The Ploughboy is not6 posh, but serves good tasty food. All day breakfasts, salads, jackets etc and as a bonus dree chips! . I had bacon, sausages, black pudding and chips, it was really tasty and served quickly. I didn't feel rushed when I had finished. I first visited in 1984. It has maintained its great quality, reasonably prived and quick friendly service. I Always go back

My wife and I went for lunch with our daughter and foster daughter. We were seated after a short time but still too long. We sat to choose from the lunch menu and waited a good 15 to 20 minutes for the waitress to come and take our order. We did have some dietary needs but chose from the menu and asked for some alterations to the dishes because of Allergies and dislikes. The waitress took the order making notes of the required changes. We then waited for over 40 minutes for the dishes to arrive. I noted straight away that my choice was incorrect and pointed this out to the waitress (who seemed to be the manageress) she did offer to change it. I declined as we had already waited too long!!! Another dish was incorrect too. During our time at the venue we noticed that none of the customers were approached by the staff to see if 'everything was OK?' When we went up to pay, the lady didn't ask if the food or service was fine. While at the till we did give feedback about the food and service but the lady did seem to brush it off and wasn't fussed. We are not going to be visiting again any time soon but other people may have had a better experiences at the place.

Went here on the recommendation of a couple who had stayed with us at our Guesthouse in Llandudno. We were not disappointed, The decor at this 500 year old pub is homely and charming. The real ale on offer was great. We had grilled chicken with charred asparagus served on risotto rice with wild garlic sauce and battered haddock with chips and pea puree. Both were superb and obviously cooked to order. Will definitely return when in Shrewsbury again.

On arrival, the pub was empty, so no atmosphere. Unfortunately, I ordered a full fat soft drink they only offered Pepsi max or diet Pepsi only. (NOT a good start) I selected a menu. However, these were stuck together with alcohol and had not been wiped down, hence why they stuck together.. We sat in the restaurant area as we were planning on staying for food. Once seated, the table mats were also marked with alcohol glass rings and clearly not wiped down. The bar maid came to take our food order, she wasn't really welcoming, and asked us to leave the dining area and move to the bar if you're not eating! To be fair, the pub was empty, and I can understand why if that's the welcome .. We chose to leave and won't be returning. Dissapointed !!!!
