Lea Cross Tandoori in Shropshire

Had a curry order for my partner's birthday I had lamb tikka masala and was meh. Filled a hole, not much flavour. Chips were OK.

An absolute gem, just fantastic.

Buffet Night. Great Food and atmosphere. Service. As always second to none.

Always have take away. The food we enjoy is gorgeous. Bombay potato, king prawn massalla and vindaloo. The fish is not for us, but veg and prawns fab. Staff always polite.

Had a great meal and the waiters were fun. Well worth the 360 mile round trip!

This place came highly recommended and so my expectations were set accordingly but to be honest the food was very average - maybe this level of Indian cuisine is rated highly in Shropshire but it really wouldn't cut the mustard in a decent sized city with proper competition. Specifically a tandoori mixed grill was served without a sauce - never experienced that before as usually get a veg curry at the least. No big deal but there was no king prawn and the chicken leg was old and tough and after a few bites I left it. The kebab was also dry so again not fresh. The pakora dish was fine and the regular korma were fine, as I say just average. So in short yeah sure if you fancy an Indian and there's nothing else available go for it - it fills a hole and I don't want to diss the place - all will be OK but don't go expecting anything special!

Lea Cross Tandoori is our local! We order a takeaway meal from here every weekend, and enjoy eating in too. All the staff are friendly and accommodating of personal preferences, and dishes are tweaked accordingly by the brilliant chefs to suit our taste for extra hot food. This is a gem of a place that our whole family love. Highly recommended!!

Booked a table for 7 on a Saturday night at short notice. Despite being very busy they made sure fitting us in was not a problem. As usual the food and service was excellent. We are regulars here along with so many others. We do not make life easy for them ordering adaptions to suit our taste on different dishes but that is never an issue. The food is always delicious which us why we keep coming back.

I honestly cannot fault our local indian cuisine restaurant. The food is of exceptional quality and tastes absolutely mouth watering. Service is always 5* and nothing is too much trouble. They definitely look after their customers and the takeaway side is always on time and value for money. There is also a very welcoming atmosphere within the restaurant too and is always busy. So this alone speaks volumes.

Had yet another wonderful meal here this evening. We have been dining in and having takeaways since they began over 20+ years ago and food has always been first class. The flavours of the dishes are excellent, and good size portions. The staff are very friendly and always look after you to make your visit enjoyable.

Sure it's amazing but never been there. Every time I am at Worthen Juniors FC on the other side of the road from the Tandoori, Google gets all confused and thinks I'm demolishing a lamb bhuna, rather than watching grassroots football 😂

The food was very nice but small portions. Glad we had stater and extras or would have left a bit hungry which would be a first for any Indian restaurant we've visited worldwide.

Very pleasant restaurant to come and eat out. Although it seems more popular with people picking up takeaway food. We must have come on a quiet night as it was just us and two more couples. The food was of a very high standard and served by two very friendly staff. More non-alcoholic drinks would have been great.

This is a very good restaurant. Some interesting variations of British Indian restaurant food.

Dissaponting. We ordered the tandoori fish, butter chicken and pilau rice. The portions were ridiculously small. The butter chicken consisted of   small strips of chicken and an abundance of onions. The pilau rice was on a very small plate that amounted to a few spoonfuls.  The tandoori fish consisted of 6 extremely small pieces of fish and an abundance of onions. We paid £35 for this minuscule meal. We left feeling hungry.

Such a shame. We've been having takeaways from here for years and even with price increases we have continued to order as the food quality is always good, and portion sizes generous. But after our last order we won't purchase from here again sadly. On arrival our curry was half full, chips half full, mint yogurt, onions -half full. Tiny naan. Not sure what's happened or whether it was just a scrimping chef but it certainly wasn't worth the price and left us hungry even though we paid nearly £40 including delivery 😔

Not bad, having lived in Birmingham most of my life, I have been spoiled with some excellent curry houses. This is not in that league, but is nice and the staff are pleasant.

We enjoyed a celebratory meal together at Lea Cross Tandoori. The staff are not only attentive, friendly but also fun. They serve delicious food and aim to make your dining experience a pleasurable experience. This time we tried two new dishes and we were not disappointed. Very fresh and flavoursome.

We have had a few take away from here and haven't been disappointed so we went for a sit down meal. My husbands food was fine and tasty but I felt mine lacked flavour also chips and rice was tasteless. It won't put us off going but it better to be honest. They were rushing around as they were on catch up so maybe this had something to do with it.

The major of Shropshire stated that it was one of the best meals he ever had. I state it's one of the worst meals I ever had. It was terrible. Everything tasted the same with no flavor whatsoever. The chicken tikka tasted like a (I'm sorry) disgusting pineapple and coconut curry. I will give the food 0 out of 5 if I could.

Been about 6 month from last time there and never again , must be a different chef now , both my meal and wife’s were just tasteless the king prawns tasted more like Doughballs and had to check if we’re prawns as the texture was wrong . Even the poppa dons were awful, such a let down now as we always used them before and during the lockdown , it can only be due to another chef , sorry guys but even last time I was there you said you never get order wrong and told me I don’t need to check well today you forgot the Nan bread in the order , won’t be recommending or coming back ever again £33 wasted.

A bit disappointing. The onion barges is too greasy. The curry I had was also bland. There also was no Indian atmosphere. When it's all dark, indian music plays and it smells of curry. There was none of that. So disappointing

Table for 2, excellent friendly service, social distanced tables , temperature taken on arrival and hand cleaning station, . The place was cosy & warm and looked bright and clean. The food was really good , presented very well and piping hot, good range of drinks and the wine was lovely . Very reasonable price. We Will certainly return .

Having lived in the south for a while, I asked friends for a decent Indian restaurant in Shrewsbury, and this place did not disappoint, I would definitely recommend it. The staff were very friendly and pretty attentive, the food was very good too. Look forward to going back soon.

Lea Cross Tandoori, we can highly recommend. When ever we have eaten in or as this year has been so bad due to the pandemic we have had takeaways the service has always been professional and courteous. The food is heavenly and always consistently great. My favourite are the potato balls from the starter menu, I could eat a lot of portions of these. The salads and onions they pack with each takeaway are always freshly done and a lovely touch.The staff are friendly and from the time you phone an order in they prepare great food in a timely fashion. Thank you for your lovely meals that have made our weekly takeaways so enjoyable. Keep up the great work.

Was worried about eating out for first time after lockdown but very impressed with Lea cross. They take your temperature at door. Then insist you use sanitizer before taking you to table which are well spread out. The staff wear masks. Felt very safe and as always the food was excellent. Well done Lea Cross Tandoori

Had a few take aways from here since covid19 stopped going out, so once they were open for table places we booked. From walking in to walking out the service and food was impeccable. Can't fault the people or the food.

This is one of the best curry houses in the UK. Amazing food and service, the guys work so hard here and really get to know their customers. The food is exceptional. Too many good dishes to recommend. You MUST eat here, get a take away from here or even get a delivery

My Favourite Indian Takeaway! The Staff are friendly and work very hard to make sure you have a good meal. The food is high quality and tastes great and I've never had any problems here. Definitely recommend to everyone in Shrewsbury or west of Shrewsbury.

Yes folks, you won’t do better. There are others, some even almost as good as Lea Cross Tandoori but you will pay up to 30% more!Eat in or takeaway I guarantee the brothers will serve you up the best curry you’ve ever tasted. With a chilled glass of Cobra to wash it down what could be better?

We recently visited for valentine's day I have to say the restaurant was busy but this didn't effort the exemplary stand of service we received. The food was by far the best Indian I have had in Shropshire. I would highly recommend a visit here. The staff are friendly and welcoming the service we received was outstanding. Great restaurant excellent food definitely would visit again. Also had a take away from here and that was of the same standard ☺️

The restaurant is located in village between hanwood and Pontesbury in a quiet village called Lea Cross. Fantastic food secure car park and very friendly staff.

I had a duck tikka curry as I’d never had duck in an Indian curry before, to be honest it was a bit tough. However the curry was delicious, so I’d have the same curry again but not the same meat choice. My wife had chicken tikka tandoori and said it was super tender. The keema chilli nan was delicious and I’m always pleased to see natural colour in keema, rather than the lurid red at some places. Overall I’d say this is a great curry house and I’ll definitely come back.

The brothers have the most perfect restaurant with just the right mix of friendly and not in your face. Food is the best in the county, and just not a problem to look after friends that had allergies or food concerns.

Went to eat in last Saturday 9/11/19. Very poor atmosphere very clinical decorated and very cold had to put my coat on.
