The Bengal Brasserie in Leeds

Absolutely lovely food and restaurant , but the back entrance near M and S really lets it down .. it needs some attention and looks dirty and grubby , right by the kitchen doors

Food and service is excellent can not rate this enough, the staff really do go that extra mile for you and will always make you something that is not on the menu

The best Indian restaurant we have been to! Myself and my family have been coming here for years- the food is always fantastic, excellent service, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The food is always absolutely delicious and we are never disappointed. Would thoroughly recommend!

The lager tasted like it had been watered down. Portion sizes were tiny, they wouldn’t have filled a child let alone an adult. One member of the staff wearing a blue/purple shirt was exceptionally rude. He came over with the bill when we hadn’t started our main course and asked us to leave saying he needed the table. His colleague came over to apologise and said he had been like that all night with customers and staff. Will definitely not be going back.

We went to the Bengal Brasserie on recommendation and were absolutely not disappointed. The restaurant itself is really nice with a lovely ambience. The staff were attentive and friendly but the food... I'm usually boring and have the same dish when I eat Indian food but decided to change things up on this occasion. I had a lamb dish that was unfamiliar to me but was thoroughly delicious. My wife had a duck curry that was also excellent. I can't recommend this place enough.

Food was lovely, one of the staff could have been a bit friendlier but he wasn’t rude. Liked the fact you got a hot towel for your hands at the end.

Myself and my husband came here before a concert at Leeds Arena with my son and his partner and my two best friends. The food was amazing and the service fantastic! Would certainly return, this is a beautiful place with excellent service.

Mothers Day very busy, service quite slow. We had chicken tikka as one of the starters authentic, but the main course I had chicken tikka, did not appear to be marinated long enough nothing like the starter.

Excellent food and service as always and squeezed 6 of us in with very little notice! Restaurant was really busy and we were worried about how quickly we’d be served as we had a concert to get to….but no issues whatsoever!

This restaurant was a very pleasant surprise, being in York for a few days we decided we’d try it out. The food was the best and tastiest Indian food we have eaten and enjoyed for years! From the welcome, to the popadums, to the starters through to the main the whole experience was a delight and we cannot wait until we are next in York as this restaurant is first on our list to be booked, we are already planning to return

Superb meal here whilst visiting York with my wife for a few days. Researched the reviews and booked online as it was a rainy night and an 8pm table. Warm greeting by staff, good service, food was excellent and we would highly recommend this restaurant. Only downside was a very noisy table with 2 small children who were screaming whilst playing cards with their parents at 9pm. Had to intervene but can’t really blame the restaurant for their behaviour. Didn’t spoil the meal but shows how inconsiderate people can be in an adult environment - as my wife said, this isn’t McDonalds. That aside, eat here and you won’t be disappointed 👍

Another enjoyable meal which is the usual outcome at this excellent restaurant. The food is great, the staff helpful and attentive and the place is spotless.

This Indian was really friendly, with a warm, welcome, and a good drink selection. There were a few parties in so the atmosphere was good, although there was no music on at all which I felt would’ve helped create an ambience for those that were not in a large group. The wine selection was reasonable, with a great gin selection, but just to note the tonic water for the gin only comes in 125 mL bottles. The food was delicious, they even do a healthy option and are happy to cook food without oil, perfect for those on SlimmingWorld. I would highly recommend a visit to this Indian, you’ll have a great experience with very friendly staff.

Superb came after the races on boxing day had a buffet on and didn't disappoint will be back soon 10/10... the food and atmosphere were great and the decor spot on.

Went for Sisters birthday meal. The food was amazing overall. Love the lamb chops 100% recommend it was tender and soft. The staff was friendly and took care of us all.

I just love this restaurant! Since moving to the area we have become frequent visitors. The menu is fab. The vegetarian dishes are particularly good. The staff are so helpful and really flexible.

Great first visit, very impressed with the service, and most importantly, the food. Food quality was good, spiced to perfection. Prices were very reasonable, house red was of decent quality too. Can't wait to go back. Only one downside was the noise level......pretty horrendous at times. Large groups of people shouting at each other to be heard. Noise level dropped considerably when a group of race growers departed.

Booked last minute for Saturday night dinner. Sham managed to get a nice table for us, Table 1. Restaurant was very busy with Wetherby Races being on. Lots of atmosphere and customers at tables having a good time. Ordered drinks and food, no rush for us, we enjoy taking our time. Poppadoms arrived fresh and crispy, pickle tray had a nice mix of onions & pickles. Main courses, chicken bhuna & chicken rogan josh with extra tomatoes and saucy, veg rice & garlic coriander Nan. All of the food was really tasty and nicely presented. No room for dessert. Thanks once again to all the staff for a great night at The Bengal Brasserie, No1 indian in Wetherby by far. Highly recommend visiting.

I genuinely can't fault this place! From the warm and friendly welcome, the choice of food, the presentation, the taste, the service, the decor and the price, everything was spot on. I'd read reports that it was a little of the pricey side, but I felt it was on a par with our Indian restaurants. Definitely recommend trying, if in the area.

Amazing service - graduated in Harrogate and stupidly forgot to book a table for tea rang up the restaurant and they fitted us in - with traffic we were late so they set us up a little table upstairs and were really accommodating - food was hot and on point - very tasty - meriva chicken is very very cheesy but the Korma and starters are on point - very filling - the staff were all very professional and accommodating despite being very busy and overall we enjoyed the experience- thank you to the staff for saving my evening

We had another fabulous meal on Friday night, Bengal Brasserie is our favourite restaurant. We visit on a regular basis. Not only is the food always delicious, there is always a warm welcome waiting for you and you are treated like family ❤️

We have been visiting the Bengal Brasserie in Wetherby for over 4 years now. The restaurant is modern inside and clean. It has a great atmosphere with low level music in the background. The food at Bengal is exceptional, week in week out. We have never had a bad meal there and cannot recommend it more. Sham, Shaz and the team including Cameron are fantastic. They make a fuss of the kids all the time and spoil them to bits. We are treated like family and that epitomises the feel of how Sham and Shaz run the restaurant. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them and if there is something you want but they haven’t got, you can guarantee that if you go again they will have got it for you!! Fab team, fab food, fab service.

Today i was lucky enough to attend a Sikh wedding where the caterer provided Indian food for 350 people. Each dish had its own identity in appearance, flavour and presentation, and very course was delightful. On there other hand ,I dined at Bengal Brasserie yesterday evening (you may get the feeling that I love Indian food) where three of us on the same table had three menu identified chicken curry dishes and individual starters. The starters were insipid at best but well presented. The three chicken curry dishes not only looked identical in colour and texture, but tasted identical but were different on the menu description. Now come on, I have dined in so many Indian/Bangladeshi/Pakistani restaurants to know that you can differentiate between curries. Yesterday, this restaurant did not even try to do so. I have been to all of the other Bengal Brasserie Restaurants in this change and have to say that I have never been so disappointed in their food. In spite of this poor food, the service was very good and they were suitably tipped.

On holiday in the area this week, we thought we'd try the Bengal Brasserie for a takeaway on the first night. We enjoyed it so much we went back another night and again it was superb. Food was excellent, the service was prompt and the staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend it.

travelled from afar due to reviews, circa 35 mins by motorway. Warm welcome by attentive waiters , restaurant has lovely decor, curved booths /tables well spaced , tasteful wallpaper wonderful lighting and a part conservatory look.. Served by cameron who was very attentive and pleasant....

we were looking for a good quality indian restaurant and prepared to travel from around j32 xscape area . chose bengal brasserie based on reviews and location , travel took 35 mins . Easy to park , warm welcome with attentive waiters . Beautiful relaxing decor and interior , comfy booth seats . served by CAMERON who guided us through menu and later on SHAM who were excellent at taking care of us ( thank you gents service top marks ) , i started with seekh kebabs which were large , and not dry at all , best i’ve had ( and we have eaten decent curries in uk and abroad) and my wife veg samosa again large and packed with veg plus impressive pickle tray . Main course a hot king prawn dish which was indeed hot and wife mild fish curry with chapattis which were light and fluffy not sticky and pilau rice again tasty and traditional not the coloured stuff ! Rounded off by coffees . Lovely relaxed atmosphere , wonderful decor and as the sun set and darkness fell wonderful lighting came into its own . We have found our favourite ‘ go to’ indian and look forward to sampling more of very comprehensive menu thank you , see you soon !

We had to wait half an hour for our table, but the manager and the waiters were all extremely apologetic. The restaurant was extremely packed, and the waiters were working impressively to cover everyone very quickly. When we did get to our table, the service was fast and efficient, and, my goodness, it was worth the wait. The food was exemplary. Everything was beautifully cooked, and the balance of spices was spot on. I also had the best Sag Paneer I have ever had. We will definitely come back, but perhaps on a quieter evening.
