I've had a few meals from here over the years, generally the food is pretty good. On this occasion however the food was late and as a result cold, cold enough that I had to reheat it in the microwave and that completely ruined my chapati :(

food arrived very late waited over a hour and it was stone cold. managed to microwave most of it but chips had to go in the bin as they were rock solid! had i have been in the restaurant and had this service i would have sent everything back.

usually brilliant. tried lemon chilli masala. so sweet I couldn't eat it. really disappointed. also colour off putting as unnaturally bright red. First bad curry sadly.

Still good food but yet again small portions for an indian meal also onion bhaji were not the best I've had , prices are high so all we do is go less and have less courses or else your easy up to 90 quid for two with a few drinks so when the mains are small it's not good.

Great food but why do the staff hover over you... more poppadoms, another drink, are you finished. Just leave me be, to enjoy the excellent food. Better as a takeaway, than eat in.

Hadn’t booked and was pretty busy for a Tuesday night in February. By the time we left we could see why. Very friendly welcome and great service - but the food was something else! We shared a vegetarian platter for starters which was really good value and a good indication on the restaurants focus on quality ingredients and preparation. Our main courses were even better! Well flavoured and just right in terms of heat/spice. There is obviously a lot of care and pride in the kitchen and it shows through. In short, the best curry house experience we can remember. Brilliant.

Superb and delicious selection of Indian dishes, definitely a cut above your average Indian. Highly recommended. Update: We have just visited fort a forth time and tried the gourmet tasting menu which was excellent, great selection of dishes and tastes. Every time is as good as the last.

I would like to give a big shout out to The Curry House. They made our evening great. The staff are very hard working, friendly and accommodating, even locating a high chair for our youngest guest. The food was cooked to perfection, with lots of choices and flavours. I would highly recommend. Thank you.

We had booked a table for 6pm in the downstairs restaurant which had been accepted. We had a call at around 5pm asking if we could make 5.30pm?? We arrived at 6pm to be told there was no downstairs table (although there were empty ones) and taken upstairs to sit at a table at the back which we did not like. We asked if we could have the table window which was free but told it was reserved. It was still empty when we left an hour and a half later. We ordered onion bhaji. We have never seen such small onion bhajis (only 3 of them) which arrived poorly presented (no lemon or dressing). We ordered garlic chilli chicken which was again a very small portion (childsize) which had very little chicken and tasted nothing like a garlic chilli chicken (very bland almost as if we had been given a dish of the base curry sauce). To add a small note the music playing was loud and resembled something from a funeral ceremony (very downbeat). Not in the same league as the Indian we use in Ludlow and we will not be returning.

Had a takeaway and unfortunately had a hair in our food which spoilt the experience of an otherwise nice meal

The curry was good and delivery on time

Really excellent experience. We popped in at around 6pm on a Friday evening and were quickly shown to a table (in a lovely wood panelled alcove). Service was swift, unobtrusive and friendly. The food was amazing. We shared the Chef's platter to start and every individual element was superb. I had the vegetable thali for my main. This was great value and came with rice, naan, dahl and two vegetable dishes, as well as an onion bhaji. OH had the Ruby Murray and a plain naan. That was delicious too - spicy, rich and different to anything we'd had before.

We have tried and tested all of the Indian restaurants in Shrewsbury, without question this is the best ,we have been here many times.

Changed from my usual place to be served what is probably the worst Indian takeaway I’ve ever had. Curry had a nice flavour but the pilau rice was just rice and turmeric it seems. Pale chips. Tough naan. Raita was yoghurt and a few pieces of grated cucumber. Plus it was all stone cold. Extremely disappointed. Won’t be ordering again.

We visited the Curry House on New Year’s Eve. I have visited this restaurant many times over the years, but this was my first time for probably ten years…and if I am honest, this was probably the last time as well. Sad really, as I was really looking forward to it. The menu was unrecognisable from what I remember from days gone by. The portions are not generous at all (my wife almost always takes a doggy bag home with her if she has a starter when we go for a curry - but not tonight!), and yet the food and drink prices are well above average. Granted, the food itself was very good, but sadly in my opinion no where near worth the money, especially with such fierce competition only a short walk away. Looking at many of the other reviews here the Curry House business model obviously appears to be working, but as a self-confessed lover of Indian cuisine, I personally feel there is FAR better in Shrewsbury for the money.

Absolutely wonderful evening for our Christmas Party. Food and service were excellent (as always) despite catering for a large party. Great location and really attentive staff who made us all feel very welcome.

the worst Dhansak I've eaten in years,gravy way to watery,underseasoned,lentils still hard,hardly any heat.starters were OK,rkeema rice tasteless and naan bread soggy.wont be ordering again.

But disappointed this is one of the most rated Indian deliveries available. The flavour of the butter chicken was quite nice, but standard chicken curry was pure oil and the lamb in the other curry whilst not fatty was not tender as such. Naan very tough and in the potato and cauliflower there were a total of 4 potato’s. Won’t order again

This is the third time I've eaten here, travelling from Cambridgeshire for this experience as well as sampling all the other delights of Shrewsbury. All of the dishes I have sampled from the extensive menu have been superb and very good value for the excellent quality of the ingredients and presentation. The atmosphere and service add to the overall experience. On this visit I had the Trio of Lamb followed by Butter Prawns. Both were extremely delicious with a very tender lamb chop and 4 huge king prawns. I will definitely be returning!

The whole experience was abysmal. Group of 16 and four of them left to go somewhere else after the starters came out cold. The main course came out luke warm then aswell. Everything was pre booked and the waiter was trying to say it was our fault because we weren't quick enough to say that's mine when he was serving them . To top it off I passed the waiter coming out of the toilet and he went straight out the door without washing his hands . You couldn't make it up ! Disgusting!

I rate The curry House in Shrewsbury as the best in Shropshire bar none, Fabulous service and a large menu of gorgeous traditional Indian dishes. A1

Our party of 4 visited the curry house last night for the first time BUT definitely not the last!, The food and service was amazing, Our only slight negative was we all felt the main food portions could have been slightly larger if I'm honest but having said this we'll 100% be returning here. Excellent.

We’ve been coming to The Curry House for years and every time we have the best experience. We held a company party last night and they were able to offer us a fantastic large takeaway to help us cater for our team. It was delicious and fantastic value. Really couldn’t recommend them enough! My family are going in for Christmas Day meal with them too. So cannot wait for that. Mo and Enam are great business owners and the food is delicious. Get yourselves in at any opportunity.

Awful chicken was dry and chewy, even the Nann and chapatis weren’t great either ended up ordering something else as we couldn’t it out meal

Three of us ate here on a Saturday night. We arrived at 7.30pm and got the last available table. The menu is just different to any that we have seen in other similar restaurants. We had 3 different starters and mains and they were all superb. Just over £100 for 3 of us with a couple of beers each felt like great value for money as well.

We got takeaway so can't comment on the atmosphere/ service but the food was really delicious

My family and friends arranged a surprise meal on the 4th November for my birthday. The food was absolutely amazing, beautifully presented, piping hot and absolutely delicious. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend

We were in Shrewsbury for 2 nights. Tried this the first night. So good we came back the second night. The best Indian restaurant I've been to. ********

The best Indian food we've ever had, we booked but only 2 people already seated but after 15 minutes it was full and turning people away. We were quickly served drinks by lovely attentive staff. I had vegetarian Thali which was amazing, hubby had onion bhaji and jalfrezi chicken the best he'd ever tasted. It was so good we came back 2 nights later and it was almost full when we got there 6.50. Poppadoms & pickles Jalfrezi chicken again and I had saag aloo baza kichdi (vegetarian dish potato & spinachballs flash fried ) served with the most delicious sauce, I've never tasted anything so good or ever seen it before in an Indian restaurant. This is a small restaurant SO booking is a must, unfortunately we were on holiday so only managed to visit twice. Amazing food highly recommended.

Discovered this restaurant while staying in Shrewsbury recently for a few days holiday and decided to give it a try. We booked a table very simply by phone and walked there in minutes from the Premier inn. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and we were shown to our table pretty quickly. The menu was varied and interesting and our order was taken efficiently. We didn't wait long for our meals although the restaurant was reasonably busy at the time. Service was good and the Food absolutely glorious. For me one of the best Indian meals I have ever had the pleasure to eat. This restaurant comes thoroughly recommended by me. Certainly worth a visit for anyone in the area.

We had 2 meals that were madras, one lamb and one chicken- totally different in colour, flavour and one was crazily spicy. Not sure what happened but wasn’t great.

Beautiful authentic aromatic vegetarian food. Absolute treat on a Sunday. Attentive service. Good value for money. Would highly recommend.

We frequent every time we visit shrewsbury. The food standard is very high. The service is excellent. I had tasty spicy pampadoms and a street food starter crisp semolina filled with a sweet and sœur sauce it was light and delicious. The main was a vegetable curry with a peshawar nan. The food was fresh and so tasty. The chef is very talented. They do taster evenings on Mon and tues. Will have to come back fir that. My fav Indian restaurant to date.

This was my second visit and it was just as good as my first visit . The food was amazing and not only did it taste good but the presentation of the food was also very good . There were 4 of us and we all had different dishes and each one of us loved it . The staff were friendly and efficient , and the food came out together and well spaced out between each course , menu choice is also very good and varied .I have visited a lot of Indian restaurants around the Shrewsbury area and this is definitely in my top two . Will definitely be returning. The photos I have attached are the starters .

In the area with my son's cricket festival in the school. Staying a few doors away, I only wish I went her first night and not the last. Food, service, venue and atmosphere were first class and will 100% recommend and revisit if up this way again.

Had a few normal meals here but I've been twice to the banquet nights on a Monday/Tuesday. Absolutely spectacular, the food was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. Staff were brilliant and very attentive. The food was like something from a Michelin star restaurant, but for £26! Can't beat it.

I went to eat at Curry house that day, the food was delicious as well as the service was comfortable. Especially the food cooked by the head chef Moinul Islam added a different dimension. The sincerity of the staff was more impressive, especially Sourav and Noj.

The meal we had was absolutely amazing. Not fancy, just extremely tasty. The service was good too - friendly. Highly recommended.

Spur of the moment choice and we were not disappointed. Excellent staff and service. Food simply wonderful. Only downside was a draught of cold air - aircon or door open and acoustics quite loud - both music and other diners. But would definitely go again!

Lovely comfortable restaurant with immaculately dressed staff. First class service and some of the best Indian food we’ve eaten. Only in Shrewsbury for two nights, and the food was so good, we ate there both nights. Would very highly recommend.

Quick delivery and very good curry (jalfrezi) and special naan. Chips weren’t as warm as they could be. My one ‘complaint’ would be that despite ordering 2 mains, 2 sides and 2 naans, (total order £37) we were only given 1 complimentary poppadum with the meal - I think it would be nice for there to have been 2 at least! Very good food though, would recommend and would definitely order from Curry House again.

Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere, average curry. This place has good ratings but really doesn’t taste so great. Some of the vegetable dishes are mixed vegetables (frozen). The sauces are similar, not strong enough in flavor and generally too sweet.

Open since 1970 and located on Mardol, one of Shrewsbury’s oldest streets @thecurryhouseshrewsbury serves locally sourced ingredients married with traditional spices and chillies from the Indian subcontinent, a match made in heaven. ⭐️5/5 Recommended👍🏻 Price 💸💸/💸 No better way to kick off proceedings but with popadoms, chutneys and fresh onion salad. On to appetisers and there are so many tempting dishes to choose with many of these exclusive to the curry house. Our first time trying Pani Puri. A sweet and spicy hot street food snack filled with chickpeas and tamarind sat on a bed of crunchy, nutty Bombay mix. With a building but pleasant heat, definitely something everyone should try. The quality and freshness of the seafood was exceptional. Spicy king prawns were huge and cooked to perfection. Charred on the outside for flavour but juicy and meaty. Trio of King scallops were beautifully tender and of a good size with sweetness from the tamarind liquor. Lamb rogan Josh tender lamb shoulder in a medium hot ginger tomato and onion sauce. A strong take on a traditional favourite of ours. Fresh from the Tandoor a generous mix of marinaded chicken, lamb, king prawns and a chargrilled lamb chop. The Tandoori deluxe massalla sauce was the perfect blend of sweetness melting into a subtle heat which brought the dish together perfectly. The curry house takes traditional dishes and flavours from the Indian subcontinent and elevates them to a level beyond expectations. Came to the Curry House Shrewsbury on their exclusive ‘Gourmet nights’ they have on during the week for my wife’s birthday. The dishes were presented beautifully and the taste was something you’d find in a Michelin starred restaurant. Each ingredient complements each other well and highlights the chefs creativity. I personally went for the Amrisari chicken and then a lamb shank for the main. Both dishes were bursting with flavour, and the lamb in particular was falling off the bone. Credit to the CH team and I will certainly be back to try the rest of the menu!

Recently visited the Curry House Shrewsbury for their Gourmet menu & it was exceptional! Their food is always great but the gourmet menu is definitely a favourite for a special occasion. The bombay bindi aloo & Seabass palak were the best I have ever had. They never fail to amaze, from the service to the quality of food served. Couldn't recommend them enough.

Perfect from start to finish. The staff were always available and attentive, the food was exceptional and the restaurant is spacious and beautifully decorated. It was completely booked out but never felt like it.
