The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Indian food

Best Indian restaurant in all of West Lothian. We have been in just two of us, in large groups, Christmas Day and take away. Each time the service is always great and food lovely. Only Indian restaurant we eat at.

You very well might miss this from outside as it's hidden behind some stairs, but it's worth going in - food is fantastic (saag paneer is incredible) and very reasonable. No alcohol but BYOB allowed.

Great place all round. You just have to be prepared to sort your own drinks out from the bar.

Edit Again. Theyve screwed it up AGAIN. 1 star food hygeine now and resorted to Pataks AGAIN. Wont order again. Instead, if you're happy to collect, go to Madras in Norton. Its run by Jay, the chef at Masala 10 years ago. He even remembered my name and street when I asked for it with extra garlic and ginger. Eating that was like going back in time. Edit, the guys have turned this place around in the last 18 months and I would recommend again and have been using regularly. I’ve also had numerous conversations along the way with the new owner. They are now backto being the best in Doncaster. For reference, here’s what I wrote after they had taken over. “Sorry guys. When you took over masala a few months back I was impressed. You went back to doing things Jay style (Jay was head chef at masala 7 years back) and I was happy that you’d rescued masala. Unfortunately that didn’t last long. My last three orders have been very Pataks which I can buy in the supermarket. To add to the misery, todays order has what I thought was glass in it (turned out to be a molten sugar cube). I’d eaten hardly any before discovering it nearly breaking my tooth. Who knows how many more there are as I haven’t eaten any more. I’ve commented on masala for a lot of years, giving high praise where it was due and letting masala know when they were getting it wrong. Ask old Abdul or Jay (you know them). Some of your recent Google comments have been good and it’s no surprise because when you took over it was good but anyone thinking of trying them now, don’t be fooled the older photos, they are nothing like what I’ve received lately. One comment is that the reviewer had eaten all over the world and that yours was the best. That was true for me at one time (Jay time) and a comment I left before old masala struggled recently. It’s up to you guys to turn it around but if you don’t, check back on these comments in 12 months when you are wondering why it’s failing. This is Doncaster. £15 for a curry, rice and naan isn’t cheap. Especially if it’s no better than my non Indian missus can make at home. The people will vote with their feet.”

Very slow delivery, the driver waits a long time in the store until the order is ready.

Best curry on the planet, there’s no competition or debate about it……. If you haven’t tried this place for a curry then get ordering, and your be writing a very similar review 👍 if I could write another review I would say this over and over! I have tried every curry in Addlestone and chertsey, nothing even comes close! Please try the lamb spice lounge curry it’s unreal! Or any lamb dish for that matter, the lamb melts in your mouth!!!!

First time at Madhu's and couldn't reccomend it more highly. Delicious food and incredibly attentive service - will definitely be returning soon to sample more of the menu.

Our meal was so good. Fresh and full of flavour. All staff were professional and friendly. Good advice on chosen dishes given by staff member. Lovely place. Will definitely return.

Really nice curry the onion bhajis were glorious too. Had a good selection of drinks. They do a deal were you get poppadoms a starter and a main with rice for £14.95 good value for money.

Sat 28.3.25 7pm. Food is lovely. Highly recommend. Can eat in or take away. Bring your own ale and pay for soft drinks. 10/10.

Even after calling to let them know about the food being burnt and cold with the food also not being fully prepared and salad thrown in bags it’s appalling to me how rude they was 0/10 wouldn’t recommend
