only popped in for a coffee but the vibe was really lovely! lovely staff, great quality and price. Really recommend the cucumber iced tea that they have on tap! will be back :)

Took 33 year 6 children here as a reward for completing their SATs tests. The cafe was accommodating, easy to deal with and contact. Provided superb value for money and the children loved the milkshakes. Huge selection of games meant everyone played something. The staff are conscious of neuro divergence and the environment is perfect for a calm morning of gaming. My children loved the pride flags and nerdy decorations and were excited about visiting in future with their families. 8 think it taught the children that there are places in the world that everyone is accepted and it made them a little more optimistic about what is out there. They have all been bugging me to get more games for our wet play cupboard now which is great because normally they just want to watch cartoons. The gentleman who made our drinks was friendly and the manager on duty set me at ease straight away and made us feel that even though there was a lot of us he wanted us to have fun. Thank you nerdy you have a very special place there.

what a great space to chill and roll dice! they even serve Lapsang Souchong and Chai Tea - it litterally us like home from home, but with enough space to have ALL your buddies over!

This is an amazing little escape of the busy life outside. Coffee shop come board game nook it is just a lovely calming, welcoming atmosphere that I personallu can't get enough of. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The games area is spacious and everything is just a lovely zen place. Can't wait for my next visit.

Came here for the first time yesterday evening with my 10yr old step daughter, atmosphere was very good, fabulous range of board games and excellent coffee. Staff were very friendly, thoroughly enjoyable experience!

What a fantastic place for all the family to go and play board games along with all other things there. The staff were amazing and friendly the food was great so we can't wait to go again, give it a try you won't be disappointed

I went in to do some work on my computer and ordered anything my eye spotted which was a falafel wrap with a flat white … but wow !! I actually really liked the food .. the staff were amazing !❤️ I would definitely go again .. but next time to try their huge board game collection 😍 thank you nerdy for the nice experience and great food

Brilliant place which was more than accommodating to our needs, from drinks to food and most importantly games. We come back again and again and it never disappoints. Wish we lived closer, because if we did we'd be in there every week! Dog friendly, huge selection of games, loads of different specific game nights. What's not to love.

Amazing time here! It's our second time visiting the place and both times the food was awesome, atmosphere great, wide collection of games and lovely staff! They were also very welcoming to our group and our 3 month old 😁 we will definitely be returning soon!

£8 per person for 2 hours is pretty silly, similar places in Bristol (which you'd expect to be on the pricier side) charge £2 per hour and are warm and not drafty, have helpful staff who remember to bring your drinks, and serve alcohol The last one isn't their fault but if you're open to 11 it is a little unusual Unless I'm really missing something I'm not sure how this place has 4.9 stars

Such a lovely, one of a kind place!!! So nice in fact that I'd love to work here In the future. I went here for the first time on a quiz night. I walked in and I was immediately made to feel welcome, the staff were very polite and helpful, answering any questions I had and even told me where everything is. This is a LGBTQIA+ friendly establishment, I'm not part of that community but it's nice to know that people are safe and free to be themselves here. The building is quite large with lots of seating, they have different events each night, they offer a huge selection of board games (I think over 2000 but I may be mistaken) and they even have Warhammer tables. They sell a lot of different geek/nerd culture paraphernalia such as dice, cards etc. The seats are very well built which is great for big person like myself. (nothing worse for a heavy set person than going to a place with rickety chairs that couldn't take the weight of a chunky cat let alone an adult 😹) It is an alcohol free establishment although they serve alcohol free beers, ciders and wines. They also have soft drinks in cans and bottles I believe. I initially ordered a latte which was beautifully made by the barista with foam art. They have different coffee syrups including sugar free ones and different types of milk for vegans and lactose intolerant people. I then ordered a milkshake not realising the absolute beast that was about to be bought out to me!!! It was delicious with plenty of whipped cream and a toffee/caramel sauce on top served in a massive glass tankard. It was visually reminiscent of a butter beer for you harry potter fans. I had a "build your own burger" where you can choose from a selection of buns, burgers, cheeses, toppings and sauces. I chose a beef burger with cheese crispy onions and pickles and a side order of curly fries. All very nice!!! There is also a selection of condiments that you can help yourself to. Soon after I finished my meal the place started filling up for the quiz, it was a lot of fun, I met some lovely people and had a great laugh. I haven't felt this comfortable and safe in a place before, it was nice to be around like minded people. Long live Nerdy!!!

This place is great. Regardless who you are (or your level of knowledge about games and nerdy stuff!) you are made to feel instantly welcomed. Highly recommend this as a place to go and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family, without screens, or alcohol!

Try to make a visit every chance I get. The staff are fantastic, a wide selection of games to play and even the food is great. Love it there!

Amazing place, fantastic how it’s such a safe and inclusive venue. The food is so yummy with lots of vegan and gluten free options, there’s something for everyone. My son love the games consoles, he sits with his cousin for ages happily playing giving me time to sit and chat with a delicious hot chocolate to my sister. Great place, highly recommend! Even the toilets are great, lots of free essential products and inclusive but great facilities for anyone with a disability.

Following a sunday carvery and an escape room at Shrewsbury Prison there was no better way to finish off our trip with a few boardgames and a piece of cake and this was the place to do it. A huge collection of games available to play and a selection of teas, coffees, soft drinks and cakes makes for a good way to spend an afternoon. If you like boardgames and snacks (you should) then there's no better way to spend your time and money than here.

Brilliant little café, perfect place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. Nerdy also offers games nights and events for people interested in nerdy hobbies.

Just love this place. I feel at home here. Staff are so friendly and interested in you. 1000+ games to pick from, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo consoles are available in a dedicated zone, table top war gaming area, a dnd themed quiet room and much more. Hot chocolate to die for and a "Star wrap" that will change your life. Something for everyone and family friendly. Highly recommended. Nerdy is a great place to meet new friends, catch up with old friends and start a DnD journey that will keep you coming back for years

We went to Nerdy for the first time tonight and had such an amazing time. It was a quiet Sunday night so Katie let us stay longer than usual which we appreciated so much☺️ Amazing service and such a good menu of food, we ordered food online without realising the kitchen had already closed but Katie insisted she was still happy to make it. It was delicious, we had such a lovely night and loved Mario kart on the big TV’s. We will definitely be back ☺️

A hidden gem withing shrewsbury, people need to make good use of this thriving place for all things board game related. It's well stocked with hundreds of games and there is plenty to choose from. The food and drink is good and the staff are always pleasant and helpful.

Used to be 5 star but now want to charge people £15.99 a month for membership just shy of £200 a year complete rip off. Other game cafes are much cheaper...After reading your comments as me and my wife can only make it every fortnight it would still cost us over £30 for the month which is 98 percent more expensive than the next nearest game cafe so I will stick with my one star review

A lovely place to visit if you're looking for a coffee with a friend, lunch with the family, or gaming with anyone you know! It's serves great food, lovely drinks and has a really inviting and inclusive atmosphere. I always have a great time when I visit, that's why I've been visiting for years!

Dropped by for a second visit after going out for a meal in Shrewsbury. We turned up around 8pm, were able to nab a table to play board games until 11pm. There is a really good selection of board games, at the end of the room there was a group playing console games (who were super friendly, and invited us to jump in if we wished - the atmosphere is just lovely), and there was karaoke going on downstairs. It was all wonderful, it feels like such a safe space. The staff are brilliant, and the drinks we got were really good (i love their coffee!). A couple of our group got deserts too, the portion sizes looked great and they really enjoyed them. I can't wait until I can next stop by!

My mates and I love this place, it's our go-to place to hang out. Such a friendly vibe and comfortable. The games are great and there are some fun events in the evenings such as quiz night/ LGBT+ social/ chess etc... Also some good food and snacks for long game sessions, including some tasty vegan options.

Nerdy is a fantastic board game cafe, with a huge choice of games. We visited with friends and had a great evening playing a variety of games. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and service is excellent.

Honestly my favorite place we've found while visiting Shrewsbury, just a delight. So many games to choose from, very inviting atmosphere, DELICIOUS FOOD AND DRINKS to rival any chain, all with just the nicest staff. Spending time here was an utter joy, and we appreciated the later hours to spend more time. Honestly this place makes it hard to go home, I recommend to everyone.

The only exciting place to go in Shrewsbury. Owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming, great selection of drinks and food whether you want snacks or full on bites. Great selection of "nerdy" hobbies as well whether its boardgames, TCG's, D&D or even chess and knitting. If you've never been before I'd recommend playing Crokinole.

Fab, every game you can think of. They have the best frickles and love the quiz. Great fun.

This experience is for everyone... Lunch menu suits all dietary requirements and food is freshly produced. Prices are extremely reasonable and my homemade humus with warm pitta bread and chunky carrots and cucumber was delicious and generous. Such a great place for families, students, older folk and even if you're not into games it's a great place to eat. If you are into playing games then this is your chance to meet with friends and family and indulge yourself in a little distraction from reality. Which, let's be honest, can be welcome sometimes. Coffee is smooth and will keep you going as once you've paid for your table, you can stay as long as you want. You can even leave and come back later. Be sure to check out prices as discounts are offered in school holidays. Also, bear in mind that the 5* hygiene kitchen is closed on Tuesdays for deep cleaning. Theme nights are for those folk who live beyond Scrabble and expect to see people dressed in costume especially on Dungeon and Dragon evenings!

My family and I love this place. The staff are top quality, the range of food and drink awesome. I've never seen so many board games in one place, and the system for "renting" them is wonderful.

This is one of the best cafés in Shrewsbury. It is Shrewsbury's first boardgame café and the range of games available is vast. There are regular events, like quizzes, LGBTQ+ socials and D&D nights. They are open from 11am until 11pm so will suit a wide range of players. For weekends and holidays, make sure you book your table in advance. Membership is well worth it, halving the price to play. In café terms, it is excellent. The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming; there is a brilliant sense of community. Vegetarian and vegan options are easy to come by and the newly opened (as of Summer 2022) proper kitchen serves a range of loaded fries, paninis and salads. The toilet facilities cater to all, sanitary products are freely available for those that need. The disabled toilet is fully kitted out with a hoist.

Really enjoyed my stop in here for some games and coffee. The coffee was great and the bird game collection was massive. Didn’t have any food, but the snacks did look nice. It wasn’t too busy when I went, but I noticed they had multiple copies of some of the more popular games which would be really nice during the busy times. The tables were a nice size too for larger games. Worth a stop in 🙂

First experience was 'wow'. Much more than I expected, fantastic drinks and cake. Loads of games in excellent condition and grouped by playing time. Definitely going back lots (and I live over 20 miles away). Have already told all ages family to go.

Great staff, amazing events and some of the best damn coffee and cake I've had. Perfect for DnD groups and board games enthusiasts. They have have a good selection of tgc packs, minis and even ttrpg books. Could not recommended more

Nerdy Coffee Co is such a fantastic community hub for nerds just like me. I'm always met warm whenever I walk through their doors (which is often). If you love board games, or anything considered nerdy, you'll be right at home. Nerdy Coffee Co does a community service and I'm so proud of them and what they've achieved. Visit, you will not be disappointed!

Great little boardgame coffee shop. The concept is very unique and enjoyable, you pay £4 to play boardgames all day, this isn't really explained until you speak to the staff though. The milkshakes and pizza dippers were not the best but still had a great time playing the games.

Super fun place with enough board games to keep you busy for weeks. The hosts are knowledgeable and friendly, they make you feel welcome. And the milkshakes are delicious!

Absolutely superb venue and definitely needs to be a stop off for everyone that visits Shrewsbury. So so accomodating, felt very safe Covid measure wise and food and drink all excellent! I might have lost at Crockinole despite claiming to be a legend at it but still had a wonderful time. Thanks guys, Merry Christmas!

My favourite place in Shrewsbury. Being able to go to a café and play board games is something that is so fun for any age range as they have such a wide selection of games which you can pick from. The staff are amazing and attentive and so genuine with their customers.

This is an amazing place to be if you are in the slightest bit into either quality hot beverages or board games If you love board games then you simply MUST check this place out. They have a great selection filtered by time to play the game. They have themed nights, quiz nights and generally everything you could want to play. Also their spicy nachos... Are REALLY spicy.

Lovely spacious and naturally well lit café with plenty of tables and seating. They have a huge array of games available to play and have even taken the time and effort to arrange them according to length of gameplay. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful with a very good range of cakes and hot drinks available which they will deliver to your table. Excellent clean and spacious loos too, going that extra mile to provide free nappies, wipes and sanitary products.

amazing coffee definitely comparable to costa and Starbucks. I had a great warmed up brownie with cream. such a friendly relaxed environment. plenty of games to choose from (and I mean there are loads!) I didn't feel like the staff were putting on customer service voices, they felt genuine in their friendliness. highly recommend and will definitely be going back more than once.

First time here for a 3 hour gaming session. Cannot say enough nice things about the experience. Great coffee, very very clean environment and just a perfect setup for our evening. Will be coming back for sure!

Absolutely love it here, it's my new favourite venue. Perfect for an evening where you don't want to spend it around the drinking crowd. Reasonably priced food and drinks to keep you going for your long board game sessions and delightful staff to top it off. Great facilities with thoughtful toiletries included. Brilliant facilities, staff are wonderful, food and drink is great and the selection of games is wonderful. Very accommodating for a family with young children needing bottles warmed. The lovely staff made our day out a lot more manageable. Thank you.

Booked a table to play dnd on Sunday of the bank holiday. It was my first time there and I was really, really impressed. The place is much bigger and brighter than it looks from the outside and we had loads of space, so even though there were other people at tables and browsing the shelves, we felt safe from a social distancing point of view. The staff were excellent, really friendly, happy to make recommendations, and quick with our food and drinks - these were also delicious, and a great choice of vegan and dairy-free options. I'll be going back just for the brownies and peanut butter cookie dough!! Bathroom facilities were very well-considered (they were large, unisex, all had changing tables, a huge selection of hygiene products, tampons, pads, etc), and were well-cleaned. For a big place, I think they had the right number of bathrooms too. We didn't browse the game selection that was available to borrow, but from what we could see there was a really great selection, so I'm sure at some point we'll be back to borrow something from them, but we'll definitely be back soon either way! We absolutely loved it!
