I love this place. We've been coming here for many years and the quality never changes - it's always fantastic. It's about 1 of 3 places we always go when in Leeds for a night out, you know what you're going to get, it's not pretentious, it's sensibly priced and it's not pretending to be something it isn't. The set menu is amazing value for money, we both chose from this, both had desserts and coffees and it was just under £100 - which I think is super value. Book - you won't be disappointed.

This used to be a favourite restaurant 30 years ago but changed circumstances mean that I haven't eaten there for over 20 years. Finding ourselves in Leeds this week and that it was still getting good reviews, my wife and I decided to eat there. Boy are we glad we did. We had what was probably the best meals either of us has had this year, the food (duck and pork) being excellent, as was our bottle of Pinot Noir and the attentive service. It won't be another 20 years before we are back.

Went here for my husband's birthday - the food was excellent and fairly hefty portions. I had the duck which was really tender and my husband had pork, which was good but he had difficulty getting through it. He then ordered sticky toffee pudding which was enormous! We were seated in an alcove where there was just about enough room for a table and two chairs. Whilst this wasn't a problem, it did remove us somewhat from the general atmosphere - it was a bit like sitting in a cupboard! We really enjoyed our food, absolutely no complaints, however there was a table of four very drunk people who persisted in shouting to one another and cackling loudly throughout the evening. This meant that we couldn't talk or hear each other at times. I'm sure we weren't the only ones affected by this. Whilst I appreciate that this is a difficult thing for staff to deal with, I do think that the enjoyment of other diners should be considered.

This is a pretty solid place. The service was good, efficient and friendly. Beer good, house wine decent. Three courses for two people with a bottle wine and a couple of drinks and some bread from the a la carte menu was under £120 and we thought a really good price for the quality. portion size of my husbands pigeon starter was a little small whereas my pig cheeks starter was massive in comparison. on the main the sea trout was maybe a teeny bit over for my taste but then I prefer fish only just cooked. Would have been nicer if the bread had been warmed. Would book again.

The starter was nice, had the warm duck and ham salad, but the mains and desserts were disappointing. The pork loin steak was dry and tough, and the bourguignon lacked flavour. Unfortunately, the toffee sauce for the sticky toffee pudding was burnt and had to be returned. The pudding was swapped free of charge, but we were told the chef tasted the toffee sauce and that it had been cooked correctly. A little odd as the sauce did have quite an acrid taste. Service, as ever, was wonderful, the atmosphere buzzed, and my wife adored her herb crusted cod dish with clam and curried veloute. My breast of duck with parsnip rosti was perfect with a fab (and well priced) bottle of Pinot noir. Was excited to try this restaurant having visited it many years ago and having seen the reviews. Maybe we have high standards but came away disappointed. The little pats of butter on the tables were waiting for some warm fresh bread - the bread arrived and was not warm. We did order the ‘nibbles’ of olives and bread and that bread was warm and tasty. Starters - Moules Mariniere couldn’t be faulted, Tempura Prawns were nice but the chilli jam didn’t taste of much, home made soup was nice but nothing special (have had better), French onion soup was hot to the extreme but was ok (personally we prefer a bigger crouton and more cheese). Main courses - 3 of us opted for the duo of pork dishes - the pork wrapped in ham and filo pastry (looked like a big sausage roll haha) was very salty, the sauce was average, chips and mashed potato average. Ribeye steak was very disappointing - daughter had this and said it was tasteless, swimming in peppercorn sauce. We declined on desserts. Disappointing that there were no 0% alcohol fizzes (Prosecco) - not everyone can drink alcohol (even if we would like to). Overall the decision was we wouldn’t return - had high hopes but it didn’t meet our expectations unfortunately

We made the mistake of booking a table for four at The Olive Tree. We sat there for twenty minutes waiting for the water we'd ordered, and ignored by the passing wait staff and manager numerous times. Eventually we decided to walk out, completely unnoticed and luckily grab a table at Souz Le Nez. We were warmly greeted when we arrived, sat at our table within two minutes, and soon eating our delicious starters. The mains were wonderful, and we shared a few side dishes, nobody was sharing their mains! The old-fashioned service from the efficient staff was also a rare treat. We spent a reasonable amount more here compared to the Olive Tree, but it was definitely worth it, I'm looking forward to returning soon, and avoiding the numerous soleless chain restaurants Leeds is full of.

I even got the pork do for main. The belly pork was perfect. The pork fillet is not as good but still awesome. Wifey got the venison. She's sucker for beetroot or haggis. She loves it too. We mostly don't get desserts because they tend to ruin the vibe but we took our chance. I got the white chocolate mousse. It was good. Not too sweet. Gin tart with tonic sorbet. Devine experience 😁😁 Probably the best meal we've eaten this year and we had the early bird menu. I had a superb fishcake for starters really meaty with fish and a gorgeous pea shoot accompaniment. Main was rump steak and chips plus veg for the table. We'll cooked and cracking chips and the best peppercorn sauce I've ever tasted. Finally the best bit an incredible white chocolate dessert with honeycomb. Had I been at home I'd have licked every plate clean. Just £36 for the food. Incredible value in this lovely setting 2 minutes from the train station. My wife and friend also raves about their selections.

Nice restaurant in the dungeon below Quebec Hotel where we have stayed before. Found it by accident whilst googling places to eat when visiting family in Leeds. Decent wine menu and varied food selection. Quite noisy even though not super busy… but staff were friendly. My Pugs Cheeks were tender and tasty and live a bit of gnocchi in any dish. Partner’s black pudding was good but overwhelmed by the sauce which was IMO too sweet. My duck main was the best I’ve had in a long time - big fan: rare, tender, tasty. My partner had the sole was a bit fiddly. He opted for the sunflower tart with chanttily crème … ok but thought too sweet. Nice wine with the meal- our first choice was I availble so opted for the Bourgogne Les Setilles … really good pairing with the meal (partner chose it as I have no idea…) I would def come back again

We came for my birthday on Saturday, this place is very special. We were given a warm welcome and Prosecco and cake for my birthday which was a really nice touch. We had oysters to start, followed by roast duck. The food was amazing and the wine was great too. I highly recommend this place for a special occasion! Thank you for a wonderful night.

Today has been the first time I have visited this restaurant branch with my friends. The staff are polite, kind and patient. The atmosphere was pleasant and busy and the food was absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend this restaurant! It’s an amazing but tasty curry house. I will be visiting again and will be recommending this restaurant to my friends and family. Thankyou all very much for your hospitality! Khoesh Miah, Abdul Miah and N.D Parmar

To start with we had to ask to order drinks 15 minutes after being seated, the drinks took a further 20 minutes to arrive, this was the theme of the evening, Service was very slow. The food was at the standard expected, not Wow, but good. This is the 2nd time we have visited for a special occasion, many years apart and both have been not up to the hype / expectation.

Had a few pints last night, service was good, thanks. Could and should be busier, like it used to be.
