We had a birthday afternoon tea here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Being February and miserable weather, we had the place to ourselves but the staff had gone to a lot of effort - decorating the birthday girl's table with birthday confetti. Nice and cosy inside. The food was very good - nice selection of sandwiches - what I would call sensible fillings like cheese and chutney, ham and tomato, tuna mayo, and egg. Our only comment would be to include a few more of the tuna and egg ones as there were quite a few of the ham and tomato which for our group was the least popular flavour. A selection of four different cakes - carrot, victoria sponge, chocolate and a very good syrupy flapjack. Small pieces but we liked that as you could have a bit of everything without feeling like you were going to explode! Very fresh and tasty. Finally cream scones - and yay - proper clotted cream! My son has a lot of allergies so chose a baked potato off the main menu. The staff were very helpful at the booking stage sorting out his meal and he enjoyed it. Am sure it must be lovely in summer time with all the plants and being able to sit outside - will definitely come back again.

Beautiful setting surrounded by stunning roses and plants, there is a seating area in garden with a little cafe on side. There was an additional room inside, but the weather was so lovely we took advantage of the outdoor seating. I have to thank the staff, after booking an afternoon tea for 5, sadly only 3 could attend after a rather distressing morning. The staff were so accommodating. Cakes and sandwiches were plentiful, so much so we took a little doggy bag away with us. This place is so quaint, the highlight walking around and reading all the different names of roses. Dog friendly and I loved the little outside toilets. It was like stepping back in time. Thank you.

Lots of outdoot seating. Loads of cakes and plenty of gluten free ones. I didn't look for vegan stuff as there is no chance of a vegan not coughing that information after 4 seconds anyway. Tea in a pot. Nice coffees. Helpful and pleasant service. Plants looked great too?

This is THE place to go if you need a rose bush.Quality grown rose bushes of all styles and pot sizes. They are laid out on acres of well tended lawns either by occasion or a-z within their genre such as floribunda etc. Each row has photo cards showing the full bloom of each rose. This is also the place to be to name a rose for a gift or occasion you have a choice of pink, red or creamy ivory you take the rose to the till point and give the details this is then wrapped in cellophane flower wrap with gift bows and a presentation certificate along with a maintenance sheet, whilst this is being wrapped etc you are given a voucher for free teas/coffee in the coffee shop while you wait. This is lovely gesture I wasn't expecting and a very charming coffee shop. Very clean, country style, with a choice of cream teas cakes and drinks.I would suggest you take a snapshot of the road map off here as if you come off the A49 you can end up down some rural country lanes my sat nav kept wanting to take me to the other side of this garden centre which was a private neighbouring property 2 lanes away but still with this postcode.Glad I found it and well worth the visit

Ì love taking my elderly Mum here as the surroundings are so relaxing with an array of stunning colours from the roses. The food is always nice, staff are friendly and there's a choice to sit inside on a grey day. Ì recently bought a special memorial rose of which has bloomed in abundance ! We are very lucky to have such a special gardens on our doorstep but would not like it to become commercialised.

Driving through Shrewsbury to Newport, we saw a sign for a garden centre. We were hungry so went in. It was NOT a disappoint, the tea room was amazing, all food made on site. I had the pea soup, have never tasted anything so tasty, it was hot good flavour and a chunk of home made bread. Plenty of seating outside as well as in. And the roses were beautiful, we had to buy a couple! Every where you look there was roses. Can't wait to go back.

I found a rose I wanted to buy from this company's web site and decided to go and pick it up instead of having it posted. How glad I did. This place is absolutely lovely and has a massive selection of roses and other plants. It also has a wonderful tea room. The place is nestled in a quiet location just outside the village of Hadnall in Shropshire. I spoke to really nice chap called Jack both on the phone and when I was in the shop buying my rose (plus other roses that caught our eye whilst we visited). He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. All the staff were friendly and very helpful including the staff in the tea room.It really was a joy to have visited here, looking forward to my next visit.Bumper bonus they are also dog friendly, so was able to take my beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel too.

I regularly visit this tea room whilst cycling in the Shropshire countryside. They provide good food at a reasonable price. In winter there is a cosy tea room where you can eat or in fine weather there are plenty of tables outside. The nursery has a wonderful stock of roses in which they specialize and many other plants as well. The roses make a wonderful display in summer. There is also a large natural pond where you can see beautifully coloured dragonflies in season. A beautiful quiet spot.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea at the tea room. A lovely choice of sandwiches - egg mayo, chicken, ham salad and cheese and chutney. Two delicious scones with plenty of cream and jam and a selection of tasty home-made cakes. Refillable pots of tea as well which you don't always get with an afternoon tea. Really friendly staff who are keen to ensure that you enjoy yourself - which we certainly did! We will definitely return to this little gem of a tea room in the spring when the garden centre will be in full bloom.

I was looking for something for a friend's 50th birthday and this place was suggested. The gardens are beautiful! There are so many varieties of roses and they were so fragrant which brought back memories of our home growing up where we had roses lining the path. There were perennials for sale too. I couldn't help thinking what a perfect place this would be to work when I saw the gardeners with their pruning shears and wheelbarrows. So peaceful. The service in the tea room was friendly and the scone was yummy and I sat outside to enjoy the view. The lady in the shop was very friendly and suggested the Darcey Bussell rose for my friend and gift wrapped it for another £3. I would definitely recommend Country Garden Roses if you're looking for a large variety of roses.

We have been visiting the Country Garden Plant Centre & Tea Rooms over a number of years now. We love the relaxed atmosphere here, and particularly like the Personalised Roses to give as gifts. They have approx. 900 varieties of roses and a few other plants. They also sell pots but yesterday they didn't seem to have as many as usual. We really love the Tea Room especially the Ploughmans. My son had a full English Breakfast and his partner had a Bacon Sandwich. The Team Room offers a good range of food and drink at reasonable prices. A take away and delivery service is available. There is seating both inside and outside. One problem though is the number of wasps. The Centre really needs to put up wasp traps in the surrounding trees as yesterday they were a huge problem and spoilt an otherwise great lunch.Love the toilets in the garden sheds!Definitely worth a visit.

We stopped here a couple of weeks ago on our way to Herefordhsire on holiday and found it delightful, surrounded by blooming roses. I had the best cheese scone ever and couldn't stop going on about it, my mum had soup and a fruit scone which were delicious. We made sure we went back on our return journey.

Had lunch here with a very large family group 17 of us ,the meal had been pre-arranged .The staff were lovely very friendly and welcoming .We were in the Royalist restaurant ,people say the hotel is out dated ,but that is part of the history of the hotel and character , modern decor would not do the hotel justice , and shrewsbury town is a medieval town , the Prince Rupert was former home to Prince Rupert the grandson of King James 1 ,so why would anyone want to change such an Iconic hotel into a modern hotel . Our food and service was fantastic the serving staff were lovely very efficient and we didn't have to wait long between courses . My partner and I had Sweet corn Veloute for starters ,then Hake and then Chocolate Brownie with ice cream ,Every course was delicious served on hot plates . So if you like places with history and good food and service ,I can highly recommend the Prince Rupert every where was lovely and clean too .

Fantastic. Dan the chef is amazing. The food served here is all freshly cooked, and the quality of the ingredients is far superior to your local pub chain. It speaks volumes about Dans' ability as both a chef....and I mean a chef, not cook,........and also a teacher, that the students he teaches, and passes his knowledge on to, can produce such amazing food consistently, all whilst having an elementary knowledge of their trade. Origins is a restaurant run by Chefs. Do yourself a favour and try for yourself. It's a hidden gem, and half the price of some pretentious pubs in town
