Still superb food and excellent service from great staff as usual. Can't fault them. Such a shame they are closing

So gutted this place is closing the end of march! (Retirement) Truly the best place to eat. If you ever speak to anyone they will likely say they’ve never had a bad meal here as we haven’t!. Simply a gem of a place.

Went for dinner with my wife and the food was delicious. The steaks were excellently cooked, and the portions were pretty large, and the price was very reasonable for a two course meal. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, the service was quick, and the staff were great.

What a pleasure it always is to enjoy the delicious Sunday Lunches on offer at our favourite local Restaurant. Whether just as a couple or with family and friends the food and service is always top notch , with a good range of reasonably priced house wines to complement the food Both Jill and I have never found anywhere else who can rival Latimers rare roast beef or pink lamb and we look forward to every visit Shifnal is lucky to have you

Just visited Latimers for a Pre-Christmas day lunch with the family and it didn’t disappoint! As always the service was A1+ , with everyone concerned very professional yet personal and welcoming. For lunch we had Tapas with a twist and it was absolutely divine. The presentation and taste was gorgeous and there was more than enough to fill us all. I’d highly recommend this to anyone. Wow! What a fantastic restaurant/ wine bar. Had the most amazing meal , my husband is constantly disappointed with steak in this country, but last night he had the best steak he'd ever eaten in the Uk. A fantastic venue. Food was absolutely delicious and hot. We had our office christmas meal there and everyone commented on how fantastic the food was. Booked to go here having recently moved to Shifnal and read the reviews; we were not disappointed!! Really good service and excellent home-cooked food with incredibly generous portion sizes. We had the festive menu. Definitely worth a visit; we will be regular visitors……a fabulous restaurant in a lovely town.

Visited for Pie & Pud night on a Thursday and it was all delicious, the portions are very generous and the food is so tasty! I opted for their Chicken and Mushroom Pie which was deliciously creamy, and for dessert their Homemade Apple and Raspberry Crumble with Custard which was just the right size and full of flavour! Can't reccomend enough!

My friend recommended their Pie & Pud night so we booked ourselves in. Food was excellent, the portions were generous and reasonably priced. I had the lamb, mint and pea pie which was incredible. Staff were all really lovely and service was quick. The whole place has a really nice atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend eating here, I have literally no complaints.

Had an excellent experience at Latimer’s on Friday 10 Nov 23. We were staying in a local hotel and looked for a local eating place, called a few and we were offered a table here and are so pleased we were. The food was excellent (and large portions), prices were very reasonable being below 30 for great 2 course options. The service was exemplary, staff were friendly and the owner was very attentive. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone in the local area!

Fabulous, great quality food and lots of it. We had starters and mains, but unfortunately, we couldn't fit in a dessert. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked fabulous. Staff were friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be returning soon.

The Sunday lunch here is delicious. High quality, great tastes, vey generous portions with side plates of roasts, parsnips, 5 star cauliflour cheese etc. Great service and lovely wine. This is the place I compare all sunday lunches too but only a few come close. Blessed to have this great restaurant so near.

My wife and I visited Latimers on Saturday 23 September 2023 for a birthday meal and our first ever visit to this highly recommended restaurant. My wife is recovering from a long stay in hospital and uses a walking aid to move around. I was able to drop her off at the roadside and having escorted her into the premises I then moved our car to a nearby park . Latimers is a large , flat floor , single room with a bar at the rear The toilets are accessed to the right of the bar . It has a variety of seating and tables with comfortable leather sofas to the left of the bar. Although my wife and I are both real ale fans which Latimers , sensibly , does not offer we did both really enjoy our cocktails . I had a Latimers House Special Cocktail ( Disaronno, Peach Schnapps with orange juice - gorgeous!) and my wife had a Strawberry Daiquiri ( Bacardi and Strawberry Liquer) . A special offer on cocktails mean these lovely drinks can be purchased at a good price when you buy 2. We both had steaks with my 10z Sirloon steak and my wife's Fillet steak being cooked to perfection . The cleared plates showed how much we both enjoyed these meals . For the dessert course I had a crunchy topped raspberry and Apple Crumble whilst my wife had a superb lemon tart . A highly recommended restaurant worth phoning up to book a table .

First visit to Latimers this evening, we were served by Ashley, who was welcoming, pleasant and attentive. Due to restricted time we were able to pre-order ahead to ensure our wait was as short as possible. The food came out very quickly and it was well presented, brilliant quality, generous portions and very tasty! At a reasonable price, considering our comments. The frontage, was very misleading and tired, assuming we had booked a table at a low key cafe, we actually found it to be a hidden gem and will definitely be returning soon! We were given a really friendly welcome and really enjoyed our meals, which were served with large portions. The sea bass with creamed leeks was excellent, with crispy vegetables; and the chicken and mushroom pie was as good as you would hope for.

We booked for a Sunday Roast Dinner, we had a starter, I had Creamy Garlic and Sherry Mushrooms whilst the other person in our group of 3 had the Homemade Soup, both served with lovely warm freshly baked bread, so delicious and very moorish. Our mains were Roast Beef and Lamb, served with beautifully cooked veg in separate dishes, we all agreed that the Yorkshire Puddings literally melted in your mouth we’ve never tasted one like it ( I want that recipe plzzzzz ) 🤣😂. Gravy was rich and perfect consistency. There was so much veg left, and none of us could finish our Meat, so we asked to take it home for our Pugs, they retuned with a silver foil tray with the goodies to take home. We ordered 1 Pudding as so full up, that too was exceptional. The staff were polite and professional and Becky the Owner was really nice and made an effort to come and converse after we had finished our meal. We would highly recommend Latimer’s of Shifnal. We took our friends to Cosford Air Museum for the day and finished off with a lovely Sunday Lunch at Latimer's. It was a great day out and the food was excellent, I would really recommend it, in fact if we are ever in the area again we will be calling in.

I can't say enough about this beautiful little gem hidden away in Shifnal. I had heard my family had booked a meal here for an 80th birthday and decided it was the perfect place to hijack it, coming from Canada to see family members again was made special by the staff who I brought in on the surprise. The food was Devine, the flavors of the sauces was like a journey into the unknown, with every mouthful of the meal, another bold step forward. We went to the pie and pudding night and we were not disappointed, minor changes to the sides were unquestionably accepted, and took the meal from a more North American feel, back to a traditional English dinner. Kudos to the two beautiful ladies that waited on us and huge thank you to the chefs and kitchen staff who made this meal memorable. Perfect food, perfect atmosphere, best hosts ever. I will be back.

Food was amazing in here and the portions were really decent. I think it’s reasonably priced for the quality and quantity. Customer service was great too and such a nice relaxed atmosphere. The pan seared duck was amazing and sides are decent sized as well.

You can’t get better food than this! We had chump of lamb with all the trimmings.The meat was succulent and plentiful and all the vegetables cooked to perfection and the crowning touch was the delicious mint gravy. For dessert we chose apple and raspberry crumble which was unlike any we had had before! So crunchy with chunky fruit , to die for!!! All of the staff were attentive and very friendly. Can’t wait to go back!

First time I have been here despite living near here for a few years. Not a huge place and is only open for a limited time, Thursday to Sunday. So I recommend booking your table, especially on a Sunday, 2 weeks in advance. Food is really good and the portions are surprisingly generous. Cooked fresh all the time and to your needs where possible. Menu is ltd but in a good way, as this focuses on creating good meals in a reasonable time. Staff are fantastic, always attentive to your needs. Shall definitely be going back to try the famous! Pies. They again looked generous.

We had the 2 course Sunday lunch which we got a table luckily to a cancellation otherwise it's a 3 week waiting list and after eating it I can understand why, bloody amazing 😋 Top Tip: If there are 2 of you or equal amounts I advise sharing the starter and pudding as you not only save a bit of money you simply won't be able to eat it all.
