Food average so not good value, I had vegetarian option which arrived with meat sausages so the other two meals were taken back to stay warm while mine was redone consequently very dry. Sweets were better not very exciting but we’re just OK . The restaurant is comfortable staff were rushing but may have been short staffed, our waitress persisted on addressing us as love, darling, sweetheart , irritating. Will leave it sometime before going back.

I went to Blancs before for my 21st and it was excellent, so I thought it would be a good choice for valentines also. More so as I had bought a Virgin experiences voucher for a 2 course meal and some wine which worked on the Saturday when we went. Thankfully my girlfriend loved it! Having arrived for our 8.30 booking, we had a drink at the bar whilst the table was prepared. It can be a little cramped here as the chairs are a bit awkward and chunky. After seating, we were given the set menus, which had a good choice of their regular dishes - including their soufflé starter and mussels. The service was good and attentive during this busy service. The food however was even better! Good portions sizes for a voucher menu and so flavoursome. I would highly recommend the terrine starter. My only tiny recommendation is that the mussels have a creamy sauce but I'm sure it would have been perfect as is for some. Great evening overall, and will come back a third time for sure!

The first time we have been here for a few years and in the meantime it has had a makeover, I have to say in my opinion i preferred the previous layout and seating arrangements but I suppose it was time for a refit. In any case we ate at lunchtime and were offered the midday deal menu and the normal menu. both had good choices with some old favorites and seasonal dishes. i went for the cassoulet which didn't disappoint and went well with a good quality glass of wine. Service quality has been maintained to the previous high standard.

Best steak i have had in years. Top chef i think here as the steaks were cooked to perfection and not only that the presentation on the plate was perfection. Thank you for keeping my faith in British produce. A credit to the Chefs chain!

If your looking for a Sunday lunch that won't break the bank go to Raymonds. It's a beautiful restaurant, cosy atmosphere and has a reception cocktail bar. The service was excellent and the food hot and delicious. Thoroughly recommended, book in advance to avoid disappointment. Bon appetite!

Defiantly worth a visit, the staff are very friendly and go out their way to look after you. We had a friends birthday celebration there and our waitress was fantastic sorting out candles and making a fuss of our friend so thank you Blancs for making it special.

I reviewed this restaurant a couple of weeks ago to point out the 'hidden' service charge. They have now reimbursed me £20. which constitutes the £15 we paid tip and an unaccountable £5 for apple juice, for which I am very grateful.

Four of us dined here and had three courses each including the Chateaubriand steak, a couple of bottles of wine, pre lunch drinks coffee and dessert wine with the bill coming to £275 - so it certainly was not cheap (you can obviously dine at a lower price but we went for it!).Service was good, the steak was very tasty but I felt the side dishes were particularly overpriced. The house wine was very quaffable too. We spent around three and a half hours there having a very leisurely late lunch in pleasant surroundings.Would I rave about it? Probably not. Did I enjoy it? Yes, muchly. Would I go back? Yes.

Maybe we are a bit dim, but had difficulty finding this place. Better signposting might be an idea to increase the lunchtime clientèle.I had "Cod brandade & lemon croquettes, spiced lentils" and the fact that there was one croquette on the lentils is not what I commented on when the waitress asked if it was all right.I replied: "Yes, it was good, but this was not brandade". She quickly moved away. Either she was embarrassed because she knew it wasn't brandade or she didn't know what I was talking about. My single croquette was mash potatoes with a bit of cod in it. Have brandade in France, preferably in Nîmes where it was invented and you'll taste the difference. The rest of our food was also very nice and the house wine was good. However, we were surprised not to be given any bread which they used to bring to the table automatically (like in France). Had to order bread (but no, love, I didn't order butter!)So, this is a French restaurant, Raymond, but not quite as we know it.Oh, eck, not bad for Yorkshire after all.

Met up with some very old friends we hadn't seen for years, the staff were very good and didn't rush us. The food was very good, had Sunday lunch and the beef was exactly how we had asked for it cooking. One of our party had sweetbreads for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed them. We were very impressed with the bill, thought it would cost much more as we had drunk a few bottles of wine.

Went here to for lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday and it didn't disappoint. Lovely leek salad starter + a pork belly main were absolutely brilliant + an excellent wine (cote du rhone). My wife had the sea bass which was perfectly cooked. The pannacotta dessert was beautifully presented and delicious. All for £41 for 2 people off the set menu (+ dessert) although the cote du rhone is not off the set menu so is £6.50 a large glass.Just watch out for the expensive parking around there but that's Leeds.

We ate here as a party of 4 on Sat 30th November. My husband and I have never dined at a "known" chefs restaurant chain such as Jamie Olivers etc. Being tight Brummies we have always been put off by prices and the feeling of being disappointed. Our friends from Yorkshire have eaten here before and wanted to take us there. I ate from the set November menu, 3 courses for £13.95 and every course was gorgeous - there is even an offer on a glass of wine if you take this up. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his chicken and mash. 2 starters, 4 mains, I dessert, 4 glasses of wine and 4 beers/ciders came to £95. If more of your party like the set menu then even better. Considering the beautiful setting and excellent service this was good value - also we were early for our table but this was no probem and we were still seated. I shall be trying one of Raymondo's restaurants nearer to the Midlands in the future. Bon apetit.

Visited on a weekday evening as a party of 3. This is a really nice dining room as others have suggested.I think there's a little bit of expectation management to be done though - this is a bistro and that needs to be remembered. If you are looking for something doing cordon bleu with a Michelin star this is not what you will get and nor does it pretend otherwise. What you will get is what a bistro offers which is simple French home-style cooking and this is something which this place does very well.I chose Escargot to start which was nice and tasty with lots of garlic. I then went for the Demi poulet which was honestly a really really nice piece of chicken. The service was excellent despite for some reason the dining room just getting unexpectedly busier and busier but the manageress did a fantastic job as did the French waitress (blonde hair).Would go again, maybe on the weekend during the day.

This restaurant is stunning - the building was beautifully renovated around original features and has been kept to a very high standard over the years. It is well laid out, clean, tasteful. In fact it is perfect. The staff are very efficient and attentive.Pity about the food.We have gone several times over the years and, apart from when it first opened, the food has disappointed more and more. But we keep giving it a try - hope over experience! This week we went again, and I think that this will be the last time. We could do better at home.We had salmon and (the only vegetarian main course option) French onion tart. The food was presented on trencher style "plates". There was a piece of cooked salmon - that was about all you could say about it. A small dish of actually very nice and hot french fries (not chips), and a very small dish of sauce. The onion tart wasn't even an individual tart, it was a slice off a large tart. The very small accompanying dish of what was supposed to be Gruyere salad was actually a few bits of fancy greens with no taste of anything much. That lot cost over £25 for the pair. The sweets of French apple pie and Rhubarb sabayon. Soggy, tasteless pie and a small tasteless sabayon - if I had been blindfolded I would not have recognised that there was rhubarb in it. The bottle of Sauvignon Blanc wine was fairly well priced and was delicious. Expectations are high with a restaurant bearing Raymond Blanc's name, and this one falls well short in the food stakes. And isn't food what a restaurant is supposed to be about?

The end of term report would say "must try harder". I get the distinct impression that they are very much trading on the Raymond Blanc name without delivering on the Blanc quality. The food is OK but there are better french restaurants in Leeds and the prices are at the top end of the Leeds price scale.Nevertheless my companions and me did enjoy our lunchtime experience. Service was good and friendly and the place has a good atmosphere. However, yet again a reasonable restaurant lets itself down by charging silly prices for vin ordinaire!!! - when will they learn?

I visited here on Saturday night with friends it's a while since I've been but I founded it to be good value for money. The staff were pleasant the food not overly adventurous but very tasty and well cooked. My parfait starter was plentiful and flavoursome. My guests had muscles no complaints. I've noticed there's quite a few mixed reviews some I feel are a little unfair. This place is just a bistro so don't expect Michelin star. However four 4 of us and two bottles of wine the bill came to £155 which we felt to be excellent value . When booking they had requested the table back for 9 o'clock which we were happy to oblige. However we were still sat there at 10, staff were polite and attentive without being intrusive. Despite main courses being rather filling my husband and I shared the baked Alaska , very tasty worth trying. Would go again definitely if we just wanted a chilled night .

I live near and do keep trying this restaurant. It has to be the best dining room in Leeds, full of atmosphere and excellent decor.Unfortunately the food just is'nt good enough and that is always the problem. Tried again yesterday with Sunday lunch for 3. The set short menu never seems to alter much and other than the sirloin the choices of starter and mains just leave me disappointed. If you go a la carte pretty much the same and pricey for what it is.The visits are usually saved by the quality of the staff, the regular manager was not there yesterday which was a shame. the barman needs a lesson in manners as he threw g & T's at us and sent his tray spinning down the bar--get another job if you hate customer service. At the end of the day for some reason I maintain a soft spot for this venue, I dont think Monsieur Blanc has anything to do with the chain, but get him in and relight the torch-I know lolts of people who love it but won't go anymore.
