Great food and service. We came with friends from Australia and they were touring the UK. According to them it was their best meal. The duck leg with dauphinoise potatoes is outstanding. Staff keen to help with my dislike of very bright lights so found us a suitable table.

It was recommended and it was ace! The best french onion soup I've had and the pan fried duck with cherry sauce was delicious. My partner had the tiger prawns which come shelled and salmon which came in a ratatouille. Very efficient service and friendly staff.

We travel to attend gigs at The Parish about four times a year. We book hotel accommodation in the city and eat out in local restaurants. The Parish is an absolutely amazing asset to Huddersfield! We visit lots of different live music venues around the country and can say with all honesty, that The Parish is our favourite. The staff team are professional and create the perfect night out to promote live music …please help this amazing venue and team of dedicated staff to survive!

Personally I thought this was a great experience, a warming atmosphere and a great space it made me feel positive from the start. I ordered the fish cake to start and it was delicious, the sauce added a lovely flavour on top of the tasty and perfected fish cake it was truly splendid. For my main course I had a burger although I was at a nice establishment I was ready for a nice dirty burger, although I say dirty it wasn’t dirty at all but still had the right ingredients top class it as a dirty burger, it was tasty cooked too perfection and the right size after a good starter. On the whole my experience at this amazing restaurant/ pub was amazing such friendly faces and good jokes mad the atmosphere very comforting, and this was topped off by a delightful meal.

We came for a two night stay in the hotel to explore the area and to see if the Angel’s food would be heavenly. First, the hotel. It’s constructed in traditional style to the area, but is light, bright, modern and offers the highest of both standards & amenities. As an example our bed is the biggest I’ve ever seen; certainly even bigger than a Californian king and so comfy. Plus double showers, etc. Lovely. Second, the food. So to start I’d like a do shout out to the team who go above and beyond to make sure they understand your allergies and likes/dislikes. This was demonstrated in the menu they created specially for my wife (I’ve added a photo)mm The meal itself was truly excellent. Each course was different yet sympathetically paired with those that came before it and those coming after. We’ve eaten in 2* restaurants which aren’t as creative or skilled. The wine list is varied and offers lots of choice to get the wine you want to match your food. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall a lovely experience.

Very lovely experience, the food was delicious, fresh, creamy and hitting all the senses. Had crab cakes that were just perfectly light starter, pork was beautifully cooked and tender in a delicious sauce, and creamy spinach was perfect. Lady who served us was very attentive, I'm sorry we didn't catch her name. Will be back!

This was our usual, pre-Christmas, family get together at BB - albeit minus grand-daughter but plus, for the first time, the family dog, who was well looked after Orders were taken promptly - by the waitress we had met on previous visits - and the starters appeared at the expected time. Then we could tell that something had gone wrong - as our 'mains' of those and other diners, did not appear. Eventually we learnt that there had been a genuine medical emergency in the kitchen - causing a 30 minutes delay. That gained our sympathy but a much earlier explanation would have been a good idea. Starters were fine - being of the usual quality but unfortunately there were aspects of the 'mains' that were not up to the usual standards - presumably due to the disruption in the kitchen. In fairness, to compensate for the delay, we were offered desserts 'on the house' but could not risk missing a train or being late for the school pick up respectively, plus the dog had been very patient for longer than expected to be needed (as had we known about the 30 minutes delay, he could have had a walk between courses) - so had to decline. Despite the issues, we did still pay the usual gratuity - as the problems were not down to our waitress and it must have been difficult for the kitchen staff with the head chef having to go off site in the middle of service.

We met up for a meal at the Bistro last Wednesday evening. As always we were made very welcome and the service throughout was excellent. I love the extra touches and they are very accommodating. We all really enjoyed our meals. Although a service charge was added we were told that we could have it removed which I think is reasonable. I will definitely recommend the Bistro to others.
