My favourite place to eat! The staff are lovely, the decor is gorgeous and hand painted by one of the owners. The menu is full of exciting fresh foods and is updated with new recipes all the time! I always enjoy whatever I choose and sometimes I'll even get to sample new menu items before they're released! Cannot fault this place at all.
I was a very close friend of Lisa's. She said I was dark after I helped her clear her home of all darkness. I use to do healing with her and helped her on many levels. Be careful of her as she doesn't care she is fake. She pretends to be your friend and manipulates you. Do not trust her!!!! She worked for another place at holistic therapies in Birmingham and claimed they were dark!!!! I'm not the first or last!!!! BE CAREFUL OF LISA!!! I must warn you all as therapists are meant to be trustworthy, Lisa is far from it!!!
PLEASE BE CAREFUL OF HER AND DO NOT ALLOW HER IN YOUR PERSONAL SPACE!!!
The bread was delicious, the customer service was so kind and friendly, the place was so clean and hygienic an prices are very acceptable, lovely little bakery I would highly recommend to anyone who loves bread and sweet pastries.
Ginlicious! This is a great place to try local Shrewsbury gin with free tastings in addition to an extensive gin list from other distilleries both UK and international. You can choose the tonic and the garnish or simply go with their suggested combinations. We did the tasting with plain tonic and then choose a couple of gins prepared with their suggested tonic and garnish. We paired it with a tasting board for a great lunch option. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommended.
Went for lunch with a couple of friends, we had 9 tapas dishes, absolutely beautifully presented, tasted amazing. Very friendly and helpful staff.
We chatted to the chef , and asked if we could take home some of the hummus, which she potted up for us. Would definitely recommend, and will definitely be going back.
Thank you for an excellent meal.
Such a lovely spot, really friendly service with delicious well priced food. I had the naan with cream cheese, egg and avocado and it was so tasty! A wonderful view of the river too and lots of books and toys for kids as well.

I was treated to a birthday lunch here by my son at my request as I had sampled the food before and was eager to return. Three of us had the so fearful smoked salmon tagliatelle with its tangy chilli and lemon dressing while my son was mightily impressed by the steak ciabatta and the red onion/red cabbage slaw that accompanied it. The other great thing about eating here, apart from the friendly service, are the lovely little touches like real napkins and decent quality cutlery as well as fresh flowers on the table - something many restaurants don't even bother with, let alone market eateries!
Looking forward to visiting again soon.
What a gem of a place. We had a take away and the food was so delicious. A lovely owner, and we cannot recommend enough. We will definitely come and sit in and try the cocktails next time
Not many places in Shrewsbury offer a taster menu, but @thewalrusrestaurant has built a reputation for its culinary creativity in recent years. With a chic bar area for cocktails and an intimate restaurant space, diners are treated to a cozy atmosphere, with some tables overlooking the river.

The meal began with delightful amuse-bouches designed to tantalize our taste buds. The light crispy pastry encasing smoky, soft beef tartare was a standout! Bold, flavourful, and utterly captivating. It certainly set the tone for the feast ahead.
Next came the pumpkin bread with a pillowy-soft center beneath a perfectly baked crust served with miso-infused butter.
**Starters**
Porcetta: The first starter featured thinly sliced herbed Porcetta, capers, and a hint of citrus, combining to create a refreshing and harmonious dish. This dish divided opinion with one of us raving about the flavour combinations and the other left unsure.
Mushroom: The second starter showcased the earthy taste delightful texture of mushrooms and potato in a rich, indulgent sauce. The exquisite morels added depth and elegance to this satisfying course.
**Mains**
Sole: The first main course was a medley of bold flavors and textures. Grilled lemon sole, English asparagus cooked to perfection paired beautifully with brown shrimp and the crunch of toasted hazelnuts. The hollandaise sauce provided richness, but a lemony curd like accompaniment felt unnecessary and the whole dish slightly over-salted for our taste.
Dry Aged Duck: The second main brought duck served two ways complemented by tamarillo. Tamarillo, something you don’t often see and reminiscent of sweet peach plus butternut squash, parsnip, beetroot, and carrot slivers. While the duck had the desired layer of fat this could have benefited from more rendering, the flavours however were intriguing and enjoyable.
**Desserts**
Rhubarb & Custard: For those less inclined towards sweet deserts, this offered a perfect balance: vibrant orange cream, fresh tart rhubarb pieces, rhubarb sorbet, and meringue tiles.
Carrot & white chocolate: Delicious!
Food is delicious, so fresh and so full of flavours! Service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. Such a lovely atmosphere on a Saturday evening when the market is open later. A real gem in Shrewsbury! Highly recommended!
Really enjoyed going here, played a few games with my partner and had their seasonal milkshakes which somehow tasted as good as they looked, usually very pretty drinks don't live up to it but these really do. They have a great selection of merch and TCG stuff from a handful of different TCG games, personally loved the Pokémon cards they stock. Staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome, will certainly return when I can!
