a pool of ghee on top of them. My husband would not try ours: I just ate the fluffy bits around the edge. There was atmosphere in the restaurant and the service was fine; but there was nothing special to make us want to return.

We are on holiday in Holt. We eat Indian meals at home regularly. This restaurant was one of the best. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is beautifully cooked. Especial favourite were the onion bhajis.

great soundtrack was singing along all night, food was absolutely great couldve eaten it forever, perfect naan breads and one waiter faym was very nice and an absolute pleasure to be around would rate him five stars alone wish I could’ve just taken him home, restaurant was spotless

There was a lovely waiter, Mehrab. Who went above and beyond for my autistic children that were refusing to eat! promised them balloons if they finished. Lovely guy. I could kiss him!

Pre ordered takeaway food from Tava. I ordered food that I knew very well so as to compare with what I had before. Well I have to say I was very impressed. The food was as good as anything I have had before. The service was top notch. I pre ordered for 19:30 hrs. The food arrived hot and exactly on time. Will be my go to from now on. Looking forward to visiting the restaurant soon too. We'll done guys. ✔️

Food was perfect! The only reason it’s not given 5 stars is due to portion size! The chips were only half full, and the korma tub was not full, but other than that the taste of the food was perfect! they just need to maybe make the portion of chips bigger to feed a few more people?

A really outstanding meal. We had the dansaac and the Welsh lamb balti. Highly recommended for those who love genuine Indian food accompanied with superb hospitality-10/10.

We chanced upon this place, late on a Sunday evening. Courteous reception, full choice of an extensive menu, timely service, candlelight, authentically delicious Indian cuisine and we were waited on by a delightful, entertaining waiter with star quality. Will definitely return and recommend wholeheartedly!

We were staying in Farndon for 3 nights in an Air BnB breaking our journey home from Scotland to Wiltshire. We ordered via their website and my husband went to collect. One of the nicest curries we've had in a while. We had Onion Bhajee starters, my husband had Chicken Madras and I had Chicken Himalayan. We also had a Keema Nan and Peshwari Nan. All of the food was very tasty, hot and enjoyable. I would certainly recommend Tava if you're staying in the area and fancy an Indian takeaway.

Ordered take away it arrived in good time. Chips were inedible they were chewy and felt a day old. Naan bread was burnt. Tikka was salty. Chicken was the only pleasant thing. This morning I am unwell which does not surprise me.

We regularly stay in the area (Coddington) and this is our go to takeaway. Easy to order online, amazing choice of items on the menu. Large portions of extremely tasty Indian dishes from the standard to some new dishes we’ve never had before. Staff very friendly and order prepared fairly quickly, even for a Friday evening.

We've been going here for years. It's always been great. We actually live closer to Chester, but prefer Tava. Service is always great, the food is lovely. Great chutney tray,amazing samosa's. I like the spicy end of the scale, but their Vindaloo is one of the best I've ever had. Hot, noy too hot, but extremely tasty. A special.shout out to Sab who has looked after us for as long as I can remember.

Myself and my family came last weekend for a meal which was gorgeous and the service was amazing. However, I would like to take this opportunity to thank a lovely young lady who provided a high standard of service as she was always there to help and was very friendly from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. I can’t thank her enough as it was our first time coming to this restaurant. I think her name was Amy or Abi

Amazing food and service, a kind young server (didn't get his name) was very helpful when I asked for advice as I couldn't decide between 2 dishes, then another server Danny was very good and attentive to us, a pleasure. We ordered methi gost lamb and badami chicken was so good, good portions and such reasonable prices for drinks too much cheaper than our local Indians. We will definitely be back on a future visit!

Lovely little restaurant. Firstly service was really good. The gentlemen were courthouse and everything was timely. This is my 4th visit while working out of Wrexham and is always my Monday restaurant to go to to start off the week perfectly. Food is really good. Favourite so far is the Lamb Zafrani. Lovely creamy sauce and lamb is tender. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic Indian food! We thought we'd kick start the bank holiday by treating ourselves to a curry takeout on Friday- and we're so glad we did. It arrived quickly and they even threw in an extra dish (vegetable curry) after a misunderstanding about delivery. We had lamb biryani, lamb korahi and prawn Kerala - along with naans and onion bhajis: everything was delicious! Full of flavour but not overly hot/spicy which was great. The flavours seemed to be authentic/traditional style cooking - not like some Indians where all the curries seem to taste the same (overly sweet or greasy). These dishes were not that at all, just full of flavour and all tasted so different from eachother. We will definitely be ordering from there again next time we decide to treat ourselves to takeaway.

Not great at all if I'm truly honest.

I visited the Tarva as many of my work colleagues recommended this place , I’m not a big fan of Indian food but after coming to this amazing establishment I am converted to the sweet spicy classic Indian flavours this wonderful place has to offer . For starters I had chicken chat , which was the most tender tasting most chicken Iv ever had the pleasure of putting my my mouth, this chicken was perfectly caramelised clearly the chef making this dish knows his way around a chicken or 2 My main course was king prawn jalfrezi with mushroom rice , and well the sauce for the jalfrezi was sensational, a really well balanced, well seasoned sauce clearly a lot of time and effort was put into this , not overpowering at all . And the rice well That’s was soo fluffy and light mushrooms cooked to perfection To be honest I have eaten out in many different restaurants around the world and why I haven’t seen this place in the good food magazine I have no idea because this food is on par with any Michelin standard restaurant never mind going to London for a fine dining experience come to the Tarva in holt , you won’t be disappointed I shall be visiting again 100 percent right little gem of a place

I'm not a great fan of Indian cooking but mine hosts in Farndon, Cheshire recommended Tava just on the the other banks of the River Dee in Holt, thus in Wales so I decided to give it a try. After a rather long day, I was quite hungry and ready for a new culinary experience. My initial impression was of a good, clean, thriving establishment with an extensive menu and friendly, welcoming staff.. With the help of a waiter, I chose three courses. The first, crispy papadoms with a platter of 5 or 6 relishes was a good experience and settled my immediate hunger. The second, onion bhagi, was 3 lumps of soggy, tasteless, undistinguishable dough. Thankfully I had some relishes left to moisturise and add taste to them but I gave up after forcing down one and a half. My main course, lamb Tikka Biryani, which on my ordering enquiry my waiter described as a dish of tender, marinated pieces of lamb was presented in a large bowl of semi dry rice and contained 10 small pieces of charred, tough meat, the particular animal origin of which I could not discern. I gave up eating and summoned another waiter, quietly expressing my dissatisfaction and asking him to enquire why the meat was so brittle and charred. After waiting some 10 or 15 minutes, and being noticeably observed and ignored by several staff members, I called for my bill, which was brought by yet another unconnected member of staff, no apology for the ruined dish forthcoming. Not wishing to cause any scene, i again expressed my total disappointment and paid the bill of £37, which did include a bottle of decent Chardonnay, that and the popadums being the only enjoyable part of the meal. I now see from other reviews that my experience was not unique. I only wish that I had not given in to mine host's suggestion and eaten elsewhere in Farndon or Holt. It will be a long time before I risk another Indian venture.

Have been ordering from this restaurant for some months now, i can not fault the food and service. The staff are very friendly , i try a new dish each time, and found them all very tasty, the naan bread is to die for.

After several poor experiences and the last delivery taking 2.5 hours to arrive we won’t be using Tava again.

Avoid Avoid Avoid Sub standard food, tasteless, and poor service. Waited 2 hrs and 15 minutes to be given a chicken dish instead of paneer ..not ideal when your wife is vegetarian. Onion bhajis were probably the worst I've ever eaten, tasted of flour, lamb was tough, and all delivered cold. Poor ingredients prepared carelessly. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.

Habe lammkottlets bestellt größter Schrott da war kein Fleisch mehr dran es war wirklich das letzte!! Soßen haben kein Geschmack Einzige Frische war der Salat Döner Fleisch kein Geschmack keine gewürzte Siehe auf den Bildern so wurde mir das gebracht also ich kenne es anders. Schade

Had a late night cheeky takeaway and staff went above and beyond to get takeaway to us. Onion Bhajis and Tandoori chicken were delicious. Would highly recommend!!!!

We went here Wednesday with family. Staff were friendly. But the place looked a bit tatty & run down and in need of a freshen up, it looked like it was stuck in the 70,s The toilets were not very nice either. a broken door...

We have used Tava for many years but after our last experience we are looking for another Curry house. Takeaway meals were very poor with a lack of flavour and attention to detail. Very bland with poor quality meat.

Worst Indian takeaway I’ve even eaten. Completely without seasoning let alone spice. Swimming in oil which I wouldn’t really have minded but for the lack of any flavour whatsoever. Realise it’s difficult at this time but don’t sell food at a price like this which...

Very disappointing I had one of there loyalty cards which was filled took it to tava hoping to get a discount and the person behind the counter said that they have changed the cards. So they replaced the card but refused the discount will not...
